Dark and Gloomy

Sova peered into the dark canyon before him, unable to see the bottom. Why were they doing this again? Oh, yes, because Mirage is a vampire. Of course they had to be passing by the Black Spear mountains when the complaints about the sunlight started. For some reason, the glaceon felt compelled to fix this problem his friend was having. The darkest place he knew of was the big bottomless hole in the mountain range; the Obsidian Crevice.

He kicked a rock down into the crevice and listened. While it quickly faded from vision, he could hear it bounce and roll down, deeper and deeper, until it got too far away to be audible. It didn't sound like it was intending to stop soon.... "Here's your darkness. Happy now?" He asked to the zorua as he took a careful step down the rather steep slope.

If he still had his old Anticipation ability, he would be risking falling just from the shivers.

Although Mirage would have rather beat the ever loving crap out of it, she took a seat and huffed in annoyance, "I'd rather kill this little sh*t," despite her speech, she sat down and attempted to cooperate with the glaceon. She huffed, her ears flat as she refrained herself from getting up close and tearing the charlatan to pieces by tooth and claw...when did she get this violent? She thought for a moment, the strange urge to tear the antagonist apart having come from seemingly nowhere. That was rather strange, it wasn't like the outlaw side of her disagreed, but the little sense of morality still remained intact and questioned the violent urge.

Mirage is going through the angsty teen stage.

The real questions hadn't even started and already the second "Mirage" to answer was seeming like the real one. "Alright, good to see you didn't just start fighting again...." He commented before falling silent to think of questions. What would really throw them off? Trick questions that most would answer differently than Mirage....

"What's your opinion of me, in detail?" He asked. This was a good time to get to know what Mirage thought of him a little better as well as a good question to stump the fake.

The copy sat idly by, waiting for Mirage to answer first in the hopes of countering her statement somehow. It wasn't like it had much to go off on this account anyways.

"That's not something that would tell you that i'm me from what I see," Mirage stated bluntly, a bit annoyed that the Glaceon would attempt to take advantage of the situation, "But if you insist you're one of the highly weird pokemon that don't see things the way they're supposed to be, a bit overly helpful and don't quite understand the meaning of an outlaw needing her independence."

She answered with things Sova would already know, in all honesty she didn't know what to think of him. He wasn't completely annoying, he wasn't dumb as bricks, but he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shack either, he wasn't the rudest pokemon ever, but he also was not the nicest, at least to others. She preferred to keep such things a secret, so instead she spoke of things the two had already spoken about in the past that the fake surly couldn't have known unless it had been following them for the past month or so.

After the real Mirage had answered, the fake responded, "You're my friend."  It hoped to pull at Sova's heart strings to win him over.

This had the opposite effect.  Two points to the real one.  But he decided not to tell either of them who was winning so far in the hopes it wouldn't change their answering patterns.  "Alright, next question...."  He thought for a moment.

"What's your favorite food out of everything I've got in my bag at the moment?"  He asked, knowing Mirage had been in his bag and would know he had a few Oran berries, Pecha berries, a Sitrus berry and for some odd reason a Watmel berry.  Why did he even have that last one?

"Oran Berry?"  The fake immediately questioned in confusion, not knowing Mirage had seen the contents of his bag.  It figured the best course of action would be to choose an item everyone has.

"You don't know my favorite food," Mirage huffed, "but it's the Pecha Berries," she added on with confidence at the uneasy sound in the fake's voice. "And you should totally give me some"
She looked over to the faker with a smug grin, "What's the matter? Heat getting to you? If you're going to try to be someone you should at least be good at it or you're going to fall flat on your face like you kinda are right now," The zorua gave a flick of her tail at her own comment. Her ears raised up, ready for either another question or for the word to resume the battle and attack the faker.

"Hmph. I'm sure Sova'll pick the right one." The copy insisted, feeling pressured. It didn't expect such difficult questions to be brought up and ruin its little game.

At this point, it was becoming fairly obvious to Sova which was the real Mirage, but he had to be absolutely sure. One more seemingly pointless question was all he would need.... "What's your name?"

"Mirage, duh!" The copy immediately stated, being able to through some means know Mirage's name. It seemed quite confident in its answer, certain it would win now.

"Foxy," Mirage stated on the spot, looking to Sova, expecting him to get the hint that she was giving him the alias she had used back at Fallen Leaf Copse. It was obvious that her name was Mirage, it would be pointless if she were to just state Mirage again. She just hoped he would not be stupid and think her answer legitimately meant that she thought her name was Foxy. She continued to stare at Sova, trying to get him to realize what she meant in the case he didn't know already. The area around them was still dark, her being able to see just fine, she wondered if the copy cat could see?

