Fallen Bear Copse.

Lalna was in awe at the forest around her--- She had just decided to walk to the Fallen Leaf Copse on a whim... But she had a map before she decided to travel, this time. She was slightly in shock at her surroundings--- and also at the fact that she didn't get lost again. She loosened the choke-hold her scarf had on her so that she can loosen it a bit, some of the berries stored inside falling back as she looks up at the orange trees surrounding her. All in all, she was feeling happy she came here-- It's incredibly beautiful, in her opinion. She let out a sigh as she thought back to her situation. She thought Ashen, that friendly Houndoom would be able to join the guild with her, but she left pretty quickly.. She lout out another absentminded sigh as she thought about how she would join the guild. She couldn't just join and form a solo team--- She's too weak for that, and she's not afraid to admit it-- But she doubts they even allow that.

She let out a small sigh, eating a small bit of some trail mix she bought while she was in Grassveil. It was a long walk, as the sun's descending in the sky. However, there's still plenty of time until sunset. She picked up a small, orange leaf, staring at it for a second before dropping it. There's plenty of time for reflection later! For now, it's time to explore these beautiful surroundings! She let out a small sound of glee, before starting to run into the woods--- not too fast, though. She still had to admire her surroundings.

A cream-colored vixen padded through the Fallen Leaf Copse, following a scent upon the air. Nine tails, each tipped in orange, trailed after the vixen. The Ninetales wore a deep blue band around one leg, and carried a bag around her front. Pinned to the bag was a winged badge, signifying her role as an Exploration Team member.

Lumina was in the forest on a mission. A pichu's brother had gone missing, and supposedly he was  within the copse somewhere. Lumina knew that with the sickness that had gone rampant lately, more and more pokemon were disappearing strangely. It was an unfortunate situation. She had to be prepared for the pichu's brother to attack her when she finally found him.

Lumina sighed. The darkness that lay over the land was a problem that lay heavy on the Ninetales' heart. So many pokemon were suffering, and for what? Because Giratina wanted to rule over all of pokemonkind? She shook her head furiously. Why couldn't he be happy with what he had? He was already king of the Distortion World; why did he need this world as well?

Lumina knew that ruminating over this would be no help to anyone, but she couldn't help but think on it. She hated how pokemon were suffering because of the darkness and the strange feral illness that overtook some pokemon. It was a strange illness, and one that Lumina was grateful, at least, that did not overtake her. She knew of a scyther it had taken over, and he had been a Guild Member! A fellow guild member was suffering, and there was nothing she could do to stop the darkness!

Lumina sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. She had gotten distracted from what her mission was. She had to stay in the here and now, if she was to help the pichu's brother. She wasn't sure whether it was a pichu or a pikachu she was even supposed to be finding! Lumina shook her head. She would find the pichu's brother; she had his scent from a scarf the pichu had given her.

The scent led her deeper into the forest. Lumina padded over fallen leaves, feeling the crunch as the leaves were crushed beneath her paw pads. She looked up as light streamed from between the trees. Huh. The sun seemed to have won the battle with the dark clouds in the sky.  Maybe they'd have a nice sunset for once. But, sunset was still a while off. There was still plenty of time for the dark clouds that covered the sky to cover the sun once more.

Lumina paused as a new scent made itself known to her. It smelled similar to the scent she was following, but a slight bit different. If she had to guess, she would guess it was of a similar pokemon species. Maybe a pichu, then, if she was following a pikachu. She scanned the forest ahead, her red eyes gleaming in the light of the sun streaming down from between the canopy of the forest around her.

She padded forward, keeping her wits about her. She wouldn't let anything sneak up on her!

Energy:

It was a pretty place, this Fallen Leaf Copse. That was what Clovis had been told, and lo and behold, it was true. From the moment he crossed the stepping stones into the forest, he was positively entranced by the constant, beautiful, and out of season autumn he had suddenly been placed into. Everywhere there was red, yellow, and brown, a soothing combination of colors- sure to become more soothing once the late afternoon's sun finally descended in the west. It was nice to think about the sun, now and then. With as long as the clouds had covered the sky, it was a little easy to forget that the sun even existed, at times. A walk through the woods would serve as a nice reminder of how enjoyable life could be, and as a chance to explore an unfamiliar area.

