Legendary Cup - Chapter 1: Do you Qualify?

It was a beautiful day to go sailing, especially today with the large passenger ship heading to the Land of the Legends. This was the last ship to head to the place of the Legendary Cup. There were many trainers that came in all shapes and sizes. Kids with their parents. Strangely dressed adults. Weird old guys. JOEY WITH HIS EFFING TOP TIER RATTATA Everyone wanted to have a go at the world champion, Zanna. It wouldn't take long to get on land now. "LAAAAAAND HOOOOOOOOO" The call of the crewman had the passengers all coming out to look. The sight was amazing, like nothing else. The land was so large and varied. Desert, snow, greenlands, and much more. It was if Arceus himself took pieces off all the different places in the world and put them together to create this place.

On the upper balcony, a figure in a large coat and hood stood watching their approach. "Its finally coming together. For so long I've planned. So many things went wrong... but they'll be righted in the coming days. I will get what I desire. The world that was meant to be." Without a sound, the figure turned and went back inside.

The Misdreavus grumbled to herself. She was hoping to get a better raction out of her target. She was about to run off again to cause trouble, but was quickly enveloped in a red light by surprise. Kagami was able to find her starter and recapture her before she coukd cause any more trouble.

"Sorry," Kagami said to the girl with a Natu, "It was an accident." Kagami noticed this girl was with someone else. She figured she had interrupted a conversation of sorts. The other person was a young man with white hair and a Seel. They're probably competitors... the young trainer figured. They both seemed to have recieved a starter Pokemon in the same was she had, so it was likely she would run into them later.

"It's fine," smiled Thea, Anya blinking from her position on her trainer's arm.
"You must be another competitor. Pleased to meet you," she paused before introducing herself, "I'm Thea and this is Anya."
The calm female was not at all bothered by the Misdreavus' mischievousness. She understood that all of the trainers here had likely only just met their Pokemon for the first time and that they would probably not be used to their new partner's personality.

Harvey felt extremely awkward from his place, he could not think of any jokes to attract attention so he decided to just compliment the girls, "Yeah...nice pokemon. I got a seel, looks kind of like the one the gym leaders had back in Celadon...then again all pokemon of the same species kind of look alike."
He laughed nervously and hoped he hadn't just made himself look like a total idiot in front of some people.

After being introduced to another trainer, Kagami felt that she needed to respond. "Kagami," she said, "My name is Kagami." After looking at her filled Pokeball, Kagami quickly thought of a namw for her Misdreavus. "And this is... Wisp. Yes, I am also going to compete."

The dark haired trainer looked at the other two once more. The white haired trainer known as Harvey was likely from Kanto, based on his mention Celedon. She silently laughed at him. She was good at finding subtle differences between the same species of Pokemon, be it a scar or a size difference or just a different color. Every Pokemon was unique in her mind, though having Pokemon causing trouble was something she didn't quite like. She wanted to be known as a strong trainer with obedient Pokemon that are still treated as friends. She never saw Pokemon as tools, though she really wanted to have them listen to her.

The girl who introduced herself as Thea seemed to be pretty tolerant about unruly Pokemon. She had shrugged off the event of Wisp tugging on her hair and wasn't angry at all. If someone did that to her, Kagami would probably lose her cool. She took pride in her tiny twin tails and disliked anyone touching them. At the thought of such an event, Kagami pulled her hood a bit farther down. Wisp noted this from her Pokeball. Kagami wasn't the only one analyzing her surroundings.

With all this noted, Kagami figured Thea would most likely pose a theat, and Harvey.... he could still be a challenge, but Kagami wasn't too worried about him. Either way, she didn't have that much information yet. Her observations weren't quite set in stone.