Sova smiled as both answers came in and almost immediately looked to the one who'd said their name was Mirage.  "I think youuuu're...."  He began as he approached the fake Mirage.

"Good to see you came to your se-"  It began, but was cut off as it was forced to avoid an Ice Beam.  "W-what are y-"  The phony was again cut off by having to avoid another Ice Beam.

"You really think you can turn me against Mirage?"  The glaceon commented.  No one could ever separate him from Mirage.

Mirage had almost thought that the Glaceon had gone insane, until he fired an icy beam directly at the fake. Yes! Sova wasn't a complete moron after all! She gave a dark smirk at the imposter, "You suck at this," she merely stated, before firing off another Dark Pulse at the enemy. She would have liked to go in close and give it something to think about for its failure, but she figured it was best to keep her distance and prevent the whole thing from having to be gone through again because Sova couldn't keep track of who was who. She was shrouded in dark energy, and a pulse emitted from it towards the opposing fiend, hoping to strike a decent blow.

Sova fired a few more Ice Beams on opposite sides of the fake Zorua, causing it to run back and forth, before releasing a Shadow Ball directly at it as it was tripped up from running back and forth. However, it backed away just enough for the Shadow Ball to collide with the Dark Pulse instead of either of them hitting it.

The phony zorua avoided all of the attacks surprisingly well, proceeding to give Mirage a dark and oddly hypnotic glare. It then darted in Mirage's direction, attempting to fake her out and cause her to flinch before tackling her and mixing the two up in Sova's eyes yet again.

Mirage was stuck in place, paralyzed by the strange move. She gave a yelp as she was tackled, the two tumbling about as she fought to throw off the fake. Instead, she was thrown off of it! She found herself being kicked into the air by the opponent's hindpaws, and landed harshly on the ground with a soft thud. Confused, Mirage shook her head, attempting to clear it from a daze, and looked to the fake, snarling once more and not realizing that the two had been mixed up yet again.

"Get off me!" The fake shouted as it knocked Mirage off it, appearing to have been the one who was attacked.  Sova was once again in the dark on who the fake Mirage was.  Worse yet, he'd run out of tricky questions....

"DAMNIT WHY!?"  The glaceon shouted in frustration.  The fake zorua seemed to be treating this as a game, what was wrong with it!?  This was so much worse than a straightforward fight.  A straightforward fight could be done and over with by now easily!

As the faker got to its feet it shouted to Sova, "Don't just stand there, help me kill this thing!"  It said, now more closely mimicking Mirage's rude personality that it had gotten plenty of time to learn about.  It was now mixed up with the real Mirage again, so it didn't just appear as if it had switched personalities in the middle of a conversation.

Mirage groaned in frustration as she listened to the Glaceon exclaim in his own frustration.
"Fuck it, I'll just kill it myself!" she snarled, rushing forth in order to attack the fake that had once again tangled them up in the glaceon's mind. She almost felt the pain of the times she had done this to passing travelers in Shadowhue, except she had been more successful at it than this mess of a scam. The zorua rushed forward, her claws glowing once more as she neared the opponent, attempting to scratch their face off and force them to reveal themselves, eating an Oran Berry from her bag before doing so due to a weak feeling.

The fake Mirage stood idly by and awaited the real one to close in on it, not doing anything to stop her approach.  As she neared, it quickly prepared and fired a Shadow Ball, figuring she couldn't possibly dodge at such close range.  It wasn't intending to severely hurt Mirage, just knock her away from it.

Sova simply watched as the two fought, knowing there was nothing he could do to stop it without knowing which one was the real one.  It was painful thinking that the real one may be the one to come out injured after every exchange of attacks.  Worse yet, there was no way to tell.

(Note for those stalking le thread: The fake zorua is the meowstic before this roll using Roleplay to copy Mirage's illusion and illusion itself into Mirage and the deino from earlier's roll is going to be included in a monster house that is going to be the police getting sick of Mirage and hunting her down.)

Mirage was struck with the Shadowball, but continued forward and attempted to slash at the fake Zorua. The shadowy ball struck her and sent her flying from the force of the attack. She landed on her side, but quickly got back up in attempt to attack once more. This time, however, there was a strange white feline in between her and the fake zorua. She had her hands on her hips and seemed to be glaring at the fake with a stern and angered expression...what was with this Meowstic?
