(Up for Adoption) Marion the Mawile Tumblr_mxs1ierf4I1stpmcdo1_500

» Name: Marion Steelworks
» Gender: Female
» Species: Mawile, the Deceiver Pokemon
» Affiliation: None

» Level:
» Ability: Sheer Force, inherited from her father
» Moves:
- Play Rough (Start)
- Iron Head (Level 4)
- Growl (Level 3)
- [ empty ]

» Likes:

-Spicy foods! Especially curry and chili, served with extra pepper sauce and some nice fluffy flatbread or rice.

-Adventure and the excitement that comes just before hurtling head-first into the unknown.

-Hotter climates. (They make her feel at home.)

-Having a nice roof over her head, whether it's made of dirt, stone, wood for palm fronds.

-Shiny things! Especially gemstones, pearls, and large nuggets of ores and crystals. The bigger the better! (And barely being able to carry it? THE BEST.)

» Dislikes:

-Being held back - by her own weakness, or by other's.

-Bland food and especially undercooked rice.

-Having nobody listen to her. Being ignored drives Marion mad!

-A lack of success - coming back empty-handed. Most failures she can excuse as seeing them as a learning opportunity. But since Mystery Dungeons can't even be mapped, there's no knowledge gained, so no loot means an utterly pointless trip.

-Although she's fine in cooler weather, stick Marion in a pile of snow and prepare to endure Marion's ceaseless whining about it. Snow is not her friend.

-Sleeping underneath the stars. Under a little cove is fine, inside a cave is great, underneath a tent is lovely... but if Marion tries to sleep just outside with a blanket, there's a good chance that having the endless starry night sky above her will start freaking her out, leading to a Marion waking everyone up with hysterics at 4 a.m. after claiming she was just about falling up into the sky and never going to come back ever.

» Personality:

Thankfully not as spoiled as you would think a single child of business leaders would be, Marion is actually quite charismatic, having apparently inherited that side from her father. (She's awful at math, though.) She has a natural infectiousness to her excitement that gets people fired up and willing to follow, which couples well with her natural cheerfulness. This cheerfulness, however, does come to some extent with a blindness for consequences. Seeing only the silver lining and not the cloud isn't the best thing when trying to figure out if the cloud is a danger, after all. She's surprisingly forthright about her feelings - for a Deceiver Pokemon, apparently she's a rather bad liar! - but tends to be excited about things at the drop of a hat. Basically she's a likely winner of the Steve Irwin Poke-Prize for Enthusiasm In The Face of Bad Ideas.

Other than that, Marion is endlessly practical and has great stamina, able to trudge through seemingly endless dungeons. But she does come off as greedy - or perhaps shortsighted - because she would prefer to only come out of a dungeon with the greatest treasure, leaving lower-value things behind in order to save space in her pack for that great big prize.

She's done just enough exploring on her own that sometimes she seems a little testy when it comes to other people exploring alongside her. It's her way or the highway, and she doesn't have very much patience when it comes to taking other people's special needs into consideration when she's out exploring. The rest of the time she's not a jerk - it's just that if, say, she was told to work around the needs of a partner with a fear of heights, she would get fed up pretty quickly if not outright snap and tell them to go home if they couldn't handle things! Her willingness to go through a dungeon alone definitely shows her fearlessness to the part of foolhardiness - after all, there's nobody to help drag you out after you faint if it's just you. Coupled with her confidence in her own abilities, she's been successful the few 'trial runs' of exploring caves near her home of Steelworks, but it's a good thing she's being sent to the Guild to learn better habits.

» History:

Marion was born into a rather normal, if high-class, family. Her father, a Darmanitan by the name of Dalton, was intensely charismatic with a head for business - but for years people considered him to be a blowhard with no real actions following all his talk. That changed when Carnegie met his adventuring partner (and later romantic partner) Magda the Mawile. They went hunting not for treasure, like most adventuring teams do, but instead for the cause of industry. Finally they found, as Dalton put it, "the greatest find of our lifetime" - a comfortable series of cave with a lava flow in the center, surrounded by rich deposits of natural ores.

A few short years later and with the help of other pokemon carving out the cave system to develop it - as well as Dalton's charisma being pushed to the max - the little town of Steelworks was thriving. ...even if it was slightly misnamed, because the ores around the town were mostly iron and copper. Steel, fire and rock pokemon found themselves at home in Steelworks, with ground pokemon frequently consulted for sand casting of various objects - throwing thorns, buckles, buttons, all the way up to cauldrons big enough to comfortably sit in.

Marion was born when Steelworks had been given enough time to become a thriving town. Although her parents were loving, they were understandably busy running the place, Dalton powering morale through charisma and Magda going through all the books. It wasn't intentional neglect at all, and it hasn't really affected Marion in a negative way, because at that point the children of all the couples were looked together in a kibbutz style communal setting by teachers and nurses for most of the day. Although she was considered fairly useless to everyone else, there was one that Marion considered as inspirational above all the rest - a one-eyed, damaged, crippled doublade commonly called Lady Danger. The Lady was kind and grandmotherly to everyone, but Marion was especially spellbound by the Lady's descriptions of her old adventuring team. It was a widely-known 'secret' that the rest of Lady Danger's team were killed in the same disaster that took her eye and left her crippled, and Marion was always too polite to ask.

When coming of age, Marion officially grew bored of her plush life - or, rather, she'd always been bored of it, and her father thought that his baby child looked absolutely adorable helping to pour the molten iron to make frying pans instead of playing with her fancy expensive dollies, but now she finally grew bored of helping with the Steelworks industry. Her mother and father understood completely, and as a birthday present gave her a lovely sturdy bag of finest quality along with her very own cast iron frying pan (the best that Steelworks can make!). They sent her off with their best wishes and all their love, letting her know that she will be always and forever welcome back home. ...And, of course, they sent along a lovely set of copper bangles for the Guildmaster not as, well, anything as crude as bribery, you know, but as something to just, oh, ensure their baby darling daughter's easy transition into the Adventurer's Guild.

Marion is carrying:

  1. One frying pan, medium size, cast iron
