(Energy: 9)

Gauel grumbled a bit as he trudged through the muck of the mire, kicking up the muddy water. "I know I offered my arm for you to ride on back in Cattail Marsh," he said to apparently no one as he continued to move on. "But why do you have to be in there?" To his question, Gauel pulled his bag up a bit, opening it up to look at the Fletchling now huddled inside with his stuff. He didn't understand why she had to go in there if her wings got tired. Plus that was his stuff she was sat on. The Grovyle knew he'd have to wash his berries before trying to eat them unless he wanted to taste Fletchling feet on them.

Gauel laid there motionless, save for the shakey rise and fall of his chest as he attempted to breathe. This day wasn't his best, that was for sure. First he had his meltdown against the Frogadier, now he was near death from an explosion and a very confused Swampert. His day certainly wasn't going to get any better, as the continued mention of "Shaymin" by the Swampert had caught the attention of a trio of Gourgiest, who quickly began to approach, making no attempt to hide themselves from the group of Pokemon gathered around Gauel's unconscious body. The more intelligent Swampert turned, ready to face the fast approaching Grass types. "Look alive, enemies!" he called out as he swung his arm in the path of the Gourgeist. However, all three disappeared in a wisp of smoke just before they hit the large Pokemon's arm.

Arietta 1

Yet to Find;
-Water Stone
-TM Sludge Bomb
-Pink Gummi

Yet to Encounter;
-Solosis

The Fletchling hopped off of the Grovyle after feeling the rise and fall of his chest and hovered neatly above the marshy waters for a moment, before the Swampert cried out, drawing her attention to the approaching trio of Gourgeist.

Arietta had less than a second to react, beginning to charge towards them before the ghostly pokemon disappeared in small wisps of smoke. One of the Gourgeist appeared behind Arie moments later, seemingly drawing up from beneath the muddy water that covered the floor, and yet it's body was not covered with the evidence of it as once would expect. The young Fletchling flinched and whipped around as she felt the eyes on her back, only for the Gourgeist to swipe at her.

The Gourgeist's strike however went straight through the little robin pokemon, causing her to shiver at the feeling, but not take any damage from it. Both Arie and the Gourgeist looked bewildered for a moment, before the Fletchling realised what had happened and quickly struck back, coating her body with flames before flying at the ghost pokemon who was now retreating a few steps backwards.

Cana was relieved to see the Fletchling get off the wounded Grovyle. At least he was breathing. The meant he was not doing that bad, right? Cana was hoping that was the case. The Fennekin looked up surprised when the stranger said that there were enemies. This was bad, they had to protect Gauel. The Fennekin waded inbetween the enemies and the Grovyle, but then they disappeared.

Cana looked around confused. "Huh? Where are they?" She asked the others. They could not just have disappeared like that. They still had to be nearby. Cana saw one of the wild Pokemon appear behind Arietta and attack her, but the attack went straight through the bird. That had distracted Cana enough, to not see another one appear straight next to her. The Pokemon swiped at Cana and send her flying. The Fennekin fell in the water a few feet further.

(Energy: 47)

The final Gourgeist appeared next to the unconscious Grovyle, swiping at him with its hair. Unable to protect himself, Gauel was flung across the water. His bag popped open partially, allowing a few seeds and berries to fly out and follow him. When Gauel smashed back into the water, the items followed him, peppering his body. Once again Gauel was face down in the water motionless, berry juice and broken seeds floating around him.

Meanwhile the two Swampert began to try to counterattack the Gourgeist that had attacked Gauel. The two, however, were having little luck with their attacks, as the ghost type continued to puff in and out of existence to dodge the larger Pokemon. It floated backwards quickly, before it sent a volley of leaves at the two water types. As the leaves closed in, a multicolored volley of leaves came up from behind the Swampert, moving around them before converging with and countering the Razor Leaf.

Gauel stood there growling, biting a chunk out of a sitrus stuffed apple as he glared at the battle in front of him. "Get out of the way, or next time they're hitting you," the Grovyle said to the Swampert as he threw the core of the apple into the water.

Meanwhile an escape orb that fell out of Gauel's bag hit Cana on the head and sent her home. (screw you laurel)

Arietta's Flame Charge collided with the Gourgeist, dealing super effective damage to the grass and ghost type. She was lucky in that the hit seemed to be powerful enough to defeat the pumpkin-esque pokemon, it landing in the mires and not getting back up.

After poking and checking to see that the gourgeist really was knocked out, Arie turned back to Cana anad Gauel, just in time to see the escape orb collide with the Fennekin's head. Cana was immediately warped away and Arie hovered there for a moment in brief shock, unsure what she should do about such a development. On the plus side, Cana would be safe and sound at the entrance to the mire, but on the other hand she would no longer be a part of their search party.

Even though he was actually conscious now, Gauel was still at a disadvantage with the two Gourgeist. He had no move he could use that wasn't effective enough against the pair of dual types. At the very least he had the two Swampert backing him up. The Gourgeist continued their attacks, sending waves of Razor Leaves, Bullet Seeds, Shadow balls, and anything else they could at the trio. Gauel and the two Swampert did what they could to counterattack. Gauel threw out energy balls while the Swampert threw out Hydro Pumps and Mud Slaps to block the rest. The five Pokemon were at a stalemate, none able to actually land a hit on their target.

Arietta shook her head and turned her attention back to the battle at hand. Cana was now safe, but Gauel and the Swampert were not. Landing on the one of the few patches of solid ground for a very brief moment, the Fletchling propelled herself back off of it for a bit of extra speed and flew towards the Gourgeist. Her body became cloaked in flames once more as she used Flame Charge. This time her beak also began to glow as she used Peck. Gourgeist was grass type, and so the combination of both fire and flying types should do heavy damage to them.

Arie collided with one Gourgeist, and then continued her attack so as to hit the second with her combination of attacks as well. After this, she landed deftly on the ground, almost tripping over. Using two moves at once had taken a lot out of her and she breathed heavily as she turned around, hoping that both Gourgeist had finally been defeated with her moves.

While they weren't knocked out, the two ghost types were definitely caught off guard and badly damaged by Arietta's combo. The Swampert and Grovyle quickly jumped in to finish the pair off with a pair of hydro pumps and an energy ball. The two fainted, giving the group a moment to breathe. Gauel groaned, plopping back onto his rump. Despite the sitrus apple he ate, he was still showing wounds and signs of fatigue.

"Aaagh, Arceus that hurt," he grumbled lowly massaging one of his shoulders with his claws. "So, what's next?" he asked out in general, not sure who would have an answer nor if he'd care for it. At the very least, he'd be quick to accept leaving the dungeon, given the throbbing he felt all over.
