{Energy: 20 - 5 = 15

Hidon grumbled as he walked through the forest. He couldn't believe the luck he was having right now. Pilot was currently off doing who-knows-what, and here he was not finding a single foe with which to start his training. Meanwhile, that Taillow was probably on his way to Rainfront and getting stronger by the second. His teammate had already beaten him once before they had actually formed their team, and now the gap in their strength was only going to widen further unless the Charmander could find something to battle against. He needed the battle experience and he needed to train harder than ever if he didn't want to lose to him again. But he'd been wandering the forest nearby for a good few minutes and had yet to come across even one sign of life that wasn't just vegetation. Thankfully, the day was still young so he had plenty of time, but he still grew more and more frustrated when he failed to find anything.

The Charmander had wanted to start his training with a mission from the bulletin board, but his team was currently at the lowest rank. And because of that, there weren't really any urgent missions or outlaw missions for him to accomplish in Pilot's absence. So he had decided to instead spend the day training himself. He had merely chosen Pecha Forest because it was the closest, and he'd heard rumors that the Pokémon here were tougher than they had been when he'd first arrived. So, what better way for him to train than to find a strong Pokémon and see how he stacked up against the strength of the wild and feral Pokémon in the area?

And so, he continued his march through the trees, tail flame illuminating any tree shadow he stepped underneath. He let out an audible and frustrated sigh. "Come on, where is everything!?" he growled aloud. He was on the hunt for some Pokémon to fight...and he was not leaving until he found them.

{This is open for anyone to join, right? If not, I'm really sorry!}

{Energy: 19 - 5 = 14}

Xander's eyes flickered left and right, trying to see everything he could. This was the first time he had ever been in a mystery dungeon and he was nervous. The Houndour knew he was weak, but he wanted to get stronger. That was why he had come to the Pecha Forest. It didn't seem that dangerous here, right? He hadn't run into a single pokemon the entire time he had been in this forest, and he was almost glad that he hadn't. Maybe he wouldn't run into anyone, but would that really help him become stronger? Nope. Shaking his head, he sighed. I'm going to have to be brave in order to become stronger, so why not start now? He puffed out his chest a little, faking his confidence, and continued to walk through the forest. On the inside, he was incredibly nervous, but on the outside, he looked as if he could take on anything this dungeon could throw at him.

As he was walking, Xander thought he saw something. Perhaps it was another pokemon? Although he was scared, his curiosity got the best of him. He crouched, low to the ground, and crawled forward. Maybe he was just seeing things. But as he got closer, he learned that he did actually see a pokemon. He quickly recognized it as a Charmander. Another fire type pokemon! I might actually have a chance at beating it! He decided to get a little closer, but... He made the mistake of stepping on some twigs. His heart beat sped up and he tried to hide himself from the view of the other pokemon. It took him only a few seconds to realize that the other pokemon was most likely smart enough to find him. So, instead of hiding, he stood up and waited for the Charmander to do anything. He was expecting to be attacked, so he was watching carefully. He knew that there was a chance of the pokemon being friendly, but he doubted that.

Breeze
Energy:16 - 5 = 11
Items in Use: N/A

Breeze padded through the forest, calmly observing the motions of the nature around her. She'd had little luck in Rainfront Town with either finding sparring partners or anyone who was interested in joining up with her idea for forming a new Tribe.

So, when she had heard of Grassveil Town and the Guild that resided there, she decided to travel to the town to find potential recruits for her Tribe, and, barring that, someone to spar with and increase her skills.

These reasons found Breeze wandering through Pecha Forest, attempting to find the way to Grassveil. She heard a shout ring through the trees. She cocked her head to the side curiously. There had been a noticeable lack of feral pokemon about, but she had figured that the local Guild had scared off all the prey in the surrounding forests.

Breeze walked towards the sound of the voice, emerging from within the depths of a large bush to the sight of a charmander glaring around, seemingly frustrated with one thing or another.

"Is there something the matter? You seem rather fired up, if you'll excuse the pun," Breeze stated, eyeing the charmander's flaring tail.

I guess we have another person in our RP~ For future reference, open threads will say (OPEN) next to it, usually. ^^ But I'm fine with you joining in our RP, as long as Digi doesn't mind~

Hunting in Pecha Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in Pecha   Hunting in Pecha EmptyTue Oct 13, 2015 2:23 am

{Heheh. yeah, I'm totally fine with having Xander join us on this little hunting trip. xD Just try to make sure you ask next time, alright Sylveon? =}}

It took the Charmander by surprise when he heard a swift snap of some twigs not too long after his exclamation into the woods. He immediately turned to face the direction from which the soft snap had come from. It actually took Hidon quite a while to finally find the source of the noise. After all, the black coloration on the Houndour was difficult to find in the shadows of the trees, despite the fact that it was not nearly as dark as Shadowhue. Thankfully, the orange stuck out and was probably the only reason he could even see him, despite him standing in supposedly plain sight. Though that was probably more because Hidon seemed to have quite a tough time finding anything that was even partially hidden. Perhaps he needed to work on his perception sometime in the future....

