First topic message reminder :

(Energy - 5)

The Icy Lands were just as cold as Sova remembered them. Actually, it was colder since this time he was much farther in, nearing Mt. Frostmeer. Luckily, the snow wasn't obstructing vision, or he might have gotten lost trying to find it. Why was he even here? He thought about turning around, but the idea was quickly discarded as he was reminded of a voice echoing through his head.

His recent hallucinations brought on by the peak of Black Mist Mountain hadn't lasted with him for more than one day, yet he was still hearing the voice in his head, insulting him, calling him weak. Not because of any drug, but just because he couldn't forget it. The only thing he felt would ease his mind of the voice was to prove it wrong. What better way than risking death to climb a mountain for no sensible reason?

Even though he felt exhausted already just getting there, he didn't let up even for a break. He had to prove to himself that he wasn't weak. Though....proving something that isn't actually true in the first place usually isn't easy.

The avalugg rolled its eyes before following, slow paced but steady. Kin watched them go, once they were out of sight, the swinub turned to look at the vixen. He studied the vixen for a bit, "Could of sworn i've seen her face before...oh well!" the swinub shrugged as much as it could with its tiny little arms before skittering off to the item pile they had collected to recount the stock of items. Turns out, they had fewer escape orbs than the Swinub had thought, "Sheesh...only three left...I thought we had ten..."

The avalugg stomped along, the earth seeming to shiver with each step. The monster didn't seem to converse much, and was silent, only looking to the ground ahead of them and skimming it to search for signs of the orb.

As the walk was fairly boring and would likely continue to be fairly boring otherwise, Sova attempted to make conversation. "So....I assume you CAN talk. Right?" He said as he followed along, figuring the avalugg probably knew the area better than him and thus allowing him to take the lead would be better. Besides, it wasn't like who was in the lead made a difference. All that mattered was that they got to their destination, found an Escape Orb and got back. Though the loud footsteps of Jok could prove to attract some unwanted attention. That'd make their job slightly less simple.

The avalugg looked to the Glaceon as it spoke to him, and its response was a creaking like groan. Jok seemed to prove incapable of speech, it would have liked to tell the Glaceon that it used to when it was Burgmite, but lost the ability to upon evolution for some strange reason.

--

The swinub sighed, it was boring without having someone to talk to. He usually spoke with Jok, having been around him long enough to understand Jok's new language of creaks, groans, and moans. Now all he had with him was a passed out Zorua whom he could have sworn he had seen somewhere before. Maybe somewhere in Grassveil? Someone in the guild? He shrugged, figuring he had something more important to think about.

(Snorunts?  BOOORING LETS ROLL SOMETHING BIGGER)

"Weird sound to you too....  Guess you CAN'T talk.  But that doesn't mean we can't get along.  You can still understand me.  Or at least I hope you can...."  Sova attempted to hold the rather one-sided conversation and make up for his incorrect assumption.  "So, do you know where we're going?  If not, I know the way back to the froslass' den....probably."  He said, before remembering that Jok couldn't speak to say yes or no.

"Uh....stomp once if you know the way."

Jok looked to the Glaceon and ceased walking, lifting one leg and giving a rather large stomp that caused the earth to shake more than his usual walking. The creature stopped, looking ahead of them while making a creaking sound, trying to convey the message that it thought it heard something from farther away.

A Glalie seemed to be floating towards them, an unhappy look on its face as a small cubchoo rode the top of its head. The small bear didn't seem too happy either.
--

The swinub had resorted to recounting the items over and over again, becoming rather bored of having nobody to talk to while waiting for the duo to return. He almost wished he had just gone with them, but then nobody would be here to watch over the zorua should she wake.

Sova sighed and stepped in front of the mute avalugg to do the talking.  He guessed that if he didn't, no one would.  "Alright, I can see you're probably upset about something so I'm gonna make you an offer.  You leave us be and there doesn't have to be any conflict."  He announced to the floating ball and its passenger. He didn't really care if there was conflict, if anything he would be happy to take out his stress on something. Violently. But, he wanted to get back to Mirage as fast as possible.

--------

Meanwhile in cave land, tiny footsteps could be heard from outside....two snorunts. They weren't there just passing by. They were there searching for something, and definitely not on a mission of peace. Because two snow midgets are totally a threat.

The Glalie looked up to the cubchoo and watched it snicker before it hopped down into the snow.
"Doesn't have to be any conflict? That doesn't sound like any fun!" the cubchoo spoke, "Besides, I don't think ol Glalie here could stand not getting a taste of revenge~" The cubchoo seemed to have a bit of a sing-song tone as it made a twirl. The glaile glared at the Glaceon and Avalugg, its eyes obviously filled with hatred.

The avalugg stomped once more, showing a sign of aggression with a rather angry creaking sound.

--

"Huh?" the swinub perked up once he heard some footsteps, "Anyone there?" he called out, rushing towards the entrance, wondering if Sova had to come back for something without Jok.

Mirage, meanwhile, was still out cold.

Sova cracked his neck in preparation for the inevitable fight. "I assume this "revenge" is for the dead froslass. Huh, guess she did have friends.... Welp, if you wanna fight, it's not my fault if you die. Or if you'd like, you can blame me fully. I don't really care." He said nonchalantly as he spread his legs into a fighting stance. Hopefully this avalugg could back up its intimidating looks.

--------

One of the snorunts outside the cave spoke up as they approached the entrance. "Your end."

