Hero Sign Up RP

In a world where superhero sponsoring is a big business thing, Trainees have just passed their exams and have been deemed official superheroes. The squad's first assignment: Rob a bank and allow yourself to be beaten. Turns out every crime and murder spree that a superhero has saved is SCRIPTED. The public knows none of this and worship the false heroes, who know nothing of real crime situations and turn blind eyes on them. Those with bad grades in the academy are the villains, and those with the best are the heroes. Those who turn against the agency are either blackmailed or killed off, those with the best grades aren't even aware that the scenarios are scripted! Then, when a truly evil organization comes along, the major heroes flee in terror. Will the trainees, who have little training and battle experience be able to defeat this force? Or might they push up daisies and be chased after the rest of the heroes?

Rules:
1. No God Modding or OVERPOWERING
2. Stick to the posting order
3. You may only have ONE power!
4. Be reasonable on what your powers are and put LIMITS on them! For example, you can shape shift but you have to put some kind of limit on it, like you can only change into mammals or aquatic creatures, or maybe creatures from a certain prehistoric era.
5. No powerplaying you can only play as your character.
6. you have 3 days to post, if you do not post without notice you will be skipped. if it happens twice in a row you will be removed from the rp.
7. If a lot of people want to join(Such as what happened in Life) multiple threads will be opened.I will rp as an actual chara in each. Each "room" has a max of four people besides me.
8.With powers: When i say power, it basically means theme. For example, you can change into a magpie and be able to throw poison tipped feathers at the foe and maybe do a few other bird like things. Another example is Fire. Maybe your character could set themselves on fire, and be able to shoot things on fire and set a certain substance(Something rarely found of course) on fire.

Real Name: Emelia DeWitt
Public Name: Magpie
Gender: Female
History: Emelia found out about her shapeshifting power at an extremely young age whilst exploring and kept it a secret until her thieving tendencies got too much for her and she began to use it whilst stealing things. A magpie guise -she thought- was a good way to get in undetected, until one unlucky heist, they caught her on a hidden camera as she changed form and after finding out promptly sent her to Hero school. Despite the fact that she is only 15, she has quite a record when it comes to thieving and after being designated a Villain by the exams, they blackmailed her using her previous thefts to keep her doing what they wanted, saying they'd try her as an adult for her repeat offences if she didn't go along with the scripted villainy.
Personality: Despite how Emelia might initially come across, she is actually a rather intelligent and creative female, coming up with the idea to utilize the feathers she loses in her various forms, fashioning them into darts and sometimes even tipping those darts with various poisons. Despite this, Emelia's guilty pleasure is her love for the thrill of thievery. She likes to see what she can get away with when attempting to steal desirable objects, though she usually does end up giving everything back to their original owners in some way or another.
Appearance: Magpie is recognizable by the black and white themed clothing she always wears. Her long hair is jet black though her skin is rather pale. Magpie can also be identified by her eyes, a cyan blue-green colour like the iridescent sheen of a magpie's feathers and the two magpie feathers attached to a clip that she wears to keep part of her hair out of her face.

Weakness: Terrified of cats as well as various firearms. She is also surprisingly susceptible to the unique poison she uses, however only she knows how to make it.
Restraint: Emelia can only shapeshift into birds - she mostly favours the form of a generic Eurasian Magpie. Through this she is also adept at mimicry(as in voices and sounds) and singing.

