Hunting in the Forest Empty
PostSubject: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyThu Apr 30, 2015 7:56 pm

{Energy: 19-5 = 14}

"Hmph...so this is the Pecha Forest, huh?" the a voice murmured as its owner made his way between the various trees, scanning the area around him as he moved. So far, there hadn't been a single sign of any kind of living thing, other than the vegetation itself. There were no other Pokémon nearby, as far as he could tell, and that was rather disappointing. He had come here primarily for three reasons. The first was because it was recommended to him by some natives in Grassveil Town. If he was looking to start up an Exploration Team at the guild, he should need to not only find a teammate, but also stock up on some of the berries and seeds you could find hidden away in this forest. The second reason was also tied to the first. He needed to find a worthwhile teammate. And, just maybe, he might find another newcomer out here like him to fight with him. As long as they impressed him, of course.

The third reason was more simple than the first and second. He needed to train. As hard as he could. Push his body to its limits. And if he could scavenge for his own supplies while he was out here, then that was even better. He somewhat doubted he could find a worthwhile challenge from wild Pokémon this close to the town, but he might end up coming across another strong Pokémon that would battle with him while he was here. Plus, the wild and feral Pokémon could serve as worthwhile practice before he went out and did battle with Pokémon in more challenging locations, such as the mountains and out in the thicker part of the forest, which the locals called Shadowhue.

"...Tch," Hidon grunted, clicking his tongue. "Don't tell me that this whole trip is just a waste of my time. I've been walking around for at least a couple minutes now and still haven't found a thing." He had to admit, he was somewhat tempted to just turn around and leave. But no, he had spent the time coming all the way out here. He was not about to come back empty handed and have it be a waste of time. And so, he pressed onwards, still walking nonchalantly between the trees, bored eyes looking left and right for anything of interest.

Besides...leaving now would be like admitting the dungeon had defeated him by hiding its goods. And he was not about to let that happen.

Hunting in the Forest Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyFri May 01, 2015 12:41 am

After his previous trip to the relatively peaceful seeming island he had visited, Deimos had found himself heading back towards Grassveil, he was trying to return to the nearby pond, however he had to pass through a relatively familiar locale to get there from his current location. That locale as it happened was the Pecha Forest, a place that he had come to learn geographically relatively well due to his repeated trips to the location. As of such he hadn't found any issue with the choice of going around or through, passing through it was the quickest way there.

Deimos quietly walked through the Treeline, being as relatively cautios as he could in case of traps, he wanted to be ready if he encountered something hostile to him, what kind of 'Knight' would rush along head first blindly? If there was a kind that did so Deimos most certainly was not one of them. he'd noted the relative peace and quiet of the area... No Wild Pokemon appeared to be close, nor could he sense a disturbance through the earth, he figured he was safe for the moment... How long would that last?

Hunting in the Forest Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyFri May 01, 2015 1:23 am

Hidon continued mindlessly making his way around the trees, trying to discover some form of life or Pokémon that he could challenge to battle. "Ugh," he groaned, already growing far too impatient to be wandering aimlessly through the trees. If only he knew where the Pokémon of the forest liked to stick around. Unless they also liked to just wander around aimlessly and he was simply being completely unlucky.

Eventually, however, Hidon paused. Something caught his attention...but he wasn't really sure what it was at first. It was as though he had acted on instinct, but nothing met his senses afterward. Had he just imagined something? He took a moment to sit still and listen to his surroundings intently. Eventually...he heard it again. A slight, abnormal rustling of foliage and crunching of forestry beneath some kind of feet that he wouldn't have normally heard just wandering and grumbling. He let a small grin cross his face as he realized that the source of the sound was most likely another Pokémon. Finally...somebody that might actually keep him entertained.

