Pretty Leaves [Horochi]

It was beautiful. Okay, this place was more than it. It was splendid, and amazing. Mei's eyes widened as she entered the Copse. It was like as if she had stepped into her own world in the middle of autumn. Small leaves shed around her from nearby trees, as the wind blew them away. But she was so into herself, she didn't notice the last stepping stone. There was a small squeal, and a splash as Mei lost her balance and plunged into the water. She broke back up into the surface, coughing and spluttering, frantically dog paddling into the island.

"Oh Great." The Eevee muttered, shaking herself and sending water droplets everywhere. Way to go life, ruin out her lovely trip by this small dip. The water was freezing too. But what else could be done? Mei would have to wait, and dry herself before starting to explore. She didn't want to be plastered with sticky leaves on the way back, because leaves and water don't exact mix.

Horochi wandered around the thicket of trees, gazing at how the autumn leaves reminded him of his own fire, and he could easily picture himself camouflaging in the trees, since many of the leaves matched the colors of his feathers, but the main reason he was here was to hopefully find the Shrine Of The Fallen. He had heard about the shrine, and about how there was a stone tablet in it depicting strange characters. Horochi simply passed this off as a group of rednecks being unable to read the Unown alphabet, and was determined to find and decipher it.

As he was passing by a small lake, he noticed an eevee crawling out of it and shaking off the excess water. He wondered if she was heading to the shrine too, as he would like another travel buddy to accompany him on his first real exploration. He walked up to her and kindly said "Hey, watcha' doin'?"

Mei hissed a little. She was hoping to make it into the cover of the trees without being noticed, but apparently luck wasn't in her way. It never was. A wet eevee will bring nothing but attention, and that's true. "It's none of your business!" Mei spat, shaking one of her front paws. Her mood had been dampened by the dip into the water. Mei wasn't exactly a big fan of water, and never wanted to be a Vaporeon. Water and most Eevees just don't mix. Her fur's all plastered onto her body making her look like a fox who almost drowned.

Horochi was taken aback by the eevee's rude demeanor, and soon felt his flame sac start to flare up from anger, and tiny embers started leaking from his beak as he yelled "Hey, what's with the jerkish attitude, ya li'l piece a crap?! I just wanted ta know if ya were headin' ta the Shrine A The Fallen too! That's all I wanted ta know! Ya didn't need ta explode on me like that! Ya know what, go ahead, act like a childish jerk why don'cha, 'cause I don't need ta take the crap that you practically force-feed everybody with that attitude!" After that, Horochi stormed off deeper into the forest, feeling like burning down the whole place out of pure rage.

Mei growled angrily as she watched the Fennekin stalk off. Good riddance. The Eevee thought shaking another one of her legs to get some more water of. In fact, she was also going to go to the Shrine, but maybe later. She didn't want to bump into that Pokemon. Once she dried up. Meaning that she was going to have to take the long way around. She didn't complain of course. She will get a scenic route, although it would be a really soggy one. Mei got to her paws, and started walking.

A feeling of regret washed over Horochi as he walked away. He mentioned her exploding on him, but what right did he have to say that when he had just spontaneously exploded all over her like a cowardly electrode in a haunted house? Horochi looked back at the lake, the eevee was gone, so he couldn't just go back and apologize for his massive overreaction. Pushing the thought out of his head, he continued down the path that he was following before, wishing that his massive anger issues could just be blown away like many of the leaves around him...

Mei walked on, puddles of water forming after her, and some droplets falling from her chest fur. She felt like a living walking sponge, her fur absorbing water up like it was nothing. The trees cast shadows on the ground, dappling them with their maple-like shapes. Several leaves were falling, covering the ground with leaf litter. Mei cracked a smile. It was beautiful. She remembered Autumns like this, only that this was much more peaceful. A small seed caught her eye. It was a blast seed. Mei picked it up. It could come in handy in the future.

As Horochi was walking down the path, he started hearing a faint voice, saying "...candy...candy...candy...candy..." He turned his head towards the source to find in the distance, a lone phantump floating through the copse. Was it feral? Probably not, as ferals rarely, if ever, talk. It peaked Horochi's interest, but also seemed a bit dangerous, so Horochi decided to follow it and see where it led him.

The phantump continued to float through the copse, repeating the word "candy" over and over again, completely unaware that it was being followed. Then it noticed something that Horochi couldn't see. In the distance, the phantump saw an eevee that looked to be in a desperate need for a dry-off. This caused the stump pokemon to stop repeating "candy" as it floated towards her, with Horochi still close behind, completely unaware of whom he would meet again.

Energy: 7 - 1 [Green Leaf] - 1 [Orange Gummi] - 1 [Light Box] = 4

Mei bent down, sniffing on the ground, smiling at the things she found. There was an orange gummi, lying near a blue looking box. They could come in handy in the future. As Mei started to make her way through the path of leaves, she could make out a small green leaf in the midst of the orange ones. Mei picked it up. She wanted to keep something to remind her of this beautiful place.

The phantump floated in front of the eevee as she was picking up a tiny green leaf. At this point, Horochi couldn't believe his luck. This was his chance to apologize to that eevee for getting super angry out of nowhere, but with the phantump there, he decided that the best course of action was to watch how things would play out. Horochi watched the phantump float down to the eevee's level and ask "Do you have candy?" in a calm and quiet voice.

Mei looked up, looking startled at the feral Pokemon which appeared in front of her. Oh great. Just what she needed in this lovely day. She hissed, baring her teeth. After Pricklemist, she wasn't exactly fond of ghost Pokemon. Her fur automatically bristled. "No." She said, sounding pretty hostile. Her tail started to lash in a sign of agitation. "I do NOT want any candy and I don't have any at all. Why don't you go on your own way?" Her claws slid in and out.

The phantump started looking a bit scared by the eevee's angry demeanor. Did Horochi really piss her off that much? He felt like a rock was weighing down his stomach at the thought of it...yet the phantump looked like it was about to cry. "B-b-but........I want candy.......really badly..." it coed in a shaky and timid voice.

Mei gave a small start at the Phantump. The Pokemon... was crying? Holy Arceus. Mei had no idea what to do next. She seriously wasn't good at all this, with her lack of experience with baby Pokemon. Of course, long time ago she used to babysit a baby Pichu... but that was in the past. "I don't have candy." She said, trying to soften her voice. "No candy at all. Just several boxes and sticks. And they are not edible at all." The Eevee racked her brain, trying to know what she could do next. Nothing came out. She was blank. She deserved a medal for this.

The phantump seemed really depressed at this point, like its eyes were about to instantly liquefy and turn into tears, but instead it said "But...........but.................I.......WANT.......CANDEEEEEEEEEE!" in a loud, angry voice as it attacked the eevee using wood hammer, with the look of sadness being quickly replaced by a face of pure rage.

Mei's eyes widened at the Phantump's outburst. "You got to be kidding me!" The Eevee spat in anger, doubling back and dodging the wood hammer by just a small inch. The Eevee slid back, her paws scraping on dirt and leaves, spraying them everywhere. "I don't have candy, and go and accept your stupid reality!" Mei was pissed by this stupid Pokemon. It was spoiled, and being a complete idiot. Mei's head whipped towards a path closest to her. It was her exit, and she was going to make a run for it.
