In all of Time and Space - Unova RP

First topic message reminder :

Claudia wandered out of the house with a cheerful, "Byee!" to her mother and a quick wave. She carried with her a pale blue bag which no doubt stored some impressive amount of possessions in it. Claudia's long red hair hung loose, flowing out behind her as she skipped down the road of Nuvema Town and headed towards Professor Juniper's laboratory.
Today was the day she was going to start her Pokemon journey. Today was the day where she would finally get a Pokemon of her own!
Grinning to herself, she once again went through the three Pokemon that most new trainers in Unova chose from when they started their journeys.

There was Snivy, the grass type. Lithe, nimble and pretty cool by starter standards.
Secondly there was Tepig, the fire type. Tepig was kinda cute in Claudia's opinion, but having seen some of it's evolutions, she was less than keen to choose one. A previous run in with a trainer's angry Emboar had put her off of them and to be honest she still found it hard to be around them.
Last but not least, there was Oshawott, the water type. The first time Claudia had seen an Oshawott she had literally squealed at how adorable it looked. She couldn't believe it actually evolved into such a strong looking Pokemon.

Claudia was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that she had reached the laboratory. Gently, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

"That sounds like an idea... perhaps I could also try combining Dark Pulse and Extrasensory...?" she wondered out loud.
"Anyways. I'll practice that later. Let's try out these other combinations first, since this one works quite well already. What about the Fire Fang-Dark Pulse one?"

Gabriel nodded, wiggling his finger at Tyson in a silent command for him to take up his spot on the field once more. The Lillipup happily bounded into his place before patiently awaiting his trainer's command. "When Loki uses Dark Pulse you need to time your Fire Fang up with it and set it on fire." Gabriel whispered to Tyson. "You can do that right?" He flashed a grin. Tyson barked the affirmative.

The Zorua listened intently to his trainer before getting back into his position.
"Alright Loki, Dark Pulse along the ground. Aim towards Tyson!"

Loki's jaws parted and he fired a dark pulse onto the ground. It snaked along, heading towards Tyson at quite a pace. It's dark energy looking like a shadow, with hues of purple mixed in.

"Now Tyson!" Gabriel called.

Tyson watched the orb of shifting black and purple hues as it grew closer and closer. His jaws were quickly engulfed in flames and he opened his mouth wide before exhaling and biting down around the dark energy.

It was a peculiar feeling, seeing as it wasn't something solid Tyson was biting down on. However, he felt his jaws close around it as if it was in fact something tangible. He backed off and observed as the blacks and purples became oranges and grays and yellows and purples.

The flickering ball of orange and purple energy floated in mid air like a ghostly lantern. Loki watched it, quite enjoying the way it looked for reasons unknown to himself. He used his Illusion himself to look like Tyson and charged towards the ball, the White light streaming from behind him. Before he collided with the ball though, he stopped, dropping the illusion and skidding to a halt beside it.

"I think Loki wants Tyson to use Tackle on it..."

Gabriel instructed Tyson to do so with a thoughtful look on his face.

Tyson copied Loki's actions, paws thudding against the ground in a steady pattern as he dashed towards the lantern-like orb of energy. He hurled himself against it and was surprised to find himself going through it entirely. The oranges and grays and yellows and purples clung around him and streamed out behind him as he continued to dash about the field.

Gabriel looked on in awe. "That looks like it could pack quite a punch too." He mused out loud.

Loki grinned and looked rather proud of himself as he watched Tyson dash across the field with the hues of red, orange, purple and black dancing clearly against his pale fur.

"I think we should definitely use this in our upcoming battle," grinned Claudia, "It could probably give us a huge lead when it comes to points. We could also try doing multiple of those dark lanterns and then perhaps flinging them towards the opponent? Maybe Loki could get his Extrasensory to work in his favour and control them to go towards the opponent?"

Gabriel nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds perfect! We could even use Tyson as a distraction rather than an actual attack. The sight of his fur with the dark energy around him is rather mesmerizing and could make other Pokemon falter enough for Loki to get a hit in." Gabriel continued to shoot ideas towards Claudia as Tyson made a happy noise, seeming rather pleased with himself. He, of course, offered his (overly enthusiastic) gratitude to the Zorua through lots of barks and licks and nudges.

Loki chuckled, trying to dodge away from as many licks as possible. Though the nudges and barks weren't exactly that bad.

"I think that's a good strategy. Anyhow we don't have too much longer before the next round. I think we should practice the Extrasensory-Tackle combination and then make sure Loki and Tyson are in peak condition for the battle," she smiled.

Gabriel agreed with a nod and called Tyson back over to him. Once the Lillipup had again taken his position, Gabriel spoke. "Alright, Tyson. I'm going to have you use tackle and then Claudia is going to have Loki use Extrasensory. As long as you be sure to steer clear of the psychic energy then you should be fine. You can handle that right tough guy?" He grinned, ruffling the fur atop his Pokemon's head. Tyson barked and nodded vigorously.

"Alright then! Tackle!"

Tyson launched himself forwards, gait smooth and steady. He looked nowhere but forward, quelling his nervousness. He could handle a simple psychic attack!

"Okay Loki! Extrasensory!"

The Zorua nodded, a golden beam of energy being generated from his parted jaws. It sped straight towards Tyson, but a swift movement from Loki caused it to split into three whilst still retaining it's origin point in front of the Lillipup. As Tyson charged forwards, the Tackle's power caused the origin point to be carried forwards, whilst the split tails from the Extrasensory left a golden spiraling trail behind him.

Gabriel grinned and jumped up with a cheer. "Great job you two!" He called, beaming at the two Pokemon.

Tyson continued running until the power of his tackle attack died down, paws slowing gradually to a halt. When he came to a stop the Extrasensory dissipated, leaving only a faint golden glimmer as it evaporated into the air. Tyson yipped happily.

Gabriel thought for a moment. "I'm not sure that there's any room for improvement there. I think that one went rather well." Tyson, happy as ever, barked his agreement.

Claudia grinned, giggling quite excitedly.
"I think this battle will go rather swimmingly!" she smiled, returning everyone to their Pokeballs.
"Anyhow. We should probably get everyone rested and ready for the next round. We're totally gonna win this thing!" grinned Claudia as she dashed off towards the Pokemon Center.

When she reached the red roofed building, she handed her team over, deciding to get Celandine and Copper checked out at the same time, even though they hadn't been battling.

Gabriel jogged after Claudia, digging in his bag for his Pokeballs. He returned Tyson to his once he had found it and did the same with the other two, setting them atop the counter in the PokeCenter. With a bright smile and a thank you, Gabriel walked over to the waiting area where he promptly plopped himself down on a chair and let out an exhausted sigh.

"Contests are haaaAaarrddd."

Claudia sank down into a chair next to Gabriel.
"Yea but they're fun!" she grinned, "And you feel awesome when you win a round so it's worth all the hard work in the end!"

Claudia sighed as she sank further, "Just this round and then we've won our first contest!" she grinned.
"I hope our opponents don't have a Fighting or Bug type Pokemon... That might be a problem. Especially a fighting type."
