Dark and Gloomy

Sova peered into the dark canyon before him, unable to see the bottom. Why were they doing this again? Oh, yes, because Mirage is a vampire. Of course they had to be passing by the Black Spear mountains when the complaints about the sunlight started. For some reason, the glaceon felt compelled to fix this problem his friend was having. The darkest place he knew of was the big bottomless hole in the mountain range; the Obsidian Crevice.

He kicked a rock down into the crevice and listened. While it quickly faded from vision, he could hear it bounce and roll down, deeper and deeper, until it got too far away to be audible. It didn't sound like it was intending to stop soon.... "Here's your darkness. Happy now?" He asked to the zorua as he took a careful step down the rather steep slope.

If he still had his old Anticipation ability, he would be risking falling just from the shivers.

Sova remained silent for a moment, trying to process the fact that the zoroark had just "offered" to beat him senseless. All because she was convinced he was possessed. He didn't know what to say, the shock of such a suggestion had left him with no words. Mirage seemed so willing to attack him, while it would be painful for him to have to do something like that if it was the other way around. Did she care about him at all? As long as she respected his wishes to NOT be senselessly attacked, perhaps she did care.

After a bit of silence, he finally spoke up. "W-what!? N-no, no! There's nothing possessing me...." He hesitated to continue, having it made clear that he would need to explain in greater detail what was wrong with him.

"I KNOW what ever this is is a part of me.... It's not some ghost possessing me." He insisted, being unable to find the words to describe it. He thought there was some medical term to describe what was happening to him, but he couldn't recall the name of it. If only he could remember that. Then he could explain the situation to Mirage far more easily.

"Then I don't get it," Mirage spoke, sitting back down now that she knew she was not needed to beat the Glaceon senseless. However, she still had doubt. What if the spirit just made him say that, and he really wanted to say yes? Then again it was likely that he said no because he was too chicken to take a beating for his own good. The zoroark gave a huff, "If you're not sure of what it is then you should go see some kind of doctor. You're an explorer, they wouldn't shut you out or turn you in, it would be easy peasy, come up with some kind of excuse for how you "got away" from me though.

Sova sighed. This was the second time he'd been recommended to see a doctor. But he didn't need or want a doctor. That would mean he was too weak to handle his problems his self. It would also make him officially insane, if he wasn't already. Despite all of these stressing thoughts, one relief came to the glaceon's mind. Multiple Personality Disorder.

"Oh, I remember! It's something called....Multiple Personality Disorder. It's where someone basically becomes....uh....two someones. Like....in the same body." He paused as he was reminded of the suggestion for a doctor.

"I can't get medical help. The same way you can't let someone buy food for you." He attempted to explain, hoping to be able to make Mirage understand by relating to her.

"Yeah you can, I think it's called a psychologist? Psychic types are good at that sort of thing. As for it being similar to why others can't buy me food, it's not. You're an ice type, you don't abide by the same rules as I have to," she stated bluntly, "It's not like you'll die if you see one."

Mirage huffed, before deciding to survey their surroundings. They had gone back up the pit quite a bit, and now the area was no longer of pitch darkness. She wondered if it was time for them to leave, there seemed to be nothing of interest here, and she was growing rather tired of this dark setting. As much as she had been complaining about the light, Shadowhue was nothing compared to this kind of darkness.

Sova couldn't decide whether to just give up on talking altogether or snap at Mirage. Neither seemed like good options, yet they seemed like the only desirable options. "You don't accept help from others because you think it will make you weak. Believe it or not, we aren't all that different just because we're not the same type." He spoke calmly, somehow managing to keep up the conversation while keeping his cool.

It was then that the glaceon noticed he was getting way too stressed. Probably from a mix of lack of sleep and feeling like he was going insane, coupled with a zoroark who seemed incapable of understanding the situation. Either way, he needed to stay calm. The last thing he needed to do was chase Mirage off by taking his stress out on her.

"Hmph, Whatever, I'm an outlaw you're an explorer, you shouldn't be taking advice from me anyways, nor should I be even giving it," the zoroark concluded, "Now, I think i'd fancy leaving this place since it seems that its doing no good to us, you coming or staying?" she asked, standing up onto all four of her legs and preparing to leave. She looked to the glaceon, awaiting an answer. It was still dark, but she could see even better in it since when she was a zorua, she figured that it was due to her evolution.