The piplup had came a long way from Grassveil, but despite the length of his trip, he showed very few signs of traveler's weariness. Around his neck area, there was a clean, pink joy ribbon, tied in the style of a string bow tie. On the rest of his body, there did not appear to be signs of dirt or anything like it. It was plain to see that he had traveled in relative comfort, having taken frequent stops to rest and eat along the way, befitting of someone whose motivation for travel was, essentially, tourism.

His path inwards had been fairly standard, rarely deviating from the path that appeared to be the most traveled by visitors. He wasn't really interested in wandering off through the thick of the woods just to be attacked by ferals without reason. A little excitement wasn't always a bad thing, of course, but getting lost all alone just wasn't something he was in the mood for.

At one particular moment, the sound of leaves crunching attracted Clovis' attention. Though visibility in the forest was limited, he still instinctively turned towards the source of the noise, and caught a brief glimpse of one pichu, jogging their way through the copse. And though he was not particularly desperate to meet an electric-type, there was still a bit of intriguing mystery as to the reason why this pokémon was so excited. He'd follow for a bit, if only to find out just what was worth the brisk pace. The piplup headed off in the same direction as the pichu, but without bothering to attempt to match their speed. He simply waddled his way, with his short piplup legs, in nothing even resembling a rush.

Lalna suddenly stopped, skidding some leaves up into the air around them and immediately flooping to the ground, having several leaves flutter down and land on her. She tugged the scarf around her head slightly tighter, staring at the slightly gloomy sky--- Before sighing lightly. She forgot about that... Oracle.. thing? With Giratina.. And Arceus and such?? She just felt confused at the whole deal, as she only heard about it in passing because some people in town were speaking about it..

She let out a sigh at that thought. She was looking forward to when this all blows over and the sky isn't so... dark looking. She ate a small bit more trail mix, staring up at the darkened sky past the leaves, shaking her head slightly. No more dissapointment-- Deal with it until the moment comes when you can do something. She got up, shaking the rest of the leaves off and taking a step forward--- Before tripping on a root, faceplanting in a small clearing with a surprised squeak as she attempted to grab the nearest thing to catch herself.

Lumina heard the crackle of leaves as someone apparently jumped into some leaves. She passed a few trees and saw a pichu rolling around on the ground in the leaves. She let out a snort of laughter. "Enjoying yourself?" She asked, padding closer to the pichu.

She wondered how carefree the pichu had to be to be playing in the leaves like a toddler. Then again, perhaps this was a young pichu -it was hard to tell age just from looking at a pokemon. She  was relieved that someone still found enough joy in their hearts to dance around like this, though.

It was hard in the guild life to remember to take time for yourself, she reflected. Most of the time she was so busy with guild duties, that taking time to just play around wasn't really her biggest priority. She knew that some guild members were just plain miserable with their lives -especially in times like these.

She wanted to growl, but stopped herself, lest she scare the pichu away. Giratina was the cause of all the misery in the world. Oh, if only she could get her paws on that maniac; she'd show him a thing or two about messing with the world for his own amusement! But that was a fever dream, she knew, for what one lone Ninetales could stand against a Legendary like Giratina? None, that was the answer.

She returned her attention to the pichu rolling around in the leaves. "Are you just passing through the Copse?" She asked politely. "You may want to watch out for a crazed pikachu. I'm tracking him, but he could be a danger to himself or others if someone finds him before I do." She said cautiously.

Clovis continued to head in the direction he had seen the pichu going in, still curious as to just what it was that they were in such a rush over. It could be that they were racing after something exciting! Or it could be that they were being chased by a dangerous and savage feral! Or it could be that they were young and liked to run just because of that. Meh.

Surprisingly enough, given the speed at which the pichu had been travelling, it didn't take very much time to close the gap at all- Clovis took his steps into the leafy area that the pichu had stopped in, and saw both the pichu, on the ground with the leaves, and a ninetales, with their many majestic tails, studying and speaking to the younger 'mon on the ground.

