Crime and Punishment [Closed] Empty
PostSubject: Crime and Punishment [Closed]   Crime and Punishment [Closed] EmptyTue Jul 11, 2017 4:53 am

It was a quiet day in the dreary light of town. He was not at all sure on what he was going to do as a plan was not always in his book, but he was definitely going to try something. It had only been a day or so ago when he had heard of this batch of outlaws, but he had been digging about ever since. His sneaky little ears had even picked out the voice of the leader of this little batch! He smirked as he walked along the empty and thin streets. The grin stretched from ear to ear with mischevious intent. The little Zorua was on a mission, a mission to join this black-quill or whatever's gang!

He wanted to be an outlaw when he grew up, a special kind of outlaw. However, his mother refused to teach him of her ways. Whatever special skill she had to make her special and known in the outlaw world, she would not tell him. Whenever he expressed his interest she would always tell him "No", "That's not right", or even just sigh heavily. Well, today was the day that he would put his paw down! He was going to become an outlaw, a well-known one at that! He would be feared by all, just like how everyone feared his mother and father! His sister could go off and be some saint or whatever, but him? He would shine in his own way!

He walked the streets with purpose as he searched the streets for the little vulpine creature that had caught his attention. He could barely contain his own giggling as excitement caused him to bounce a little, eager to begin his new future as an outlaw! There was no way they'd turn him down, right? He couldn't wait to begin!

His pace picked up as his search became more desperate within the streets. Eventually, he had grown frustrated with the lack of results. So, he decided to do something a bit unruly. He stepped into an alleyway and hopped on top of the wooden boards of the shop fronts. He scanned the alleyways below, finding it much easier to look around with the height advantage. He scanned the area once more before he spotted her.

The several scarlet tails with the tell-tale feathers on the specific ear. It was the leader!

"Hey!" he called out from his position, though it could have easily been to just about anybody let alone the fact that he was not quite close enough to warrant a response. He did not know her name in specific, just her appearance. He had simply assumed that she would automatically know he had called out to her despite the distance and grew frantic when it seemed as if she had not noticed him at all. He looked down for a faster way down before he spotted a piece of fabric that was placed over a kiosk for a shopkeep. Two sticks held the fabric up and made the cover look nice and soft to land on.

Fueled by his imagination, he jumped down onto it with the idea that he'd bounce off quietly and stealthily, just like some great thief! To his disappointment, the bamboo that held the fabric up snapped as soon as his weight was fully supported by the cloth. The top of the kiosk came crashing down onto the stand, which was luckily empty save for the produce beneath it and entrapped him in the folds of the cloth. He struggled against it as he began to panic, more so about losing the vulpix he had spotted than the actual destruction he had caused.

When he had resurfaced from the prison of blue fabric, his appearance was different towards any in that laid eyes upon him. He had activated his illusion ability in order to disguise himself. He tore a hole through the fabric with his jaws as he finally managed to pull himself out, however, now he had been covered in the juices of various berries and vegetation. He had completely disregarded the destruction around him, even the Watmel berry that was stuck atop his head, as he desperately took off in the direction of the fire type.

He could hear the vague angered cries of the shopkeep in the distance, but he had quickly lost them as they were forced to remain near their shop else risk further damages. His paws moved as quickly as they could as he took a moment or two to track down the vulpix. He didn't care how he had looked at that moment, all that mattered was finding the vulpix again! At long last, he had spotted her once more.

"Hey! You! Vulpix! I need to talk to you-please, please!"
he spoke as he suddenly approached the fire type. He had rushed ahead of her in order to cut her off of whatever path she had been on her way towards. However, it was not a zorua that she would have seen before her. Chance had taken quite a liking to disguising himself as a particular someone else over time, as instead, he appeared to be nearly exactly like his father, Sova the Glaceon, a rather well-known explorer of the Grassveil Guild. However, he failed to act anything like the part he had shown himself as...

Crime and Punishment [Closed] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Crime and Punishment [Closed]   Crime and Punishment [Closed] EmptyTue Jul 11, 2017 8:18 pm

After her rather productive excursion to Grassveil Town the day previous, Synd'r wandered down the streets of the town once again, this time purely to explore and enjoy what Grassveil had to offer. She hadn't lived in the area for long, and had steered mostly clear of it whilst she was wandering so there was a lot that she had yet to see and familiarise herself with. That said, she was already making a beeline to the marketplace she had been in yesterday.

Synd'r wouldn't be the type to say she had a sweet tooth, but the pancakes she had tried yesterday had been exquisite to say the least. Maybe it was because she never really had food like very often that whilst she was living with the Black Quill thieves... or on the road for that matter. Perhaps it was just tastier because she had watched it being freshly made in front of her? Who knows. But it was good, and she quite fancied another one.

Re-finding the little stall didn't take too long as she just needed to follow the distinct scent of the pancakes being cooked. With an almost excited smile on her face, she waited in line for the current customer to finish ordering. When said customer finally wandered away, a crepe smothered with chocolate sauce in their grasp, the stall-keeper turned to Synd'r.
"Ah it's you again," the Braixen smiled. She had helped the Vulpix decide which sauce to try on her pancake the day previous, and was happy to see that she had perhaps picked up a new regular customer, "Would you like the same as yesterday?"

