Gauel grumbled a bit as he trudged through the muck of the mire, kicking up the muddy water. "I know I offered my arm for you to ride on back in Cattail Marsh," he said to apparently no one as he continued to move on. "But why do you have to be in there?" To his question, Gauel pulled his bag up a bit, opening it up to look at the Fletchling now huddled inside with his stuff. He didn't understand why she had to go in there if her wings got tired. Plus that was his stuff she was sat on. The Grovyle knew he'd have to wash his berries before trying to eat them unless he wanted to taste Fletchling feet on them.

Arie: 0 Energy, escorted by Gauel. Will edit my tracking thing in here when I get the laptop |D

Arietta poked her head out of the Grovyle's bag before looking up at him. Testing her wings with a few flaps, she then spread then and fluttered up to land on Gauel's head. She was surprisingly gentle with this manoeuvre, although she couldn't really stop Gauel from feeling her small feet on this head.

"Better?" She asked with a small chuckle. The Fletchling had been inside the bag as it was dryer and warmer to help her finish drying off her feathers after he episode in the water. She didn't particularly want to keep using her Flame Charge to do the job as it took a lot more energy than you would think to generate fire and tiring herself out before they'd even gotten to the deeper parts of the swamp hadn't seemed like the best idea.

"I think my feathers are all pretty much dry now. But thank you very much for the use of your bag," she chuckled lightly.

Cana had been trudging behind Gauel the whole way. It was rather difficult to keep up with the bigger Pokemon. She was soaking wet, and cold. Far too cold. How much further were they going to go? This water was not good for her. If her body temperature dropped too much, she might not be able to use her fire moves that well. She wasn't even sure she could still use them.

Arietta seemed to have been able to get her feathers to dry. That was good. It seemed the bird was able to fly again. Gauel was not too pleased that the Fletchling had been in his bag the whole time but she seemed to have liked being in there. Cana was rather jealous. She would have wanted something like that too. She tried not to think about that now.

Mists had been started surrounding them. She was a good end behind the others. She had to catch up before she lost sight of them. The idea really scared them. If only her body would move faster through the water. She tried, but the forms of Arietta and Gauel slowly got further away from her. She got scared. She didn't want to be left behind. "H-Hey, wait for me!" She desperately called out in the hopes they would wait for her to catch up.

Gauel huffed a bit at the Fletchling, "Yes, you're welcome," the Grovyle said. The Grass type started rummaging through his bag, making sure none of his items ended up damaged by the flying type being inside. If it weren't for said flying type being perched on his head right now, he'd probably be voicing a few choice words. His train of thought was interrupted when he heard their Fennekin companion calling out to them.

Looking up, Gauel saw that the fire type ended up quite a bit behind them. He frowned a bit, not knowing why the Fennekin would be so far behind all the sudden. "What's the matter? The water ain't slowing ya down that much is it?" he called back to her, stopping as to allow her to catch up.

As Gauel looked into his bag, seemingly checking over all of his items, Arietta glanced backwards to check that Cana was doing okay. The quiet Fennekin hadn't really said much whilst Arie had been hidden within the Grovyle's bag. Noticing how far behind she was getting, Arie hopped up and down on Gauel's head, before spreading her wings and flying back the way they had come a few paces, bridging the gap between Cana and the wood gecko.

"She's a lot smaller than you," Arie frowned, wishing that Gauel would at least consider their fellow pokemon before heading off at such a fast pace. The Fletchling then fluttered closer to Cana, hovering near the Fennekin and sticking close to her side rather than going on ahead again.

"Are you okay?" she asked gently, her tone automatically softening when she spoke to Cana, compared to how irate she sounded when communicating with Gauel.

Cana was relieved to see that the Grovyle did stop and wait for her. She had been worried she would be left behind. It seemed Gauel had not noticed she wasn't able to keep up with his pace. The water was indeed slowing her down and she was rather cold too. It was difficult to move. The Fennekin was about to say something but Arietta beat her to it.

The Fennekin looked confused at the Fletchling for a minute before making her way towards Gauel again. When Arietta asked her if she was ok, Cana tried to keep her voice steady. "I-I'm fine." She said to the bird. It was not entirely true but she was going to be ok once she was able to warm up a bit. Once Cana managed to catch up to Gauel, she looked around. She was not able to see a lot with the mist surrounding them.

Gauel huffed at Arietta's response. Size certainly didn't stop him when he was a Treecko. He certainly didn't feel like he was going much faster, but maybe the size difference was the cause of that. The Grovyle looked down at her once she had caught up. "The water's gonna get deeper soon. Wanna rest for a minute 'fore we keep goin'?" the Grovyle asked. He already sat down in the shallow water, grabbing a trio of Sitrus berries from his bag.

Holding two of them out to the other two, Gauel chomped into his berry. He had clearly already made up his mind to take a quick break. While carrying Arietta wasn't really difficult, the journey itself was. The mucky water had hardened into a thick mud before thinning out on several occasions, and the fog didn't help  at all. Gauel was sure that he was moving in circles several times. Not that he would admit it to Cana and Arietta.

Now that she was nice and dry once more, Arietta stayed near Cana, hovering in the air so that she knew the Fennekin wouldn't get left behind. The duo soon caught up though as Gauel had stopped to allow them to.

"I agree we should probably rest for a moment, but the water keeps getting thicker and I don't think it wise to rest in it," the Fletchling frowned, taking a moment to look around her. The trees that littered the swamplands as the mist had drawn closer seemed to be covered with thick vines. She could easily perch on some of the trees herself, but perhaps there would be some tree roots that would be a suitable rest spot for Cana?

