The quest for items! (Me and Mada)

It was early morning in the forests, large trees boasting leaves of magnificent colors ruled this area. The sights was full of golden, reds, and browns at the never ending fall season, sunlight struggled to peeked out of the gloomy clouds that dominated the recent world. Then the thick tree tops stopped that little light in it's tracks, leaving the forest floor a dark, shadowed cover. Some pokemon could be seen in the high branches, tucked into the tree's trunk as the sleep through the dark morning, other awake and prowling through the shadows of the trees. This was the perfect time for any explorers of the forests to start their searches, when most pokemon are asleep and the one's who aren't are alone.

This is why a duo of quadruped pokemon where slowly making their way through the colorful forest floor, eyes searching the surrounding area carefully for different reasons. The vixen, a party planner and well know noblewomen, searching the forest for rare ingredients to aid in not just her job, but to help her friend create medicine. She had the eye for quality and knew well what she needed, but the Lady is happy to take anything of use for trade or selling. The Lynx, her recently hired bodyguard and a Mercenary from a hidden organization, was keeping high alert for any threats to his client. Though he looked visibly at more ease than his client, he was ready for battle at the drop of a hat, a small smirk playing on his face.

"I wonder how fast the search will be this time," The vixen muttered, "I surely hope it doesn't take a day to find anything useful, but my luck has never been particularly good." She sighed softly. Zydius took his gaze off the trees to glance at her, "Now now, what's with that attitude? Being all negative isn't going to make finding this any easier y'know? Chin up and look forward to exploring a new area, Beautiful."

The fox sighed, but smiled at the shorter pokemon anyways, "I suppose your right Mr. Alexander." He snorted and looked away, "I know I'm right, gorgeous."

Now the Lady shook her head, before reaching in her bag and pulling out two Oran berries. "Here, it was quite the walk to get here. We need the extra boost." The lynx thanked her with a nod and ate the offered oran berry. The fox quickly, but also gracefully, ate her own.

Alki was bouncing through the forest, happy. Finally alone! I even got an apple earlier! And I didn’t drop it… She thought happily. I'm calm and the forest iss quiet and peaceful and I'm alone! She sung a soft, but upbeat song to herself, but soon enough, her voice got too tired and she had to take a break. She slowed her bounces, and then begun to walk, slowly, through the forest. She felt kind of tired… but she was too in awe of the forest to pay it much mind. It’s so beautiful, and it’s not like I’m in any rush… She marveled at the bright, vibrant colors of the forest, continuing to walk. As she was looking up at the leaves, she wasn’t looking in front of her, nor did she hear a voice talking. So she ran right into the source, and fell down, surprised.


“S-Sorry…” She mumbled, recovering from her shock after realizing the fact that she was no longer alone. She got up, and instead of looking at who she bumped into, she looked up again at the trees. Nothing like that in the town, nor was there anything like that at my home. She was glad she’d come here… “It’s really p-pretty, don’t you think?” She said, more to herself, and then turned to face who she’d bumped into. “Whatcha doing?” She asked, she’d learned it was better to limit herself to only a few words per sentence. Any more and she’d mess it up and look stupid. “Um… Sorry I bumped into you, ma’am...” She said realizing she should probably apologize. She looked at the Vulpix. She had a curious necklace on, and she was a rather grand sight to see... Six tails! “Y-You’re really pretty...” She mumbled, her face turning a bright red. Oh no… she wasn’t supposed to say that! The Vulpix looked kind of familiar, had she seen her before? That just makes things worse… She began to panic, fidgeting in place, bouncing even, wanting to get out of there, but something kept her in place. Maybe embarrassment or maybe even fear, or maybe I'm just so surprised that there are six tails! She thought, managing to not run away. Even despite her verbal slip up, Alki continued to stare at her tails, fascinated. “S-Sorry… that was a dumb thing to say.” She said, finally, managing to rip her gaze away from the tails and instead to the Vulpix’s face. “W-What’s your name?”

