The Butt-tastic Sinnoh Adventure

A pleasant, warm breeze ruffled through the leaves of the trees and flowers that littered Floaroma Town. It carried the gentle scent of nature through the small town, scattering fallen petals among front gardens. In one such garden, outside a simple looking country house, was a young female. She was lay on her stomach, her long red hair hiding her face from view as she concentrated on sketching the two pokemon in front of her.
The two Pokemon, a Skorupi and a Yanma were contentedly playing among the grass and flowers of the garden, chasing each other through the lush stalks.

Glitch pushed himself back up onto his feet, though something in his eyes told Reese he wasn't finished yet. The Starly wasn't giving up any ground either. Reese frowned but understood the silent speech and turned back to her Yanma friend.

"Alright then. I have an idea. Quick Attack and Signal Beam, just as before, but spin as you do it so that your momentum draws the power around you rather than you just colliding with it again," she suggested, Glitch nodding. The Yanma flapped his delicate wings a few times before he took off again. Reese pet his head with a nervous smile before she too rose to her full height again, the egg still clutched in her other arm.

The Starly's expression brightened as Glitch rose again and he flapped his wings, also hovering in the air. Once it was happy that the trainer and her pokemon weren't going to just up and leave, he attacked again using Quick Attack.
The Starly's Quick Attack was countered easily with Glitch's own, however the Yanma span as he used it, creating a spiral of white energy behind him as he practiced for what Reese had come up with.
"That was great Glitch," Reese called, smiling, "Keep it up!"

Swiftly, the Starly darted downwards, folding in his wings for extra momentum. Glitch followed, his Speed Boost ability giving him extra speed as he followed. Deciding to test out his trainer's idea, Glitch focused his Signal Beam move into a short, slow burst of energy. The Yanma then used Quick Attack to speed up even more, spinning as he caught up with the Signal Beam.

As he reached the bug type move, the multi-coloured attack began to spiral around the Yanma, much like the white light from Quick Attack had done beforehand, creating an alternating trail of spiraling white and multicolour behind him. Using his extra speed boosts, he finally caught up with the Starly, dealing him a powerful hit with both moves at once.

The Starly was flung across the area, landing beak-first in the dust. It struggled to get up again, despite having a large resistance against bug type moves. Using it's small feet, it once again pushed itself off the ground, using it's wings to propel itself back towards Glitch. Using Quick Attack, the Starly copied Glitch's earlier movement, spinning whilst using it and creating a spiraling white trail behind him.

Reese blinked at the Starly. It was a quick learner by the looks of things, and very determined. Maybe.. just maybe she could help it stop being so violent and looking for fights wherever it went.

Glitch retaliated with his own Quick Attack, though due to the Starly being slightly weaker because of that last hit, it went down first, landing unceremoniously on the ground.

In a split second decision, Reese gently placed her egg and bag on the ground, digging through the latter for a pokeball. She found one of the ones her mother had given her, and thanked Arceus that she had. Standing back up she threw the ball and it collided with the Starly, who was still attempting to get up.
It took a few seconds, but the ball stopped rolling around and clicked, signalling the capture of the bird pokemon. Reese blinked, unsure for a moment whether she had been successful. However, when the Starly did not break free after a few seconds, she smiled nervously and moved over to pick up the ball.

Slipping the ball into her bag, she picked up both the bag and her egg and wandered off to find Leon. Quilla was seemingly oblivious to all that had happened, still clinging to Reese's shoulder, her eyes closed. Glitch however still fluttered along. Frowning, Reese gently placed the egg down again, getting Glitch's pokeball out and returning the Yanma.
"Rest for a while," she whispered, "You deserve it after all."

After having wandered about for a while, clearly lost, Leon was beginning to lose hope in ever finding his way again. Soon after, however, he stumbled, quite literally, into Reese and her Pokemon. "OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE LOST FOREVER," he crowed, clinging onto his friend in a shoddy attempt at a hug.

Reese couldn't help but chuckle a little. Quilla had woken as Leon clung to her trainer and just blinked in confusion, clicking her jaws as if to ask what the heck was going on.
"Nice to see you too, though I was only gone for a few minutes. Also I caught that Starly," she grinned, pulling out the Starly's pokeball and waving it to prove her capture. She then let the bird Pokemon out, the Starly landing neatly on the ground and stretching his wings.

