Having a map, you'd think Raze had any idea where in the world he was going.

He let out a small sigh, scratching his head while holding the parchment in one hand. The map wasn't the best, but it would have to do. Raze couldn't make heads or tails of which route he'd taken, but he assumed that this was the famed Pecha Forest. He found this a bit comical considering he'd only seen a few berries. Most of them were either too high for him to reach or not ripe enough, so he left them be so he wouldn't be lugging them around. There weren't many serious threats inside so far, he hadn't even seen a single Pokémon, feral or civilized. But this was a pretty big deal for him. This is the first time that he had traveled far from home! He folded his map up and continued walking. Pecha Forest, huh... At least it's near Grassveil. Man, I can't wait to get there! Or... anywhere, really! This place is boring... he thought. Raze adjusted the small bag on his shoulder and continued onward.

Sanja: {19 - 5 (entrance) = 14}

A flash, a streak, only visible for seconds at a time darted through the forest. The brownish figure sprinted at top speed, head lowered like the front of a battering ram, looking as determined as ever. Sanja was in charge of the speeding feet and body that rocketed in a straight line through the smallish forest, dodging trees occasionally. Suddenly, the Eevee skidded to a halt just in front of the largest, most notable tree. She stood there, re-running the numbers through her head.

"Record time..." she grumbled with a self-indulgent smile. It had been far too many moons ago when she first had set her mind on concentrating all her training towards speed, and she had come a long way since then. She wouldn't say that she was the fastest Pokemon in existence, but she was pretty darn up there in the ranks. At least, the ranks of Pokemon she'd seen. She was certainly faster than most who lived in the forest with her, but as soon as that came across her mind, she shook off the memory. She didn't want to remember anything about her old life; it would just fill her with melancholy nostalgia. She had to focus on speed and nothing else.

Raze shook out of his boredom-induced trance at the distant sound of footsteps. They sounded faint at first, but then a tiny bit louder as seconds went by. They were coming closer, and fast at that. He turned to face where the noise had come from. "Hello? Anyone there?" he called out. Maybe it's just a feral... About time something happened! he thought.

He wasn't very equipped for a fight, having nothing but an empty bag and a partially useless map, but he didn't care at the moment. If I want to get stronger, I guess this is a decent first step. It's probably just a Rattata or something... he thought. Raze stretched a little bit, ready for whatever responded to his call.

Sanja: {14}

Sanja's tail swished once and she sat down, finally beginning to hear her own panting. Sometimes when caught up in the heat of speed, she wasn't even aware of her own body. Only just then did the tingling of her paws enter her sensing range, and she realized the sting on her pads was because of running across sharp rocks and twigs so many times just then. It hurt enough to make the Eevee limp, but she had to show strength. No one, not even feral Pokemon, were allowed to see any sign of weakness. Then they might think of it as a perfect time to ambush, thinking she's weak. I'd show them a thing or two about judgement... she thought violently, claws digging into the ground with aggression. She proceeded to unsheathe them and lick her pads, picking out any rocks and twigs that stuck in, and then walked beyond the tree, looking for something to perhaps fight and let out her anger on.

The normal type's long ears shot up as a voice sounded from beyond the trees. They flattened almost immediately afterwards, teeth bared in a snarl of annoyance. A civilized Pokemon had already taken note of her; perhaps it wasn't the best idea to run noisily through a forest that was popular for newbie, low-leveled weaklings to travel through. It was time to slip into her stealth and try to ensure that she stayed hidden. The last place she wanted to meet a Pokemon was in a forest, where other better civilized Pokemon wouldn't be able to see if she gets mugged and help her take down the enemy. Not to mention, this was unknown territory to the vulpine feline, and she could easily lose her bearings on safe ground, and might even struggle to pull off her guerrilla method of hunting. However, she was prepared to pursuit whoever came onto her path, and ready to strike hard. Follower beware.

The Minun hesitated at the growl, stopping for a second. That's weird, I don't know any Pokémon that growl like that. Guess this might be a bit harder than I thought... Raze noted. He adjusted his pack and tried to keep his cool, but it was obvious he was looking for a fight a few minutes earlier. Then it hit him: what if this wasn't a feral at all? I probably look like some creep lurking around a forest.

