The Princess and the Researcher. Black Spear Residents?

Akuroma sat in the main room of his cabin within the Black Spear Mountain Range. He was writing on the now-completed cabin and about how he'd begin his studies on the surrounding area soon. As he finished the paper he looked around and sighed. The peace and quiet that normally accompanied his days now was appreciated, but it was getting to the point of being too quiet. He hoped that once his studies were done in the surrounding area he'd pick a more lively area to live. Perhaps he'd study the forests surrounding Grassveil? He shrugged the thought away. It'd be best to focus on his studies here instead of those in the future.

Victoria struggled with the skiddo she was battling, the vines around her jaws prevented her from using her family's signature move, and she couldn't quite tackle it or do much with it keeping her at a distance. The skiddo gave a sly grin as it managed to raise her heavy body into the air and prepared to slam her into the ground like the other skiddo, Victoria then realized that this was the perfect opportunity to use a newly obtained move! She managed to twist herself so the skiddo would slam her on her feet, and as her feet smashed into the ground, the earth began to shake and cracks erupted from the ground near her and began to spread toward each Skiddo and Akuroma.

As the resulting explosions from the blast seeds smashing into the Skiddo' faces only added to the Earthquake's destructive power, Akuroma found himself unable to stand straight. Falling to his knees, the Kirlia tried to steady himself as best he could to try and focus on teleporting, but found the shaking earth to be too distracting. The Kirlia grabbed a hold of the edge of the crack as he fell into it. "Victoria!" he said as he tried to pull himself up over the edge.

"What?" the tyrunt shouted, sightly irritated, as she turned to face him, noticing him trying to climb out of a crack she had created. She was about to burst with laughter, but her plan backfired as the skiddo that had been holding her fell into a crack and began to drag her with it. The tyrunt made a strangled choking sound instead of what should have been laughter. She fell on her side and was slightly dragged towards the gaping hole as the skiddo's weight jerked her towards it until her weight had been enough to hold the skiddo in the air with its vine whip still attached to her. The skiddo gave a terrified bleat and the clacks of hooves against rock sounded as it tried to pull itself up using the vines that wrapped around Victoria.

Akuroma groaned as he pulled himself up over the crack, gasping for breath as he began to tear the leech seed off of them. He looked over at Victoria, noticing her having to hold up the Skiddo. He glared at the Tyrunt as he walked up to her, dusting himself off. He then grabbed at the vine around her mouth and began to try and pry it off of her. "Ugh, that thing's holding onto you for dear life. Can't really, nngh, blame it," he said as he pulled and tugged at the vine.

Finding himself unable to pry the Skiddo's vines off her grimaced, looking over to see if the Pokemon was getting over the crack of not. He then looked back at Victoria, "Any ideas?" he asked the Tyrunt, though he didn't really expect much.

The tyrunt gave a huff of extreme frustration, the skiddo had managed to slip the vine even more around her mouth so her jaws were stuck together and she couldn't even speak. There was a clacking sound as the skiddo managed to set itself vertically on the wall with the vines not twisted up and spinning him into the rock. It took step by step with a triumphant expression as it neared the top, growing closer and closer until it would be at the top and able to wreck havoc on the group once more. Not far off, the other three skiddo were working on freeing themselves. One had managed to stay above ground, and the others were using the strong skiddo as an anchor to help themselves up.

Akuroma looked back, noticing the Skiddo helping each other up. "I'll be right back," he said, running up to the Skiddo on the surface. Since the Skiddo was busy trying to help it's friends up, Akuroma Thunder punched it the face. He then swept his leg up under the Skiddo, tripping it up before Akuroma grabbed a hold of it's horn and dragged it over the edge, letting it land on it's friends.

He then teleported back to Victoria, "Crap... ok plan b, this might hurt," Akuroma said, pulling at the vine enough to get his hand under it. Once his arm was stuck against the Tyrunt's face thanks to the vine, Akuroma began to use protect. The shield of energy began to try and expand from Akuroma's arm, acting as if it were protecting him from the Vine whip. Hooking his arm, Akuroma began to pull at the vine again, the expanding shield forcing the vine to open up enough for Victoria to pull her head out.

The tyrunt waited patiently until the vine had been slipped over her mouth, thankfully the protect didn't harm her tough skin due to her natural durability. The tyrunt's large jaws quickly went to work, not waiting for the kirlia to clear itself as she began to snap at the binds that held her body. A growl erupted as she tore at the vines, each one snapping as her teeth cut the grass pokemon's attack. She felt the grip slacken as she made her progress. It wasn't long before there was a terrified bleat followed by a thump as the gnawed vines slipped into the hole with the skiddo, and Victoria was free!

