An Eggcellent Expedition

Silverdawn slithered through the leaf litter strewn about the shaded forest floor. She had heard about special eggs being hidden among the dungeons, and that prizes were being given to those who found any eggs. Always the opportunistic pokemon, Silverdawn had headed straight for the nearest dungeon to search for the eggs. She always did like prizes; even if she couldn't personally use the prize, she could always sell it to the highest bidder. As Silverdawn entered the forest, she could feel tiredness already just from the journey over there, so she dug through her pack and ate a sitrus berry to restore her energy.

Also on the lookout for eggs, Blaze bounced along the forest path. Eggs, eggs, eggs, and eggs. What fun! Having heard there were prizes for finding the eggs, the Fennekin had rushed to Shadowhue to find some so she could get a prize or two. At the same time, this was really entertaining for the fire type. Since she was so wrapped up in her own thoughts, the scarf-wearing Fennekin didn't notice the Ekans slithering on the path near her.

Silverdawn halted as she heard something bounding towards her. She sniffed the air curiously, only to rear back in surprise as the pokemon collided with her, sending the snake pokemon sprawling backwards into a pile of leaves. "Psssssssssst!" She spat in annoyance. "Watch where you're going, you great lump of fur!" She hissed, glaring her blind eyes towards the pokemon that she quickly identified by scent as a fennekin.

Having not paid attention like the bubbly air-head she seemed to be, Blaze rolled backward. After hearing a remark from an Ekans she hand't noticed before. "Sorry......." The fire type apologized shamefully. Usually she didn't ram into people like this a lot, and it wasn't really her idea of "friendly". Sighing, Blaze stood up and righted her scarf so it was in the right position again. The Fennekin noticed the snake Pokemon she had run into was blind.... Was that a large problem?

Silverdawn sighed at the shameful apology from the fire-type in front of her. "It's... fine. Just, try and watch where you're going, huh? It's hard enough for me to keep track of where everything is without pokemon crashing into me," she said, rolling her sightless eyes. She sniffed the air again, making sure that the area around the two was clear of enemies as they talked. "What's a fire type like you doing in Shadowhue Forest, anyway? Hoping to train using the weak grass types?" She asked curiously.

Blaze blinked. "I might, but I'm here for the eggs. I heard you can get prizes for finding them." She said. The Fennekin hand't thought about training.... That was actually a good idea, considering she was still weak... When she had met Mercury, she had already been able to tell the oddly colored Fennekin was stronger than herself. What she needed to gain was strength. But how? Blaze was egg hunting, after all. She needed the eggs first.

Silverdawn hummed thoughtfully. "Huh. As it just so happens, I, too, am on a search for eggs. Prizes are always delightful to get, especially when you receive them for little effort on your part." She fixed a blank stare towards the fennekin. "Would you want to travel together to search for some eggs?" She offered.

"Sure!" Blaze smiled. After another quick look around, she discovered there was an egg nearby, half hidden by a bush. "Oh look! There's one!" The fire type grinned and bounced over to it, then proceeded to sniff the entire egg. "They seem to be pretty big....." The fire fox commented gleefully, but curiously. She had had no idea that the eggs would be so.......HUGE. Blaze had expected them to be smaller, and actually a legitimate egg size. Instead, she found an amazingly huge fiery colored egg. "It's so pretty, too......" The Fennekin said after a minute.

Energy: 25- 0 (Stamina Band) + 5 (trap) = 30

Silverdawn slithered over to the egg that the fennekin had indicated, running the tip of her tail over the egg curiously. She could feel small bumps and inconsistencies on the surface of the egg. But no amount of other senses could make up for her lack of sight. She sighed in sadness for a moment. She hadn't been born blind, and could remember how things used to look like. "I'll bet it looks beautiful," she said quietly, wishing that she could see it.

Blaze sighed. "I could try describing it so you get an idea...." The Fennekin said. "Well... to start, it's colors are white, orange, and red, and they're all in a sort of wave pattern around the circumference of the egg, and the pattern goes orange, white, red." She tried her best to describe the egg to the blind Ekans in the best way possible. Descriptions weren't Blaze's strong spot.... Oh, well. Hopefully the Ekans could picture what the fire type had said, and now could share the joy of the beautiful egg.

Silverdawn listened to the description of the egg and sighed. "Well, no point in wishing things were different than how they are. That's how the sorrow creeps in. We just have to keep looking forward into the future and being happy for what we do have, no?" she said. Then she heard a rustling of leaves, and pushed the fennekin out of the way just in time to avoid having a slakoth drop onto the fox pokemon's back.

"Gyah!" Blaze yelped. She had been pushed out of the way by Silverdawn as a Slakoth dropped from the forest canopy. "Where the hell did that even COME from?!" The Fennekin said, shocked. The fire fox frowned at the sloth Pokemon, and poked it, sure that it was too slow to attack. Blaze smirked. "This thing isn't fast enough to attack either of us!" She giggled. The Fennekin always saw Slakoths as slow, and unable to battle stronger and faster Pokemon. 'He hardly seems like a threat,' The fire fox thought, over-joyed. She bounced around the Slakoth, poking it two times, then jumped back, tail high in the air.

Silverdawn shook her head at the fennekin, who was now making fun of the self-same slakoth that had nearly cost the fox-like pokemon a concussion. "I'd be careful if I were you. Yeah it has that lazy ability or whatever, but it can still atta-" she broke off as the sloth jumped at Silverdawn with its claws stretched out. Silverdawn dodged to the side, just barely getting out of the way in time for the claws to just graze her side. "Like that," she said pointedly.

"Oop." Was all Blaze said. She fired an Ember at the Slakoth, giving it a burn. Or, at least she hoped she had given it a burn. The fire fox stepped back, aware that the Slakoth could attack her and Silverdawn now. She felt dumb at having thought that the Slakoth was too slow to attack them, because she had been wrong. The Fennekin circled around the Slakoth, eyes narrowed. Blaze needed a strategy of some kind....... Just a strategy.... She shook her head and tried keeping herself focused on the feral Pokemon, no more than that. The fire fox continued to circle the Slakoth, unsure of its next move. "These are more dangerous than I had thought....." Blaze remarked.

"Of course you can always do this," she said humorously, slamming her tail into the ground. The vibrations spread cracks in the ground and five boulders rose into the air and flew at the slakoth, four of them surrounding the slakoth and the last slamming down on top of the sloth pokemon, knocking it out successfully. "I did always like that move," Silverdawn hummed happily.