History: He grew up with a semi-normal childhood on a small island similar to Hawaii, his father having a one night stand and leaving him with his mother. His mother cared for him and sent him to school. Nick behaved in classes and had many friends! He never spent much time around computers, so he never learned of his ability. He even had a girlfriend named Alexandra. She made him his green scarf on their one year anniversary. He had been just about to ask her to get married when a tsunami caused them to become stranded on the roof of his house, his mother drowned and he and his girlfriend were stranded on the roof tops. It turns out, the tsunami had been caused by a villain. Once the villain was defeated, they saw a hero flying, on their way back to wherever they came from. They cried for help but were ignored. Days passed and they soon began to grow hungry, neither of them knew how to swim and the nearest bit of solid land or something to even walk on was miles away. The entire area had been sunk under the water due to the bowl shaped valley they were in. As if to rub salt in the wounds, the villain that had caused the tsunami had infested the area with sharks, so even touching the water was a bad idea. As they grew hungry, so did the sharks. The sharks began to bump into the bad tin like roof, causing it to rumble. Eventually they began to smash into it like battering rams. The roof collapsed with him and Alexandra on it. The two fell into the water, and Alex was the first to be eaten. Nick had been saved by a pitying hero just in time after nearly drowning AND being eaten by sharks. He was struck by grief when he saw Alex die and learned of his mother's death, smashed his hand into a keyboard and disappeared into it. That was when he and the government discovered his power, and he was sent to Hero school. He graduated, in hopes to become a superhero BETTER than the one that had ignored them. His hopes were crushed when he discovered that everything was scripted, and he was to be a villain. He tried to quit out, but was blackmailed. The agency claimed that they had evidence that he was really a terrorist, and if he didn't comply he would be killed. They promised to at least hide his identity, but the information was leaked by his sponsors so they would keep getting more business. This forced him to become a full time villain. He has yet to go complete his first evil deed.

Appearance: Brown messy hair and green eyes. He wears a brown cloak and occasionally a green scarf but prefers to keep it safe. He's below average in height and is fairly skinny. He always wears pants. He has gold steampunk goggles that keeps his messy hair out of his eyes, only wears these on the job.

Power:He can invade machinery at the touch and do as he wills like a virus. If it has some kind of protection like firewalls and such he must battle against it. If he is "Deleted" then he will be forced out of the machine and back into the real world. For real world fights he has an electric claw that can grab foes and solid objects and either throw them around or drag himself to the claw like a grapple hook. He can send electric shocks through it. His claw has a bazooka option that he built into it, it's a one time and absolute last resort use considering it would blow his arm off and possibly kill him.
Weakness:Water, he is terrified and can't swim. He grows paralyzed with fear at the touch of it. He can drink it like normal and bathe but water in large amounts, like a river, pool, lake ect. is too much for him.

History: Originally Edmund was intending to become a detective. He had read And Then There Were None, Sherlock Holmes, and he also read a variety of books written by Edmund Wilson. This lead to the young American boy, and this boy loved British literature. Thusly he was picked on by many bullies for being a nerd. For quite some time he never read or had interest in comic books and heroes. However when he was picked on he became depressed, and looked at his father's old comic books from when he was a kid. His father was shot while away at war, and his mother left his father as she wanted to have an abortion, so when he convinced her not to she divorced and gave him custody.

When his father died Edmund inherited all his fathers possessions. He never read the comic books unless he was particularly sad, though one of the comic books had a small strip, in the back. It was a motivational comic, it showed someone standing up at school for one of their peers, and ended in "Be a real life hero, stand up for your friends." In that moment, something changed inside Edmund. He became greatly interested in comic books. He still loved British literature, too, but he read comic books almost as much as he did all his detective stories now.

Soon, when he went to school, he saw the only gay kid being bullied. Everyone picked on him... But something happened, Edmund stood up and gave a forceful shove to the bullies. When they came back with a fist, he grabbed it and flipped the kid over his shoulder. He used his own energy against him. It wasn't quite the same as the power he would gain, but it was similar. He gained a reputation, he would fight any bully. In fact the school became the most friendly in miles, some as a result of fear, some as freedom.

He began to learn the fighting technique push-hands. Very similar to what he did to the bully that one day, you use leverage and the opponents power against them. Being an originally Chinese form of fighting he would also meditate. One day he was meditating about using the opponents power against them in school while meditating when some bully dared to punch him. And something happened. A orange flash and he began glowing softly, and the more the bully punched the brighter he glowed. Finally he stood up, he punched the bully... and with the force of all of the punches the bully laid and the power of Edmund all went into the gut of Richard Smith, sending him flying across the gym.

This day it clicked, he was a superhero. He had superpowers. He was... Sir Locke! The detective avenger! Well, perhaps not a professional, but aspiring if nothing else. He eventually would go to a superhero academy instead of becoming a detective. It was an interesting fit, he was a tad pretentious since he had become the most threatening kid in the school. His original motive of protecting the good had crumbled and he just wanted to look good. So much in fact the few people who had conspired the superhero academy becoming about fake villains suspected he was behind it, but he wasn't. But man did he love winning so often. He never won 100% of the time before hand.