Sova continued being gloomy until he heard something that lightened his mood a bit. His ears perked slightly as the zoroark offered for him to come with her. "Y....you don't just wanna get away from me? You'd actually still be willing to be my friend, even though there's....probably something really wrong with me?" He questioned, surprised, happy and relieved all at the same time.

Needless to say, he was more than willing to stand to his feet in preparation to follow Mirage. If she didn't want to just get away from him, there was no way he was going to sit and sulk while she left. Not only because he didn't want to get lost alone in this place, but also because.... There was something about her that was for some reason, appealing and calming.

Mirage blinked and looked at the glaceon, "Eh? Well its your choice whether or not to get help, and its not like you're going Zubat-sh*t insane and trying to claw out my throat."
She huffed, wondering why the glaceon had been so happy about this. She turned her head away and started walking," So, you coming or not?" she did not seem intent on stopping, forgetting that the Glaceon had probably sustained quite a bit of damage from the fight. However, if the glaceon decided to flop over and black out, she could easily carry him now that she was about four times bigger than him and able to stand on two legs. Her strange new hair could possibly help as well.

Without any hesitation, the glaceon hurried along beside Mirage. He stayed silent for a moment, trying to think of a way to show his gratitude. Though he didn't really know much about Mirage.... She never really said much about her self in conversations, or maybe there just wasn't much to be said. Either way, he wasn't sure what would be a good way to show his thanks. Then it hit him. "Soo....do you really like Pecha Berries?" He asked, opening his bag and looking back to the zoroark. "Want one?"

"Sure, I'll steal one," Mirage reached a paw into the bag without waiting for the Glaceon and took a pecha berry, the outlaw having the habit of stealing and not caring whether the one she stole from cared for it or not. She popped the berry in her jaws and crushed it within her mouth, the sweetness of the berry searching for any poison that might need curing, but found none. The poison-healing berry found itself used for pleasure rather than purpose, and was consumed. Mirage, being habitually rude, did not thank the glaceon. She saw no need to since she had technically taken the berry from him without waiting for his permission.

Sova rolled his eyes and allowed the zoroark to "steal" a berry from him. "Rood. Not like it's really stealing when, y'know, I offered." He informed, semi-oblivious to the fact that Mirage considered what she'd done to be stealing and "stole" from him without a second thought. She wasn't trying to take his necklace, so it really didn't matter. All other belongings were virtually worthless to him. Mirage was worth far more, at least. The only thing that he had to his name which he could argue otherwise for was the necklace....

"Really, if you ever need anything from me, you don't have to "steal" it or get it your self. I'm here for you, not for me, don't be shy." He offered his services to the zoroark in a rather joking manner.

"Imma steal it," she spoke bluntly, swallowing the berry. The zoroark looked up, she could see the edge of the crevice. It was still dark, but she could still see due to her dark typing. She wondered if the glaceon could see in the dark. She no longer had the Fury Swipes to assist him in seeing with their glow, in fact the move that had replaced them likely would have made it harder to see.
"We're almost there," she spoke, "in case you couldn't see"

Sova sighed, a bit disappointed that all of his efforts thus far to get the zoroark to accept his help were....less effective than he would have preferred. At least he could give her things though, even if she considered accepting them to be "stealing". He then noted the comment from Mirage on his ability to see. He hadn't noticed it, but actually, his eyes had adapted to the dark. He couldn't see well, but he could see well enough to tell if, for instance, there was a rock in front of him. It was enough to at least know where he was going.

"I can see....kinda." He commented. He could tell they were close to the exit, even the smallest bit of light being like a beacon to his eyes that were so entrained to the dark.

"We should be out of here soon," she huffed, unable to wait to return home to Shadowhue and curl up in her de-wait...she was too big to fit in her little cavern under a rock. She rolled her eyes in irritation, great, now she was going to have to find some other place to hide while she slept. Up in the trees was too obvious, maybe she could find a boulder or something, maybe some moss, to hide a cave like structure. Perhaps a hallowed log of a large tree? She would just have to wait and see what she found, when she returned home.

The distant light of the exit grew more and more prominent until Sova couldn't help but break into a dash for it. He'd been in the darkness for a while now, the light was like a foreign concept at this point. It was such a relief when he finally emerged from the hellish hole they'd decided to for some reason traverse. "FREEDOM!" He shouted, mostly as a joke even though there was some seriousness to it.
