A little lost...(open)

Cimche was hoping he was taking the right direction he was told to go, but from what it looked like it seemed he had took the wrong route. He looked around in the clearing he stopped at and all that he saw was a spoiled bitten in pecha berry. looking at it for a second he declared the spoiled fruit as a placeholder and moved along. He continued to walk unaware of which way he was going, and when seemed that he had made some progress he was bought back where he started in the clearing. Soon enough he began guessing taking ways off the path, and after minutes of walking was lead back to the familiar clearing, the rotten fruit seeming like a reminder of how lost he was.

"Hate getting lost." He said as he tipped over the fruit with a kick.

Tired and feeling a slight headache he sat down next to the berry, looking up to the sky through the tree foliage. He wondered if he should try climbing a tree to get a vantage point, but was bought out of that thought as he heard crunching followed by the sounds of ruffling leaves behind him. Quickly getting up he readied himself as he waited for who or what might emerge from the foliage.

((I don't think a +energy trap would work like that, but I don't know. I can work with you here.))

"Copying? That's a pretty nifty ability. If I use my Fire Spin, and you copy that, we might be able to create a wall of flame they can't pass. We could Roar at them to scare them away, too."

Opal had to admit she'd underestimated the panda pokemon. There were now so many more options opening up to the unlikely pair. What should they do? Team up to create a mighty wall of fire or a terrifying noise? Maybe Opal could Roar while Cimche charged forward like a beast? Roaring and fire? Maybe it was better to cut some of the hostiles off with Fire Spin then focus on the others. Divide and conquer.

Her mind was so busy running over possibilities that she hadn't noticed the trap nearby. A scream alerted her to the situation. When the Growlithe looked around to find her new partner gone and a pit in the ground, she put two and two together.

"Cimche! Are you alright? Hang on!"

He heard Opals voice from above, insuring her that he was ok. He wasn't fully alright, his back hurt immensely from the fall, but nothing a simple wish could help. Looking around the pit he tried to make out a way to climb out, looking next to him he saw that the stick he had fell with him. He picked it up but was unsure of what to do with it, the first thought being to stab it into the wall to help climb with, but the pit didn't have much other leverage.

He went with the plan however, not being able to think of anything better, stabbing it into the dirt he stood on top of it. He scaled it halfway before he lost his footing, causing him to fall back down, loosing his breath as he hit the ground a second time. As he lay down on the ground catching his breath he put his hands together, whispering under his breath. once he was done slowly he stood up.

"Um... I'm going to need help getting out of here." He yelled, unaware if she was there to hear him.

The fiery pup felt a burst of energy as she fought to rescue her trapped charge. She hastily spat fire from her muzzle and formed it into a wall the zigzag-patterned creatures were unlikely to pass. With the most obvious threat delayed, she dashed off into the forest to search for something she could use as a rope. Unfortunately, this task was made more difficult as the big-eyed birds saw their chance and swooped.

A few minutes passed before Opal came back hauling a thick vine. She sustained some injuries as the birds continued their assault and pecked at her. Though she was weakening, the pup had a job to do and someone to save. She threw one end of the vine down the hole.

"Quickly!" she urged through her clenched jaw, "I don't know how long I can hold this!"

Cimche worried as he heard a torrent of flame echo through the pit, hoping his companion was ok as he heard the flames crackle. He just continued looking up, waiting for there to be any sigh what happened. He was surprised as he saw a vine fall in, lightly slapping him in the face. Following her command he began to climb as quickly as he could. For a second he found it difficult from the injuries he sustained, but then his body began to shimmer, and slowly his aches and pains began to go away, him progressing up the vine a little quicker as he healed.

When he made it to the top he looked to Opal, thanking her. But then seen the injuries she received, Feeling a little bad his mistake got her hurt.  

"Are you ok? one sec, let me heal you." He said before cupping his hands (paws?) togeather and wispered. "I wish for Opal to feel better, to cure her of her ailments."

After he was done he looked around, seeing the wall of flame as it kept the striped pokemon at bay. "So I guess you did that?" He asked, smiling as he rubbed his head.

"Yeah, I did that."

Opal slumped down as she dropped the vine. The birds continued their swooping and pecking. Weak as she was, the Growlithe still managed to lunge with her head and catch one of them by the leg. This had the effect of panicking both, with the caught one frantically trying to get away and the other hovering anxiously nearby.

Behind them, the flames were dimming. The raccoon pokemon could be seen pacing back and forth. They were eager to assess the situation, eyes lit with greed. If the Hoothoot had softened up these hapless travellers enough, it would be an easy mugging, or so they thought.

(ah just read the moves that effect energy. I would go with 3, cuz math and all.)

Cimche dodged one of the birds swoops, but was unable to dodge their pecks, him trying to swat them away. The pecks stopped however when he heard a struggle nearby, turning to the sounds of feathers fluttering to see Opal subduing one of their assailants. Thinking he should help he tackled the bird, successfully glomping it down to the ground, knocking it out.

He looked over to Opal to see if she was ok, but noticed that his move started taking effect, her body shimmering as her injuries somewhat healed. Taking a quick glance over to the bird and flames he saw that the bird was still hesitant to intervene, probably even more so due to his partner being subdued. And with a glance at the flame he knew it would be much time before they're out numbered again.

"Have a plan in mind?" He asked as he got off the bird.