Whatever the case, he recognized the Houndour now. And luckily for him, the Pokémon was one that he recognized as a Fire-type! He grinned, knowing fully that this Pokémon would make a great opponent. After all, neither of them had an advantage over the other...and even better, they were of the same type. As such, fighting him would be a real test of his strength! He then crossed his arms and opened his mouth...but stopped his would-be challenge before it even began.

Another voice had cut through the open air, causing Hidon to turn around and find the new source of the sound. Thankfully, this one was even easier to find than the houndour, thanks to his bright blue coloration. This Pokémon he did not immediately recognized, but immediately assumed him to be a Water Pokémon. An interesting potential challenge to say the least. After all, he had a DISadvantage against this one. As such, the fight would be more challenging and better for his training. Especially if it helped him figure out how to better fight Water-types.

Though he had to admit that that pun was a little bit of a put-off. He had always found those kind of jokes groan-inducing.

"Heh. Not anymore," Hidon replied to the Mudkip before gesturing toward the Houndour. "You're just in time to watch me beat this guy." He then paused for a moment, turning to look back at Xander again. "...Er, that is if he did come here to fight or something."

{I'm really, really sorry about that! But thanks for letting me join, and I'll be sure to ask next time!}

At first, Xander was surprised that it took so long for the Charmander to find him, but then he remembered that he was mostly black. Oops. He realized that he most likely could have gotten away, but his confidence was slowly building up, and he almost didn't care. Thinking the other pokemon was about to attack, his eyes locked on his opponent, waiting for him to make the first move.

The Houndour was so focused on his opponent that he jumped when he heard the voice of another pokemon. Quickly, he calmed himself down, but he really hoped that they didn't seem him; he didn't want to appear weak. Changing his focus to the pokemon that had just appeared, he recognized it as a Mudkip. I really hope that it doesn't want to fight me... I'd probably lose against a water-type. He listened to them talking and didn't say a word. But, when the Charmander claimed that it could beat him, he suddenly became very competitive and slightly irritated.

"I am, in fact, looking for a fight. I don't plan on losing, either, especially not to another fire-type." Now, he was confident, maybe even a little bit cocky. I'm going to win, I have to! It was funny how a few words could change him from being a coward to being extremely competitive.

Hidon gauged the Mudkip for any kind of reaction for a few moments, but didn't seem to be getting anything of particular interest. Perhaps even looking for a hint at another potential challenge...or even a three-way battle? That could have been interesting...although both himself and the Houndour would be at a type disadvantage. But it wasn't until the Houndour began to speak again that he finally turned to look at him once more. It would seem that this Houndour was more than willing to participate in the battle at hand after all. That was good...that was the whole reason he'd come here in the first place, after all. And thus, a slight yet cocky grin crossed the Charmander's face.

"Heheh...well, you're not gonna have much of a choice in the matter," he replied. "'Cause you're dealing with the great Hidon, leader of the up-and-coming Team Rising. And if you really wanna fight, then I'll show you why." Then, without hesitation or fear, the Charmander took a few steps closer to Xander, appearing more than ready to begin. "So...if you want to battle, then bring it on...pup." He had decided to toss in that last taunt as a means to hopefully coax Xander into attacking. After all, he wanted to see what the Houndour was capable of first.

He cast a quick glance at Breeze, checking to see if the Mudkip was going to react at all to their quick exchange...and also check for any interest in the battle about to take place before him. After all, if the Mudkip planned to watch him, he needed to make sure he left a strong impression.

Hunting in Pecha Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in Pecha   Hunting in Pecha EmptyFri Oct 23, 2015 6:32 pm

Breeze hummed in the back of her throat in amusement as the charmander declared his intentions to the entire forest, proud and confident in himself. Apparently she had stumbled upon a spar. This did not bother the mudkip in the least; in fact, she intended upon challenging the winner to a spar, after a rest period, of course. There was no victory in beating a weary or disabled opponent, after all.

"I see," she said quietly, as the two fire pokemon traded taunts about their own confidence. She rolled her eyes and backed away from the battlefield, sitting calmly by the roots of an old oak tree to watch the oncoming fight with interested eyes.

meeeeerrrrp sorry about the late reply, forgot. :/

Xander snarled after listening to the Charmander talk about how great he was. He watched his enemy, waiting for him to make the first move. But, the other fire-type didn't move from his spot. I guess he wants me to attack first... Should I?... He guessed that if he waited long enough, Hidon would eventually get tired of waiting and attack. The Houndour didn't want to wait, though. He was ready to test his strength and see how strong the other pokemon really was. For a few moments, he stood there, planning out his strategy. Well... Ember wouldn't be a good choice... And my only other move that actually causes damage is thunder fang... I guess I'll just have to use that. Finally, Xander lunged forward and stopped right before colliding with the Charmander. Opening his mouth, his fangs glowed yellow and sparks surrounded the two pokemon. He aimed for one of Hidon's arms and bit down, hoping that the fire-type wouldn't manage to dodge his attack.

