| - Link to mission:
(Energy - 11) The Black Spear mountains looked menacing as expected. The cloud cover was thicker than usual, showing signs of a possible storm to come. That certainly didn't help with the overall menacing image portrayed. Who would ever want to venture to this place? Sova, having had a bad experience in this area in the past, didn't fancy coming back. But if he stayed away, that would make him a coward. That was something he just couldn't handle being. Besides, he had a mission to do and he wouldn't have to go all the way to Black Mist Mountain. And there was a torchick with him, since it was an escort mission, so it wasn't really lonely. Though he was pretty sure the torchick wouldn't be a very capable fighter. At least the mission seemed easy. Find Staraptor and get her to stay and chat.

| Sova didn't know yet, but despite his illness William had once again found himself forced to visit the Black Spear Mountain Range. Well, not neccessarily this place but it was the area Sova had decided to visit and William still was quite sure that leaving Sova to do something like this on his own would be a bad idea. And since he had no intention to once again make the Eevee believe that he didn't trust him so Sova would try even more dangerous things, he was now silently stalking the Normal type instead, only around to save him from the most dire of predicaments to discourage him from visiting places like this one while still lacking sufficient training. And then finally William would be able to get some rest and finally try and overcome his illness. All this exploring wasn't doing him any good...

| Just walking was getting boring, so Sova decided to try and start a chat with the torchick he was escorting. "So, what is it about this staraptor that you're so interested in?" He asked.
"Well, she's famous where I come from!" The torchick replied.
"Famous for what?" Sova continued.
The torchick thought for a moment, seeming unsure of himself. "Uh....for being famous, I guess."
Famous for being famous? Sova wondered if that was even possible. Maybe the torchick just didn't actually know much about its "idol", or maybe the staraptor really was famous for nothing in particular. Either way, he didn't plan to criticize. His job wasn't to judge the mission, just to do it.
"Well then, I guess when we find her I'll ask how she managed that." The eevee joked.

| So Sova was attempting an escort now. This situation was even worse than previously thought. If he had just traveled here for a normal mission, then he could have gotten himself hurt and that was it. But with an escort he could very well be leading the two of them into grave danger, bringing an innocent client into great peril. Now William knew that it had been the correct choice to follow the Eevee around. Once the trouble would inevitably appear, the Evolution Pokémon would hopefully acknowledge the danger he had brought not only himself into. In fact...this gave William an idea. Maybe he could hire a more powerful explorer as an actor who would pretend to be in need of an escort and then get Sova and themselves into trouble to show Sove how irresposible he was being. For now just following the Eevee and his target would have to do though. | |

| Taking note of the dark sky, Sova picked up his pace a bit as they ventured into the mountainous terrain. He didn't want to be caught in the Black Spear Mountains in a storm. He didn't move too fast for fear the torchick would have trouble keeping up. But if it started raining, the fire type he was escorting probably wouldn't be very happy. What a fantastic day this was shaping up to be.
He was hoping he would get at least one battle. He wanted to test his new move, which he'd gotten from a TM. If he was going to win his rematch with William, he'd have to get used to this move. But for now he'd just focus on the mission at hand.
"So, any idea where in specific the staraptor may be?" He asked.
"Not really. She'll probably be high up if that helps." The torchick replied.
The only high up places in the area were of course the mountains. It seemed they wouldn't be able to take the easy route through the valleys, if the staraptor was high up. "I guess we'll just go for the highest mountains then. That's probably our best chance." Sova suggested. The torchick nodded. Now at least they had a general idea of where to go. That was necessary if they wanted to get out before the storm.

