| Subject: Sekita the Melanistic Eevee Wed Nov 13, 2019 12:47 am | |
| » Name: Sekita » Sex: Female » Species: #133 Eevee, Evolution Pokémon » Affiliation: Wandering Trader
» Level: 5 » Energy: 19 » Ability: Anticipation » Moves: - Covet (Level --) - Tackle (Level --) - Detect (Egg Move) - Helping Hand (Level --)
» Natural Feats: Anticipation - Whenever she’s in immediate danger, she can feel a shiver. Unstable DNA - An eevee’s DNA is naturally unstable. This doesn’t do much for her other than explain why eevee can evolve into a ton of things.
» Relatives: Ai the Absol (Mother - Deceased) Nieve the Glaceon (Father) Shikaru the Lycanroc-Day (Step-Mother) Roku the Rockruff (Kid Half-Brother)
» Personality: Sekita can easily be described as a free spirit. She doesn’t take issue in speaking her mind and finds it easy to butt into conversations with complete strangers. She does what she wants when she wants, laws are more of a suggestion to her. She loves going out and conversing with others, socializing, and generally making as many friends and connections as possible. She’s friendly, kind, and generally puts others before her. She can easily get a little over-excited and loves to get involved in just about anything and everything.
She’s a little on the nosey side, which can come off as annoying-especially since she has a knack for locking onto Introverts. She loves to entertain conversations for as long as possible and is usually the one to look for things to do with her friends. Despite her extraversion, she has a habit of keeping them at arm’s length. She doesn’t delve too much into herself and prefers to focus on either the other or some other topic of conversation.
Friendships with her tend to be rather shallow and fair-weathered in nature, seeing as she doesn’t exactly let anyone too close to her. As much as she would love a friend to be close with, she knows better. She’ll provide all the support she can for others, but when it comes to personal problems she’d sooner turn to family.
» Likes: Music - Whether it’s a classical tune or something a bit more modern and experimental, she’s always open to lend an ear to the aspiring musician. While she doesn’t quite know how to play any instruments herself, she’s eager to babble on about it for as long as possible. She often hums to herself or even recites lyrics whenever she thinks she’s alone.
Enclosed Spaces - If it fits she sits. Being in small spaces allows her to feel a lot safer seeing as there’s fewer ways for something to sneak up on her. If she ever willingly sleeps, she often squeezes herself into the smallest place she can find.
Eavesdropping/Drama - As much as she probably won’t admit it, she loves to hear about all the rumors and stories that go on in people’s lives. It’s not that she’s going to spread it, but she’s just interested to hear what’s going on with other people...since her life tends to be more on the dull side these days and she doesn’t exactly want to go looking for trouble.
» Dislikes: Sleep - Her sleep is often plagued with nightmares to a concerning degree. She goes out of her way to avoid sleep as long as possible. This usually involves in her either passing out at random points or suffering consequences of sleep deprivation.
Loud deep sounds - Thunder is usually the most common culprit, but even someone’s voice can incite a deep feeling of fear within her. Storms encourage her to find the smallest space she can find and crawl into it with the hopes that it’ll end soon, while she’ll usually try to disengage from a conversation with anyone with such a voice.
Falling/Climbing - It’s more of the falling part that gets her. Even though she can’t see how high up she is, she typically enjoys having her feet firmly planted on the ground so she just doesn’t have to worry about it period. The idea of going splat on the ground is enough to paralyze her if she were to say, somehow get into a tree. She’d rather go low than go high.
» History: Having a dad involved in some pretty serious criminal circles had its up sides, but for the most part it was down. Lots and lots of downs. She wasn’t really meant to be born, but her parents accepted her into their lives anyways. It became apparent to the couple that even with their combined abilities, Grima was no place to raise a child-especially one with failing eyesight.
Both her mother and her father had connections, both positive and negative. Their roots ran deep within Grima. So, when they had a child, that child became a target to get to the two. She was kept at home and away from the outside world. They hid her from the public the best they could, even going so far as to make the basement her room. They loved their child and made certain to always have someone they trusted home with her when they needed to go out.
They knew that they couldn’t stay in Grima forever. They couldn’t just keep her locked away, it was neither healthy nor a way to live. They plotted their escape from Grima, as their connections made it difficult for them to simply pick up and leave without consequence. Unfortunately, karma for their misdeeds decided to catch up to them in the form of a break in. Malicious pokemon in search of a perceived debt raided their house and discovered the little eevee. Ai managed to drive them off, but the news spread. There was a weak little child in town, ready for the taking.
