» Personality: As an energetic young fire monkey, Ukki can be difficult to keep up with at times. This coupled with his knack for mischief makes him a nuisance to be reconed with. However, he always insures his pranks never go so far as to break the law or injure another pokemon. That’s just not how he rolls.
Most of his mischief is just for the sake of being noticed. It’s his way of testing whether he should respect you or not. If you yell and throw a tantrum, he’ll respect you little to none. Keep cool and calm and he’ll see you as the ‘leaderly’ type. However, ignoring him will just make him try harder.
Despite his somewhat annoying ways, Ukki is a very loyal, good hearted companion. He’ll fight tooth and nail to protect those he cares for, no matter how afraid he is of the current situation. If someone is down, he’ll do his best to cheer them up. To once again put them in high spirits.
» Likes:
Exploration: Nothing beats the rush of arriving at a place he’s never seen before. Along with the satisfaction of knowing he brought himself there.
Pranks: Ukki can be a cheeky little fire monkey, and enjoys having a little fun with other pokemon sometimes.Being a general nuisance his specialty.
Music: Ukki can often be heard humming, sometimes full out singing on his travels.
Rain: It’s a strange thing for a fire type to like anything water related, but the sound of rain has always soothed him. However, deep water is another story...
Spicy foods: Although sour foods are tasty, Ukki enjoys the burn and flavor of most spices.
» Dislikes:
Deep water: Though he’s never experience it, Ukki is terrified of drowning. He avoids deep bodies of water when ever he can, often going out of his way to do so.
Snooty Pokemon: He can’t stand folks that act all high and mighty when they’re anything but. They do make excellent prank targets, however...
Bugs: Not just bug types, but most bugs in general. Something about their legs gives him the creeps.
Ghosts: The thought of the supernatural has always given Ukki the heebie jeebies. They just seem so...unnatural.
Being alone: He can handle traveling on his own for a while, but being somewhere completely devoid of friendly life can start to grate at him after a while.
» History: Ukki’s life, in the beginning, wasn’t all that interesting, in his eyes at least. He grew up in a small village not too far off Grassville as the son of an explorer pair. Though the two weren’t world renowned, they were locally famous within the town itself, always working to help those whom needed it. Now this was all well and good, except for the fact that Ukki himself was always addressed as not himself, but the son of explorers.
The little chimchar would always try his very hardest to prove that he was something more than just that, often going out of his way to do something interesting or remarkable, but would only end up hearing something along the lines of, ‘You’re just like your folks when they were your age.’
Fed up with this, one day while his parents were out on a mission, he snuck his way to Pecha Forest. He was going to prove he could take on a dungeon all by himself, then they’d see.
Unfortunately for Ukki, this was easier said than done. While the pokemon there were weak, at the time, he was even weaker. A level 2 chimchar had no business being there without backup, something Ukki was forced to learn the hard way. As he made his way through the forest, he was jumped by a rather aggressive high level beedrill.
Ukki took the brunt of the damage due to his opponent’s superior speed. He stalled as much as he could, hoping maybe Blaze would kick in and give him the last burst of energy he needed to get outta there. However, even with his health dwindling, the ability had yet to activate.
As the beedrill finally closed in on the cornered and weakened chimchar, a strange instinct flooded Ukki’s mind. His left paw closed up into a fist, and when the bug got close, he swung with all his might. To his shock, as his fist made contact with the other pokemon’s face, his entire paw was coated in sparks. The beedrill fell to the ground, now fainted from a single powerful critical hit.
At that moment, Ukki discovered two things. One, he’d discovered his ability to use a move his father used all the time. Thunder Punch. Two, his ability wasn’t Blaze at all! It was Iron Fist, which also happened to be his father’s ability.
It was then that his parents rushed in, and after hugging him and giving him a stern talking to they’d decided that he was at the appropriate age to begin training. And so for the next few years they trained. He fought along side his parents through smaller time dungeons, doing all he could to make them proud. However, this didn’t change his reputation as merely the son of explorers, much to his frustration.
Recently, he’s decided it was time to leave the nest. So after sharing a hug or two with his family, he set out to finally make a name for himself. He was going to travel to the places most pokemon only dream of, and maybe even join a guild. Only time will tell if he succeeds in his goal.
