| Subject: [FAQ] Frequently Asked Questions Tue May 27, 2014 10:10 am | |
| Here are some frequently asked questions that are listed based on what they are about. To see if your question is here, open the spoiler that matches its topic. This has been created to save time on both party's sides, who knows, your question could be here! - Beginning the Roleplay, Outside of Character:
Q: Why haven't I gotten my poke? A: If you haven't read the rules then you will not receive your poke. If you're certain you've read the rules and still haven't gotten it, then either the admins haven't gotten to it yet or you haven't read them close enough. Poke claims are cleared out every month, so if you get cleared without receiving your poke, you may want to check the rules again.
Q: Why isn't my character being accepted? A: If an admin/secretary has not posted on your character, then it means they have yet to look it over. If they have, and you've made the edits since then, post stating that you have made the edits. The Secretaries are not responsible for checking to see if you have edited the character and you must notify them by posting on the thread with your character stating that you have done so.
Q: My character has been accepted...now what? A: You can roleplay! It is suggested you either find someone on the chatbox, character discussion thread, or just post a topic that states "OPEN" in the title, meaning it is available for anyone to join. Getting a roleplay partner may require a bit of patience, but most of the time there's at least one person looking for a roleplay!
- Characters:
Q: Can my character's history involve a legendary pokemon? A: Your character can mention a legendary as part of their beliefs and such, but there can't have been an actual physical legendary in your history.
Q: Can my character have X disability but twisted in X way? A: No, if your character is going to have some kind of disability or illness, then they must be portrayed like the real one. There also cannot be a "Disability" done in a specific way to make your characters special, or to be turned into ability, for example being able to see aura of another pokemon when they're not a lucario/riolu.
Q: I want my character to have X illness/disability, but am unsure of how to interpret it, can they have it anyways? A: You are trusted to interpret it correctly, or risk offending someone who may have a loved one with it. If you do not feel that you can do it then keep the exact disability/illness vague and unspecified. Always be sure to research what you roleplay.
Q: I want my character to be previously a human, be a pokemon of a trainer, or a real character from a real series brought to here by some strange powers! A: No, this will not be accepted. Humans do not exist in this realm and you may not be real character turned into a pokemon. End of story.
Q: Can my character be a pokemon that doesn't exist, have a move that doesn't exist, or have an ability that doesn't exist in-game?? A: No. We do not accept fakemon statistics and creations-only the pokemon canon.
Q: What items can my pokemon have with them when they begin? A: Your pokemon cannot have any items that affect their status, such as Joy Ribbons, Pecha Scarves, or any item made up that affects them in someway. They can bring accessories and other such trinkets that do not have any real impact on anything if they life-but be sure to keep it reasonable. No special magic lockets or anything of the sorts will be permitted.
Q: Can my character have Dissociative Identity Disorder and his other half is a dark evil killer that wants to destroy everything? A: Please conduct proper research before you go about doing such topics. Also keep in mind that consequences will not be overlooked if your character is a guild member and their alternate happens to do something highly illegal.
Q: Why are outlaws banned as first characters? A: Outlaws were repeatedly being created in the exact same way, bad to the bone for seemingly no reason at all other than they felt like it. People then became stuck because nobody could get a solid roleplay going due to their characters nature and no system has been created for the outlaws yet. Outlaws were banned as first characters to prevent players from getting stuck and allow them some time to think more about the character and flesh them out more.
Q: Can my pokemon have this move learned at level X instead of an Egg move since it can technically be bred onto that pokemon? A: No, it has to be an Egg move it can learn from another pokemon being its ancestry. The only exception is Magikarp due to its only attack being Splash.
- About Pokemon:
Q: Can Ralts sense the emotions of dark types? A: Full dark type pokemon cannot be sensed at all, while pokemon that are primarily dark but have a second type, such as Sneasel, can be sensed but only when emotions are extremely strong. Pokemon that have a little bit of dark typing can be sensed slightly easier than the primary, but are still somewhat immune.
Q: Why is Zorua banned? A: People who created characters with this species in the past have abused it too often to be allowed to continue. Zorua were being made to fly and breathe underwater when their ability is only to make illusions, and not physically transform like a ditto.
Q: Why is Wailmer banned? A: Wailmer's evolution, Wailord, is unusable for roleplaying with its large size and inability to move on land or in certain places. They would be restricted to only one or two dungeons, and thus are not allowed to save regrets.
Q: Why are some pokemon temporarily banned? What determines when they become unbanned? A: Temporarily banning pokemon is there to encourage diversity so there wont be 30 Riolus and 50 Eevee running around the place. Pokemon are banned once there have been 7 characters of them made, and will be unbanned under certain occasions. Those occasions involve one of the creators killing off that pokemon, there is a total of 20 banned pokemon and the ban limit raises, or an inactive account has reached a year old and has been deleted along with the character of that species.
Q: What pokemon can go into Coral Forest/Hidden Abyss? A: Coral Forest and Hidden Abyss are strictly water type dungeons. Only water types and pokemon proven to live underwater may go there, Castform, Ditto, Porygon or anything not naturally a Water type cannot go there as well, unless it's proven that they live underwater.
Q: What pokemon can go into Aileron Village/Sky Pyramid? A: Similar to the water dungeons, these two are the same but with flying and levitating pokemon. If it has wings, it can go here. If it has levitate, it can go here. If it can participate in sky battles, it can go here. Yes this means Gyarados can go there. Pokemon can also be ferried up there, so really any pokemon that can reasonably get up there. Pokemon like Onix might find difficulties in this area.
Q: Can Ghost Types go through walls? A: Only priority ghost type pokemon are able to go through walls, a Honedge is priority steel, so it would not be able to pass through walls.
Q: Are Ghost Types actual undead and can possess objects/been alive since beginning of time? A: Ghost types must have been born from an egg, no being alive for thousands upon thousands of years. A reincarnation system may be planned for the future, but as for now please stick to eggs.
Q: Can my psychic type communicate through telepathy? A: Unless it has the ability telepathy it cannot actually talk to others through telepathy.
- About the Site:
Q: What does "/shot" mean? A: /shot is another version of "JK" meaning the person who typed it is joking. It was found to be more comedic to imagine the person being shot or slammed in the face with a brick instead of just saying "JK".
Q: What does "|D" mean? A: "|D" is an emoticon that means that the comment made with that emoticon isn't to be taken seriously, basically another form of "JK"
Q: What does the "@" symbol in front of certain names in the chatbox mean? A: The "@" symbol means they have moderation abilities of the chatbox, they can kick or ban anyone they find to be breaking a rule.