"Yes please," Synd'r nodded and watched intently as the shopkeeper made the pancake before her eyes, slathering it in just the right amount of strawberry condiments. As it was being cooked, the shopkeeper made small talk with Synd'r, complementing the four feathers she wore behind her ear and wondering if it would be a good look for herself.

Synd'r's ear twitched at the mention of the feathers. She still wasn't quite used to the brush of the fourth one's barbs on her ears, but she didn't mind it so much considering what it represented. The fourth one, the only red feather behind her ear, represented her place as a member of the Phantom Thieves now after all.

Soon enough, Synd'r's pancake was finished and handed over to the Vulpix on a small paper tray. Synd'r handed over her payment for the snack and bid the stall-keeper a good day, promising that she'd be back soon. Honestly, she quite liked this little stall, perhaps she should recommend adding a little seating next to it so that she could stay and eat whilst she chatted. Making acquaintances in town would be very useful for getting information after all.

After enjoying her pancake and throwing away the paper tray, Synd'r continued her exploration of the town. She had reached an area where the streets were busy and loud, voices everywhere talking about their day and the local gossip. She heard someone calling out, but thought nothing of it and continued on her way, although she was distracted shortly after bu some sort of commotion. Investigating it further seemed that it was only someone causing trouble and she moved on.

A short moment later however, she blinked as a Glaceon approached her, saying something about needing to talk to... her? She assumed they meant her anyways, as a quick glance around suggested that there weren't any other Vulpix in the nearby vicinity.

Unfortunately... or luckily depending on how you viewed it, Synd'r had never met the explorer Sova the Glaceon, having only begun living near Grassveil Town a short while ago. However, the Vulpix took note of the Glaceon's odd appearance, as it was distinctly different to any Glaceon she had ever heard of or seen before.

"Can I help you?" she asked, tilting her head to the side in curiosity. She genuinely had no idea why this pokemon wished to speak with her.

Chance was thrilled as the vulpix had given no sort of negative reaction towards being stopped suddenly. Excitement caused him to hop in the spot once more as he lowered himself to rest on his front paws, though his hind was still in the air as his tail wagged back and forth akin to a more canine pokemon.

"Hey! Yeah, you can help me! I-" he stopped suddenly as his expression suddenly changed. The realization that this was not something to be spoken of publically had just struck him. He hopped back onto his paws to a full stand as he looked around hesitantly.

"Not here- Somewhere private- Yes, secret placeee~" he suddenly spoke as his own excitement had caused him to speak far too fast for his mouth to really keep up with. He was going to do it! He was actually going to do it!

He looked about quickly before he spotted a nearby alleyway. He pointed to it before he looked back the vulpix with an excited smile, "How about over there? Can we go over there? I need to ask you something, please! Please?" he asked with large round eyes.

Synd'r blinked as the excited Glaceon seemed to halt mid sentence. One second they sounded as if they were going to tell her what was going on and the next they were asking to meet in a secret place. It was all very... odd.

She parted her jaws to speak up, not willing to entertain some youngster's games when she could be heading elsewhere. The Glaceon certainly looked older than they behaved, but looks weren't everything she supposed. Before she could get a word out though, the Glaceon pointed to a nearby alleyway, requesting that they talk over there. Seeing as it wasn't far, the Vulpix shrugged.

"Uh... Sure. I guess?" She replied. Synd'r felt rather out of her depth at that particular moment. She was the type to keep to herself, and so people coming up to her in the street was in itself weird. But paired with the demeanor and appearance of this individual, it was much more peculiar than she could ever have imagined.

Despite this, Synd'r was definitely the curious type, and it was that curiosity that lead to her wondering just what the strange individual wanted that they were so excited about. Cautiously, she moved towards the alleyway, keeping her ears pricked and senses alert for anything sinister about the entire encounter.

Yes, yes, yes! The vulpix agreed! This was going to be great! He could see it now, Kibakoru of the wicked Phantom Thieves. Pokemon would quiver at the very name, he just knew it! The 'glaceon' tried to keep his posture calm as the two headed towards the alleyway, but it was difficult to contain the excitement. Once they were safely in the alleyway where they would surely not be heard by another soul...he began to fanboy.

"You're the leader of the Phantom Thieves right?" he spoke, though he would not give the vulpix an opportunity to answer, "I've heard so much about your club! It's sooo cool, you steal stuff and you get away with it so often! I'm Cha-I mean, Kibakoru! My name's Kibakoru!" Whoops, he had almost given his real name. He needed to keep that identity a secret if he was going to be an expert and feared fiend! Nobody would have been scared by the name "Chance" anyways...

"I like to think I'm pretty skilled at the whole stealing gig," he began to brag, "I've stolen a badge from an explorer team once! I-uh, sold it on the black market." He had given the badge back. "Annnd I just wanted to know if I could-uh join forces with your club and be a part of it?" he smiled hopefully. He had picked his words quickly and made an attempt to be careful with them. He should have at least been given a gold star for effort, but his fluency and attitude were off to much for this to be considered an acceptable act.

"Huh, huh?" he hurried for an answer as he sat his hind down finally before he lifted his forelegs up so that he was in a more proper "sitting" position-though it looked more like a dog begging for a treat...
