| Pterra nearly did a double-take when Synd'r's voice changed to a softer and sweeter version of the one he had been hearing. It was disconcerting to hear the mocking, sardonic voice change into one of innocent sweetness.
As it was, once he got over the shock, he chuckled internally. Oh, she's good at this, he thought to himself in amusement.
He cast a glance over the two pokemon and gave a dip of his head, bowing far lower than he'd ever done in his life, slipping into his own role surprisingly readily. "Good day, my fellow pokemon. Lovely day, is it not?" He found it easy to slip back into the polite and cultured voice he'd used around his parents and teachers.
The teddiursa cast a look over the two pokemon and dipped its head in return. "I suppose," he responded. "I hope you two are being careful. Our guild warned us that a nasty outlaw was lurking here in the copse."

| Synd'r's brown gaze flicked over to Pterra as he fell into his own role. The Vulpix was glad that the Aerodactyl had gone along with her idea rather than attempting something else, though she couldn't help but dislike the fake politeness in his voice, especially after the former conversation that they'd had.
Luckily Synd'r was well versed in keeping her expressions guarded when necessary, and so none of these thoughts showed on her face. Instead, when the Teddiursa spoke again Synd'r widened her eyes, acting shocked at the idea of outlaws being in the area. "W-what?" she replied meekly, her ears flattening a little as if to make her look even less threatening, almost scared by the idea of outlaws in the area. "I haven't heard about any outlaws.... are.. are you sure it's safe around here?" she asked, managing to make her voice tremble in such a way that it was surprising how convincingly afraid she sounded. Her gaze flicked between Pterra and the two newcomers, almost as if she were begging for someone to just confirm that the area really was safe and she wouldn't have anything to worry about.

| Pterra barely stopped himself from flashing a grin when the teddiursa mentioned the outlaw -probably him, if that other vulpix spread her tale around- and had to turn and cough to hide his laugh when Synd'r acted completely terrified at the idea.
"Oh, I'm sure it's all a rumour," he fake-assured the vulpix. He then let a confident grin spread over his face. "And even if it isn't, I'm sure I can take on any outlaw that comes by!" He struck an overdramatic pose, raising his wings and puffing out his chest.
"Well, I'd still be careful, if I were you," The teddiursa said, rolling his eyes.

| Synd'r had to mentally restrain herself from rolling her eyes at the Aerodactyl's reactions to their current situation. He wasn't the worst actor she had ever come across, but his arrogance made him more vulnerable to breaking character. The guy could certainly do with some more practice in the area.
Instead of giving into the urge however, the Vulpix managed to keep her expression to one of worry, glancing up at Pterra as if she wasn't entirely sure if he was really strong enough to protect them from the dreaded outlaw of Fallen Leaf Copse, or was just bluffing.
After a short moment, she looked back towards the explorers with wide brown eyes, "O-oh, wait. You said you were explorers right..?" she asked, her voice quiet but her tone perking up a little as Synd'r faked coming up with an idea that would make her feel safer. "Could you stay..? Just.. just until we get out of the forest?"
If they agreed, she and Pterra would have ample time to find an opportunity to steal whatever was valuable from the treasure bag the explorers carried. The only problem would be making sure that the Aerodactyl wouldn't break character...