| High up. That wasn't good. If the duo were to venture upwards they'd most likely look towards the sky quite often, making William's plan to hide above in the dark clouds rather useless. He'd have to remain hidden some other way. Hiding underground would be a viable option, but he could bump into digging Pokémon by accident, almost inevitably causing a battle. At least the Gengar could use his levitation and matter-phasing to his advantage. Without them he would doubtlessly have been discovered already long ago. And even though William would most likely have to make himself known to save the Eevee's brown-furred behind he'd rather wait with this reveal until there really was some danger present so the Eevee's relief about being saved would outweigh the frustration of having needed to be saved and of William not having believed for him to be up for the task. - Savato carried out 10 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

| Finally reaching the base of the highest mountain in the area, Sova didn't hesitate to begin the journey up. None of the mountains were as big as Black Mist Mountain, at least, and he'd gotten used to the terrain already. The torchick also seemed to know its way around at least climbing the mountains, probably from chasing the staraptor around.
About a third of the way up the mountain, he came across some pokemon. They seemed to be just playing tag or something of the sort, harmless. Two skiddos and a noibat. He decided to see if they could help at all. After all, they probably lived here, so they would know if a staraptor had gone by recently. "Hey, you three! I'm looking for someone, can you point me in the right way?"
The three pokemon stopped what they were doing and looked at him. One of the skiddos hesitantly answered. "Uuh...." Before it could get any further, however, it was cut off by a screech, followed by a noivern diving down from the sky. Sova noticed it was heading straight for him and backed up just in time to narrowly avoid it. It gestured for the three much less hostile pokemon to back away, prompting them to run away, out of view.
"Run. Stay where you can see me and come out when I'm done." Sova said to the torchick. It nodded and ran off down the mountain. The noivern attempted to give chase, only to be cut off by Sova. "Lets just talk this out, I'm guessing this is your territory and you were watching those kids. I'm just passing through and was looking for directions, leave me be and I'll be out of here as fast as I can be." He attempted to persuade the bat not to fight.
The noivern replied with a growl. "Leave." The oh-so-talkative noivern replied.
"I can't yet, I'm on a mission. But I'll leave soon and without any trouble." Sova insisted. The noivern seemed to get into a battle stance and screeched again. Then the eevee heard hoofsteps coming at him fast. His Anticipation warned him of the impending fighting-type attack coming at him as well. He looked to his left in the direction of the sounds to see a charging gogoat. Instead of just avoiding though, he Detected the Brick Break and dashed between the foe's legs just as the goat lifted a hoof to....karate chop him. How does that even work? How does someone chop with a hoof?
Clearly he was going to have to fight. But these were two dangerous enemies and he was alone....as far as he knew. Oh what fun.

| And...it just had to come to something like this. It was completely inevitable for Sova to get himself into trouble. William was already tensing up involuntarily in anticipation of the battle. But he shouldn't intervene just yet. If he were to do so right now, the Eevee would still be able to claim to have had the situation under control. And who knew? Maybe he still had. The Poison type would have to restrain himself to intervene only in the most dire of situations, as cringe-inducing as having to watch Sova oppose these Pokémon might be. The Gengar's mind was already showing him all the things that could possibly go wrong and was making it quite difficult to just sit there and remain hidden, not even allowing a single surprised gasp out of fear of giving away his position. Sova would have to manage... - Savato carried out 10 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

| (And so Savato has invited every resident of the Black Spear Mountains to join the party)
"Welp, I can't just ditch my client and you aren't gonna let me pass....so I guess we fight." Sova said with a sigh. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to win this battle, but he was sure he could manage. The noivern made the first move. With one swift flap of its wings, it created a spiral of air which traveled quickly in Sova's direction. Quick Attack plus his small size made it easy to dodge, but put him right in the path of the gogoat, which was charging right at him with Horn Leech.
If he let the enemies keep forcing him to dodge around, he would inevitably get hit, then he'd get hit again, and again. He decided it would be best to fight and intercepted the gogoat before it could reach him with Swift. It slowed the stampeding gogoat enough for him to aim a Shadow Ball. It was enough to knock the enemy back and onto the ground, just as he felt a shockwave knock him off his feet and onto the ground. He looked over to the noivern to see its mouth glowing an eerie purple, right before it fired another Dragon Pulse. This time he detected and leaped over the pulse. Giving the enemy no time to attempt the attack again, he used Quick Attack to get into close range of it, attacking with Swift the whole time to keep it at bay.
Just as he reached the bat, it flapped its wings and sent another swirling column of air at him. This time he was too close to dodge and was lifted off his feet and thrown back into the air. His Anticipation warned him of the gogoat charging at him with Brick Break, but spiraling in mid air made it difficult to try and dodge. The hoof hitting his side was followed by a lovely greeting from the ground. These two pokemon were much better at strategic fighting than most enemies he'd seen....
He got up as quickly as he could with the pain from the recent attacks making it difficult to move quickly. He would definitely need a strategy to win this fight. Maybe he couldn't win it even with a strategy.