Zydius’s eyes snapped over to the split path connected to theirs, large ears catching the signs leaves rustling lightly. So lightly that he hardly noticed it, which either means a good stealthy pokemon was here or a really light one. His question was answered when he saw a round pink pokemon bouncing towards them, eyes locked to the trees in a unaware gaze. He watched the Igglybuff bounce closer, raising a non-existent eyebrow. About this time the vixen finally turned to look at what her guard was watching, just in time for the impossibly light pokemon to bump into her side.

Both pokemon looked down at the fairy type as she stood back up, slight bemused by her behavior. The Vulpix cocked her head to the side, a small smile on her face, ”Yes, It certainly is isn’t it?” She shifted her weight to her back legs and lifted her previously bowed head to a better position. The movement caused her necklace to shift, along with her lovely tails waving lazily in synchronization.

The vixen let out a small laugh when the balloon like pokemon became mesmerized by her tails, Oh if she think that's amazing, she should see a Ninetail like my mother. ”Do not fret, My Love. It’s a honest mistake that needs little apology.” She said in reply to her earlier apology.

Behind her, Zydius snorted, sliding up from behind Jasper to gaze down on her with his species signature stare, a smirk on his furry face. ”Aww,” He started slowly, his deep voice smooth. ”She get’s call pretty and you have nothing to say to little old me?” he rested one of his paws on his chest and looked away with a mock hurt expression, ”That hurts, That hurts a lot.” He glanced back at her with eerie yellow eyes, the smirk stretching ever so slightly.

”Don’t worry darling, you shouldn't be afraid to say believe is true.” The Noblewomen gave the Igglybuff a warming gaze, opposite to her bodyguards intense stare. Zydius huffed, turning his head towards her,”Now Beautiful, It’s not a matter a beliefs, it’s simply a fact that you are gorgeous.” He said in his usual manner, though he meant what he said completely. Jasper took his compliment easily, unfazed by her guard’s tone.

”You may call me Lady Jasper, and this is my Bodyguard, Mr. Alexander. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” The Lady followed her introduction with a well practiced and fluid bow. Placing one paw on her chest and kneeling her head briefly. Zydius hummed and did the same, though his bow was just a nod of his head. ”Call me Zydius, Sugar. I’m not fond of formalities.”

Jasper looked at the fairy type curiously, ”Now who might you be? It’s common courtesy to state your name before asking for another’s.”

The other Pokemon was expressing how hurt he was that Alki hadn't complimented him. Oh no, I knew I messed up... She turned to him and hastily complimented him as well. "Y-You look very nice as well! Uh... h-handsome. Um." She shuffled her feet, kicking away at a small splotch of mud, away from the two pokemon. Now her foot was dirty, she'd have to clean it later, but she didn't mind. Her parents hadn't liked her getting dirty, and now she could be dirty all she wanted. What's wrong with a tiny bit of mud? She looked up and saw his smirk. Oh. He was being sarcastic... Her face burnt a bright red. That was a dumb thing to say...

She shifted uncomfortably. The trees made her feel nice, at least, but she wasn't exactly a very sophisticated Pokemon like these two. She jumped when she realized what they were doing. They're bowing! I should bow too... She did exactly that, perhaps a bit too suddenly. Alki found herself staring at the floor, trying to be like the other two, but she was nowhere near as smooth... she lost balance and fell forward onto her face. She quickly bounced back up and looked at the other two, blushing.

"U-Uh... M-My name is... s-sorry I didn't say it first, I-I didn't mean to be rude... Er. That's not my name. No. Sorry. M-My name is A-Alki. T-That's my name..." She bumbled, eyes downcast, embarrassed twice now. At least the Vulpix is nice. "I-It's a p-pleasure too..." What was she supposed to say? After she said that, it was silent again. Alki tried to fill it up with a bit of humming, music made her feel nice, almost always, and today was no exception. She smiled softly, and turned to look at the two. Jasper's nice... "What are you two doing here?" She asked, her voice quiet, but without stutters this time. Huh. That's unusual. "Jasper and Zydius. Err. Lady. L-Lady Jasper, that is, n-not Lady Zydius." She laughed nervously, looking at him. "Y-You're n-not a lady..." There it is again... She kicked at the small puddle of mud, with her other foot now, both of them dirty. That was embarrassing... She shut her eyes and waited for an answer from one of them.

