PostSubject: The Misadventures of the Tree Lurker and His Prey   The Misadventures of the Tree Lurker and His Prey - Page 2 EmptyTue Oct 02, 2012 9:56 pm

First topic message reminder :

It was dark. This much was obvious seeing as the setting is a pitch black forest with only random spots of sunlight able to seep through lighting the way. Something less obvious, however, was the Pokemon lurking atop a branch about mid-way up the tree. The only clue that indicated that the Pokemon was there was the occasional glint of weak sunlight against gold and the ever present green eyes that seemed to glow in the gloom.

Keyami was in a tree. It felt like a tree kind of day. Not a bush kind of day, that's for sure. It happened to also feel like a fantastic day for lurking and waiting for unsuspecting passerby. Ohh he was gonna prank these Pokemon SO hard. And it was going to be absolutely perfect.

Astrid laughed at the revelation of the name. Despite Keyami's oddities, he sure was an entertaining Pokemon to be around.
At the Meowth's "Coming?~", he nodded, quickly slithering after him. Despite how he looked, Astrid was extremely agile and speedy. He managed to slither along at a fast pace without toppling over, fairly easily.

Keyami let out a happy yowl before skipping into the darker parts of the forest. "Follow me, MWTMF! TO ADVENTUREES!" He let out what he was going to refer to as his adventure cry. Aaand then he tripped over pebble roughly the size of an ant. Ah well, you can't win all the time.

Astrid chuckled at the Meowth's misfortune but then slithered over to see if he was alright. When he confirmed that he was, the Dratini helped him to his feet using his tail and then carried on 'to adventure'.
"So... what are we looking for?" he asked, curious as to what this adventure would now consist of.

Keyami stopped. "Well... I don't really know!~ Anything exciting I guess.." His brow furrowed and he stuck out his lips. "Hmm.. What do you think we should go looking for, eh?" He tilted his head, eyes glinting in the low light level. "I'm nearly out of adventure ideas! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! MOTHER OF ARCEUS! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!?" He suddenly began hyperventilating and flopped over on his side. Classic Keyami.

"Calm down Keyami..."
Astrid didn't exactly know what else to say. The Meowth was obviously bothered about the fact that he didn't know what to do for an 'adventure' and so Astrid attempted to think of an answer.
"Well... to be honest doing 'anything' can lead to an adventure... so it doesn't matter whether or not you have an idea to start with..."

It was lame, the Dratini had to admit, but he had to say something.

Keyami paused in his hyperventilating. He seemed to mull over the idea that Astrid had presented him with before he sat up, a happy grin reclaiming his face. "You're right! Huh that's new.. I don't say that a lot~ Better not get used to it MWTMF!~" He leaped to his feet once more before charging off in a random direction. "THIS WAAAAAY!"

Astrid would have raised an eyebrow if he had one. Instead he just shook his head, chuckling to himself as he followed the Meowth's dust path. Keyami himself had already charged on beyond his sight. Astrid soon caught up however. He was about to say something when he heard a rustle in the bushes and promptly stopped in his tracks.

Keyami turned around at the growls and rustling of leaves that suddenly filled the air. His brow furrowed and he began trotting back towards where Astrid should be slithering along after him. When he had gotten about half way there, he was greeted with the sight of a Mightyena glaring and growling viciously at the Dratini while a Roselia was shooting leaves from the flowers on its hands. On a positive note, Keyami noticed a small blue berry at the Dratini's ....lack of feet? An Oran berry! With that last thought settled in his mind, he set off in a Fury Swipes attack, aiming for the Mightyena.

Astrid blinked before attempting to dodge the leafy attack. He gently curled his tail around the Oran Berry as he did so, taking it with him as he slithered underneath the leaves and attempted to unleash an attack on the Roselia.
The Dratini gathered a small ball of water in his mouth. Dropping it on the ground, the water pulse spread outwards, heading for the Roselia.

The Mightyena meanwhile watched as Keyami drew nearer. When the Meowth was close, he used his claws to flick dust up and into the Meowth's eyes. He then snapped at Keyami with outstretched jaws, only missing because of a ball of water that hit him in the face before his jaws could close.

Keyami hissed and scratched at his eyes, blinking out the burning dust. Once he regained visibility he launched himself forwards once more, this time feinting to the left before diving in on the Mightyena's right side. He slashed down it's flank once. Twice. Three times before the glow in his claws faded and returned to normal. Once finished with his attack, he quickly ducked back into the shadows, waiting for his opportunity.

The Roselia was rather miffed at having it's attacks so easily deflected. However, it didn't really have time to dwell on this seeing as the Dratini's attack was headed right for it. It attempted to duck out of the way only to be pulled into the water. It struggled feebly, finally freeing itself after receiving a minute amount of damage.

The Mightyena was enraged, following all of the Meowth's quick movements with it's parted jaws. It continued to snap at Keyami, missing every time until he jumped away. The Mightyena then followed Keyami into the shadows. It used Tackle, it's huge frame charging at the smaller Meowth.

Astrid meanwhile was speeding back towards the Roselia. He wrapped his large though lithe body around the grass type, trapping it and stopping it from moving away, but also damaging it at the same time.

Keyami let out a small noise of alarm, clearly not having thought that the Mightyena would follow him. Thinking quickly, he rolled sideways, leaving the other Pokemon to charge straight into a tree. Given this opportunity, Keyami used Foul Play.

The Roselia let out a shrill noise as it was constricted by the Dratini. It thrashed wildly before letting out pale yellow spores in an attempt to paralyze the Dratini's muscles. It continued to thrash, let out growls and screeches every so often.

More nimble than he looked at first glance, the Mightyena angled himself so that it wasn't his head that hit the tree, but his side. However, whilst the Mightyena recovered from that hit, Keyami leaped in and used the Mightyena's own power against it to deliver a hugely powerful attack.

Astrid meanwhile recognised the yellow spores as dangerous and tightened his grip on the Roselia, continuing to squeeze the health points out of the grass type. As the spores rained down on Astrid, he remained in that same position as he was paralysed. The Dratini made no attempt to move, instead rendering the Roselia at least temporarily trapped whilst Keyami finished off the Mightyena.

While the Mightyena was momentarily incapacitated by the huge blow Keyami had just dealt, the Meowth turned about to see how Astrid was doing. He noticed how stiff and unmoving the Dratini was before his eyes caught the bright red berry. "OOH TASTY!" He dove towards it, paws outstretched. However, the force of his impact sent the berry flying straight for the Roselia and the Dratini.

The Roselia used Growth, attempting to escape in any way it could. As the berry came flying towards it, it ducked, not wanting to be hit by the projectile.

Astrid concentrated on trying to use what little movement he could get to keep the Roselia in one place. It used Growth, but it's now slightly bigger size just caused it to have less room to maneuver and thus it was even worse off than before.
The Dratini didn't have time to think as the berry shot towards him. The Roselia had ducked and Astrid merely had time to blink before it hit him in the face. He was grateful though, because the berry hitting him in the face meant he could get it into his mouth. After he had eaten it, he regained complete movement of his body and proceeded to hit the Roselia with a close range Water Pulse, whilst still keeping his body wrapped around it.

The Mightyena meanwhile, had just recovered from the Foul Play and was getting back up onto shaky legs. Whilst Keyami's back was turned, he used Tackle again, charging swiftly towards the Meowth once more.

"Behind you!" Astrid managed to shout, before the Roselia freed one of it's rosy arms and whacked Astrid over the head with it.