| This would be getting interesting. The Eevee was doing better than William had anticipated, but still he would have to step it up quite a bit if he hoped to be able to defeat these enemies. Not only were there Pokémon capable of Flight around, but also quite a few Pokémon capable of using Fighting type moves, which should prove to be quite a threat to the Normal-typed Eevee. Maybe Sova would do the smart thing and try to flee even. While it would be the best idea in William's mind he still hoped the Eevee would not try it. Otherwise he would have to follow and that would make it quite a chase through the spiky mountains... - Savato carried out 3 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

| Before Sova could even think of a plan, he noticed another noivern coming down from the sky out of the corner of his eye. Another gogoat was approaching from the same direction the first one came from as well. It was then that he realized why he was being attacked. Two gogoats and two noiverns....it was their children he'd tried to talk to and they took it as him attacking. He was probably invading their territory as well.
Upon seeing there were now double the enemies to handle, he Quick Attacked away, out of their immediate range. To any bystanders, it probably appeared as if he was running. Then he stopped and began rummaging through his bag. Not having much time, he pulled out two seeds and an Oran berry. He ate the Oran berry and one of the two seeds, which was a Quick Seed, but saved the other one. It was a Stun seed, which he'd need in order to temporarily lower the enemies to 3.
He waited for the enemies to come to him, the first one to attack being a gogoat. It attempted to ram him with its horns, which were glowing green. He'd never seen the move Horn Leech before, but he knew immediately what it was. The wounded enemy wanted to heal its self. Sadly for the goat, he was far too fast for a direct attack like that to work, what with Quick Attack and the Quick seed. He simply stepped to the side and darted right past it. Before it could even figure out where he went, he had jumped into one of the Noiverns' chest, knocking it to the ground. It opened its mouth in preparation for Dragon Pulse, letting him easily drop the Stun seed from his mouth into the enemy's. It almost instantly stopped moving.
Now he just had to handle the other three before that one could move again.

| More and more Pokémon were approaching Sova, most likely not with friendly intentions in mind. Now it seemed to only be a question of time when William would have to intervene, not whether he would have to. Sova definitely was in quite the predicament now. Things weren't looking well and William was wondering why he hadn't tried running yet. Even a hothead like Sova would have to admit that he was not only horribly outnumbered, but also at a typological disadvantage. For how much longer would he remain fighting? This sort of thing couldn't keep up for much longer. Or so William hoped. His legs were starting to feel tingly from having to hide in an uncomfortable position for so long. - Savato carried out 1 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