He had a small idea of where the Pokémon could be, but he couldn't see them. "Hey, you there? I don't mean you any harm." he said, realizing his mistake a bit late. Nice going, idiot. If I were them, I'd run like heck if a stranger said that... he thought. He didn't know who or what the growl game from, so he slowly crept forward and looked for the source. If the worst case scenario happened, he was preparing a Discharge as he searched. Considering his family wasn't with him, his attack wouldn't do as much as it used to, but he hoped that training had paid off.

Sanja: {14}

At the next call of the voice, Sanja unleashed a hiss that was much like that of a cat or snake. She would stand her ground and let whoever this is know that she was hostile and would not react kindly to a face, no matter how friendly. The words didn't even mean anything to the Eevee, she just entered a sort of primal mode that could only be exited... How?

As the creature crept forward, Sanja prepared to pounce, but hesitated. She lurked in the shadows, thinking of something better to do. She crept silently through the trees, always ensuring there was a tree between her and the stranger, until she made it behind the Pokemon. A bit of anticipation, waiting, watching for the perfect moment to strike...

The hesitation passed and she leapt into action, ran forward and nailed the Pokemon on the back, not in attack but only to push it onto the ground, a forepaw holding it down by the neck so it couldn't escape her grasp, another on its back, and her hind legs placed in a pattern so that she couldn't lose her balance nor be pushed back if the blue thing wanted to leap up. The strange rodent sent a sort of electric-charged current that tingled her forepaws, as if it was going to attack. Maybe this was a bad idea... Maybe it could unleash electricity and hurt her after all? But she didn't hold back, and growled through gritted teeth, "What do you want."

{OOC: You want to roll first or should I?}

Raze barely had time to see it. Rather, had he seen it, he wasn't able to register what had just happened. He had been startled so bad that he stopped his Discharge, been pushed and pinned to the floor by a foxlike creature, his bag and map flew off of his shoulder and under a nearby tree, and he was now facedown in the dirt. "O-Ow! Hey, what was that for? I said I wasn't a threat!" he shouted. Despite how small a hit he had taken, it stung a lot once he was held down.

He was preparing another Discharge, but only succeeded in making himself a bit more charged. The ground absorbed most of the electricity before he could muster enough to release. No feral fights like that. Damn, this girl means business... he thought. At least he knew she was civilized and could probably be reasoned with. "Can you get off of my neck please? You kinda attacked me before I can explain." Raze had another mental facepalm. He had no idea what she even wanted from him, not that he had anything to give.

Sanja: {14}

At the electric type's request was to be lifted from the pressure, Sanja only pressed down harder.
"Answer my question," she hissed firmly, then repeated, "What do you want from me? Money? Items? Valuables? Because it ain't happening."

The Eevee tried to refrain from unsheathing her claws again. As much as she wanted to tear this Pokemon's throat out for evading her question, she had to stay calm. As they said back in the Clan, you should never greatly harm a Pokemon unless there is a very good reason, and fainting them should be only a last resort. However, this Pokemon was greatly aggravating her, so it might just be a possibility. It was even evident that it was trying to attack her, so she had every right to be this harsh.

{OOC: I'll roll after they meet, sounds good. And just so I don't forget later on, I'll start posting this on every RP post. o3o vvv}
Energy: 17

Raze gagged when the Pokémon pressed harder on his throat. "Get off! I only wanted directions, honest!" He had to shallow his breathing to not pass out, but with his racing heart, he had a bit of difficulty stopping the adrenaline pumping through his veins. God, lady! Just get off of me so I can just spit it out already! he screamed in his head. Guess it's kinda my fault, I did sound really shady before... dammit.

"Look, I'm sorry that I wanted to attack you earlier! I thought you were a feral! I mean, I'm new around here, how was I supposed to know you were civilized?!" he shouted. After a quick pause, he began once more. "Can we just start over right now? You know, without the whole 'about to kill me thing' happening again, okay? M-My name's Raze, what's yours?" He really didn't mean to stutter, but the fact that she could potentially end him here and now was getting to him.

Sanja: {14}

The normal type huffed angrily as the electric mammal panicked, and she leaned off the Pokemon, shifting her paws downward so there was less pressure, but she'd still be able to detect when he would try to escape or attack. However as soon as he started shouting, she pressed down a little harder and a little higher, right on his ribcage. It went into a full panicked rant, and as soon as it seemed to finish, Sanja calmly opened her mouth to speak, but snapped it back shut as the Pokemon continued hurriedly.