With that thought on his mind, the Charmander quickly rushed forward, not even bothering to remain hidden or be subtle about any of his movements. He tried to follow the source of the movement to the best of his ability. He wasn't exactly the best tracker, and he was honestly rather lucky to have heard the sound in the first place, but he could at least make his way to where he had heard it. Eventually, he exploded through some thick foliage, somehow avoiding setting the whole thing ablaze with his tail...and ended up right on a crash course with an Absol. And if nothing was done, he'd end up accidentally crashing into the Disaster Pokémon.

Hunting in the Forest Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptySun May 03, 2015 11:04 pm

Slowing down for a moment, Deimos began to take in his surroundings. It was quiet and relatively tranquil, an occasional breeze rustling the leaves up above, no Pokemon causing a major ruckus. At least until now, Deimos had detected Earth, or to better put it Soil, being kicked, thrown in the direction leading away from Deimos. From this he concluded something was charging towards him, perhaps another Feral Pokemon like those he had encountered before.

Soon enough he could hear the sound sprinting, leaves being crunched underfoot as a being rushed forwards. As soon as a Charmander burst forth Deimos advanced forwards in the direction he had originally been heading, moving out of the Charmanders path... A Feral Charmander would not make sense for certain considering the environment. Instead of wasting his time with pointless socialisation Deimos merely kept walking Instead of turning around to chat.

Hidon stumbled through the brush and met nothing but air, thanks to Deimos' quick understanding and evasion. He stumbled to a stop, still well on his feet and starting to pant slightly from the dashing he was not used to doing quite yet. "Huff...huff..." he murmured, turning to look at the Pokémon that he had just narrowly managed to avoid barreling his body into. For a moment, their gazes met. While Deimos quickly identified Hidon as a Charmander and was already set to walk away without any further communication, Hidon was not as quick to come up with any answers. He had no idea what Pokémon was standing in front of him right now. But when he realized that Deimos was already walking away without even hearing him out, he quickly shoved his cares to the side.

"Hey you!" he called after the Absol, stepping forward and trying to stay with him. "Where d'you think you're going? I didn't come charging after you just so that you could walk away." He sped up his walking until he was almost within claw's reach of the strange Pokémon. "The name's Hidon...and I'm here primarily to challenge you!" He then smirked, crossing his arms and impatiently awaited the Absol's response. "So c'mon, let's have a quick battle! It'll make both of us stronger and I promise not to beat on you TOO hard."

Hunting in the Forest Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyMon May 04, 2015 10:48 pm

To be completely honest Deimos didn't care what so ever regarding his random encounter with the Charmander, having already removed all thought of it from his mind as he walked away. It didn't matter why the Pokemon was there, Deimos had no reason to stick around and talk, he was merely passing through after all. When the Charmander called out to and ran after Him Deimos let off a very faint sigh, he was hoping to avoid something like this.

Hearing the Charmander's challenge Deimos merely quickened his place. "I have no intention of reason to fight you, if anything you'd probably just cause a disaster by starting a Forest Fire. If I was heading somewhere for combat it most certainly would not be here" Deimos responded, showing his clear lack of interest in fighting the Charmander, he had no tangible reason to engage in pointless battle.

If there was anything Hidon didn't like about how this encounter was going was that it was being avoided altogether. At first, though, he didn't know what to say. The Absol had started just walking away and now he was declining the battle in its entirety? He clicked his tongue in annoyance, quickening his own pace to match the Absol's again. "For your information, I don't even know any Fire-type attacks yet," he retorted, crossing his arms as he walked with he Absol. "And my tail doesn't seem to want to ignite things very easily for some reason. I'd have to actually be trying to catch something on fire to do it."

The Charmander smirked slightly, though. This Pokémon was unlike any he had ever seen before. He looked rather sleek and cool...but also looked rather strong. And he really wanted to fight with him. and once he thought that way about somebody, he was not one to give it up very easily. "C'mon, what are you, a coward?" he replied. "Or maybe you're just really that weak? C'mon, why don'tcha just do it? Don't you want to become stronger? There's no better way than to fight, right?"

