| This thread contains random bursts of thingies I get the urge to write. Don't expect full stories on them, I usually lose interest in them again after the first chapter |D - The Primal Order:
"...Gai?" A small girl whispered.
"Yeah Urani?" The older boy responded in the same hushed tone.
"Why do the Ministers take people into The Temple?" she inquired, looking up to Gai with a quizzical expression.
A strained hiss of silence was ordered from a nearby adult, "Show some respect!" the adult whispered with a glare, "Street rats.." they spat before looking back down to the arena of the sandy stone stadium.
The audience of the spectacle were silent, as a man stood in the middle of the arena, facing a large door that connected to a large extravagant temple with intricate carvings along the outside. The temple was quite a work of art, towering over the people as if it were some supreme deity, guiding, protecting, watching, controlling, or even mockingly the lesser beings. At its foot near the entrance, four doors lay before it along the circular walls of the arena. Each door the same sandstone color of the arena, forming the pattern of a star if straight lines were made to each door, but each one bearing different designs vaguely representing the elements of Earth.
It was not long after the two children were hushed, that all doors but the entrance to the temple itself creaked open. Four elders stepped out from their chambers, each one dressed in white with differently colored trims, one red, one brown, one dark blue, and one light blue. The four elders surrounded the man in every way but the temple, before the ancient with the red trim spoke, "Itarr," a pause, "you have been selected for the heavenly service."
The brown trim, "You will be taken into the temple, what lies beyond there we cannot say."
The dark blue trim, "We give to you the chance to free yourself of your sins and go onward to a greater purpose."
The light blue trim, "If you accept, we shall enter the temple and the process shall begin."
In unison, "Do you accept?"
There was a pause, the man seemed to clench his hands once and release them a few times. Murmurs swept through the crowd, "Is he going to reject it?", "Who would be insane enough to turn this down?", "Is he some kind of idiot?" The murmurs began to grow and grow, "What would the gods think?", "Do you think they'll punish us all because of him?" until finally, a shout had to silence the panic growing from within the crowd.
"I accept!" Itarr shouted, silence growing over the crowd once more as they realized their childish mistake. The four ministers nodded, each of them smiling as they grew closer to the man. They all turned towards the temple entrance, all four of them holding a hand out towards the door and began to chant and chant until finally the door creaked open. The Ministers then entered the temple, escorting Itarr in the midst of them. Once they were inside, the door slammed shut, allowing nobody else entrance.
The audience broke into a cheer once the doors sealed themselves shut. Hugging and clapping others on the back ensued, as if they had all done some great achievement that they had originally thought was possible.
Gai turned to Urani once a majority of the audience had left, kneeling down with a smile as he was finally allowed to speak to answer her question, "They get sent to the temple so they can go be something better, they get to have a better life and serve the gods themselves."
"Oooh," she gasped with amazement, "I wanna go the temple one day too!" she cheered, jumping up to hug Gai, who struggled to hold up the girl that he was only just barely bigger than, "You'll go with me, right?"
"Bull shit," a man with a gruff stubble beard and a cigar bit between his teeth spoke while glaring down at the arena, "You don't want to go there, trust me." The man spat out the tabaco and stamped down on the burning plant harshly, grinding the flames against his foot and the floor harshly to suffocate the flame. His clothing was strange, obviously not from around here as he didn't have the clothes built for the desert lifestyle. His pants were not loose, his shirt's sleeves wrapped around his arms rather than being one blanket like cloth with a hood that one drapes over themselves to protect against the heat. His hairy arms seemed a bit sun burnt, and it was a surprise to the children that the hairs on his arms hadn't burst into flames yet.
Urani gave a squeak of fear of the muscular and gritty man and stopped attempting to cling to Gai to hide behind him instead. Gai huffed and glared at the man, "It's an HONOR to go to the temple! Only the Ministers and Tributes can go there, do you have any idea how difficult it is to be a tribute? You have to go through..." he paused, he didn't really know exactly what to do to become a tribute, "I-It's...It's really hard!"
The man blew some lingering smoke he had been holding in into Gai's face, "You're too young to understand. One day you will, and so will the rest of the fools of this village." He turned, speaking a few final words before departing, "Go back home to your parents and keep cattle-ing on."
Gai growled at the man as he left, only snapping out of his anger when he felt Urani's frightened grip on his hand. He turned to look at the frightened girl, and his face softened as he spoke, "Hey, forget about him, want to go see if old lady Ula threw out some leftovers?"
Urani beamed, and nodded, quickly taking off without warning before calling back to Gai, "Remember the first rule: If you wanna be friends with me, you gotta keep up!"
