Traveling through Unknown Territory [[Open]]

It had been a few days since Zeri was banished from his tribal grounds, everything in his life disappearing slowly from view as he continues to wander through the forest towards the every setting sun. A sigh escapes from this young Pawniard's maw as the minutes seem to drag onto hours within his mind, the sun setting slowly over the canopy of trees. Thankfully at least it was a clear sky hanging overhead, Zeri smiling at this fact as if it meant anything to him. For some reason though it seemed as if the forest was too quiet for the time of day, the nocturnals should be awakening at this time... course this being Shadowhue forest probably all the Pokemon here were nocturnal.

"Ugh... this is going to a rather boring night if nothing truly interesting happens. Might as well make a quick nest for the evening."

Looking around the vicinity, Zeri found himself a small hole under a tree, peeking inside it to find no Pokemon nesting inside, the Pawniard then exploring the area to gather leaves and the such to make a comfortable bed in the dirt inside the hovel. Taking his time to make sure it is well crafted, Zeri begins to also search for food nearby his hidden hole in the ground. The wind was slowly begin to pick up, nothing too uncomfortable but it was beginning to feel rather nice even though he was all alone out here...

It had been a while since Zeri had met another civilized pokemon that wasn't going to attack him on sight... it probably wouldn't had ended nicely if they did have a battle, he was low on energy as it was, that Cacnea was dangerous with its Dynamic Punch... luckily he didn't land a hit. His eyes began to adjust to the darkness that was slowly closing in around the den, his body tired but his mind was wide awake with the adrenaline from the fight.. thankfully his dark side sort of grants him a limited range of vision in the dark. Probably would stand guard out here for a bit before heading off to bed, if he didn't fall asleep out here...

"I'd rather find my own way around... probably would have helped if I had a pack with me to carry my supplies in. I am heading towards the Guild in the next town to look into some work, probably find someone to be in a team with."

Z shrugged slightly and takes the final bite from the apple, having eaten the entire thing before putting his blades behind his head and relaxes where he is. The sun had fully set now, darkness surrounding the den like the leaves around a Swadloon. It was now almost deafening how hard the rain was coming down, Zeri getting slightly annoyed at how little he could hear... leaning over to cut a bush at the root and crawls his way into the hovel under the tree... using the bush as a makeshift door to cover the hole with, burying the bit of root that was still there and pegging it with the Cacnea Spike.

Acro couldn't help but fall asleep inside the makeshift den. The rythem of the rain and his weariness and lulled him to slumber. He curled up in a ball and dove into a sea of dreams.

He woke to the sound of scuffling. He woke and walked out of the den to investigate, he head the sound of fleeing footsteps. He decided not to worry about it and looked around, wondering where the pawinard had disappeared to. He noticed that water puddles littered the ground and the dirt was still a bit muddy. This signaled that the rain must have just recently ended. He looked up at the sky to see a few traces of clouds that looked thin and slim. He yawned again and moved to take a step, to find that his foot was stuck in the mud.

He pulled at his foot as much as he could, when he finally freed one foot the other became stuck! He sighed in frustration and tried to think of a better solution to free himself. He couldn't fly out of here like a normal bird pokemon, and he couldn't use any other element to help him. He saw a stick that looked just within reach of his wings. He stretched himself and tried to grab the thick stick, maybe he could lever himself out of this problem! To his misery, he fell completely into the mud face first.

The dawn had just begun to rise in the sky, the rain had long since ceased which woke Zeri from his long night of sleep... he moved the bush out of the way and took his Cacnea Spike from the dirt, looking around to see the two pokemon having stayed where they were knocked out the night before... his stomach growled as he looks towards the Weedle near the tree, turning to see Acro still sleeping before he crawls out of the den and slowly makes his way through the mud field. His movements keep him from the stickier bits of mud, living off the land had its perks at teaching one where to step after a rainy day. Reaching the unconscious Weedle, Zeri leans down and takes the Cacnea Spike in hand, letting it easily slide into the being's neck and ending its life... time to eat.

It has been a bit since Zeri ate meat, the bug type being a little more bone than meat but it was filling none the less as he finishes up in a few minutes, the bones being buried in the ground to honor its spirit. Turning Z notices the Cacnea had begun to run away, its partner being devoured by the Pawniard being too much for it he guesses... noticing Acro coming out of the den and getting stuck in the mud. This Zeri found quite funny before he begins to move through the mud fields again towards Acro, It didn't take long before Zeri was next to Acro...

"It would seem as if you're having problem walking through the mud, have you never lived in a rainy place before?"

"I prefer sunny, dry, and to put it in one word, arid." Acro picked himself up, he shook off some mud in disgust, "Great." he thought, "Now i'm going to have to wash myself with water." he shook off a bit more, his entire underbelly was coated in mud and his feathers had began to stick together.

