Lost in the caverns

Tom looked around, trying to look in the dim light. "By Arceus..." Tom sighed. "I'm lost. Again." Similarly to the last time he got lost, the Totodile walked up to the cave wall and bashed his head against a wall; it didn't do anything to help, but it did blow off some steam. "Damn it! I just wanted to train, not get myself lost here!" Tom groaned and placed his head in his hands. He was in despair; at least there was light in the Shadowhue Forest, and some tracks to follow. A groan escaped his mouth. "I'm so freaking screwed..."

Nate seemed to zone out, looking at the gray gummi before looking back at the Charmander. They had just been fighting a zubat, it probably saw them as a threat and attacked. "We need to leave it." He agreed, looking down at the ground. He knew how hard it was to find food away from town, and he felt bad for the charmander.

"So, onwards?" Tom looked into the dark cave, which was now illuminated by both Nate and the paralyzed Charmander on the floor.
"Which way do we go?" He asked the Pikachu.

"Huh?" Nate asked, looking back up. "Right, we have to go forward for now, then there should be some turns up ahead. Let's go." He responded, and started to walk onward into the cave. "So, any reason you were training here?" He asked, making conversation.

"I got a bit tired of the scenery in the Shadowhue Forest, so I figured I'd try training here." Tom snorted. "Fat lot of good that did for me. Lost and almost killed by a Charmander... I can't even practice my aim; there isn't much to shoot in the distance." Tom sighed and looked down on his feet. "Coming here was a complete waste of time."

Nate laughed a bit as he walked, thinking about how obsessed Tom was. "All you ever seem to talk about is training. Can't you just find a way to relax once in a while?" He asked, and looked ahead. "Besides, you seemed to find some fights here. Now, we should take a right up here..." He continued, looking ahead.

Tom sputtered at the Pikachu's words. "What do you mean, all I ever talk about is training?! I relax! Like... Like when I hung out with Sha-AID. Y'know, the Riolu. We played dice blackjack; it was really fun. I also take walks in the Pecha forest and... and hell, training is fun! I relax by working hard!" Tom tried (and failed) to excuse his obsession with training. "Besides, I have good reason to train. Do you remember when you found me?" He didn't bother waiting for the Pikachu to respond. "When I got home, I got a letter telling me that I had six weeks to go there before they came for me. That was a week ago. That means I have five weeks to become strong before I have to deal with Cynthia, a Grovyle, and other killers. I need to train."

Nate didn't respond for a while, taking everything in that Tom was saying. After a while, he decided to say something. "And that's your plan? You're just going to get as powerful as you can and go after her and her group?" He asked almost accusingly. He also took note of the name AID, as a certain deranged meowth mentioned it to him before. "Just waltzing in there?" He added, waiting for a response.

"What? Hell no! Where did you come up with that idea? I'm not going to that hellhole again; there are way too many bad memories there. I'm just preparing myself just in case they follow through with their threat and come for me five weeks from now. I'm not that stupid, Nate." Tom felt his feet kick something on the floor, and watched as the item rolled at the feet of... something else. "Crap."

"Well-" Nate started, when he noticed Tom kick something. It was a Gray Gummi, and it rolled straight to the feat of a Graveler. "Oh crap..." Nate muttered and backed up a bit. "Listen, there's nothing I can do with this one, so I'll help how I can but you're mainly on your own." he said to Tom, and growled at the Graveler. It replied unamused, and proceded to pick up a rock and throw it at Tom and Nate. Nate attempted to jump out of the way, but the rock grazed him, knocking him aside.

Tom only barely managed to dodge the rock, and watched as Nate fell to the ground. "Alright then." Tom shot out a spray of water, but the enemy shrugged it off like it was nothing. "Oh crap, this guy is too strong." The Totodile dodged to the side as the Graveler curled into a ball and rolled at him. "Son of a... Nate, I don't think we'll be able to beat him; he's on a completely different level."

Nate got up off of the floor and looked at Tom, nodding his head. "You sure?" He asked before noticing the groveler start to turn back around, getting ready to roll at the again. "Actually, you're right. We should run." He said, before starting to run down the cave as the graveler came towards them.

Tom started running in the same direction as his Pikachu companion, though he strayed to the right. The feral Graveller continued rolling at the duo, and it was clear that it was aiming at Tom. "WHY ME?!" The Totodile turned his head and shot a spray of water at the rolling Graveller, hoping to slow it down, before sprinting at full speed after Nate.
"Oh, crap, this is definitely gonna get us lost..."

Nate nodded his head, not bothering to look at Tom, and continued to run. "Yeah, well we have two options. We might get lost, or we can still turn back and fight. You can decide, since I can't really do much to help." He suggested to Tom, and looked back quickly. The water gun had slowed down the graveler, but also made it mad. It came back again, gaining speed as it went. "Might want to decide quickly." He commented, still running.

Tom nodded. "Yeah, I'd take being lost over dead any day. Keep running, Nate!" The Totodile was panting now. "Damn, um... I've got an idea!" Tom grinned and started spraying water on the floor right behind him before turning left. This would (hopefully) prevent the Graveler from turning and force him to slide forwards. "This way!"

Nate continued to run and veered left also, turning his head around to see what Tom had done. The graveler started to turn at full speed, but after hitting the water it continued to go straight, slamming into a cave wall. Large boulders and rocks fell down on top of it, burying it. Nate stopped running and sihed, catching his breath. "That was close. Nice thinking Tom." He said, laughing, until he saw that the pile of rubble was starting to shake a bit. "Crap. We should go before it recovers its strength and gets out." He said, and started to walk in the direction they were running. "Alright, we just have to keep going this way then take a couple more turns, then we're out." He said.