- The Beast Within (Contains Blood, Gore, and Swearing):
Dark as a moonless night was this place, where he had been feasting. Around him, were steel walls with various items from old rocking horses to a washing machine. The room was big, big enough for four-legged disease-carrying residential rats to live their lives in, only leaving to scavenge for their food. Today, they stayed in their nests as the large canine that had invaded their lair ate. His fur blended with the darkness, and his mane matched the blood that dripped from his jaws. A motionless lump of meat, unrecognizable it was, though, a human arm that was locked in his jaws suggested a slender girl of a young age, lay before him. The beast's large jaws released the arm, bored of his toy, as he made his was to one of the large steel walls. The wolf breathed in the sweet smell of the young human's blood, and released his breath onto the wall with a grin. Thump-thump. A heart beat. Thump-thump. On the other side of the room, he was not alone. The beast opened his jaws, "Did you enjoy my show?"
There was a muffled clap of a book closing as lights flickered to life around the beast in a shape of a star. A tall figure took a step forward, revealing a man to appear to be in his mid 30's to have been the cause of the noise and heartbeat. The beast believed him to be the father of the female, but his thoughts were soon pushed aside as if it had been so then the man would be bawling on the floor with grief. The figure spoke loudly and rapidly, "Evil, Devil, Diablo, Demon, Demonio, Soles, Moon, Darkness, God's Pet, Yang" the voice slowed as the grin faded from the beast. The figure once again opened the book he had been reading during the event with the girl and read aloud, "Known for his ability to change forms and rapid cell regeneration leaving it never die, this monster is to be avoided at all costs. If encountered, then run and hope-"
"I know my own abilities," the wolf growled, interrupting the figure, "Who are you? What is that book you carry?"
"My name is unimportant. The book however is a different story, for this book contains name, strengths AND weaknesses of every creature like you out in this Universe. What is really interesting, is that you are the only one that does not have such detailed information. All I said is all that's on there." The man looked up to see the wolf begin to change into a raptor from prehistorical Earth. "Now hold your horses there sir, you're thinking of doing to me what you did to the girl aren't you?" A glint from the monster's eyes said "yes."
The beast smirked, the heart had begun to pump faster. Thumpathumpathump. His movements were becoming quicker as well. Fear was consuming the prey.
"Now n-now don't be too hasty! I've come to make a deal with you!" The man stuttered. He flinched as the beast took a step forward, making him step back. The man slowly dipped his hand into his pocket and bringing out a slime like substance. The monster noticed this and darted forward, attempting to get to the man before he could do anything else. The man had tossed the slime into the star shaped pattern, causing it to glow as the flames from the candles around the room erupted into the air and wrapped around the beast. He was pulled and pinned to the floor, only able to flail in the flaming net and speak.
The man, who had fallen backwards, got up, "Trap Slap," he spoke, his voice wavering, he did not know if the spell would work in time. Now confident that the beast was unable to attack, he grinned and spoke, "My own invention! Now about that deal..."
"Rot in hell!"
"You see, I just don't think that this is the true you. I research psychology as a hobby, and everyone that acts cold, mean and heartless usually has a story behind it. You on the other hand, have no story. Bad to the bone since birth, which I don't even know when it was since I've even found cave drawings of you," The man ranted.
"Immortality is a wonderful thing" the monster gloated.
"Immortality is a burden," the man countered, "Beast of no true name, I've always wanted to meet you. You are an infamous celebrity in this universe, though official word of you has not yet reached my look alike brethren the humans. You plan to destroy them yes? Like you did all those other intelligent races....I plan to put a stop to your reign of terror, not by death though, as you cannot seem to be killed, but research. I have found one thing that can suppress your abilities, unlike this spell which seems to have limited time as it is wearing off." The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a cross like necklace.
The beast stared before bursting out with laughed, "Perhaps you have kept your nose in your studies too long. I am not a demon nor vampire, it will have no effect!" The beast scoffed, patiently waiting for the seal to break, so he could leap and snap at the man's neck, digging into the meal that stood before him-taunting him.
"Then perhaps you will let me put it on? As to prove it" the man suggested with a serious face that only made the monster cackle more. The monster did not even answer, only laughing at this "human's" foolishness. The man frowned and took a step forward, slipping the necklace onto the beast's neck. The laughs turned to screams of agony as the cross glowed and shimmered, the chain tightening around the monster's neck, choking him. The beast tried to claw at the necklace, but the seal still held him. The candles were snuffed out, as if even the flames feared the powers that were at work here. The light of the cross replaced the candlelight with even brighter lights, though it blinded the man.