A single ear twitched in annoyance, and her tail swished in response. "I am Sanja, and I'll be your worst nightmare if you dare deceive me," she snarled once more, realizing she probably should've given a pseudoname. Then again, no one even knew who she was, so it didn't matter. Although she did greatly wish that giving away her identity would result in connections to Pokemon who knew her Clan and what might've happened to them. Those were the only Pokemon Sanja would ever truly trust.

{OOC: Okay, rolling. Vegas, baby! :D So, I believe I repost Energy on my next post and apply what I roll...}
Energy: 17

The Electric type decided to tone it down a bit, realizing he'd gotten a bit loud. "Nice to meet you, Sanja. Heh, sorry for getting a bit loud on you there. I do that... a lot." Raze chuckled softly. Maybe he'd taken his usual rant a bit too far, but it at least scored him a name from the strange Pokémon he could now recognize as an Eevee.

Perhaps I should watch what I say around Sanja, at least until she gets a little bit less violent... he thought with a small smile. "So, um... do you think you could help me out here? I need to find Grassveil Town, but my map isn't that helpful. It's the town with the Guild in it, right?" he asked. He decided to keep a bit of small talk for later on and just focus on getting to the town first.

Sanja: {14}

The Eevee had backed off the Minun already, but she still glared intently at him, aware of anything he might attempt. Any change in his expression, any alteration was suspicious, especially the minuscule grin he bore just before he spoke. Why should I help you, she thought bitterly, but then took a deep breath and tried to calm down. She really had no reason to be angry.

"Now listen," she said in a semi-cracking voice. It wasn't that she was emotional, this was what her actual voice sounded like when she wasn't being suspicious and shady. "As much as I want to help, I've got some business to do. If you're looking for Grassveil, it's that way," she explained, gesturing behind her with a single "thumb" claw, then proceeded to walk forwards past Raze a bit, expecting him to respond but hoping he wouldn't.

{OOC: Alrighty, sounds good. I'll grab that berry after a post or two. And wow, what a fast conversation. Let's change that... ;)}
Energy: 17 - 1 (roll's results) = 16

The Cheering Pokémon couldn't help but hear the voice crack from Sanja. Something was wrong with this "business" of hers, and he wanted to find out what. "Is something wrong? Just a second ago you were giving me nightmare fuel, and now..." he trailed off. As much as he knew it was blunt, he knew something was bothering her.

"Thanks for the directions, but if you don't mind me asking, what is this 'business' of yours?" Part of him wanted to grab his bag and hightail it out of the forest, but he still had that nagging thought of aiding the Eevee. "Anything I could help you with?"

Sanja: {14}

Sanja eyed him uncomfortably. "MY VOICE JUST SOUNDS LIKE THIS, DWEEB. When I'm not growling lowly at my enemies" she finished, approaching him dangerously in her dark voice once more. Was he trying to agitate her? It's not the Eevee's fault that she was born which such a throat that sounded pubescent and scratchy every time she spoke. Then again, she liked how it made her sound unique and cool.

As if it wasn't worse enough of what this guy was saying, he continued to question her. Sanja simply rolled her eyes. "In case you couldn't tell from the way I was speeding through the forest, I'm a top-speed racer, so I'm training every day. You couldn't possibly help, thanks." The Eevee's pure awesomeness couldn't possibly get any higher with "help", although if the Minun would stick around to compare her speed to, she supposed it would make her look better. Perhaps around 20% cooler.

"S-Sorry, I didn't mean it like that!" Raze said, backing up. Starting a fight like this didn't appeal to him, especially since Sanja wasn't exactly the best person to battle with considering they'd just met. That, and he liked having internal organs that didn't bleed. Note to self: Sanja is pretty sensitive about things, watch what you say. he thought.

The Minun was about to begin walking over to his bag, but stopped as Sanja explained what she was doing. Oh, so you think you're pretty fast, huh? he wondered. "I don't think I'm convinced about that. Let's race," he stated with a smirk. "Let's see... How about to that tree and back?" Raze pointed to the tree across of the one where his bag had flown. "Winner gets... ah! That Pecha Berry! How about it?"