"I have no reason to waste my time fighting with a random Charmander, now leave me be" Deimos spoke as he quickened his pace once again, clearly not viewing fighting as a worthwhile task at the moment. Sure as a 'Knight' the extra experience could be nice but there was no reason to go ahead with this.

His mind had gone elsewhere for a moment, back to that scenario up in the Mountains... that Absol and his lackeys... something struck Deimos as familiar in some odd way... as if he personally knew them, though he couldn't explain it what so ever. He shrugged it off and began focusing on the Earth, figuring that he should remain diligent in case of attack.

Hidon hesitated when the Absol said what he did. His eyes widened slightly and he stopped following for a moment. Just some random Charmander, was he? Fighting him would just be a waste of time, would it? He growled lowly, clenching his claws into fists and raising them slightly. He would just have to show this Absol what he could do! Then maybe he would realize that this would be no waste of time. He could provide enough of a challenge for him for sure. He'd be able to convince him then that, if nothing else, this kind of experience was not one he should be passing up so lightly.

"Just some random Charmander, am I?" he growled lowly. "I'll show you." Then, without further hesitation, he rushed forward. As he moved, a draconic aura began to surround his body, making it glow and giving him the appearance of a charging dragon. He then attempted to slam his body into Deimos', using his Dragon Rush attack.

Hunting in the Forest Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyWed Jun 10, 2015 9:17 pm

It didn't particularly take long for Deimos to sense the earth being thrown up behind him, given the angle and trajectory he figured it was some sort of charge. As a response to said advance Deimos sighed and utilisied Stone Edge while still walking forwards, sending a razor sharp blade of stone rising upwards from the crust. His intention and aim for the move was to line up with the presumed trajectory of his opponent, either to force it to go around, land the hit directly or to block the attack. Any of said three scenarios would've been beneficial to Deimos, as they'd give him a few extra moments to react and counter attack.

"You throw up the earth beneath you trivially... Clearly showing it no respect..." Deimos commented, his tone relatively nonchalant, either he wasn't taking the opponent seriously or he truly viewed this as a waste of time.

PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyWed Jun 10, 2015 11:14 pm

Hidon had not expected his opponent to respond to him as quickly as he did. Let alone without even turning back around to face him again. The Charmander's eyes widened with surprise as his Dragon Rush smashed powerfully into the crust of earth that suddenly jutted out from the ground in front of him. The two attacks collided, moves of equal power smacking against each other. However, there was a key difference between the two attacks. The Absol was a physically stronger Pokémon, meaning that his attack struck forward with more force than his Dragon Rush move. The attack not only held up against his draconic attack, but it forced him backward, causing the Fire-type Pokémon to fall onto his tail with a grunt. He glared at the Stone Edge that had bested his Dragon Rush, surprised to have been repelled so easily...and frustrated about the same thing.

He shook his head and completely ignored Deimos' words. They meant nothing to him right now. Showing the earth beneath his feet respect? Why would he need to do something so stupid? No, instead he was going to try another attack against his foe...and he wasn't going to lose this time. He scowled and got back to his feet. "Grrr...I don't care about respecting the whatever!" he growled at Deimos. "All I care about is stopping you from underestimating me!" With that, he began another charge forward. This time, though, his body began to become engulfed in flames as he charged, speed increasing as he rushed forward. He charged forward, utilizing his first Fire-type move. This was going to be the first use of Flame Charge since he bought the TM, but he was sure it'd be fine.

"If you can't respect the earth beneath you... You'll never be able to defeat an Absol cost efficiently, the earth tells us your every step" Deimos commented, merely shrugging at his Opponents reaction. Clearly the Charmander was seeing red, blinded by will to fight a pointless battle... That would only make him an easier foe to out think. Deimos felt the temperature rise slightly, causing him to glance at the now fire coated Pokemon... What was the name of that move again... Flame wheel? Flame... Flame Charge, that was it.

