An Eggcellent Exploration

It had been a while since Brian had been to the Fallen Leaf Copse, the last time being when he met his soon to be teammates. While that was nice and fun, the energetic Chimchar had a need to explore further. The area was simply so beautiful and mysterious that there must have been more to see. Being the kind of Pokemon who wants to explore every part of an area before being truly satisfied, Brian couldn't allow these mysteries to remain. Walking into the autumn wood, he found himself admiring the mesmerizing landscape once again, taking a moment to simply appreciate the beauty surrounding him. However, he didn't stick to this trance for too long, as he was determined to explore the rest of the Copse. With this in his mind, Brian continued his walk, wondering what else he would find in this place.

Chiyako the Purrlion was wandering aimlessly through the forest in a bipedal fashion, looking daunted and serious. It was a strange mutation from her laid-back, coy personality; a traumatized state that the Purrlion was rarely found in. Heck, it was strange for her mood to venture past "deeply contemplative. She bit at her claws nervously while she slipped what appeared to be a folded-up piece of paper out of the hat she was wearing with the other. Just looking at it made her visibly choked up; her eyes alternated between scanning the page and fighting back tears. The Purrlion exasperatedly let the paw holding the paper drop to the side and heaved a big, shaky sigh. She had taken quite the toll over the past couple of days and it seemed as though she was reaching her absolute limit. This was the very reason why she had come to the forest in the first place; to meditate on the events and decide what to do next.

Meanwhile, a nearby bush began to rustle and shake as a red and green and black bug popped out, looking grumpy and looking slightly confused. Lennox the Venipede had been looking for Shadowhue Forest since leaving the Dream Tower, but.... well, it certainly didn't live up to the descriptions he had received. "Huh," he mused to himself, "I was thinking it would be... darker. Darker and less... colorful," he grunted to himself as he crawled forward on short, stumpy legs. He noticed a Purrlion nearby and was immediately unsure of what to do... he wasn't very good with tears. Especially not girl tears. The small bug shuffled around nervously; he wasn't sure what to do or how to approach her. He scuttled towards her awkwardly, but she didn't seem to notice. "....Uhhh, what do I do next.....?" Lennox wondered to himself with possibly the biggest derp face ever invented spread across his buggy face. He had little to no experience in expressing compassion or comfort; he was only good at acting on whims, really. Now that he HAD acted, however, he seemed completely clueless on what to do next.

Going through the autumn like forest, Brian found himself seeing several familiar sights from his last encounter. The beautiful, multi colored leaves on the trees, the shimmering waters of a nearby river, and the blazing sun shining on everything, making the whole place feel like a masterful painting. It was certainly a sight to behold, and the Chimchar hadn't even explored all there was to explore yet. While this place already looked so beautiful, there may be something even better if he went in further. Brian hadn't found that yet, but he find a bug type. He wasn't sure if it was wild or not, but that wouldn't stop him from talking to him.

"Um, hello? Hello over there. Are you a wild Pokemon?" Brian said bluntly, not making the smartest move, but not really caring. He wasn't the best with introductions, that's for sure.

In the midst of his awkward internal debating, Lennox suddenly came across the strangest urge/desire to pat the dark type feline on the shoulder. His split second impulse felt like the right thing to do, so he began to reach out... towards her foot. Lennox scowled. His shortness made this comforting thing a stupidly difficult feat. Why did everything have to be so tall!?! Now that his original gesture had been foiled, Lennox froze in his position, with one little stub leg outstretched towards the Purrloin's paw, and receded back into himself, trying to decide what to do next, when suddenly he was interrupted by a voice in the distance. It was some kind of... fire mankey thing; a species Lennox had encountered before. The fire guy seemed to be asking if he was a wild pokemon... unless he was talking to the Purrlion. Either way, Lennox answered anyways, "Nah. I stay pretty calm when I'm not mad. Oh, and don't worry; I'm not feral."

"I'm sorry?" Chiyako called, stunned out of her depressed state for a moment as a voice suddenly called in her direction out of nowhere. Her slightly puffy and bloodshot eyes looked wide awake for a moment due to the startling. She saw a Chimchar out in the distance, blending in very well with the fiery yet colorful landscape. She was surprised again to hear another voice at her feet, answering the question. A Venipede was standing where there hadn't been before, and he was apparently.... pointing at something maybe? Chiyako wasn't incredibly sure, it was just... such a random gesture.

"Oh, many pardons, were you talking to him? I'm sorry if that came off as terribly rude or uncalled for, I thought you were talking to me," she quickly called to the Chimchar apologetically. "Also," she continued, looking at the Venipede next, "are you... pointing to anything in particular?"

Lennox looked at the Purrlion like she was crazy for a moment, then looked at his outstretched leg and "I- err, what are you- ...I mean no," he grumped in slight embarrassment, putting his leg down without even trying to play it off. The Purrlion couldn't help but giggle at his flusteredness.

"Oh, that's good. Just wanted to know of the closest thing near me was gonna jump out an attack me. Saves time and energy from not having to punch you, ya know?" Brian said bluntly to the bug type as he came into view, revealing that there was a dark type cat there as well. It didn't seem to be wild either, and in fact apparently knew the bug type judging from the two of them being in this same area along with the talking he heard before probably coming from them. "Oh, don't worry about it. I didn't hear anything that sounded rude so there's no issue." He said, smiling innocently as he heard the two banter for a second afterwards, seeing the bug type get flustered for some reason. "So um, my name's Brian! What about you two? Got names?" The Chimchar said, smiling at his two potential companions.

The Venipede nodded at the fire monkey, who was clearly a pokemon with sense. "No worries, I would have done the same thing as you. Gotta scope out the fights before they happen, y'know?" Lennox agreed, "Although honestly I'd probably go for pumping my enemy full of toxic poison; saves me time and the heartbreak of realizing I don't have the limbs to punch people with." Lennox paused for a moment, realizing he had been clever for once, and grinned proudly as he puffed out his chest in celebration. "Hey Brian; name's Lennox."

Chiyako wiped the moisture from her puffy eyes and gave a half-grin at the Chimchar, then snorted at the Venipede's follow-up remark. Ah, how she did love a good bit of witty humor; she allowed herself to forget her turmoil for a while in order to be entertained by the other two pokemon's banter. "My name is Chiyako," she added after the Lennox introduced himself, "it's a pleasure to meet you both, Brian and Lennox."

"Yeah, exactly. If you're gonna fight then you gotta know who or what you're going to fight. Though I don't have any poison to inject into anyone, and I'd prefer punching anyway." Brian said, liking the poison type's perspective on the situation, being fairly similar to his. The dark type cat didn't say much in comparison to the poison type, but snorted at him for some reason. Maybe she had something against people with a sense of humor or something. "Nice to meet the both of you, Lennox and Chiyako. It's always nice meeting new friends! So, what are you two doing in this place. I'd understand if you're just here to look at the awesome scenery, but I'm curious if there's any other reason." Brian said, wondering why his new friends were there.