Truthfully, the lack of any particularly interesting result from this little trek was a little disappointing. The pichu was just enjoying themselves, about as much as could be expected in Fallen Leaf. The ninetales was probably in a similar position to him, just approaching this pichu out of curiosity.

What with being in the same clearing and all, Clovis would doubtlessly be noticed by one of the two other pokémon. He didn't mind chatting for a bit, but if he was to be noticed, he'd prefer if he could introduce himself on open terms, rather than just being spotted and beckoned over. Clovis approached the two pokémon, hearing the tail end of one statement as he approached. An interesting statement, at that.

"Crazed what, now?" Clovis exclaimed from behind the ninetales, as he walked up next to the two pokémon. It sounded as though there was a dangerous pikachu running about- troubling news for a water-type.

Said Pichu had actually fallen and faceplanted, kicking some leaves in the air and missing to grab onto anything to keep herself up and slightly bopping her nose against a pile of leaves that she had fallen into. Her ears twitch as someone approaches her---  Before jumping slightly, and immediately tripping over again by stepping on a leaf wrong. She barely heard what they said--- It was a ninetales, it seems--- Before they spoke again. Listening while on the ground, slightly dazed by her rapid falls, she hears what the ninetails is speaking about... A crazed pikachu!? She panicked slightly internally at this fact, but then stopped and shrugged on the ground. She had Thunder Rod, so she should be able to fare her own.. But if that Pikachu also had Thunder Rod, she'd be useless. She then gets up, rubbing her head slightly.. before hearing another Pokemon, again-- and remembering the Ninetales is there.

She let out a small squeak at that, pulling her hood-scarf tighter over her head and turning on the spot, jumping back a tiny bit. Thinking back on the information the Ninetales said, she decided to thank her... And then realizing that this person was a guild member. She gets excited momentarily, thinking about the adventures guild members go on, before she slaps her cheeks, turning to the other person. She glanced at them from the side of her vision, the pokemon being identified as a Piplup. She glanced back up at the guild member, before speaking quickly and somewhat silently.. "thank you for telling me that miss i was just planning on trying to train or something here for a day or two since people said it looked beautiful and i thought it was a good idea but i didn't know that i would run into anyone else let alone two other people and i'm also sorry for maybe interrupting you there since you're tracking that pikachu you said?anyways i'm sorry and it's nice to meet you miss," Slowly turning into a small rant that's basically unhearable, the ranting continuing-- at this point it may as well be mumbling, though.

Note: I'm okay with either of you two controlling what i roll the post after this, so long as it's a pokemon.

Lumina heard someone come up behind her, and turned to see a piplup. He was talking, asking about the crazed pikachu she had mentioned. "Yes. He may not be in his right mind," she explained. Then she returned her attention to the pichu from before, who had spoken up quietly.

"Hey, hey, it's fine," she replied to the seemingly frightened pichu. "No one will hurt you while I'm around," she said reassuringly. "And you didn't interrupt me or anything. It was my choice to approach you."

She wondered if the pichu was alright, with the way he was talking so low and looking away the way he was. He seemed frightened, or at the very least, very shy. Perhaps she was a bit too intimidating for her own good.

A rustle in the bushes had Lumina turning toward the sound, her hackles rising. Her ears flattened against her head as she waited for something to appear. A white form tumbled out of the bushes, squeaking when it saw the array of pokemon in front of it. It was a silcoon, and it immediately hardened its shell upon seeing the Ninetales and the other two pokemon.

Lumina huffed, relaxing. The small bug pokemon was no threat to them.

"Hmm." Clovis gave a simple utterance in response to the ninetales' affirmation. This was a legitimate thing to be concerned about, and judging by the way in which the pichu trailed off speaking and was subsequently comforted by the ninetales, the others were concerned as well.

Still, one rabid pikachu was nothing to panic over when other feral pokémon were commonplace in forests already. From what the ninetales had said about wanting to stop the pikachu from being a danger to himself, Clovis could only assume that what made this pikachu special was that he was a previously civilized pokémon turned crazy through some disorder. Or dark magic. One of the two. Either way, it was an unusual prospect- one that was probably worthy of a bit of attention. The ninetales sounded kind enough when she had spoke to the pichu, and her company was probably plenty tolerable to be around. Perhaps Clovis would ask her for a bit more information.