"Thanks," Arie replied to the Grovyle as she gently accepted the Sitrus berry that Gauel offered. She then motioned towards the trees, "I think some of the three roots would be the best place to rest as they're the only things that stick out of the water and the closest we have to solid ground," she reasoned out loud.

PostSubject: Re: Cold Marshlands 2   Cold Marshlands 2 EmptyThu Apr 07, 2016 5:29 pm

Cana looked around for a minute. It was so difficult to see with all that mist. Cana actually wanted to rest, but if she would end up resting, her body temperature would drop too much. She stared at the other two Pokemon. They both seemed like they wanted to rest. Cana didn't really want to go against them. She hesitated a moment before answering Gauel's question. "I guess we could rest."

Cana stared at Arietta when she said they should not be resting there. That seemed logical, but were else would they rest? Cana had no idea. She had not really noticed Gauel was offering her a berry until then. She stared confused at it for a moment. "Is this...for me?" Cana asked hesitantly. "Thank you..." The Fennekin carefully took the berry from Gauel. She was about to eat it when Arietta spoke up again.

Cana looked over at the trees in the distance. Maybe resting on a tree root seemed like a good idea. Maybe her fur would be able to dry a bit. It seemed unlikely with the mist that was hanging around them but she liked it. "We could go to one of those trees." She said more to herself than the rest.

Gauel chewed on the chunk of the berry in his mouth as the other two discussed moving over to the tree. He wasn't so keen on moving as they were. The water didn't really both him that much, though he didn't feel it was his place to argue. Not that there was any reason to anyways. "Mmkay," he said, standing up before he picked the Fennekin up out of the water. Grunting a bit, Gauel carried the fire type towards the nearest tree with a good bed of roots to get on.

As the Grovyle set the Fennekin down onto the sprawling roots, he noticed a ribbon similar to the one wrapped around his arm tangled up in a few of the roots. Gauel tilted his head a bit as he started to untangle the fabric from its wooden prison. He quickly became so engrossed in the task, that he was unaware of a row of glowing red eyes peering at the trio from the mist.

As Gauel picked up Cana, Arietta followed them both over to the tree. Whilst they rested on the tree roots, the Fletchling landed gently in one of the tree's branches, allowing her to both stick with the two other pokemon, as well as keep an eye out for anything that might attack.

Now that she was sat neatly, she began to peck at her berry, slowly eating it by holding it with one of her claws and pecking at it's flesh. In between each bite she would scan their surroundings, not wanting to be caught by surprise as they had been back in the marshes.

Slowly but surely she made her way through the small fruit and she was taking the last few bites of it when she spotted something odd through the mists. It wasn't the dull greys or greens of the mist and trees, rather it was a startling bright red.

"There's something out there!" Arie hissed down at the two who were still positioned on the tree roots, motioning in the direction she meant with one of her now unfurled wings.

PostSubject: Re: Cold Marshlands 2   Cold Marshlands 2 EmptyFri Apr 08, 2016 8:18 pm

Cana was surprised when Gauel picked her up. The Fennekin flailed a bit. She didn't like being suddenly grabbed like that. "Wh-What are you doing?" She asked, half in a panic. She had not noticed he was carrying her towards a tree until he had put her down on one of the roots. The Fennekin stared a bit confused at him. "Eh...Thank you." She mumbled quietly. She didn't look at Gauel. She was not sure what to say.

The Fennekin noticed Arietta had landed on one of the branches of the tree. It seemed as if she was eating something. That was right. Gauel had given them a berry. She should eat hers too. The Fennekin put down her bag and took out the berry she got from him and started eating it. She was not that fond on the sour taste but it did give her some energy.

Cana looked up startled when Arietta said there was something there. She was not able to see anything at first, but then she saw the red light shining through the mist. "Wh-What is that?" Cana looked rather scared at the light. It seemed pretty dangerous to her.

(Energy: 7)

Gauel peered over his shoulder when Areitta mentioned something in the fog. He watched the red glowing lights blink in and out of existence. It was a bit of an eerie sight, almost alien in origin. The lights began to slowly move forward, the dark shape of the creature beginning to form out of the fog.

Gauel turned around completely, the joy ribbon now in his claws as he faced the larger Pokemon. The dark form stopped as it watched the trio now face it. It seemed unsure of what to do now. Gauel himself wasn't sure what to do.

If he attacked, it probably wouldn't look good for him being the aggressor. If he waited for the Pokemon to attack, he wouldn't know what to expect or if he could even get out of the way. Cana was definitely stuck if she were still too cold and wet to move very fast.

Grimacing a bit, Gauel stepped forward a bit, putting a bit of distance between him.and the other two as he fsced the shrouded Pokemon. "Alright, whacha want?" the Grovyle asked the Pokemon.

As something began to move out of the fog, Arie snapped up the last of her berry and took off from the branch, fluttering in mid-air so that she was ready should the sudden presence of another pokemon be a hostile one.

He heard Gauel speak to the pokemon as it revealed itself from the swamp's mists, but it did not appear to respond. Instead, it stared at Gauel for a moment, before it's body began to spin rather rapidly, preventing anything from attacking it without getting harmed themselves as he moved towards the Grovyle. It was clearly an aggressive move, but Arietta was unsure how to act in this situation as she did not have any non-physical moves.

Cana stared at the red light coming closer. It seemed to be a Pokemon. It was not a species she knew about. Was it dangerous? It was not talking to them. It just came closer and closer, radiating a strange red light. It was scaring Cana a bit. The Fennekin looked nervous at the others. They seemed to be on guard as well.

Then it happened. The pokemon started spinning around and it was making its way towards Gauel. What was she supposed to do? He was in the way for her to use any fire attacks but she couldn't just jump inbetween the Grovyle and the strange Pokemon. "Gauel...Be careful" The Fennekin hoped he would be alright. She didn't want to have to fight it herself.