The birds flew away, deciding these two strangers to the forest weren't worth the trouble. Opal was happy to leave them alone if they left her and Cimche alone. Now they just had to deal with the pinecones and raccoons, though the former hadn't done anything except block the path out of the forest. They were still just staring. It felt rather odd.

Opal relaxed as she felt the healing energy take effect. The first time she had taken benefit from this move, she didn't know why she was glowing. Now she knew it was just part of how things worked.

"I suppose we should run while we have a head start?" the Growlithe suggested as she studied the lowering flames, then looked at the cones in their way, "We might have to take a bit of a detour, though."

"Sounds good." He said before, with a wobbly start, began running in the opposite direction from all the conflict.

He looked behind them a few times to make sure they where being followed. At first they where not but the distance sounds of running clued them in that they where being followed, having them pick up the pace. He tried his hardest to keep up with Opal's speed but fell back sometimes. After what felt like a safe distance away from their pursuers Cimche called for a break, feeling a little dizzy. After a dramatic tip of his body, he roughly sat down. He was overall ok, just the occasional problem.

"That was kind of a thing wasn't it?" He said, wide grin on his face. "Thanks for the rescue. Don't know what I would have done if you where not there."

Opal took off in the same direction as Cimche, easily catching up and surging ahead. Still, it was no mean feat to outpace those raccoons. The Growlithe ended up leading the way, heading deeper into the forest to lose their pursuers among the foliage. She planned to head to the exit once they were safe.

When she heard Cimche call for a break, Opal slowed down. She hadn't even thought about the panda pokemon's speed. A quick check helped the pup decide it was okay to rest. She sat down and smiled.

"Yeah, that was certainly eventful," she agreed, "And you're welcome. You did really well to keep up with a Growlithe."

"Well I guess we should continue, before anything else happens."

Picking himself up, Cimche followed Opal through the forest as they traversed it. He was wondering why it was taking them so long to reach the edge of the forest. He wasn't sure how long they had gone for, nor how long they had run, but this forest couldn't have been that big, could it? Passing by a log, they made it over it, but not without him falling over, landing upside down. He recovered quickly though, and they continued to venture the forest.

He thought he heard noise, sounding a distance away from where he stood. looking through a bush, but what he saw made him move out of the bush. Calling Opal over to come and see they occupied the bush as it kept them hidden from anything in view.

Opal fussed a little when Cimche fell off the log, but the Spinda seemed to be unharmed. Their detour through the forest indeed took longer than it would have to simply follow the path, but this way they'd lost the raccoons and bypassed the pine cones.

Her attention was brought to another group of pokemon nearby. Two of them looked like... Opal didn't know how to describe them. Bundles of noodles? With feet? The Growlithe wondered if it was some hind of hair, and what was beneath.

Assessing the situation Cimche began to sneak around, crawling by the sleeping Pokémon as he looted the area, trying his best not to awake them. As he continued to crawl, he bumped into something he didn't think was there before. Looking up he saw the long body of a tree, or at least he thought it was a tree until he inspected it further to see a grinning face on the top half of the "tree".

Taken aback by the face he didn't notice it when it reached its bush like apendages at him. At first Cimche thought he was trying to grab him, flinching away. But after a few seconds of nothing happening, Cimche looked back to see it holding something in its orbs grip, a green gummi. He looked back up to see it still smiling.

A little hesitant to grab what was in his hand he looked over to Opal to insure he would be helped in case anything happened. In a slow pace he picked up what was in its grasp, and right after Cimche removed the item did the "tree" return to its normal pose. Cimche looked around as if he was expecting something else to happen bet that seemed to be it, looking up to the kind being he smiled to it.

"Thank you."

Cimche thought he saw it wink from its thanks but was distracted by the bird that landed on its head, representing the ones they fought before, but this one didnt seem affiliated with those ones. The bird however seemed oblivious to the figure for which it had pirched on, nor did the figure seem to care. Kinda feeling wierded out as the bird and "tree" stared at him he quietly walked away, not sure how to make out the situation.

Opal was certainly paying attention to all these strange creatures. She watched carefully as the tree-like pokemon interacted with Cimche. It was a surprise after the hostility they'd just faced. What made the occasion even more unexpected was a second one approaching Opal and handing over two seeds. She thanked it, then gave a stern look to a nearby bug type who looked like it wanted the seeds for itself. The bug thought twice about trying to take them and flew off.

"Well, today's been quite eventful. I'm ready for a rest. Let's head out of the forest before something else happens," the Growlithe remarked. It wasn't quite evening, but it was later in the day than when she'd entered to feast on berries. How quickly time had passed between the feasting, fighting and fleeing!

Cimche nodded in agreement with Opal, and they both continued through the forest. It took them some time but they began to see the edge of the forest ahead, and soon enough they where out, coming along some tall grass as the view of Grassviel was at a distance. Seeing even from that far that the town was bustling with activity.

"Welp, I'm finally here, Grassviel. Thank you for helping me get here." He said with a bow of his head.

Taking the oran berry he found on the trip he held it out to Opal. "I don't have much but I hope this can compensate for your troubles."

Opal happily accepted the berry. "Thank you! It doesn't matter that you have nothing else to offer. I helped you, and that makes me happy," she replied. Her tail started wagging as Grassveil came into view. That meant Cimche was safe, and that Opal had succeeded in her task of escorting him out of the forest. It wasn't a guild mission, but not everything had to be.

"Do you have somewhere to stay in town?" she asked, "If not, there's a small hotel I can show you. I have a room there at the moment. It's quite comfortable.