When a faint rustle sounded from some bushes, the ninetales turned towards the noise. Clovis neglected to turn himself, out of worry that he would appear too jumpy and noise-sensitive. If it was anything to worry about, the ninetales would tell him. Once her attention had returned from the bush, Clovis spoke up calmly and curiously, hungry for more information. "You wouldn't mind telling us a bit more about this crazed pikachu, would you, miss?" He hadn't yet heard her name, so "miss" would have to suffice until she gave a proper introduction.

Energy: 3 - 6 = 0

Letting out a small sigh of relief, she turned to the two pokemon she was nearby, tightening her scarf around her head a bit more. When the piplup spoke up about the crazed pikachu the ninetales was speaking about, She found herself agreeing with what he just said. "actually what they said would be a good idea for us so that we know what to avoid in the case of it being stronger then us or how we can help if it ends up being weaker which i doubt that part because i'm pretty weak to be honest even though i sorta wanna join a guild which i why i'm training and honestly i really wanna join the guild despite the fact that i'm fairly weak and it's always just appealed to me from what my parents said andi'm sorry for ranting it's a habit i'm sorry She whisper-ranted there, turning from a whisper to a barely intelligible mumble by the end.

Her ears proceeded to swivel, her turning on the spot--- looking into the forest and glancing around. "i just heard something walking from the forest and judging from the weight of the impact and the distance from which i heard it from it's likely to be something fairly big but i'm not exactly sure how big just wanted you two to be aware of that just incase." She finishes her sentence without descending into mumbling that time, looking in the direction that is behind her and away from the other two that are near her into the forest, ears twitching slightly and to attention.

Lumina hummed thoughtfully. "Well, the pikachu is the brother of my client, a pichu. He was last seen fleeing into Fallen Leaf Copse, in a crazed state. For some reason, even the brother couldn't get through to him. I suspect he's been taken over by the strange feral illness that has been going around. If we find him, we'll have to be careful as to how we approach him. He may be in great distress or in a crazed state." Lumina said carefully.

Her ears swiveled on her head as the footfalls of something rather large made itself known, only to be pointed out by the quiet pichu. "I heard it, too." Lumina said. "Based on the research I've done of this place, I'm guessing it may be a Ursaring. And based on the quickness of the footfalls, it will be emerging soon. Hopefully it's not in a rage... Stay behind me, just in case," she ordered the smaller pokemon.

"I can take on an Ursaring in a rage, but I'd rather not have to be worrying about smaller pokemon underfoot whilst I am fighting it." she said urgently.

Sweet Arceus, that pichu liked to talk quickly. And quietly. Seriously, how did she expect anyone to be able to understand her when she spoke in mumbles? Clovis could barely catch the words that she had said. She agreed with him about wanting to know more, and then mentioned a noise...? Ah, either way, the ninetales answered his inquiries. The pikachu was the brother of a client, so the ninetales was probably with the guild. Indeed, the pikachu was once a normal 'mon, with a family and everything, and had been driven to a savage state by a mysterious illness. And that was just a little bit sad to think about.

More pressingly, the ninetales had heard the same noise that the pichu had. Those two must have had some sensitive ears. The ninetales suspected that it had come from an ursaring. Certainly a large pokémon, if nothing else. She asked for Clovis and the pichu to get behind her in the event that it was hostile. The idea of facing off against an ursaring was a frightening one, for sure. But her demand that Clovis flee behind her, claim that she could handle an ursaring alone, and her referring to him as a small pokémon that she'd rather not worry about? That was something of an insult, it was! Such condescension could not be complied with.

The piplup narrowed his eyes, and took a step off to the side. Maybe the ninetales would deal swiftly with the ursaring, and that would be fine. But if something was coming, then by Arceus, he would not be swept aside. In a show of passive-aggressiveness, he let out a single statement towards the ever-so protective ninetales. "That's an interesting perspective."

