Three Talented Trainers (Hoenn RP)

Ellie rose early on a beautiful, bright morning in Mauville City. She and her friends had decided to go on a journey across their home region, and today was the day they would begin that journey. Ellie had packed most of her stuff the night before, and was just finishing it off now, her Taillow, Reese, bringing over the spare pokeballs she had bought from the mart the day before. After packing those as well, Ellie headed downstairs, Reese fluttering after her.
"I'll see you around mum!" called Ellie as she headed out the door, ready to go and meet her two friends and set off on their journey.

Ellie's Team:

"Well it is only a town," grinned, moving onwards with Reese and Malcolm in tow, "Anyhow let's find the pokemon centre. Red roof spying skills activate!"

Of course with Ellie's apt observation skills they soon found their way to the pokemon centre. Here Ellie returned her pokemon to their pokeballs and handed them to the nurse so they could get a checkup whilst she sorted out the application for a contest pass and got a room for the next few days.

The next few days. Could they even imagine, how much this was going to slow them down?
Someone else might be gym leader somewhere then! Someone, whose strategy hadn't been analyzed by Wilson yet!
 But since there was no chance of getting out of this, he might as well make the best out of it and train as much as possible. Elvis' Magnitude attack could use some work...
Wilson was in higher spirits again, now that he could put together an efficient training schedule, improving the fighting capacity of his Pokémon as much as possible.

"A few days?" Seph had mumbled to himself when he found out how much time they would actually be spending there. He wanted to keep moving, but he also wanted to see Ellie in the contest. "Eh, i'll just spend the time training and exploring..." he decided after setting his bag down on the pokecenter's provided bed. He looked to see Calypso sitting on his bed, seemingly bored once more, "Wanna try out the contests?" he asked the marill. The pokemon's ears perked and the pokemon gave a slight jump of joy. This made Joseph wonder if the pokemon's previous owner was a contestant like Ellie..

Ellie had gotten the room opposite Seph's in the pokemon centre, but was currently downstairs in the lobby still getting her contest pass.
"Here you are," smiled the nurse, finally handing over her official pass and a pen, "Just sign it here and you're all done!"
Grinning, Ellie did just that. Reese was back on her shoulder after being returned to her trainer. Malcolm was resting his wings and had landed on Ellie's head. With her contest pass ready, Ellie headed upstairs with her room key. Going inside, she flopped down on the single bed, making sure to close the door behind her. Reese and Malcolm fluttered over to the doors that lead out to an almost mini balcony, Ellie getting up to open them and wander outside.

Outside Wilson was already training with Elvis, having the Rock type repeatedly Tackle a tree.
Should he have seen Ellie, he didn't show it, meticulously taking notes on the Roggenrola's progress.
His baggage was already stowed away in his room, which he was only planning on using for sleep.
Wilson just hoped, that the contest would be over as soon as possible, so that they could continue on their journey and visit a city, that had a real arena. Not this contest stuff.

"Hm...I'll sign up for you Calypso, if I somehow manage to make it we'll balance out Contests and Gyms, how does that sound?" He asked the marill. The pokemon gave a happy jump and leaped off of his bed to jump her way to the nurse's desk in happy twirls. Seph signed up for the contest with relative ease, and decided against telling the others, "Keep it a surprise, right?" he said to the marill once they were back in their room. The marill grew a devious grin and nodde, "Rill!" Right

Reese spotted Wilson and flew down to investigate. The Taillow using Quick Attack to make the journey faster, a long white trail of light following the bird as she flew. It was quite similar to Tail Glow and what they had been attempting earlier actually. Ellie wondered if perhaps she could use that instead, properly showing off the talents of both of her Pokemon instead of leaning mostly on Malcolm's abilities.
"Hey Wilson!" she called down, Reese tucking her wings in and spinning her body to create a spiral affect with the light from Quick Attack.

Startled, Wilson looked in the direction, the sound was coming from to see Ellie on the balcony.
"Is there a specific reason, why you are interrupting my training? And for that matter...why aren't you training? If this contest-thing is so important to you, you should have finished at least three units on your training schedule already! If you're this lazy, you are endangering your chances of winning!"
Wilson couldn't believe it. Ellie had still not begun her training. She probably didn't have a schedule even!
How could someone be this careless?

Joseph heard Wilson shouting something about training schedules from his own room. Calypso huffed in annoyance and leaped out into the hall over to a window that was on the same side of the wall as Ellie's balcony. She shoved the window open and seemed to be attempting to tell Wilson off...Seph laughed nervously and returned the enraged pokemon...only to have it instantly pop right back out. The marill huffed and blew a raspberry at the strict trainer before giving a huff and leaping off of the windowsill.

"Eh, this counts as training too!" she grinned, pointing at the trails Reese was making with her Quick Attack. Wilson was right though, she should probably be getting some training in. So she called Reese and Malcolm inside and locked up their room before going down to the areas the pokemon centre had set out for battling. After some brainstorming with her two Pokemon, Ellie began to practice some more for the appeal round. After all she needed a strict, professional looking but beautiful appeal that showed off both of her pokemon if she were to advance. She was pretty sure she could make up battle moves on the spot if she needed to.

Since Ellie was finally training, Wilson could focus his attention on his own training as well, now ordering the Roggenrola to use Sand attack, trying to hit various crudely made targets he had bulit out of twigs, stones and grass.
The anoyed Calypso was ignored by the trainer and his Pokémon, since Wilson was sure, that he couldn't afford any further distractions. While Elvis was training, he was sitting on a small rock, notebook in hand, working on possible strategies and moves for battle. They had to become the very best.

*Skip to next day I guess?*
Seph woke to a Heracross staring straight at him by the side of his head. "YIKES!" He called in surprise, he also woke to see that he had fallen asleep with his door open to his room. He rubbed his eyes and closed the door, "What're you doing out Herc?" he asked the heracross. The bug pokemon shrugged as if to say, "I don't know." Joseph stared at Herc, "You're an odd one...." he told the Heracross, after all it was staring at him while he was sleeping...
Joseph got dressed and went out into the halls with his pokemon just behind him, "Is today the contests or not?" he groaned in a bit of agitation to his pokemon, who remained silent. Joseph sighed, "Ok Mr. Talkative we'll go train..."
"Hera!!!!!" The Heracross cheered.
"Let's go see if Ellie and or Will want to come."
"Crooossss!" The pokemon cheered once more.

Ellie had woken quite early that morning despite training late the night before and was completely ready to get up and train once more. Reese perched on the edge of Ellie's bed and Malcolm fluttered lazily around the room as Ellie went over their appeal ideas again. They would have time before the contest today to keep practicing and perfecting it, but for now Ellie wanted to see what Seph and Wilson were up to.

Stepping out into the halls of the Pokemon Centre building, Ellie nearly bumped into Seph.
"Morning!" she grinned, "Going out for a spot of training?"

Wilson had woken up early as well, storming past Ellie and Seph. He immediately ran outside, not even bothering to greet them. Outside, he released Elvis from his Pokéball, starting with the training.
Today was the day of the contest, which he would inevitably be forced to watch, so he had to get as much training as possible done before that happened. After all one had to train to improve and without improving, one would never be able to accomplish anything. Life was a race. Those who improve quickly win and are successful, while those, who slack off will never manage to get anything done.
And Wilson was determined to win that race.
