Pokemon: The Strange Evolution

Sarah sighed as she shouldered her backpack, looking over Viridean Forest from a hill. It used to be so nice and green... Now crators, burnt areas, cut trees, and all sorts of war damage were across the area. All because of the stupid war. Sarah picked no side, she just wanted to live. Of course, she was also protecting three others. Her plan was to see if they could find a safe haven in Viridean City... at least for a little while. Sarah called out to the others. "You guys doing alright? Need a break before we go on?"

Ashe shook his head, and leaped down quietly from the tree, walking past the Onix, he shook his head again at the waste of such a being, and walked after the others, his masked face not showing much emotion. He watched the back, as was his job, keeping a respectful distance between him and the others. His eyes on the road, and foliage.

By luck, they met no trouble the rest of the way and made great time getting to Viridean City. It had been hit early in the war due to Team Rocket remnants attacking. It lookeed like ruins, but Sarah knew shelter and salvage could be found. "Okay, I wanna find a stable location that is defensible. Once we have a place, we'll scavenge for supplies. We stick together fore now. Watch for hostiles. Any doubt and you attack or run. DO NOT give our position away needlessly. Stay quiet."

This was getting ridiculous. Sarah was getting painfully annoying to Valdis. Just boss around everyone, yeah that's fine.

But there would be no point to losing his temper now, whether he wanted to or not, they'd have to work together. Once the time had come, he could break away from the group.

"Yes ma'am..." Trish muttered, turning away and starting to walk elsewhere in the town, deciding to look for anything they could use as a temporary shelter. "What are we waiting for? Might as well start now." She commented to the group, eager to get it over with and potentially have a moment to take a breather. She ran the possibilities through her head of what would be good. Maybe the old pokecenter or pokemart would still be a good place to seek shelter, and maybe there had even once been a gym there, she didn't really remember if there was or not.

Ashe grinned under his face-mask, his eyes glittering, and he leaped up onto a ruined building, looking out over the expanse, he watched the others rummage about for a shelter area, he mainly stood on the ruined ledge, watching over the ruins, and his friends. Watching the forests. Watching the plume of smoke across the forest, he sighed and leaped down again, and started building a small cairn, finally ending by wrapping the Aron Necklace around it, he muttered a small blessing on the cairn, for the dead soldier he once knew, and then went back to his vigil over the area.

Sarah eventually decied on the Viridean Gym. It looked abandoned, yet untouched by the damage that struck thd rest of the city. Sarah of course searched it out to find it empty and brought the others inside. "Okay, I want to make sure we have food. We can split in two groups. Trish and Ashe, you search for supplies here. Valdis and I will go out and look in the city. We'll return in two hours at dusk. Lock the doors at dusk even if we don't show up." Sarah was emptying her bag of the scarce supplies she had to make room for what she'd find. She was sticking to Valdis because honestly she considered him half feral. He needed to be watched.

Valdis stood by the door of the gym, waiting as Sarah emptied her bag. He didn't really have any objections to going out, and thus he remained silent, waiting for her to be ready to go.

Trish followed the rest of the group into the gym and listened to what Sarah had to say. I've got no objections to sticking around this area. She decided and nodded her head. "Sounds like a plan. Just make sure you're back by then, because once that door's closed it's not getting opened until daytime." She commented. Of course if they didn't make it back in time, and she was able to, she'd probably find herself opening the doors if they came back. Not that she would admit it to them, plus they were useful as a group. It was logical to try and help each other survive.

Ashe saw everyone head into the gym, he shook his head, and leaped down, following them inside, and when he got paired with the fire-type searching the gym for supplies, he sighed inwardly, and nodded, hoping that they saw the nod. He wasn't going to speak again. He rummaged about in the debris, shifting about some to the side, looking for anything of value. Spotting something glittering, he picked up a old rusted badge, and slipped it into his pouch on his belt, and continued to search. He continued through the rubble, keeping a eye on Trish, not that he didn't trust her, he just didn't trust anyone. He stumbled over a small box, and a bit of canned food spilled out, he grinned, and waved at Trish hoping to attract her attention, then picked up the box, heaving it up, and walking over to a clear spot, setting it down, hoping to start building a pile of the supplies gathered.

Sarah headed out with Valdis once prepared, keeping on ey on him while simultaneously looking for places that looked untouched by looting. Some places looked like hopeful spots, but little was there and not destroyed. Sarah salvaged what she could and left all the useless, food or otherwise. Passing a wall, Sarah noticed something strange. Why was a randomly placed electric lock in the middle of a solid stone wall? The wire to it was cut and left it unpowered. "Valdis, think you can supply steady power to this device? I think there might be something here and I wanna get it open."

Valdis looked around the area in silence, unable to find anything of interest. Until Sarah called him over. Without replying he listened to her request. And really, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it, so without another word, he started to send a stream of electricity into the wire.

Trish had been wandering away from her current partner as she looked around the gym for supplies. She didn't have much luck with her searching, making her shake her head and let out an exasperated sigh. She thought that they would have to tell the others that nothing had been found until she finally turned back and noticed Ashe waving over to her. "What's up, find anything useful?" She asked calmly as she walked back over to him, seeing that he had found some canned food goods. "Good job, though I can't say it's too much." She commented. More then what I've found. Better search more carefully, wouldn't want to be outdone. Her comment continued in her head as she walked away again, heading to another pile of rubble nearby. After clearing aside some debree, her search yielded two bottles of water. Nothing too special, but it was good enough for the current time. She picked them up and walked back over to the start of the pile, adding to it.

Ashe continued his silent rummaging through the rubble. Keeping a eye on Trish as he picked his way around several pieces of concrete from the ceiling, how it could lose so much material, he'd never know. He took out another berry from the pouch at his waist, and popped it in his mouth, he didn't like most canned foods, so of course he had to have his own stash of food. This didn't stop him from picking up two more cans of food, and a half-empty water bottle, before completing his circuit of his half of the gym's most likely spots on his side. He inwardly sighed, and loped back to the pile, and set down his stuff, then leaned against a large bit of rubble, and absently twirled another Necklace around his fingers, this one having come from a very close friend of his. And slowly he drifted off to a very light sleep, exhausted by their efforts in the past few days.
