» Personality: Having been sheltered for most of his life, Arc is quiet and introverted. But as with many introverts, once you pass the awkward first meeting and befriend him, he’s kind and encouraging. Once he knows someone, he’ll try to share his knowledge whenever it seems appropriate, although he does fear that sometimes it may look like he’s showing off.
It is extremely difficult to get Arc angry; doing so would probably require some breach of his core values, such as someone being extremely inconsiderate and upsetting a friend. When he does get mad, his words are his main weapon, as although there is the natural urge to violent, he’s still not very strong and thus not very intimidating.
Finally, again once the ice is broken, he’s very loyal, but maybe to the point of naivety. That is to say, he could be a bit of a doormat, especially since he’s very empathetic.
» Likes: Arc very much enjoys reading; it was what he spent much of his time doing growing up. That, and being read to. He also enjoys riddles and other mental challenges.
As a result of being indoors for much of the time and thus never seeing too much, Arc now enjoys being outside, in almost any weather (except hail and heavy snow). Unless it’s too strenuous, he enjoys exploring places and discovering new things, which for him, are quite abundant. He heard about many things from books and stories, but seeing them is something else.
Arc is a big fan of green apples – red ones are good, too, but… not as good.
» Dislikes: Being somewhat feeble in physical strength and shy in general, Arc dislikes confrontations and fighting. As a Pokémon, he can still battle, but he’s quite clumsy at it and tries to avoid it whenever possible.
In relation to this, he dislikes overly bubbly personalities and frowns upon impatience and spontaneity, preferring things to be planned out. Additionally, Arc is somewhat uncomfortable when around strangers; the more abundant they are, the most uncomfortable he is. It’s not that he can’t function around them, but he becomes quite withdrawn. As such, Arc isn’t the biggest fan of social gatherings and would rather just meet with a few close friends.
As a dragon type, Arc doesn’t handle harsh cold very well.
Arc is allergic to Pecha Berries, getting a swollen tongue if he happens to eat one. It’s not fatal, but he becomes incoherent for a while.
» History: Arc was born to a well-off family and was the second youngest of four children. As it happened, he also appeared to be somewhat of a runt; he never reached the same level of physical strength as his siblings, including, eventually, the one younger than him. As time passed, Arc began to realize that he’d rather stay indoors than go out with his siblings and end up doing what they usually did; play fighting, chasing, and other sorts of similar activities which Arc didn't enjoy, as he always ended up last.
In this, as it happened, Arc took after his mother, a Haxorus, rather than his father, a Druddigon. Recognizing Arc’s personality, his mother spent more effort trying to educate him, shaping him into the intellectual Pokémon he’d later become. However, in spite of his difference from his brothers, all the same he reached an age at which his father decided it was time to send him out into the world.
And so, Arc decided to head to Grassveil and try to become a member of the guild there, hoping that it was a place where it wouldn’t matter that he wasn’t as strong as the rest, and that the things he learned could be of some use.