"I am sorry to say but unless you can find a way to beat a physically stronger species quickly... You will fail, Time is on my side" He spoke, triggering Future Sight. Every word he had been saying so far was a test, Brute force may be effective but a small amount of strategy easilly beats it. Now that he'd triggered his late activating move he figured it was time he went on the offensive.

He swiftly turned around and charged at his opponent, a faint dark aura being visible as he lashed out, he was utilising Sucker Punch.

PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyWed Jun 10, 2015 11:52 pm

Hidon growled as he listened to Deimos' words. He took them in for a moment, but shook his head again. Once more, the information just went into one ear and right out the other. He did not care about what this Absol had to say. He just needed to smash this Absol into the ground to get him to respect his strength. "I don't care about the earth!" he growled at the Dark-type Pokémon. "I just care about beating you! And don't worry, I will!" As he spoke, he continued pushing himself forward, his Flame Charge attack ready to strike his foe and throw him down into the earth that he seemed to love so much. "I'll show you who'll fail!" he cried out as he was about to strike.

Unfortunately for the Charmander, however, Deimos was once again on top of things during the entire exchange. He did not notice the Future Sight move getting thrown up, but he certainly saw the Absol turn around and finally face him, charging in his direction to meet him head on. He smirked as he saw this, as he saw it as a chance to finally strike his opponent and show him what his power could really do! However, there was more to his foe's attack than he expected. His eyes went wide as the Absol utilized his Sucker Punch attack, making the first strike his. The blow struck true into the pit of his stomach. The force of the attack actually stopped his Flame Charge where it was, the fire dissipating immediately while he himself sank to his knees at the Absol's feet, clutching his stomach and coughing from the impact. "What...the heck was that...!?" he growled under his breath, trying to desperately regain the air wind had just lost.

PostSubject: Re: Hunting in the Forest   Hunting in the Forest EmptyThu Jun 11, 2015 12:07 am

So far it seemed Deimos's strategy was working. Despite attempts by Deimos himself to clue the Charmander in on how deimos could track his movement it refused to listen... He truly had the mental advantage in this case. As his Sucker Punch completely bypassed the speed increase his opponent had gained from Flame Charge Deimos turned as if to walk once again. "That was the Dark type move Sucker Punch, a priority one, relatively high power attack that Benefits from both my species high physical offensive capacity and from my Dark typing. It can only be utilised when an enemy is using an attacking move, but the tactical value is well worth it I find. Rage will not win you this battle, no matter how much anger you release" he spoke, doing his best to explain how Deimos could handle such a collision so easilly.

Naturally he did neglect to mention the clock was still ticking on his Future Sight, the Charmander didn't seem to want his help from what it had said previously... If it didn't want the assistance Deimos wouldn't force it, his choice, his loss.

Hidon listened to what Deimos had to say for a moment, trying to understand what had happened. He had struck first and struck faster, yet this Absol's Sucker Punch attack was able to counter his every offensive move that he tried to make. How was he supposed to win this fight if, no matter what speed advantage he had, his foe could just bypass them and strike first and stop his attack at the same time? He growled in frustration, not seeing any path to victory. Still...he refused to give up so easily. Especially not with how much this Absol was underestimating him...or at least, that's how he saw it. He did not seem to notice that Deimos was actually trying to help him improve himself here. All he could see was his foe that he wanted to take down more than anything.

He scowled and finally pushed himself back to his feet. "I don't care what kind of advantageous moves you have," he growled at him. "I won't let you beat me that easily." He had taken some good damage from that Sucker Punch, but he was far from beaten in his mind. He clenched his fist and watched Deimos turn around, obviously not seeing him as much of a threat again. He reached out with his left arm and tried to grab hold of the Absol's tail, trying to pull him backward...and so that he could swing his right fist forward, attempting to throw a basic attack punch at the Absol's side, hoping to knock him off of his feet...or at least cause SOME kind of damage.
