Moonlit Mischief

Saido watched as the rain pitter pattered down from the sides of the bridge under which he found himself. Since the day he'd ran from his parents, he'd gone wherever his paws would take him. So long as he had some form of shelter, he'd be fine! The Nickit forced a smile, even as he felt the emptiness in his stomach, and the growling that accompanied it. He'd be fine! He forced a laugh, even as the hunger pangs intensified in the pit of his stomach. The laughter turned into a whine, upon which he turned his head, first in one direction, then the opposite. No one heard him, right? He shouldn't whine about something like being hungry. What kind of Police-mon did that?

"C'mon, you're better than that," He growled to himself, once he was satisfied that no one was present. The Nickit rose to his feet, tail sweeping at the ground underneath him. Whining wouldn't solve his hunger issue, but neither would doing nothing. He'd tried the previous night, but sleeping hunger off wasn't something that really worked for him... Sure, it was late, but there were nocturnal pokemon, right?  And that meant food, even late at night!

...Assuming he had Poke. Maybe he could work out a deal with someone, if he didn't? The Nickit poked into his bag, hoping to see at least a few of the coins he so desperately needed, but there didn't seem to be any.

"Oh," He said under his breath, acutely aware of the sinking feeling in his heart. "Well, that's alright." He had no clue what he was going to do, but he'd think of something! He had to! And if worst came to worst, he simply wouldn't eat that night! That wasn't too bad... It could be worse...

The nickit lifted a hesitant paw, as his head turned to inspect his side, almost out of habit. Just as soon as he realized what he was doing, he snapped his head back to attention, rapt with attention at the process of securing the strap of his bag to his neck.

"Alright, here goes nothing, then!" He cried out, far too cheery for how late in the day it was, and what the circumstances surrounding him were. The Nickit stepped out from under the bridge and into the softly drizzling rain. It was pleasant, honestly! The dark type quite enjoyed the sensation of rain running through and down his fur. His ears twitched with pleasure, as he stuck out his tongue, trying to catch a few raindrops. He stood there for a bit too long, trying to make the most out of the rain, before he resolved to continue his journey.

The Nickit stepped out onto the bridge, letting the sight of the large moon in the sky fill his eyes. It was like a saucer! A giant saucer in the sky... He tilted his head, standing in the road, unaware of any passers-by that might think his actions strange. The nickit didn't much mind. The moon was pretty, and it did a lot to distract him of his current situation. He hummed to himself, standing in the road, alone. Or at least he thought he was alone. Who else would be up so late at night?