This time both of the older pokemon chuckled at the fairy types antics, Zydius throwing her a grin, ”Aww, you shouldn’t have. You’re pretty adorable yourself, Sugar. Isn’t she adorable?” He said to the smiling Vixen, ”Of course she’s adorable, Mr.Alexander. There is not many who would think otherwise, and if they do? They simply have bad taste.” she replied, tails speeding up in more excited dance.

Zydius immediately started snickering when the Igglybuff fell on her face, just to receive a soft meaningful smack on the leg with one of the Vulpix’s tails. Giving him a stern look, then turning back to the fairy to address her, ”Do be careful not to hurt yourself.” she started, ”I know Igglybuff such as yourself have very light bodies, but the possibility is still there.” Zydius snorted, ”Oh she’ll be fine, stop worrying.”

Jasper sighed at him before focusing on the smaller pokemom, ”It’s no issue, My Love.” she answered cheerfully, ”Formalities with me are flexible if it makes you uncomfortable.” Zydius cocked his head to the side and closed his eyes in a ‘what can you do?’ fashion. ”I’m not a Lady? Well I guess I need to put my old gowns away then.”

”You don't own gowns.”

”You don't know that.”

Jasper narrowed her eyes at her grinning guard, ”I do.”. She ignored the lynx when he waved her off and smiled at the Igglybuff instead,”I am in this forest to acquire aught of use for my friends and for possible party decor. I am an Events Planner you see, I often need to run out into dungeons to find all the items I need for parties. With my guard, I plan to scourer this forest head to toe in search of those special ingredients. Would you wish to accompany us?” She asked politely.

Alki bounced a bit away, and looked around at the trees. They were so pretty and bright and colorful and huge! She kinda wanted to be alone to see them. Come to think of it though, I'm kind of lost... I shouldve payed more attention to where I was going. Alki took a deep breath and nodded, bouncing back close to Jasper. No, Lady Jasper. I can't forget her title...

"O-Ok. I g-guess I'll tag along, but I don't know much about special items." Although, it would be cool if I found some... Alki bounced back close to Jasper, smiling. I'm just happy I didn't run into a bad Pokemon. She's nice... They called me adorable! She sped up her bounces, excited. Special items! What were they like? She took a peek into her bag and saw a whole lot of nothing. Maybe she could fill it up!

Alki began to sing softly to herself, closing her eyes and smiling. So far it had been a pretty good day. She would've preferred to be alone, but she could do much, much worse in the way of company. And it had been excellent in every other way! "J-Jas, Lady Jasper... Thank you!" She smiled. It had been a while since anyone had invited her anywhere!

Jasper cocked her head to the side with a warm smile,”It will be a delight to travel with you.” She slowly turned back to the path she was previously moving on, ”Don't worry about finding any special items for me, help is appreciated but I know you deserve to keep whatever you find.” Now the vixen started her usual walk, gracefully gliding through the leaf covered ground without kicking up any. Zydius tossed the Igglybuff a intense stare, but would wait for her to follow Jasper before joining the line.

If the Lady noticed his actions, she didn’t make any indication of caring. It was his job after all. As they walked, however long it would go silence, Jasper and Zydius alike kept their eyes and sense keen to the environment. Searching for both items and potential foes.

Alki bounced along, acutely aware of Zydius's gaze, directed straight towards her. Did I do something wrong? She wondered to herself, glancing down at her feet. They were pretty muddy... maybe that was why? She was with a Lady, after all. Alki frowned, unsure of how to fix the problem. I guess I can't... So she bounced along slowly, behind the Lady but in front of Zydius.


As they were walking through the woods, Alki caught sight of a few things. A Cascoon, for one, which Alki barely caught on time. She veered off to the side, bouncing into a mud puddle. At least I avoided it… If she wasn’t filthy before, she absolutely was now. She saw a few pretty flowers and a strange white leaf, which she didn’t pay much mind.