The screaming continued for a few moments before it was abruptly cut off and the light ceased to exist, returning the darkness. The candles seemed to relight themselves, and light revealed a human boy of 16 years of age to lay on the floor, unconscious with a cross around his neck. The man sighed with relief, "Let's see how you fare without memories or abilities in the world of the humans.....kind of a shame to see the bane of over five thousand worlds be reduced to this by a mere charm." He picked the boy up and held him over his shoulder, his candles revealed the area to be a type of large garage. He looked to the pile of meat and thought, "Sorry, but-"
A chirp came from the pile that startled the man. He moved closer to it, hearing a twittering sound. He moved the pile with his shoe to reveal a sparrow under it. The sparrow looked up at him and chirped, before flying into the air and landing on the boy he carried's back. The sparrow looked at him curiously...causing the man to wonder just what had caused this bird to appear.
- Super RP RP Sample:
The moon was full and high in the sky as a man and a woman stared at security monitors of the grounds they were to guard. The woman with a brunette bun and slim build while the man held a more muscular body with sleek dark hair. The night had been just as dull as any night, staring at the dead halls of a warehouse. the woman snacked on some chips while gazing vacantly at the screens as they flickered occasionally while the man leaned back on the wheeled chair, bored out of their minds.
"They really need to get better cameras..." The woman spoke as multiple screens flickered at once, her speech slightly muffled by the food that she neglected to swallow before speaking.
"As if we would need them," the man spoke, sitting straight again on his chair to wake himself from slipping into sleep, "Who would break into a warehouse for shoes?"
"There could be one of those supers that found out about that gig going on tonight, why are we working under them anyways?" the female answered the man in a tired voice, finally swallowing.
"Hey, they kept that secret sealed tight and they're paying heavy for us to keep quiet about it too. It's not like they're going to hurt him anyways, its no doubt they'll obey the demands," the male replied.
"Yeah..." the woman looked to a screen on the far right, the only screen that did not have the same empty halls as the other various flickering screens. It was a person, a young boy, gagged, blindfolded, and tied to a cold metal chair. The boy seemed to be struggling against the bonds, but a few guards ceased his pointless struggle with a good chain of hissing vulgar language.
--
"Bleh...I really don't want to put up with this tonight..." a young brown haired man sighed as he scratched the back of his head, looking down on the warehouse from sitting upon the more uphill area nearby. A long black jacket that concealed his body and clothing but still being able to move about freely, "really should get a different jacket too...I probably look like some kind of flasher in this..." he spoke with disgust, examining his jacket a bit more to stall a bit longer.
'I guess I should stop fretting over clothing and get this over with...' he thought, not feeling quite rushed about the entire situation since the "trade off" wasn't to occur for another few hours. Nick grabbed a dark mask, pulling it over his head. He didn't quite have the flashiest of costumes, but at least it was effective in concealing his identity on the rare case he was seen. He was untraceable, once he reached an electronic connected to the main computer, all he had to do was get past the protection and he was in control. Although, the main problem was getting to the devices. Luckily, this place seemed to lack the intelligence to spread their security through the area and relied too much on their fancy technology that wasn't even up to date with the latest technology.
Nick stood up, nearing the front gates. A camera above shifted into life and turned to focus on him, a whirling sound emanating from it as it tried to zoom in on his concealed face. He only laughed, he wasn't stupid, he had done his research on this place. Their walls of defense technology wise was weak, so his plan would be done with ease. He could already imagine the look of surprise and suspicion of the security guards on the other side of the monitor, as he suddenly seemed to burst into a series of numbers and letters and flowed into the camera. The video feed as shut down and the hacking began.
It was was only slightly difficult, the firewalls only left him some minor burns that would probably hurt for while and a virus protected had unluckily deemed him as a virus and tried to delete him. He shut the two down with ease and began his work.
--
"Who's that?" the woman spoke, pointing at the screen of the front entrance. The man grunted in a curious tone and leaned closer to have a look, it was a man in a long black coat and a strange mask that kept his face from being seen easily. The man reached for the microphone that allowed him to speak through a PA in attempt to make contact with the suspicious stranger.
The man and woman were both surprised when the man suddenly burst into a strange sight and suddenly seemed to flow into the camera. The feed began to shut down, and the two began to panic, "It's a super!" the man growled, reaching to hit an emergency alert button. The man's fist reached over the woman and slammed down onto the big red button, a bit confused when he didn't hear the predicted sirens and flashing red lights. Instead of his expected chain reaction to hitting the button, all of the lights seemed to shut down in the room and monitors flicked off in a spiral pattern.
The two stared at the monitors in surprise before the woman began rushing to the doors, before she could reach it, there was a clicking sound as the electric door locked itself.
--
Power was a fun thing to have, especially when the human race is so dependent on electronics to do everything. Nick was quite enjoying this, like a cat playing with a mouse. The security system had little to no attention in protection, so it was easy to pass through. Only a few burns, that was all. He had swiftly shut down the cameras and locked guards in various rooms where they had idly sat to chatter the night away as if nothing was wrong.