"Know any streams around here?"he asked. He scratched at the mud, trying to get the clingy stuff off. He glared at the mud-print of himself on the ground with distaste. If he hadn't been covered in mud though, he would have found it funny. He started to look on the bright side though, mud was supposed to be good for the skin right? Also he wasn't stuck in the mud anymore! He saw the stick he had been reaching for and kicked it angrily out of sight.

Zeri chuckles softly before he moves over to the kicked stick and picks it up, this could come in handy if need be... walking back over to Acro he looks around the area as if something could jump out and attack them at any second... which is true. Thinking on what to do for his next move, Zeri turns towards the direction of Pecha forest, wondering if he should explore this area a little more or move on... maybe getting some advice from his new friend would help out...

"Hey Acro, should I explore the Shadowhue some more, would it be easier to go to Pecha forest and explore there for a bit before moving on to the Guild to make my team?"

His eyes turn to look down at the now mud covered Archen, he almost felt antsy for a fight now that he had devoured the flesh of a foe... feeling much stronger than he did yesterday. Pokemon were tougher here for him than back around his home.. new tactics and strategies for combat were becoming easier to grasp...

"You're just starting out right?" Acro shook his feathers a bit once more in another attempt to rid the mud that clung to his feathers like needy babies. Acro huffed in annoyance and gave up,

"ShadowHue and Pecha are good places to start, they're both basically beginner areas in my opinion. I've had tough times in both areas, but my wing attack should be able to take out a lot of pokemon in both areas. Long story short: Your choice. Pecha you'll find mostly Pecha berries, but you can stick around here and try to find yourself a defense scarf like mine."

Acro fixed his muddy scarf a bit, it was brown from the mud but he kept it on. The scarf was the only thing that kept his ability from activating yesterday and fainting. He had the defeatist ability. If his health went below 50%, his power would take a massive die and he would lose his will to fight. He hated that ability but he had no control over it, so he dealt with it.

Zeri thought about this choice of his that he had to make, his eyes roaming greatly over the large expanse of Shadowhue forest, wondering how long it would take him before he found himself a Defense Scarf. He didn't have to hurry to the guild, but he didn't want to dilly dally either, thus the conundrum. Looking towards the direction he knew as the way to Pecha forest, he then thought of what would be out there, what could he find within a forest known for its abundance of Pecha berries... yeah, not too much of a brainer there as he looks over to Acro and nods slowly

"I believe it would be within my best interests to find one of these Defense Scarves that are around here... Even though I am made of steel, it would be best to have as much defense as possible."

The Pawniard decided to follow through with his plan and began to search around the current area, perhaps there was a buried object in the dirt that was brought to the surface with the rain and mud. Using the stick to probe the muddy pools before making any steps to see if there were any hidden sink spots, as his feathered friend had discovered...

"Hey, what's that over there?" Acro pointed to a strange mound of mud that looked like it was buried in a hurry. He pulled his feet out of the mud in an almost comical manner and approached the mound. He uncovered it for the Pawniard and handed the item to the steel pokemon, not really wanting it. Even though he hadn't see what it was through the dirt.

"Looks like a sitris berry." He spoke. "It's a bit dirty though, but a good wash in a stream would probably make it edible."

Acro awaited for Zeri's reply, as he did so he wondered how the pawinard would do as a rescue team member. He wondered what kind of partner the pokemon might have if he decided to get one. Acro was then reminded of George, who he hadn't quite been hanging out with lately. He shrugged the thought aside and began trekking toward the smell of water, he wanted to wash the mud off. They might find a Defense Scarf for Zeri while they were at it.

'Kill two pidgeys with one stone' he thought.

Zeri takes the Sitrus berry from Acro, looking it over before putting this under his arm and begins to follow Acro as he goes towards the scent of water, which was a good thing to find... that Weedle had gotten Zer's thirst up quite a bit. The sky was rather clear today with only a slight cold breeze coming about to give the two a little company, a rather beautiful day in anyone's standards. Slowly the duo makes their way to the epicenter of the scent of water to find a smallish river, an area where there didn't seem to be that many Pokemon coming around... it was still a little early in the day so maybe there would be some visitors to the river later on. Zeri bends over the river's edge and begins to wash the Sitrus berry's skin, softening it and removing the grime of mud from it.

The area around them was some form or other silent, nothing stirring the bushes or the tall grasses besides the wind and dew dropping from the leaves above. The wind today had a bit of chill to it due to the last night's rain... Zeri's spine gives a small shudder as the water also had a nice chill to it, bending down to begin drinking his fill before turning to Acro;

"So what brought you to Shadowhue in the first place? Some training of your own?"