Leo let go of Reese at some point during her response and was currently glaring daggers at the flying pokemon. "Keep the winged beast away from me and we'll be cool," he decided, turning about and continuing his quest through the route. Ruuma and Tsuri happily greeted the Starly, apologizing for their trainer's juvenile behavior.

Reese frowned at her friend's reaction, but decided not to say anything. After all, both Ruuma and Tsuri were weak to flying types. Perhaps if they could come to like him though, Leon could too.

Glancing down at the Starly, Reese came up with a name for him.
"I think I'll call you Cirrus. That seem fine?" she asked him. The Starly chirruped cheerfully in reply,flapping his wings a little before continuing to greet Leon's pokemon.

Smiling, Reese ushered the three of them forwards.
"Come on, we should probably catch him up."

When the others caught up with Leo and his Pokemon, he was stood be the gate that marked the exit of the route and, more importantly, the entrance to Jubilife City. He turned about on the spot and grinned widely at Reese. "Look at the buildings! And all the lights!" From Floaroma, all that could be seen of Jubilife was a distant skyline. Up close it was all so much more exciting and so much more intimidating.

Reese blinked at the sight.
"They're so tall!" she exclaimed, "It looks almost as if you'd be walking through a giant maze..."

After returning her pokemon to their pokeballs, Reese went through the gate emerging on the other side. Looking around, she attempted to find someone who could help by giving them directions to the nearest red-roofed building. What were they called? Pokemon Centers. That was it.

Leon agreed wholeheartedly with Reese's description of the city. He trotted after her, keeping a close eye on his Pokemon since it seemed so easy for them to be lost in the crowds of the city. With a snicker he reached out and tugged on his friend's sleeve. "Hey Reese, look at these fancy city adverts." He turned and pointed towards a poster upon a wall that was titled in bold letters 'HAWKASS.' It went on to announce the starring actor (some dude named Jeremy Renner) and showed a lovely artistic rendering of his rear.

Reese did laugh a little at the poster, however she also caught a glance of the actor in question, a smaller picture of his face being in the corner just in case people couldn't recognise him from his glorious rear.
"He is kinda cute looking though," she laughed before moving on.

She spotted a small group of what looked to be young trainers not far away. Turning back to Leon she grinned, "We should ask them for directions!"

Leo laughed before nodding his agreement. He strode up to the pair of trainers, beaming. "Hello, I'm Leo and this is Reese. We're from Floaroma town so we don't really know our way around. Would you mind showing us how to get to the PokeCenter?" When Leon was met with bright, friendly smiles and affirmative answers, his smile grew wider. "Awesome!"

Reese grinned at the pair before she and Leon followed them toward the Pokemon Center. It didn't take long to reach it as the two seemed to know the city well. Reese assumed that perhaps they lived there, or had at least been here for more than a few days.

Upon entering the center, one of the two pointed to the counter.
"Here you go!" he grinned, Reese digging her three pokeballs out of her bag before wandering over. She handed them to the nurse at the counter, who pointed to a group of seats and tables nearby, saying that they should wait there.

Nodding, Reese took a seat, the pair of trainers choosing seats opposite.

Leon passed his pokeballs over in much the same way, a brilliant smile on his face. With a quick 'thanks!' he trotted over to Reese and plopped down in the seat beside her. As he waited for their Pokemon to be rested, Leo began making idle conversation with the trainers opposite them. "So how about them Hawkasses then?"

The female of the two, who introduced herself as Dhalia, grinned widely at the mention of Hawkasses. "They're pretty darn hot if you ask me," she laughed, Reese joining the laughter.

"But enough of that. When your pokemon are healed, why don't we have a tag battle?" suggested Dhalia. "You two can team up and I can tea up with Richard here. Whaddya say?"

Reese turned to look at Leon, "I'm up for it."

Leo grinned before nodding vigorously. "Oh that sounds absolutely marvelous," he crowed, dragging out the word 'absolutely.' As the male trainer began formulating rude jokes that could be made out of the name Richard, the nurse called out to them in a loud, clear voice. "Miss Reese and Mister Leon, your Pokemon have finished healing up!" Leon's head snapped up and he paused his computing for a moment in order to retrieve his companions.