Once the place was locked down from sending out alerts, he turned his attention to the cameras in the special room with the child. The various cameras turned and focused on the child and the guards. Nick could view the room from various angles, and even the ones outside as the child was guarded.
Nick reached out to the WiFi that connected this area to the internet, and connected it to a simple live stream site. It wouldn't be long, before people took notice of this strange live stream event.
--
The office was bustling with activity, secretaries filing reports, detectives going over evidence, and a counselor trying to console two parents in a hostage situation. The father was a business owner of a big company, and he had reported his son missing with a hostage's letter at his doorstep, "Bring the money, and he doesn't get hurt" it had said. A simple request, but one the father could not fulfill.
The police were all over, searching for any evidence of where the boy could be kept. During this hustle and bustle, a phone rang. An irritated secretary picked up the phone and answered as politely as she could, "Yes?"
The voice, which sounded to be a older female, "Uh yes, my daughter was watching this live stream site, and there's some strange images on it. It looks like a boy tied to a chair and he's guarded by men..." The concerned parent reported to the secretary.
"Ma'am, it's likely just a show," the secretary sighed, not wanting to deal with a false report when she could be doing more important business that could quite possibly save this kidnapped boy's life.
"Oh my god one of the older men just hit the boy!" the outraged woman yelled, "This can't be aired like this even if it is just a show, that's child abuse!"
"Ma'am I have no ability to control what's on TV, please don't use nine-one-one at times like this," the secretary spoke before hanging up the phone with a deep breath in attempt to control her rage. The lady sighed and returned to her computer, knowing that she would get into trouble if she didn't at least check it out.
It only took a few clicks and typing into the web searcher to find the live stream with a rapidly growing audience. She opened the stream and waited for it to connect and load. It was not long before she witnessed an exploding chatbox filled with "OMG", "WHAT IS GOING ON", "They're really good actors!", along with other spam. The video that showed the stream showed a boy tied to a chair, he was rather bloody and one camera was focused right on the small boy's face. The woman's eyes widened when she recognized the face the entire office was searching so desperately for.
"Over here! I found something big!"
--
'Over there, flashing red lights on camera 1337. Good. They must have traced the signal,' he thought as he began to withdraw himself from the internet. He took down the live stream, believing that the police didn't need any more pushes in the right direction. He had done his job, there was nothing left for him to do but hold down the fort and make sure nobody came in or out until the men in blue came in.
Now he could relax a bit, as long as nobody attacked the systems, he would be fine. If he were in reality he would have taken a deep breath, kicked back, and relax a little. All he could do was remain idle as he waited for the next course of action to be available.
'What? Why does left arm data look different?' he thought.
--
"What are you doing!?" the woman screeched as the man hurled a fire-ax into the security equipment. Sparks flew from cables as the sharp edge smashed the metal and cut the cords.
The seemingly crazed man ignored her, instead shouting, "LET. US. OUT!"
The monitors flickered back to life and the door unlocked at last. The man looks at the monitors, they flickered like crazy, switching to static and reviving themselves as they tried to function properly but failed due to damage. The monitor that showed the front gate flicked on long enough to show a man in a black coat fleeing the property and clutching his red left arm with a strange claw like object.
--
"In other news, a boy of the corporation we all know and love has been found and rescued from a hostage situation. The police stood off with the criminals until finally a shot was fired and a shootout occurred. The police were able to capture the criminals with a tally of five minor injuries, four fatal, and zero deaths. Those fatally injured officers are in the hospital and being treated as we speak. The child is safe at home with minor injuries, all thanks to our fellow officers. When we come back: Are puppies bad for your health? See you next time with news in the morning."
The TV clicked off as Nick hit the power button, 'Looks like they haven't released the event of the live stream to the media yet, its probably exploding in rumors on the internet.'
Nick was sitting on his couch in a rickety apartment the man yawned and examined his arm, it had a deep cut that he had managed to treat with his pointy clawed other arm. The bandage now covered it and it had been treated accordingly, his mechanical arm managed to avoid cutting further into his skin. It was probably going to take a while for his wound to heal, since he didn't have any magical healing powers like some supers had.
'I wonder if i'll become some kind of internet celebrity for doing that live stream,' he wondered with a laugh, finding the idea to be rather amusing. He had been doing justice's bidding for a while now, but not often, once a week or so. There weren't many cases he could actually help with, like super villains. He wasn't dumb enough to go up against something he couldn't fight hand to hand. His power may have been great, but it wasn't strong. It wasn't like he would be able to fight properly, what was he going to do, choke them with a mouse cord?
He took a deep breath and laid back on his couch before his stomach growled, "I should go get something to eat..." he was silent for a moment before reaching for the phone, "Eh, i'll just order some pizza..."