Acro approached the water as well and dipped his body into the water. He kept his distance from Zeri so when he bathed the pokemon wouldn't get covered in water. The archen shook in the water and ruffled his feathers so the water would grab the mud and get out. He was soon clear of water and his scarf was damp, but clean. Acro crawled out of the water and shook once more so he was now clear of water and mud and could still move quickly.

"So what brought you to Shadowhue in the first place? Some training of your own?"

The Pawinard had asked him, Acro nodded he had come for both some training and to see if there was anything else of importance in this forest. He had been to Pecha and Shadow hue the most, and had explored the Monochrome falls with two buizels before.

He spoke, "Yeah, i also came to do a little exploring. It's boring sitting around the guild doing nothing, and the town have just too many pokemon around for me to be comfortable. The stangers there can be a bit frightening some times."

He noticed an odd looking hole in a tree with something hanging/poking out from it from the corner of his eye, he walked over to it and reached his beak in there and pulled it out. He had found something!

Zeri's eyes followed Acro's to the hole in the tree and noticed the item hanging there, watching as he went to the tree and picked the item up using his beak to find a Cherri berry that had been hidden for maybe a later date or perhaps stored for bad weather. Zeri turns back towards the water before hopping in and putting both arms on either side of the bank as he relaxes in the flow of the waters... his body becoming used to the cold quite quickly as he relaxes and gets the kinks from the battle yesterday from his system. Looking towards the sky his mind begins to wander with thoughts on the guild and if he should actually join it or become a freelancer... course becoming a guild member was the only way he could actually get work to become stronger... He was a few days if not a week from reaching the guild anyway, thoughts that could be saved for a later date. With his attention rapped, he moves his gaze to stare at the Archen, wondering what the creature's strengths were, perhaps even his weaknesses, knowing every possible opponent was how he was taught anyway...

His time in the river had come to a close before he knew it, slowly moving to come out of the waters before slipping on a loose rock and becoming submerged in the clear waters, coming up for a quick breath before blinking slightly... he thought he saw something down there covered up by the dirt... taking in a deep breath Zeri quickly goes back down and begins searching through the waters with his claws...

Acro sniffed the cheri berry, tempted to eat it. He decided against it and placed it in his team bag. He watched Zeri relax before relaxing on his own, far from the water though of course. He sat in the sun and enjoyed the rays, not noticing Zeri dive down and grab an item. He watched the sky and identified shapes in clouds, he could find many kinds of food, but no pokemon. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the sound of the river, he heard a loud splash and opened his eyes to see Zeri resurfacing from the dive in the chilly water.

"Find something good?" he asked.

He stayed where he was, not really wanting to become close to the water again. He wasn't a duck and he couldn't float. If he goes too deep into the water he would sink like a rock and drown to death. He shivered at the thought of a watery grave, he wondered why there had to be just so much water on the world. There were places he couldn't even go without water being in his path. He certainly couldn't fly over it, yet. He wondered if he would evolve soon, and be an archeops. He had heard of a guild run by an archeops, maybe he could join that guild and take over it once he's evolved. He could run a guild and help others in both dreams and from danger!

Zeri's head breaches the surface of the cold water and crawls his way onto the shore, shaking some of the water from his face before placing the item in his hand onto the ground near Acro.... a reviver seed. Sitting down on the bank with a heave of breath, raising a thumbs up to Acro before picking up the strange seed in his claw, grinning slightly...

"Yeah, found a Seed, from the scent on it I would say it's a Reviver Seed. Really good find at the bottom of a river."

He lays against the ground and holds the seed above him to take a good look at it in the sunlight, his steel body slowly drying off... hopefully he doesn't rust. So far today he'd found himself a sitrus berry and now a reviver seed, what luck he had, but the defense scarf he so wanted eluded him so far. Looking back over to Acro he sees the Cheri berry go into an explorer sack...

"I hear only Explorers only get those bags, they really should sell them to anyone, some pokemon have no desire to be part of a team."

"Nice." Acro exclaimed when he saw the reviver seed. He wondered why he didn't have such luck with items like that. He always found the mostly useless items that heal status conditions or had no use at all. The only time he got lucky was when he found the defense scarf, he didn't remember just how long it took for him to find it though. H hadn't even been looking for it.

He smiled and stood and looked at the seed a bit before sitting back down and saying, "Usually when you're searching for a specific thing it takes a lot longer to show up than normal. "I don't know why it's like that but i've never had a time where i found something quickly." He looked at the river, "So it'll probably take a while, or I could just be jabbering nonsense and a defense scarf could be lying around on the ground nearby."

"As for the sacks, i'm not sure why they do that. Maybe it's to verify who's a rescue team and who isn't. Pokemon can make fake badges too...but aren't the badges more difficult to fake than the bags?" he sighed and shook his head, "I'm just making my head hurt."