Thea's mind was not as focused on the competition as one might think. If anything she was more looking forward to spending time with these new people, and her new Natu partner. However that didn't stop her from making subtle observations as Kagami had done.
"Pleased to meet you," she smiled to the Misdreavus' new trainer. She paused for a short moment before continuing, "Well we have two days to spend with our Pokemon... why not spend them getting to know some other people too? Would you like to come and explore the city with me?" she asked. The offer seemed to come from out of the blue, however Thea hoped to make her experience here all the more enjoyable by making some friends, even if they turned out to be rather competitive.

There was quite a bit of hubbub out side. Stalls were being put up, fun battles were being had, and local shows were being done. It was a really cool festival to lead up to the Legendary Cup. It was a party out there and you three were missing it! Luckily fate was gonna pull you into the fun. A young teenage girl in a sort of villain costume with a creepy blank stage mask ran in and grabbed their hands. "What are you guys doing in here still? You'll miss all the fun!" The girl dragged them all out to the crowd. The girl would let go and disappear into the crowds.

On a rooftop, two men and a woman were watching the festivities unfold. They wore matching black pants and shirts with a fiery N on the backs. The woman giggled. "And so it starts. The master's plans can't fail. We will change the world." The bigger of the two men grunted out in a gruff voice. "I hate waiting. I wanna see action." The last man stepped forward, voice calm but commanding. "Quiet Cain, you'll get your turn. Jamie, get the grunts picking off guppies and monitor the progress. Data is the most important thing right now." The woman nodded. "Right Nick. I'll make sure they are... discreet with their fun." With that, the three split.

Harv was dragged into the streets with the other two girls, he was pushed further down the road by the crowd, he lost sight of them instantly. The white haired boy looked around and spotted them once more. He made his way back, his Seel had managed to climb on top of his head and was laying on it as if it were a rock. The seel was heavy, and Harv had difficulty keeping his head balanced, but didn't disturb the pokemon. He spoke, "What was that all about?" he asked, talking about the girl that had dragged them out there.

Kagami was silently pushed outside by a mysterious young lady who rudely ended up disrupting her conversation. Why would someone do that? Kagami wondered. Festivities or not, if she wanted to be outside Kagami would simply go outside. Why force her? Was something planned to go on inside in secret? Was this some kind of advertising thing? Whatever the reason, Kagami didn't like it. And although she got sparated from the other two competitors, like Harvey she was easily able to reunite.

"What was that all about?"

"Heh, your guess is as good as mine," Kagami replied simply with a shrug. She wasn't going to suggest to go out and enjoy the festival, as really she wanted to be back inside. Still, if either of them suggested to do that Kagami had plans to follow along. What was the worst that could happen?

Thea remained silent as she was pushed outside, though she did find the action to be a little rude. Losing Harvey and Kagami in the crowd, Anya hopped onto Thea's head to help direct her back towards her new friends.

Thea shrugged in response to Harvey.
"She could have just asked us to come with her if she was that desperate for us to go outside..." she frowned, not liking it one bit.

Despite the festival outside, not all was good in the city...

Two guys in black leather jackets, red Ns on the shoulders were laughing at a trainer who was beat up on the ground. One of them was holding a pokeball. "I told you that you couldn't beat us. We'll be taking your pokemon. Always wanted a Doduo actually. Go home you loser, Team Nether is in charge and weak little kids like you are just meat."

Thea trailed off from what she had been saying, her green eyes scanning the immediate vicinity as if searching for some sort of explanation for the girl's behaviour. Instead however, she caught sight of the rather heinous act of two guys trying to steal a Pokemon from a fellow trainer. Not liking this one bit, Thea swiftly moved over in their direction.
"You shouldn't steal from others," she stated calmly, "For one thing it's illegal. Secondly, it's just downright rude."
Somehow Thea's tone remained calm and gentle as she said this, despite an obvious inner anger at the two people's actions. Thea could feel Anya's anger towards the pair as well, though the Natu kept it hidden behind a calm exterior, just as Thea herself would.

Harvey stared at the scene for a bit along with the gathering crowd as one of his most recent friends confronted the two. He would jump in if things got messy..
