Find that Sister!

Acro wandered into the forest after having a look at his paper, he was supposed to find a caterpie that was supposedly lost in Shadowhue after wandering in. He wondered why a simple caterpie would come to such an advanced dungeon, after all this place was teeming with strong pokemon. Though not as strong as the pokemon in places like Mt. Frostmeer, or Black Mist Moutain, thought Acro. The archen looked at the paper, he was supposed to do the mission with another team. Who is it? he wondered.

Acro screeched in pain as he attempted to untangle himself from the vines that were slowly draining his power. The Roselia was struck by the attack, but simply used the vines connected to Acro to regain its health. The roselia smirked as the Archen was drained of power and a strange aura surrounded the leaves of nearby trees. A few leaves were plucked from the trees and rushed straight towards the Ghastly in several different angles, hoping to hit the pokemon with a Magical Leaf.

Even though the Magical Leaf hit William, his typing prevented a large part of the damage.
However, there still was the problem of the Roselia healing itself faster than William could damage it. That connection needed to be interrupted...but how?
The Roselia didn't seem to be capable of moving around too much...so maybe Hypnosis? It was worth a try...
Slowly William moved in front of the Grass type, his eyes glowing in a ghastly red as he hummed an eerie, yet strangely soothing melody. A powerful attack Hypnosis certainly was, but there weren't that many moments, in which it would actually be applicable...

The roselia was subjected to sleep, but the vines remained. Acro screeched as the vines continued to sap his health slowly and painfully as the Roselia was lulled to sleep. The archen attempted to gnaw at the vines, growing sick of this pain and torture. He finally snapped one vine open and was able to slip out of the net. He turned and glared at the Roselia, before running close and using a Pluck attack. He dealt great damage to the roselia, without waking it up seemingly.

As the sleep wasn't a natural one, it was no surprise, that the Roselia stayed asleep even though it was being attacked. Still, it hadn't been defeated yet. For that a little more "effort" would be required. Thus William didn't hesitate, but rather summoned another Shadow Ball from the darkest depths of his emo soul. As the Grass type had been hit by the Feels before, it should now have even less resistance against such an attack than it would have had before. While using his attack, the Gastly began to wonder. Ghost types use negative energy and dark emotion. So what would a Ghost type, who was completely happy with their life do?

The roselia was struck by the attack, which was followed by another Pluck attack from Acro. His claws glowed as he grabbed onto the roselia and pecked it, using Pluck. The Archen saw the pokemon's eyes open and leaped back in surprise. The roselia glares at them and raised both of its roses into the air. It began to twirl like a ballerina, releasing a strange yellow pollen and would paralyze upon touch. It was Stun Spore. Acro tried to use double team to avoid the attack, but was unsure of whether or not it was too late for him.

With the Roselia waking up again, a situation occurred, that the Gastly wasn't prepared for.
Not being able to react fast enough, William was covered by the spores, his limbs or rather his body suddenly feeling heavy. Now they were in trouble unless Acro could manage to dodge the spores and defeat the Roselia quickly enough. Even though his typing gave him an advantage over the Roselia, paralyzed and inflicted with the obligatory Leech Seed that wouldn't do him much good.
The Roselia could regenerate far too quickly with that attack, so its use had to be prevented under almost all circumstances!

Acro had luckily avoided the spores, and the roselia seemed to be focusing more on him now. The pokemon huffed and prepared another leech seed. Acro however had used Pluck attack once more. He plucked the plain seed produced from the leech seed and swallowed it, the attack growing stronger and the Roselia being tossed back against a tree.

Seeing Acro having avoided the Roselia's attacks filled William with motivation. Now the Gastly was determined to beat a variety of things out of the Grass type. With the darkest energies of his very soul, he summoned a Shadow Ball in front of him and...failed. With that strange feeling of the paralysis, the Gastly simply couldn't concenrate, so the dark orb quickly dispersed again.
Hopefully Acro would be able to fight more effectively.

The archen maneuvered quickly as he raced in and used another Pluck attack. He struck the roselia with ease and the roselia toppled over. The Archen huffed in exhaustion, his power felt as if it were dripping. His ability was activating.
He looked over to William, hoping the ghastly could speak, "You all right?"
The Archen was about to say more, but a seed slammed into his face and vines spread once more. Acro was once again immobile and his health was being painfully sucked away. The roselia turned to the Ghastly and attempted to use Leech Seed on the gastly as well, desperate for health as it was finally low.

Seeing Acro in such a state filled the spectral Pokémon with new determination.
That Roselia had to be defeated and that right now. William mustn't let a simple paralysis stop him from helping his friend! He simply wasn't allowed to let it!
Trying to calm his breathing, the Gastly closed his eyes and thought of the dull life he had been leading before. All those dark and gloomy thoughts he focussed into a twisted sphere of sadness before managing to launch it at the Poison type.
Hopefully it would have enough power. It had to, or the duo was most surely done for...
William had only found happiness a few days ago. He didn't want to lose them again...

Acro watched as the the orb of shadows launched towards the Roselia. The Roselia screamed in pain as the dark gloomy thoughts that were powering the orb crashed into it directly, dealing critical damage. The roselia screamed in rage and pain for a moment before glaring at them once more, it glared for a moment, deciding whether or not it was worth it anymore, and decided against continuing the fight.
The roselia fled.
Acro watched the roselia run as fast as its tiny legs would take it into the bushes and out of sight. As the roselia fled, it appeared to have run into something. The something was sent flying into the air and landed in front of them, revealing to be a tiny little caterpie. Acro stared, was this the correct caterpie they were looking for?

Thoroughly exhausted from the fight, William slowly tried to get a hold of the situation again. The Roselia fled, didn't it? And what was the thing, that had landed in front of the duo? It was a Caterpie. But was it "the" Caterpie? Most likely not. The mission explicitely stated, that the client's sister was scared of fire, so it would stand to reason, that she would be scared of other things as well. Yet, the Bug type they were facing, didn't seem to be intimidated by the Gastly's ghastly appearance. Well...not too intimidated at least. And for the Roselia to be able to knock it away, the small Pokémon would have to have been in the middle of the path - something one wouldn't expect from a young, scared Pokémon at all.
Even though it was disappointing to come to that conclusion, this probably wasn't the target they were looking for.

The caterpie simply stared at them and crawled away. Acro was disappointed to see it was not the caterpie they wanted since it did not seem to care that they were here. Acro looked to the ghastly with a sigh, "This is going to take up all day isn't it?"
Sure Acro liked helping pokemon, but he preferred to get it done fast. He hoped that the caterpie they were after was standing in one place...was that even a safe thing to do though??

"Well...were you expecting anything else? With that luck of ours, the Caterpie we are looking for will be in a volcano on the bottom of an ocean, which is located on a floating island in a cave or something similar. Our missions really are a variety of things, but never simple.", the Gastly replied, slightly disheartened because of this incident. Why did William always have the worst luck? But since there was nothing he could to to change that, the Gastly decided to focus on things he could change instead, namely the missing Caterpie, that hopefully was still roaming these forests.
"I guess we should continue searching. The little Bug type won't rescue herself after all."

Acro nodded and continued the search. He did not know which direction to go first, and wished that his sense of smell was similar to a poochyena's. The thought reminded him of Flint that had disappeared one day during a mission, and grew a bit depressed. He could only assume that the Poochyena had left because of how weak he was. They had not known each other long, but he could not help but to think it was his fault. It was a habit of his to think things were his fault. He did not realize it since he did not do it ALL the time.