| Sova's mind raced as he tried to find a solution to the situation he'd gotten himself into. He hadn't felt this pressured in....ever. He'd never been alone versus four formidable enemies. He knew he could easily run away with his massive spike in speed, but he just couldn't run. He had to find a way to win. There had to be some way to win. He had no useful items and no super effective moves though....
Well, at least he, for the moment, had a colossal speed advantage. If he kept on his toes, the enemies definitely wouldn't be able to hit him or even keep track of him. He could lure them into attacking him and get them to hit each other with relative safety this way. Now he had a speed advantage AND a plan.
The two gogoats began circling around him instead of immediately attacking. They didn't seem to be planning on charging at him any more. They were probably trying to keep him where he was....he was proven right as the non-paralyzed noivern swooped down at him, its wings seemingly surrounded by air. He backed up slightly to avoid the first slash, which seemed to cut the air its self in half in front of him, for just a moment. The enemy kept up with the Air Slash, backing him closer and closer to the gogoats circling around the area. It seemed all hope was lost, that he'd be backed into a corner. They had laid an excellent trap.
Sadly for them, it wasn't good enough. He waited until one of the gogoats had just began a charge at him to Quick Attack behind the noivern. Before any of them had realized what happened, he used the blinding speed of both a Quick seed and Quick Attack to leap into the noivern from behind and knock it into the charging goat, knocking both enemies to the ground for the moment. As the second gogoat charged for him as well, he discharged a combination of Swift and Shadow Ball at it, knocking it off balance. He followed the attack up with Quick Attack, knocking it back and onto the ground. He could definitely win this fight. The enemies were weakened....all but one. The noivern he had paralyzed. He had completely forgotten about it.
The noivern was just getting over the paralysis, struggling to stand. His quick seed was beginning to wear off, he'd have to hurry and knock it out before the other enemies got up and he was forced back into a four versus one. Then something unexpected happened.
Just as he reached the barely standing bat, it swooped into the sky and began producing an ear-piercing sound. Like a mix between a very loud screech and nails on a chalk board. He could actually see the sound waves emanating from it. The sound stopped him in his tracks, making it difficult to focus, let alone move. Then it seemed as if the air around him exploded. At least it sounded like an explosion. Very visible sound waves covered the entire area, knocking him a good few meters back and onto the ground. As he struggled to stand, he noticed the three other enemies were also a good distance away, out cold. This noivern was willing to hurt its own allies to win the fight....
Then it screeched before charging at him. At least, it looked like it screeched. The poor eevee couldn't hear it. It was then that he began to notice he couldn't hear anything. This panicked him to the point of completely forgetting the enemy was there. Just long enough to get slapped in the face with its Air Slash and knocked back onto the ground yet again. He couldn't even hear himself hit the ground, but he could still feel it. At least he hadn't lost ALL his senses. But how would he possibly be able to fight any more? His hearing seemed to be malfunctioning and his Quick seed had worn off. He struggled to stand and considered just running. But for some reason, he faced the enemy. It had just taken its own allies out, surely he could fight one lone enemy.

| Now this was surprising. Sova seemed to have found himself a plan and actually was doing quite well in combat, taking care of several enemies. Maybe, just maybe William had been wrong and the Eevee was indeed capable of taking care of himself. And that meant that-... William cringed involuntarily as a sound rather horrible reached his spectral ghastly ears. Sova seemed to have been hit much worse by this attack than he was however. What could have been Sova's victory was now looking quite like an execution. But not everything was lost just yet. The Eevee had surprised William once already. Maybe he would be capable of doing so a second time as well. William shuddered as he imagined in how much trouble Sova would be now, had he not decided to follow him around. - Savato carried out 2 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

| Sova backed a few steps away from the noivern to give himself a moment to think. It must have been Boomburst that he'd just witnessed. It certainly hurt, but it seemed to have hurt his ears more than the rest of his body. At least he still felt like he could fight. Though not being able to hear would probably be somewhat of a problem....
He couldn't get in close range or he'd just be an easy target for another Boomburst. Instead, he focused on pelting the bat with a constant Swift from a distance. It at least seemed to be keeping the enemy at bay for the time being, but it probably wouldn't KO it any time soon. In fact, the enemy could probably just charge right through the attack into close range, but then he'd have a clear shot with Shadow Ball.
Instead, the noivern attempted to use a long range attack of its own, summoning another of the familiar columns of wind with a flap of its wings. The last time Hurricane hit him, he had an absolutely FANTASTIC time....that wasn't going to happen again. With the help of Detect, he rolled to the side to avoid the attack and used the opening the enemy had given him to Quick Attack into range. Perhaps he could knock it out quickly with a headshot from Shadow Ball, if he could get close enough. Sadly, the bat flapped its wings and lifted its self high into the air, out of the reach of his quick attack and any precision aiming.
This was actually beneficial to the eevee, but it made the battle a lot longer than it needed to be....and very boring. From such a distance, the noivern had no hope of hitting him with its long ranged attack, Hurricane, but Sova's swift couldn't miss even from long range. After a bit of easily avoiding the very distanced Hurricanes and chipping away at the bat with Swift, it finally flew off. Apparently it knew it wasn't going to win the ranged battle and didn't want to risk getting closer, so it just gave up.