Eventually the comic books laid, forgotten in an apartment. Edmund's foster parents sold them on Ebay, he never seemed to care. With that his aunt and uncle became beyond rich. This made Edmund green with envy and red with hate, he was like a walking Christmas tree for weeks. Still, perhaps a good beating by a true villain would make Edmund remember his true place in his world, fighting for the weak, like his father did, and like he once did long ago.

Appearance: Edmund wore a brown trench coat, black slacks, and a dark grey shirt. He had brown eyes and hair, and was fairly pale, though not much more than an average Caucasian. He was very thin, and stood at 6'5" with lengthy fingers. He often wore a fedora for effect, and even had a magnifying glass that he seldom used.

Power: Kinetic absorption- The power to take any rapid transfer of kinetic energy and then use it, for example, if he is punched, he can use that punch and add it to the kinetic energy of his own. strength. He can furthermore use it where he would like, for example if a villain were to punch him in the gut, he could add that kinetic energy to a kick. He can divide the kinetic energy, take one punch used on him and add half of that force to two different strikes. The amount of kinetic energy absorbed has no limit.

Weakness: If he has energy stored for over a half hour he becomes unstable, potentially damaging himself or others. If he does not have enough kinetic energy within a week he becomes drained, tired, and weak.

Restraint: Cannot absorb energy from non-physical attacks, i.e. fire, water, air, energy, light, heat, cold, radiation, electricity, ect. Furthermore cannot absorb kinetic energy as a direct result from weight, for example an enemy puts him under an elephant he cannot use the weight on him from the elephant. He cannot discharge energy without physical contact. Physical contact consists of being un-contacted then suddenly being in contact, again being under a weight doesn't count. When he is physically contacted he can prevent taking damage when absorbing the energy, however weight will hurt him.

History: He was inducted when he was a baby, out of nowhere, and raised in the academy. He had extremely good grades, but come graduation time, he was nowhere to be found, his room had a hole in wall, and he had left, with a note on his bed reading, 'I know.' The hunt for him went on, but he could not be found by the Elder Heroes. Several Times he clashed with them though, always getting away, injured, but causing major devastation in the process, this was in deserted locations though, where no innocents could really be hurt. Eventually he was deemed a menace after coincidentally killing one of the heroes, he disappeared. He was then rumored to be behind stopping a plague in south america, and stopping a volcano from erupting in Hawaii. He is still unaccounted for though. And Considered a 'True' Villain, as he killed one of the Heroes, and now they try and avoid him, and his 'evil'.

Appearance: Trench Duster, with a yin-yang symbol on his right arm, while on the other he has a theater mask that is half black, half white, with the smile-frown on it. With a Hood Pulled up over his head, over Gray Metal Armor. His face is hidden by the hood.

Real Name: Jack Fontaine
Public Name: Sole Chiaro
Gender: Male.
History: Jack was the son of a drug dealer and a(n unknown to him at least) woman, who died during childbirth. He was raised by his father and quite often used by him as he got older, his youth making him seem like an unlikely person to be taking part in these kinds of things. Jack never understood what he was doing and how badly people's lives were being ruined with his unwitting help, until he was older and used as a distraction for somebody who knew too much about his father's drug dealing, and this man was killed in front of him by his father. After that Jack started questioning everything, and started to discover what he had really been doing in the past. Eventually his father's workings caught up to him and he was caught, being thrown in jail without Jack knowing this. He woke up the next day alone, and eventually during that day heard of his father's predicament. He decided to go to the jail and talk to him, but after sneaking in with the use of his powers passed out after using it too much. With the incident caught on camera, he was sent to the Hero School. He never believed himself to be a hero, but thought he could finally stop being a pawn to others if he did go. And then he graduated and was forced to become a villain. Now he's just started to resign himself to his fate of being used and being on the side he doesn't believe in.