A Deerling was off a bit in the distance, and she waved at it, trying to be friendly, but of course, she must’ve messed something up, because the Deerling left quickly. Alki looked back down at herself. I’m filthy… But still, there wasn’t anyways she could exactly fix the problem. She bounced up a bit, to keep pace with Jasper. She could still feel Zydius’ gaze on her. She hadn’t liked that, he was a bit intimidating… “I-It’s because I’m dirty, i-isn’t it?” Alki asked, her bounce slowing a bit. “N-Nobody likes a dirty Pokemon...” She said. Her parents weren’t alone in that, were they? She looked around, seeing if she would notice anything nice. Hopefully she would. That would be cool. Maybe Zydius wouldn’t look at her so weirdly. Why was he so on edge? I hope I find something to impress them… they’re both so much fancier than me! Alki began to feel a bit out of place then, her eyes scanning the forest, hoping to find something to impress them.

Jasper's brown eyes scanned the forest floor carefully, any of the special leaves she must acquire must be hidden among the regular fallen leaves of the giant trees. She didn't particular know which leaf would be a special one, it's not like she can sense them after all. A quick glance around her proved to be what she needed, as when she looked just slightly behind her she noticed a white color on a field of reds, oranges, and yellows. Stopping in her tracks and fluidly turning around, the vixen quickly walked over to the white leaf, pawing at it curiously. "Ah, this is one of them! For the medicine! So soon after the search too. I will hope that this luck shall continue throughout this endeavor for items."

Zydius snorted from a little ways away, tail whipping from side to side in a manner that didn't necessarily mean he was happy. Cause he certainly was not, he glance back at where he saw a few other pokemon in the forest. They didn't attack them, but there was no chances that any other ferals might not. When the Igglybuff spoke up from her new spot in front of them, probably didn't notice that Jasper stopped and came back to get the white leaf, Zydius raised a non-existent eyebrow at her, "Why would we care if your dirty? Something like that doesn't matter. Unless you really think we're that shallow?" He questioned, tilting his head back.

Jasper looked over at the two after storing the new item, a tiny frown on her face, "Be careful My Love, there is a high chance that that could have been a feral. If it was, then it would surely attack us if we make it notice us. Pokemon in this forest have been becoming incredibly aggressive lately, more so than usual for a feral. Ever sense the dark clouds have taken over the skys. You won't find as many normal pokemon as before, such as ourselves." Jasper and Zydius look around briefly, after sensing no sign of movement around them, the two continued their walk.

"N-No, I-It's not that, just my p-par... People I used to know didn't like that. Being dirty. I mean." She said, addressing Zydius's statement. They weren't that shallow, no, but she didn't want to take any chances. "Sorry."

Alki tilted her head, listening carefully as Lady Jasper talked about the Pokemon in the forest. I don't want to be attacked... Her eyes drifted nearby, and she noticed something nearby, a box. She bounced over to it, and pulled it towards the other two Pokemon, wanting to show them what she'd found. "Is this useful?" She asked, stopping in front of the two. She looked around nearby, hoping to find something else to show them. That would be cool!

”Eh,” Zydius shrugged half-heartedly, ”Some people are just stick in the muds. Though it’s perfectly understandable that some pokemon like Beautiful here prefer to keep their ‘Lustrous’ fur clean at all costs. I’m used to getting… down and dirty, so it hardly bothers me.” Of course, the older pokemon didn’t miss the little slip up in speech there, but choose not to bring it up. He doesn’t care about her personal problems anyways. Lady Jasper hummed from her spot, ”I do hope you aren’t suggesting that I priority the quality of my fur over over being kind to others.” She said calmly as she walked ahead. ” No no, of course not Beautiful. I know you're above those sods.” The Shinx trotted to her other side and avoided a fluffy tail about to hit his face.


”Maybe you should keep those tails of yours in check, you have to many of them to be flailing them around willy nilly.”


”They are not flailing, you are simply too close to my backside.”


”I’m not behind you, I’m beside you. So I don’t believe that applies Beautiful.”


There little banter was stopped when the Igglybuff pulled a light blue box in front of them. When she asked if it was useful, Jasper nodded softly. ”That’s a Light Box, boxes are items that can contain a variety of goodies. But you never know what’s inside until you take it to an appraiser, they are the only ones who can open boxes that I know of. It’s best that you keep that with you until you have funds to get it opened. You might even find something just for your line!”