This was made worse with Sekita’s growing curiosity of the outside world. Like the foolish little child she was, she managed to sneak out while Ai and Nieve were asleep. She came to regret her decision as she became lost within Grima, the foreign territory combined with her bad sight made it difficult for her to understand what went on around her. By dawn, she was snatched by malicious pokemon.
She was terrified, to say the least. She couldn’t fight back and didn’t understand her surroundings. She was silenced whenever she spoke and punished whenever she cried. She couldn’t find a way to escape, as everything seemed to just be shapes and colors to her. She spent a week being moved around for Arceus knows what reason, before they showed up. Ai and Nieve tracked both her and the bandits that nabbed her down to give them their comeuppance. It wasn’t easy.
Nieve and Sekita were the only ones to walk away. Sekita shook like a leaf as Nieve struggled back home to friendlier territory. Nieve’s friends helped him recover, but he was left with a permanent reminder of the night. Her father was crippled. He was too weak to withstand weight on his back and too much exercise caused pain. The few close friends Nieve had decided for the glaceon that it was time for him and his daughter to go-ready or not.
Accompanied by some of those friends, a caravan of sorts was formed. It was concluded that it was unsafe for them all to remain in one place, so they took to a more nomadic lifestyle. As the years passed, the caravan took in new members and allowed others to leave without conflict. Very few of the original founders of the caravan remained and the shady identity of the collection faded into the background. Being a troupe of performers and shopkeeps eventually went from fiction to fact. She enjoyed her time travelling and meeting others, though her eyesight only became worse and worse until she could see no more. She became completely blind.
Eventually, her father met and fell in love with a lycanroc. The two advanced a little too quickly for Sekita’s comfort and in no time she ended up with a significantly younger brother. She was bitter and hateful at first, mad that her father just moved on from Ai and jealous of the time she now had to share with the two new additions to the family. In time, however, she warmed up to the two of them...after a few choice words from her father.
She became fairly close to her little brother. As dimwitted as he was, he practically tripped over himself just to cater to her. He was just as hungry for adventure as she was and the two would sneak away to experience the world around them whenever the caravan set up shop in a town. He would be her eyes and she would be...his brain. It was around this time that she started to experience...vision again. It wasn’t what she saw around her, but instead she witnessed things that weren’t exactly happening right then and there.
Roku was concerned, but also intrigued. It took a few weeks of research and experimentation, until they reached a conclusion...Sekita was psychic. The two chatted excitedly about it and approached the caravan about it. Of course, they thought the two were merely playing pretend. They decided to humor the eevee and allowed her to open up a stand at the caravan’s festival where she would do psychic readings under the mentorship of a medicham.
She wasn’t actually psychic of course, the visions were the phenomenon known as the Dimensional Scream. She would eventually come to learn this as she grew up. Still, the medicham taught her an important skill that she uses for her “readings” to this day: lying and trickery. If she kept things vague, she can backtrack when she’s wrong. If she made general statements, she was less likely to be wrong. She kept her attention on tone of voice and even did her research on scheduled clients ahead of time in order to upkeep this ruse. Occasionally the ability would trigger whenever she had her brother around, so she had the added bonus of credibility to her words that was proven to be true.
It was a scam, yes, but only four-fifths of the time. She became quite good at it, to the point where she took the medicham’s place when the mentor decided it was their time to leave. She didn’t exactly feel wrong about it, seeing as the pokemon that requested her “services” often came for fun rather than anything serious. Besides, they usually left feeling pretty good about themselves, so what’s the harm in it?
She lives with the small community within the travelling caravan now, but she’s become old enough that she can walk without an escort-much to her father’s disapproval. It’s a simple life with questionable practices for earning a living, but still, it’s a life she’s comfortable with.
» Other: - Melanism.
- Has the Dimensional Scream
- Blind, has heightened other senses to compensate for that
- The caravan is going to become an IO once she’s developed to the point where she’s ready to lead it. Otherwise, in RP, it’s just an excuse for her to get around to different places and dungeons without pulling my hair out as to why a blind eevee would be anywhere near any dungeon whatsoever.
