Pokemon: The Strange Evolution

Sarah sighed as she shouldered her backpack, looking over Viridean Forest from a hill. It used to be so nice and green... Now crators, burnt areas, cut trees, and all sorts of war damage were across the area. All because of the stupid war. Sarah picked no side, she just wanted to live. Of course, she was also protecting three others. Her plan was to see if they could find a safe haven in Viridean City... at least for a little while. Sarah called out to the others. "You guys doing alright? Need a break before we go on?"

Valdis slowly walked forward, the landscape didn't seem to bother him in the slightest. Neither did the war itself for that matter, the problem it left was staying alive. Even he had to admit that finding a safe place to stay was the best course of action, and the sooner was the better.

"I don't need a break." he turned his head behind him, "I don't know about the other two though..."

"Speak for yourself, I'm fine right now." Trish responded a bit bluntly as she followed closely behind the other two, taking a look around the landscape. It's a shame really, but I have to admit I do like the whole burnt theme going on around here. Nice and homey. She thought to herself, showing a slight smirk as she continued to walk along with the group.

He stalked behind the others, watching the flames, he sighed, and shook his head at the waste. "I'm good." came his curt reply as he continued to follow behind in his silent fashion making sure none of the soldiers fighting back there would try to follow them, in his left hand he held a shadow ball, ready to fire it off at any pursuers. He twirled a small pendant of a Aron's head on his right hand, one that he picked up from a dead soldier he knew back in the forest, I should probably make a Grave for him, the flames will soon consume that poor guy... He chuckled quietly to himself, thinking of the once cheerful Aron-type that he had shared drinks with.

Sarah nodded and began leading the group forward. She never took the role of leader officially, but it was kinda just given to her. Perhaps it was her survival experience or maybe it was her ability to make hard decisions. Either way, Sarah was doing her best for the group. Sarah led them off road, ready to hide or fight if it came down to it. At this pce, It would take them a few hours to get through. Sarah preferred silence, but she didn't tell the others to not talk. The batles were moved on to Route One and Pallet Town. Still... you never knew.

Valdis remained in silence as he continued to walk. What was there to talk about after all? The bottom of his jacket brushed against a chunk of dying grass. Just get to where he needed to go. That was all that really mattered to him right now, then he would have more time to think about how the war would end.

He heard a crunching sound, his eyes darted around rapidly, an attack could have been anywhere. He looked down and realized that he just stepped on a discarded branch. Nothing to get worked over, nothing was going to get in the way of what they could only presume was safety.

Nothing at all.

In her boredom, Trish felt a fire light up at the fingertip of her thumb as she walked, and started to flourish her hand, passing the flame on to a different fingertip as she did so. Honestly despite her calm look she was a bit eager to get to a safe area that they could let their guard down at even if just for a few seconds. Of course, she knew that even that was a bit too much to ask for these days and she'd just have to deal with it. Hearing the snapping noise, her eyes quickly darted to the source of it and saw that Valdis had stepped on something. She lifter her gaze a bit and glared at him for a second before averting her eyes, wondering if anyone in the surrounding area had heard the snap and would investigate. After all, it was fairly quiet without anyone talking or doing anything.

The snapping of the branch caused Ashe to jerks his head up, looking at them, then shaking his head, he returned to his vigil on the rear, he continued to mess with the pendant, the memories of that particular soldier flowing into him from it, he knew the stories of Shedninja, and how they were told to steal souls, he shrugged off that thought though, every memory he had, he was somewhere around at the time. He absent-mindly watched the others, their faces a steadfast look on Sarah, fear or something akin to it on Vadlis, and on Trish's face was boredom, or at least that's what he thought he saw, he sighed, and flicking his finger, he sent a shadow ball at a leaf, cutting it in mid-air, after a few seconds, he generated a new skill he learned, one that consumed a TM he had bought from the Power side a while back, a small light formed in between his fingers, sucking in what little sunlight there was coming down at him, he smiled and let it go.

A sudden crash put Sarah on high alert and she ducked down into hiding, pulling down Trish as she did. She put her finger to her lips to let the others know to be quiet. Ahead of them was a man, having a rock like body. From the appearence and crest on his head, Sarah guessed Onix type. And he looked feral, smashing his fis into trees and splintering wood if not knocking them over. He saw them and slowly charged. "Split up! Left and right! No electric moves! Keep your distance as much as you can!" Sarah jumped to the right, her fist gatering blue energy. She rushed the man and used Ice punch in his face before jumping back. It did damage, but he was still fighting.

Valdis's eyes rushed. This was the worst situation for him. The one that made him useless. Life had given him electric moves after all, and there wasn't much he could do at the moment. It would be useless to go after the feral man. This was probably the only reason he really decided to stay with the group, as much as he hated it he couldn't take out everything. What a shame too, something like this deserves to be taken out.

However the only choice he had was to remain low, and let the others do most of the work.

Trish almost opened her mouth when she was pulled down but decided not to, since there was probably a good reason for it. She glanced at Sarah with a confused look before taking a quick look at what it was they were hiding from. Then it started to charge at them, but at least gave them a moment to pick a strategy. Making her choice, Trish jumped to the left and immediately turned back to the man swinging her arm at him from a distance and launching a ball of fire at him, while making sure to avoid hitting Sarah as she punched. This could be a bit interesting. She mused as she prepared herself for a next move.

Ashe heard the cry, then the bellow, and he saw his friends start a fight with a wild Onix. "Great......" This was the first word he had uttered since the burning of Viridian. He faded out, using shadow sneak to get up a tree above Trish, and aimed at the Onix, and started up the Charging process of his Solar-beam. His blue eyes gleaming in the shadows, as the Solar-beam shined in the Darkness as well. "Move!" He called out, again the second word he at uttered since Viridian had started to burn. And hoping that Sarah heard him, and fired the Solarbeam, its heat singeing the branches and his hair. Its Light arced out streaming towards the Onix at a immense speed, He rubbed his arm while he watched the beam, hoping that his aim was right, and Sarah had gotten out of the way....

The fire did little more than give a burn and enrage the Onix man. When she saw Ashe charging his LAZOR Solarbeam, Sarah used Mega Punch to keep him focused on her. She bobbed and weaved close as he attacked her, but the bright light attracted his attention. The man roared and got a face full of the beam. Sarah dodged it and the Onix fell to the ground. Once sure he was out, Sarah listened at his mouth. "Still alive. We're moving on before he awakes. C'mon." With that, Sarah went forward, expecting to be followed.

Valdis stood up and glanced at the man's body. Oh how tempting it would be to just zap him right here. But even now he was unsure how effective it would be, and he didn't want to deal with it waking up. Without saying another word or even acknowledging the others, he began to follow Sarah.

Having kept her distance for the remainder of the fight, Trish walked back over and nodded her head, following the other two and glancing back at the man they had just taken out. He would get back up some point and fight with others, in her opinion she thought they should just take him out there. It seemed nobody else in the group shared that opinion though, and not wanting to be antagonized she quietly followed behind, leaving him alone.
