» Why do you want to adopt them?:

My Sister's Character: Rosemary was created by my sister, who attempted to rejoin the site a while back after graduating school. However, she was unable to keep up with activity due to applying to and attending college. As the person who was directly involved in assisting my sister in creating Rosemary, I feel I am very capable of taking over for her. I would like to keep the character active and updated for her should she ever decide to come back.

Directly involved with Telma: Rosemary is directly involved with Telma Monteiro, a character I have recently submitted for approval (she is the character that crippled Telma's younger brother.) Given this and the sensitive nature of the plotline that involves her, I would prefer that myself or somebody I trust be placed in charge of her character developement.

Joining a Rescue Team: My sister's intention was for Rosemary to join a rescue team, and I currently have plans to have Astir (another character I have previously adopted) to join the Aileron Guild. However, Astir is currently in a strange place for me to negotiate roleplay wise, and I struggle to do solo threads with him. My intention is to have Astir and Rosemary join a guild team together (Kat has agreed to allow them both into Team Roark for the time being) in hopes that roleplaying Rosemary alongside Astir will allow me to roleplay Astir with more of a sense of direction. Essentially, Rosemary will be Astir's brain cells during the remainder of his amnesia arc. I hope that this will be beneficial to myself and my sister, and puts her in a position to do what she wishes with the character should she desire to return.

While her conversation with them had been pleasent, she did not receive the training experience she had been looking for. She had been informed by them, however, about the nearby Grassveil Town and the dojo it held. Reflecting on her experience, she heads to the town, first passing by the Shadowhue Forest where she meets a heaping dose of deja vu.]

Oh, oh. The nerves were coming back. They had been still while she had been conversing with the handsome snivy and the kind dratini, but without them present Mary's thoughts had begun to sink back into her earlier misgivings about her purpose... and the awful accident that had crippled one of the only friends she had to her name anymore. If Rui was even her friend; if she even deserved to have any anymore. Oh, god, she couldn't bare to think about it. She couldn't bare to have her thoughts stuck in this hellscape anymore. She couldn't even go home, or what she had called home, to relax.

She found herself wishing dearly that she had gone with them. She was hopeless. It seemed like every time she met a nice boy, they ended up reminding her of Rui - and of being with him. She had liked the attention they gave her. If she had just thought to ask them to take her town, rather than going off to find it herself... she could have enjoyed that feeling at least a little longer. Maybe they would have even allowed her to stay with them - maybe one of them, at least. Maybe she would have had some direction in this new life she was forging alone.

...Direction?

Wait. Was she going the right direction?

The buzz of Mary's inner dialogue faded to background noise as she quickly realized she had no idea if the had turned the right way. Hell- she needed to find a signpost!! She was on a road; there had to be one somewhere nearby, right?!?! She began running frantically in the direction she had been previously walking in mad pursuit of some direction. Relief washed over her when she finally happened upon one right near the mouth of what looked to be a very dark and intimidating forest. Interesting... Mary would have to remember this place. Perhaps this was more up to the speed of the training she had been after. In any case, she checked the faded signs to confirm her location.

"Oh, no... I turned the wrong way!!" she lamented to herself. "I got so distracted... augh, why am I always such a ditz!??" Mary crossed her scythes across her body and pouted for a moment, letting the embarrassment fester. She had to go all the way back, and then some. Her eyes drifted lazily while she had her fit, not really focusing on anything in particular...

...Except one very familiar-looking back. Blue, plain, and long... Yes it must be!!! It had to be him, right?! Osiris, the dratini from the woods!! She must have caught up to him, what good fortune!! She could ask him to take her with him after all!

"Osiris! Osiris!!!" Mary called, now running again in his direction. "Osiris, it's me!! Mary Jane - from the woods!! I'm so glad I caught up to you-"

The expression of confusion that the dratini met her with when he turned told Mary that she had made some kind of horrible mistake. It was... a different male dratini... she instantly felt a rush of chlorophyll assaulting her face as she died internally. It was a completely different - albeit still handsome - dratini and now she had made herself look like a total idiot in front of him.

"What are you talking about?" The other dratini's voice assaulted her ears and she flinched. "What's an- Osiris?"

"I- I..." Mary stammered, trying to keep her composure lest she embarrass herself further. "I'm sorry! I thought you were someone I knew!" she exclaimed. "My name is Rosemary, but uh- you can call me Mary Jane!!"

The orther Dratini stared at her for a moment. He started to lean in closer, and for a moment she felt her heart flutter - oh stop it!! She couldn't help it, though. His intense gaze was making her swoon a bit. "Are you danger?" he asked.

Rosemary's heart lept in her throat. "What?!!?" she exclaimed fearfully. That great ball of guilt rose back up in her chest. "No, I'm not dangerous!!! What would even give you that impression?!!" The words felt hollow in her mouth, because she knew better than that.

The Dratini grew equally as aggravated. "No! I didn't ask whatever that is, I asked if you are Danger!!! My arch nemesis!! I've been looking everywhere for him, it, but I haven't found it yet. I assumed I'd know it when I saw it..." he looked at her again, ".....and you don't look much like it. But I had to check."

Mary just stared now. This Dratini had completely lost her. He seemed lost... maybe a little dumb. Danger, the concept? Or was he looking for someone going by danger?? She didn't know, but in the next moment she knew she wasn't going to let this opportunity pass like she had the others. This was a great opportunity to get somebody to stick by her... and he seemed like he needed her, right?? It would be just like the good old days! Ish. Yes, this was what she was going to do.

"Um, I'm not sure what you're talking about... but no, I'm not. Danger. Or dangerous- to you, anyways!! Don't underestimate me because I'm small!" She proceeded to pose herself proudly and wink. "Let me prove it! Are you trying to get to town? I can take you there!"

"...What's a town?"

...

It was at this moment that Rosemary Janell realized she had her work cut out for her.