Alki clapped her hands as Lady Jasper told her what the box was for. Goodies? That would be cool! What would she get? She couldn't wait to go back into town with her box. "T-Thank you, Ma'am!" She said happily. She could take it back and show it to her friend! But now wasn't the time for that, she had to focus on finding more things! Alki began to look around more excitedly, pushing the light box in front of her as she bounced forward. It was kind of hard, luckily it wasn't too heavy.

Soon, she stopped pushing the Box, as something else in a clearing nearby caught her eye. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything there after all, except for a Pokemon! It was a bug type! She hadn't met many Bug types before... she shied away from it. It was a Wurmple, she had seen one before. At the Pond! But she hadn't really talked to him. Or anyone, really... it was just standing, right in front of her! "H-Hi..." She said, waving at the Wurmple. It didn't really seem to like that though. It glared at Alki, and she backed away nervously. Err... s-sorry. I didn't mean to bother you... She said, the Wurmple continuing to stare at her angrily. This was one of the Feral Pokemon then, probably... she shouldn't have bothered it.

And before she knew it, she felt a small barb penetrate her skin. "Ow!" She yelped, backing up into the Box, before scurrying back to Lady Jasper and Zydius, crying. "T-T-There's a Wurmple and it hurt me with s-something..." She began to cry, as she noticed the Wurmple begin to come out and inch towards them. Even if it was moving awfully slow, she didn't like it. She hid behind the nearest Pokemon, which happened to be Zydius.

She thought back to when she'd seen the Deerling. She'd warned her and she'd gone off alone anyways. She began to cry, both from the pain of the barb and the fact that she'd gotten the two other Pokemon with her in trouble. "S-Sorry! Sorry... P-Please forgive me!" She cried, as she watched the Wurmple. It was terrifying! What if it hurt her again? She noticed her box, nearby. At least she still had that... "I-I didn't mean to..." She said, backing up, into Lady Jasper. She looked up at the Vulpix, quivering. "I-I-I'm really, r-really sorry..." She said, bouncing in place, as she watched the Wurmple prepare a String Shot to attack Zydius.

Jasper noticed the excited igglybuff start to stray from their group on her quest for more goodies, "Don't go to far!" Jasper called out to the young pokemon in vain, sighing as the fairy type dashed off into a separate clearing. She shook her head lightly, ears flopping softly with the movement, "Children, this is how they get into trouble..." She moved to follow after the girl, when a paw on he should caused her to look back.

Zydius shook his head, "She is going to have to learn the rules of the dungeons soon enough, is she gets hurt let this be a lesson. All we need to do is make sure she doesn't die in the process. You stay ready for anything Beautiful." He frowned off at the young pokemon ran off and trotted briskly to follow, the fire type close behind. The lady didn't want the Igglybuff to get hurt, but it seems like her hopes went unanswered this time.

They heard loud yelp and saw the pink pokemon scrambling up to them with tears in her eyes, a purple thorn stuck into her soft skin. Jasper gasped softly, quickly wrapping her front leg around the pokemon and dragging her away from the feral that came inching after the significantly faster pokemon. Zydius huffed, "This is why you don't run off Sugar." he said flatly, growling fiercely at the wurmple in an attempt to scare it away.

The bug type however, was to enraged itself to care that it was attacking a larger pokemon and think sprout of white silk spat out of it's mouth. The lynx pokemon jumped to the side and charged at the bug with sparks gleaming off his fangs. He reached out and quickly smacked the bug's head down while avoiding the spike on it's head, the harshly bit into the unprotected part of it's neck with his Thunder Fang.

While the electric type attacked the Wurmple, Jasper quickly snagged the end of the barb with the tips of her fangs and yanked it out in one go, silently apologizing as she dropped it as quickly as she could before the posion could stick to her fangs and whipped what ever did get on off with the back of her paw. The fox then reached into her bag and pulled out a Pecha Berry. "Eat this, Now child." She commanded in a strong voice, a solid frown on her beautiful face.