Lalna understood what the ninetales was getting at--- If she just stood around, then it's likely she would be an easy target for an ursaring, despite her speed. She nods in understanding by what the ninetales said. "i understand that it's likely we will get in the way if we stay here in the middle of an area with a ursaring and i get where you're coming from and i do get that but if things start going wrong during your fight i'm atleast going to try to help you because i can't just not do anything when someone needs help sorry" She manages to finish without ranting this time, but she does get fairly quiet at the end there. She slanted her ears as she heard it continue to approach, lightly jumping into a nearby bush, preparing herself to sneak-attack just incase things start going downhill.

While waiting in said bush for the ursaring to show itself, a million different scenarios were running through her head. "What are the ninetales moves? What's the ninetales focus in combat? Speed? Strength? Defense? What moves are the ursaring going to have? What if it's actually speedy, instead of being a heavy hitter like expected from most ursaring? Can the ninetales really take it out alone? What would be the best way to sneak attack an ursaring? Going for the head is a viable option most likely, but it could also have that defended. It would probably be best to go for the head, but if it's unlikely that my sneak attack will work I could go for the legs and trip them up, then try to take it out, but then if that doesn't work I'm vulnerable to any moves that the ursaring has that can attack me from below them, or if the ursaring falls backwards and I don't get out of the way in time I could get smushed.." She's muttering her thoughts without realizing it at this point---  And fairly loud compared to how she normally speaks. She's currently slightly rubbing her head between her two ears through the scarf absentmindedly, her mind running through all the scenarios that could happen from the fight while she waits.

Lumina's ears twitched as the piplup spoke up passive-aggressively. She turned her head and narrowed her eyes at the piplup. The little pokemon really believed he'd be able to take on a ursaring? This was the kind of stupid that Lumina couldn't stand. She had utter confidence in herself, but little confidence in other pokemon, especially small pokemon like the pichu and piplup. She had seen plenty of pokemon cut down by over-confidence, and she would hate for the piplup to be underfoot while she was taking on the ursaring. She'd have to be thinking for three pokemon then, trying to save him from himself.

"I don't mean to be rude, but what is your combat experience?" she asked flatly. "Because unless you have some hidden ability that allows you to down a pokemon ten times your size, I ask what makes you think you can take on a Ursaring? I have the size advantage, and my fire will burn it. I'd rather not have to worry about saving you from your own ego when you think you can take on a bear ten times your size," she said cuttingly.

It was then that the pichu started mumbling something, and Lumina's attention turned to the electric type. It seemed that she was talking to herself, if the stream of consciousness were any indication. "I'd rather you not put yourself in danger," she said to both the pokemon. "I am confident in my ability to take on the ursaring, but it would be complicated if I had to be watching out for you two as well." she tried explaining.

The ninetales really was serious about this, wasn't she? She'd asked some awfully rude questions, doubting Clovis' abilities and experience. She'd bragged on about how she would use her size and her flames to defeat the apparently incoming ursaring singlehandedly. Worst of all, she'd decided to outright accuse his supposed ego of getting in the way. It was outrageous, it was! Without a doubt, the ninetales was merely projecting her own ego issues onto him, so that she would have something to feel good about- someone to look down upon. It most certainly would not be him! We'll take that big ursaring down, we will. Maybe that'll get her off of my case.

For all that the ninetales liked to rant, Clovis needed only produce a simple, confident retort of his own to be satisfied. "You've little need to watch for anything but the bear, if you intend to burn it." Regardless of how much the big fox pokémon tried to keep this fight to herself, so long as it was equally as much business of Clovis, he would make his own decision as to whether to be involved.

Clovis positioned himself behind, but slightly beside of the ninetales. That way, he could flee behind the larger 'mon if need be, but would still have a clear shot at whatever could possibly come into the clearing. He dug his feet into the soil, and steadied himself. Regardless of whatever verbal abuses that could be thrown at him, he intended to loose a ranged attack of his own. Though perhaps not a Hydro Pump, if it would conflict with whatever flames the ninetales would be spewing. Loud stomps could be heard from the approaching feral, and the piplup's legs shook just a little bit in fear... But no amount of fear would convince him to allow the ninetales free reign to take a domineering role over him, no amount that could be imagined.