Hunting in Pecha Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in Pecha   Hunting in Pecha EmptyFri Oct 23, 2015 11:50 pm

Hidon smirked slightly when Xander snarled at him. Clearly, he'd touched a nerve. But that was fine with him. After all, he was going to win this battle, so it was perfectly fine for him to get on his foe's nerves and brag about it a bit, right? However, he soon distracted himself as he turned to look at the Mudkip, realizing that the Water-type had not simply walked away. Instead, he had merely backed away and sat, clearly interested in watching the fight unfold. Good...if he was really that interested then perhaps he could fight him afterward. It should be fun to-

"Huh?" Hidon murmured, quickly turning his head back around when he saw a blur of movement out of the corner of his eye. His eyes widened slightly when he realized that Xander was already on the attack. The Houndour was rushing him! Did he planned to tackle him or something? He braced himself, ready to roll with the punches and see just how physically strong this canine Pokémon really was before showing him what true strength was! ...But the opportunity never came. Instead of colliding with him, the Houndour came to a stop, fangs sparking and glowing a bright yellow. He had seen this attack before and knew what was about to come. But he'd been taken off-guard and couldn't react in time.

The Houndour's fangs sank into Hidon's right arm, causing him to growl in pain. The unexpected attack did more than simply inflict damage, however. The unexpected blow had caused him to Flinch in the pain, sinking down onto his knees at the Houndour's feet. He couldn't believe he had let his guard down. And now, he was already on his knees at the feet of his foe, bending and giving way to his strength. This was certainly not the greatest nor the most graceful start to a fight he'd ever done....

PostSubject: Re: Hunting in Pecha   Hunting in Pecha EmptySun Oct 25, 2015 6:15 pm

When Xander felt his teeth sink into the skin of the Charmander, he smirked. After a few moments, he let go of his arm and watched as the fire-type fell to the ground. "Who's so great now?" He taunted. Even though he knew the battle had just started, he felt like he had already won. Taking advantage of him while he was on the ground was probably a good idea, but the Houndour only knew two moves that did damage. His other move was ember, which wasn't the best idea. But maybe... He let out a howl, which raised his attack stat a little bit. Now, he felt more confident about using the move ember, though he knew it still wouldn't be as powerful as thunder fang. He would probably end up using it later in the battle, but he didn't want this battle to end too quickly.

"Hey, you gonna get up anytime soon?" He asked with a smirk still on his face. "Now, it's your turn to show me what you're capable of." He wasn't going to make the mistake of taking his eyes off of his enemy. Not after the Charmander did. I bet I can win this! He thought happily while he waited for the pokemon to get up off the ground.

Hunting in Pecha Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in Pecha   Hunting in Pecha EmptySun Oct 25, 2015 7:10 pm

Hidon scowled as Xander taunted him from his superior position. Eventually, the Houndour released his arm, though he still took his time rising from the ground. That electrocution had been surprisingly painful. Still...it wasn't something he hadn't felt before. Unfortunately, he didn't have much room to respond to the Houndour, as the Dark-type Pokémon was the one standing tall. He couldn't make excuses...he just had to keep fighting. And as the canine Pokémon began to let out a loud Howl, he began to think on what he should do next. Honestly, from this position, there was not much he could do. His two stronger moves would require distance to cross so that he would have time to actually form the attacks.

His only other alternative was Scratch in terms of damage-dealing moves.He considered that, but then decided not to. No, he had a better idea. He wasn't going to Scratch him. A Scratch attack did not give him the satisfaction he wanted. No, he wanted this Houndour to feel the full strength behind him. And so, he clenched his right claws into a fist, prepared to swing a regular punch attack up at the Houndour's jaw.

But he stopped himself when the Houndour continued talking at last. He let out a growl at the Dark Pokémon's taunts. "Fine...you wanna see what I'm capable of? You got it!" he challenged. He then quickly rose to his feet again. That last taunt had caused him to throw any thoughts of a weaker, improvised attack from his mind. Instead, he was determined for his next hit to be the strongest that he could muster. With that in mind, he leaped backward, away from Xander, in an attempt to gain some extra ground he could charge across. He then began rushing forward, attempting to close the distance between them once more. As the Charmander charged, a bluish aura began to emanate around the Charmander's body. By the time about half the distance was crossed, the blue aura began to focus itself, taking on a draconic shape. From there, the aura moved from his body to centering around Hidon's right arm, still clenched into a fist. Hidon would then thrust his fist forward, hoping to slam a powerful right hook into the left side of the Houndour's facing utilizing the move he learned from his father: his strongest though somewhat draining move, Dragon Rush!