Akuroma yipped as the Tyrunt began to furiously snap at those vines, jumping back to let the fossil Pokemon take care of the vines. Once he heard the terrified bleat and thump, Akuroma sighed in relief. "I don't know about you, but I think we should put off fighting that Tyrunt until later," Akuroma said, bending down and resting his hands on his knees.

Taking a few seconds to breathe, Akuroma waited for the Tyrunt's decision, which whould hopefully be in agreement with him. As he waited, the sound of thunder rang out behind him, signaling the approaching storm.

Although the princess hated to admit it, the skiddo had really worn her down. She gave a huff, "Yeah..." She peered down to the lone skiddo who gave a helpless bleat. She looked back to the crack with the other skiddo who seemed to have managed to cling to a rock with their vines and were slowly but surely pulling themselves up again.
"Leave them be, they probably wont mess with us again for a while," she ordered the Kirlia, deciding to show some mercy to the unfortunate skiddo. She felt rather proud of herself, being able to used such a powerful move. She had shown her superiority, even though she had been practically helpless a few moments ago...

Akuroma nodded, "Right, well, I suppose we should head back home for now, do some training and item gathering to prepare for fighting that Tyrunt," the Kirlia said as he stretched a bit, trying to get the soreness out of his muscles. As he was about to walk away, Akuroma peered down and noticed a few seeds on the ground. He bent over and picked up two of them, the other one he took in his other hand and tossed it to Victoria. "At least this wasn't a total waste of time, these seeds should come in handy.

The tyrunt turned to face the kirlia as he spoke, only to have her face pelted in seeds. She gave a huff but picked them up with her tiny arms. She ignored the struggling skiddos and followed the Kirlia, her eyes to the ground, she probably would have been pacing if she had not had a destination.

What should she do? Items were definitely going to be needed, her father never liked those strange objects, but she had to admit that if she couldn't get any stronger faster, then she was going to need all the help she could get whether it was subjects or objects.

"We'll need a lot of those...valuable ones at that."

"The more valuable ones are useless if we have too many. We'd be best stocking up on the smaller items like sitrus berries and blast seeds. We could use some iron thorns to help us and you might need to have a defense scarf or joy ribbon..." he continued on and on. He discussed several items and how they may aid them against the Tyrunt, not even seeming to notice the rain beginning to pelt the pair as his cabin came into view. Aku was fairly ok, his cloak protecting him from the brunt of the rain but soon he and his cloak were soaked. Yet he continued to talk until they reached the door.

The tyrunt's tiny arm reached up to the band on her neck as the Kirlia mentioned Joy Ribbon. These things were supposed to make her stronger over time, but it didn't seem like much progress was being made. She continued the walk back to the cabin with the kirlia. The tyrunt was soaked by the time she had reached the house, having nothing to cover herself and not quite minding the rain despite being a rock type. It was a natural thing, her complaining wouldn't change anything about it in this situation. It wasn't like some Pyroar could obey her will and use Sunny Day to chase off this rain.
"I'm going to head out once this rain stops, going to see if I can find anything else that may be of use.." She spoke.

Akuroma nodded, "I'll stay here for a bit and see if I can contact a couple of friends, see if they'll lend a hand. Or more of claws and thorns and blades." With that, Akuroma made his way around his home, lighting several candles to light it up before he sat down at his desk, beginning to write out the first of several letters while the rain poured down outside.

The soft candlelight keeping Akuroma's cabin from being enveloped in the darkness outside would allow the Tyrunt to take in the sights and smells. Apart from the obvious wooden walls and ceiling, Akuroma's cabin sported several chairs and desks, many of the chairs pulled out slightly in case Akuroma needed to quickly get into one to do some research. On top of the largest desk in the center of the room were several flasks and tubes, each looking freshly cleaned of their contents. The desk Akuroma was sitting at currently was much smaller, holding only a quill and inkwell along with several papers inside and a candle to provide light.

Lining two of the walls were large bookcases, while one was full to the brim, the other had only a few books. Beside the emptier of the pair was a door, left open to show a staircase heading upwards, probably to the second floor and the living quarters of Akuroma and any who he had planned to live with him.

The rain seemed to last for hours. Victoria thought it would have never ended. She was relieved when the rain finally ceased, and said her goodbye to the Kirlia. She was off to collect items, and maybe see if she could find that monster of a charmander she had fought alongside once. He had helped her with the tyrunt before, and they had managed to drive it off. It was certain that it was possible for them to do it again.

She waved at Aku halfheartedly before taking off, the ground still wet and muddy, but not caring much for it. The spoiled prince had to go.