Appearance: Jack has shaggy blonde hair with bangs that go down to his eyes, though it's usually kept under a gray fedora he wears over it. He wears a black suit with a white button down shirt and red tie underneath, along with a red scarf. He wears matching formal black pants and black dress shoes. In a holster on his right side he carries a grappling-hook gun with him, about the size of a handgun.

Hero or Villain: Villain.
Power: Jack can bend light particles around him, having the ability to use them to make himself invisible or fire them in beam form with electromagnetic properties thanks to the photons involved in light particles.
Weakness: Jack can't work with what he doesn't have, and thus needs a light source with him in order to work his powers, therefore he is weaker in the dark. Also, he has a fear of thunderstorms and electricity due to past experiences.
Restraint: Using his powers often will burn Jack's energy in the process, and thus using too much can make him pass out, or worse, spontaneously combust. On top of that due to the electromagnetic properties of light particles he is slowly being affected and killed by the electromagnetism building up in his body. He has no idea when he'll finally go, but then again he no longer cares about that, or so he says.

History: All I can say about her is that she was abused by her Father. Over time her heart grew dark and cold. She wished a hero would take her away from her dark world, but no one ever did. By the time she discovered her power to turn into a dragon, along with the added effect of absorbing electricity. Raven committed her first evil act in killing her abusive parent. The government took her to "Witness Protection" but that didn't stop her from doing bad things. With low grades and no friends, she soon found joy in seeing others cowering in fear. She loved seeing their wide eyes and trembling bodies as she showed them her Dragon form. Frightening them even further she would absorb a small but of electricity and discharge it into the air. Now she is merely a villain for the so called hero's to beat her up. Now she wait's for her first assignment as a True Villain.

History: Kari lived her life averagely, well as average as you can get from smiling rarely after all. She was generally ignored for all her life until around the age of 10, when her house burned down in a fire WHY AM I THINKING OF ALICE NOW? THANKS NOCI /hit caused by a Villain's "Rage". She and her younger sister were saved by a hero, but her older brother, mother, and father perished in the fire. A few months later, Yukari started to show signs of being affected by the smoke and slowly started slipping away. Hoping that Yukari's lungs would clear up, she accidently used her water magic, causing a very soaked but amazed sister. A day later she received the message to go to Hero Academy, and agreed to thinking it would find some way to save her sister. However this was not the case and Yukari died without anyone there to support her. This was covered up and hidden, and they caused Kari to think that they were healing Yukari. Motivated Kari proceeded to get great grades and hide her emotions in a different way, with a smile.

In graduation she, due to her grades, became a hero yada yada yada.....

Kari's originally had short black hair and blue eyes, with a pale complexion but rarely smiled even when she was really happy about something. After she went to the acadamy she grew her hair out and started smiling more. Then she became insane and dyed her hair lime green, Kari what were you thinking?

Power: Water, meaning she can make water appear in the air, or make it colder and turn it into ice spears/daggers/crystals. Her power is limited to making stuff out of what is there, including water vapor so her power can be increased or decreased depending on where she is at.
Weakness: Kari is afraid of fire, due to her history, thus and due to the fact everything evaporates so fast, her power is nonexistent and she freaks out.
Restraint: there actually needs to be water in the air or some form to actually use her power and the less there is the harder it is to form water, and she cannot freeze the ice. She cannot touch the water she creates from air so unless she is directly in the water, she cannot use the water/ice as some type of transportation.

Just an idea but I think you should have a roughly even amount of Villains and Heroes in each group. Otherwise the concept of having those who actually think they're helping by defeating the other villains is useless.
Obviously a total even group isn't possible with five per group, but maybe two heroes and three villains? I noticed that the villain place is more popular. (I would switch over but I chose Villain because my character seemed more suited to it after I brainstormed her personality ideas |D)

Anyway for example in the group i'm in, Kat, me, Pika, Tenshi and Ashe are all villains. There is no hero variation and no opportunity for those plotlines and perhaps an initial confusion about allying with the designated 'villains' (since the heroes don't know they're staged and may at first think they're still actual villains.)

Also whilst I'm here can I ask why nerdyned was switched out of our group?
I've never RPed with him before and was looking forward to the chance. :<