She heard Zydius tell her something. "This is why you don't run off, sugar. He was right, she'd run off and now they had an angry... No, feral Wurmple to deal with. Although Alki couldn't deal with it, all she could do was heal. But she'd probably mess that up somehow. Wouldn't she? She sniffed, trying to stop her crying. She stopped it, for the most part. But a few tears continued to come out.

Alki plopped onto the ground and watched, whimpering, as Zydius fought the Wurmple. He was awfully good at it. Alki wasn't very good at fighting. She considered trying to use Sing to help, but she didn't know how well that would work out. She didn't feel very well, and she'd probably mess it up anyways.

Her thoughts were interrupted as she felt a sudden, sharp pain from where the Wurmple had attacked her. She let out a surprised gasp. Lady Jasper had taken out the barb. It was resting on the ground near her feet. Alki began to cry softly, she hadn't meant to get in trouble, or get hurt. She just wanted to find more stuff and maybe share with Jasper or Zydius!

"I'm sorry... R-really! Please forgive me... She cried, as she saw the Wurmple attempt to run away after it's failed attempt to fight Zydius. It seemed hurt. Alki thought about how she could get them to forgive her. Maybe if she used Heal Pulse? They might like that. She sat down and used the move, closing her eyes. She couldn't really do it well, she felt weird and a bit sick. After a few seconds, she stopped, and opened her eyes. Doing that had calmed her down a bit. She wasn't crying anymore, and it felt nice to help in some small way, even if she wasn't the greatest at using that move.

She lay down, staring at the tree tops, feeling incredibly tired all of a sudden. She didn't think she had another one of those in her. She noticed that Lady Jasper had a berry. She stared at it for a couple seconds before bouncing back up to her feet. And then falling forward. That was so dizzying! She got up, much slower this time, and took the berry. "T-Thank you... S-sorry. I'm not a very good Pokemon... In those few minutes alone she'd gotten an angry, feral Wurmple to attack them, gotten hurt, and now Lady Jasper had to use a berry on her. Weren't berries valuable? She popped the berry into her mouth, she couldn't exactly refuse, could she? She swallowed, and then whimpered and rubbed her eye, trying to stop her tears. She felt sad again, she didn't deserve that berry.

"Y-You two can have my box... I don't deserve it." Alki said, pointing at her box. Her sister wouldn't have gotten them into a mess like this, that was for sure. She was better than Alki in every way, her parents had always said that. Why couldn't she be more like Melanie, they'd asked. And now Alki was asking herself the same thing. She lay facedown on the ground and moaned. "L-Leave me alone, I d-deserve to get eaten! She was absolutely useless! She was better off alone, so she couldn't bring other Pokemon down with her horrid uselessness. Please? It occurred to her that she might be acting a bit dramatic, but she couldn't help it, she felt horrible again. And if she kept going with them she'd just get in even more trouble. Why couldn't she be more like her sister? She let out a sob, and then fell silent. Maybe if she didn't say anything they'd leave? Although a small part of Alki wanted them to comfort her, she really didn't feel like she deserved it.

Zydius snarled harshly at the Wurmple as it slipped away from him and tried to run off, highly annoyed that the feral decided to escape instead of facing him down till the end. He wanted as good fight on this trip, but looks like he won't get that chance. Before he could think about if he should chase it down to finish it because of the chance it might come back, Jasper walked up to him and placed her paw on his side. "There is no need, I doubt that it would come back." She said calmly, making the shorter pokemon look at her.

"There is always the chance...I rather no let a threat get away like that, but I suppose it's safe enough to assume that." He shook his head lightly, before both of them looked down to the saddened fairy type. Jasper spoke again to Zydius in a quite tone, "Looks like we have some educating to do..."

Jasper could tell at this moment that Alki was completely ignorant to the ways of this land, has her parents not taught her how to survive outside of towns? Not taught her how to defend herself is she was alone? For shame, the Vulpix thought. This child will surely die an early death if she remains alone and uneducated, and something like that just does not sit right with the vixen. The fire type sighed heavily, reaching up to rub the side of her face. "Please, stop your quailing child. Drama and wallowing in self-pity will get you nowhere. Stand up and face me when I speak to you. I can see now that you do not know how to survive on your own nor do you know the common rules of survival outside of towns.