The avalugg wanted to question the Glaceon what he had meant by dead frosslass, but instead decided it would be best to start the battle itself and give them an advantage. THe avalugg gave a low growl that rose into a bellow, as icicles began to fall from the sky. The icicles struck the Avalugg, except instead of bouncing off it seemed to seep into its body and become a part of it, restoring its health.

The glalie lacked the Ice Body ability the Avalugg had, but was still immune to the hail due to its icy typing. The pure ice type gave a low growl before setting up a shield looking thing around it, using protect.

The cubchoo sneezed as the hail started, and tried to remain behind the Glalie as it set up its barrier, not wanting to be attacked just yet it seemed.

--

"Your End? Who's Your End?" The swinub asked, knowing full well of what they meant, but wanting to be a smart a*s about it, "Is there something you need? I might be able to give you something rather than fighting, I'd hate to fight, its unnecessary and helps nobody!"

Sova growled, not because he was in a fight, but because the enemies were just wasting time. "You two plan to fight or stand behind a bubble?" He said impatiently before firing a Shadow Ball, which collided with the barrier and of course did nothing. He decided it'd be best if he tried to save his energy. The enemies likely had some reason for starting the fight with such a defensive move. Perhaps it was to get them to wast energy attacking.

--------

The two snorunts remained silent for a moment. They then whispered among each other, something too quiet to hear. After a moment, one pointed into the cave towards the sleeping vixen. "The zorua."

"Hold on just a moment!" the cubchoo spoke, although its voice seem to change as it spoke, there was a glowing behind the Glalie, and instead of a cubchoo stepping from behind it, a beartic stepped out, "Okay, now we're ready," it sopke with a toothy grin. It punched its other paw, displaying power with the sound of the impact, showing that it was going to be no easy opponent.
The glalie gave its own grin, this time spouting an Icy Wind from its mouth, breathing ice towards the other pokemon.

The avalugg took the attack, a bit curious as to why the Glalie was using such an ineffective move but deciding to just take the better situation and leave. It remained where its was, tucking its head in as its defense raised, it seemed to be doing nothing, but it was actually preparing a Skull Bash.

--

"I'm afraid we have a misunderstanding, I said someTHING not someONE. Is there something you'd like? An Escape Orb? Food? Perhaps a seed or TM of some sort?" the swinub replied.

Sova stretched as the Icy Wind neared, taking his time in preparing to move. He was not in any hurry because he simply planned to walk through it. Or moreso, to run through it. It'd be the fastest way to the enemies and such an attack would quite literally be like a tickle to him. As the attack neared, he darted through it with a Quick Attack, not seeming phased in the slightest. It wasn't exactly what one would describe as feeling GOOD per say, but it was about as effective as he'd expected it to be.

As he neared the enemies, the fur on his tail froze into spikes. He leaped into the air and fired a Shadow Ball down at the glalie, following it up by swinging his tail down at it.

--------

"No no, there is no misunderstanding. You will give us the zorua or we will take you both." The talkative one of the two snorunts replied. In unision, the two spread away from each other to block off the cave entrance.

Kin sighed, "well I guess you leave me no choice then," the swinub began to glow purple as rocks from nearby came to his calling. The boulders were then tossed at the snorunts, attempting to attack them and blast them away from the entrance. The Ancient Power being used to both attack and knock the Snorunts away from the entrance, and hoping he could block off the entrance with the boulders and keep them from getting in, as he could easily move the boulders once more to let Sova and the others in should they return.

--

The Glalie was struck by the attack, but then opened its jaw as its teeth began to glow a dark color. The Crunch attack aiming for the Glaceon's tail and planning to toss Sova about if it connected.

Jok groaned as he was struck with a powerful attack from the Beartic, however the Icicle Crash did little to no damage to Jok, and the Avalugg was able to easily bash his head into the Beartic's stomach, using Skull Bash. The Beartic roared in pain and fell to its knees, while Jok moved towards the Glalie and rushed towards it to use Ice Fang, colliding and causing the beast to flinch.

Mid attack, most pokemon wouldn't have been able to do much to avoid such a counterattack. He was midair, helpless to the bite. At the very least he would take damage too. Or at least he would have, if he didn't have a certain move by the name of Detect. He was easily able to essentially gather a still frame of the situation and the exact moves he needed to make to avoid any possibility of being counterattacked.

Instead of his initial plan to just whack the glalie with his tail, he ended up moving his tail away and pushing off the enemy's forehead with a paw to stay out of range of the bite. As he hit the ground with his front paws, he spun and- Jok joined in to attack. Taking up the chance to attack without worry as the enemy had flinched, the glaceon fired a shadow ball and began flailing away at the glalie with his tail.

--------

One of the snorunts, the one that seemed to avoid speaking at all, was struck directly by a rock and dealt with rather quickly. However, the more talkative snorunt not only avoided all of the boulders fired in its direction, but counterattacked by creating and firing a fast-moving Ice Shard at the swinub then charging forward with its mouth wide open and emanating dark energy, attempting a Bite.

Kin managed to avoid the bite, scuffling out of the way before glowing with a light brown energy. The earth below the snorunt seemed to boil a bit, before erupting upwards from below before another floating rock swung by to try and hit the Snorunt should it be launched into the air and whack it like a golf ball back outside the cave.

--

The glalie cried out at the damage, and threw up a protective shield once more, forcing Jok to let go. Jok turned slowly towards the Beartic, as he could no longer do anything against the Glalie. The beartic growled, but Jok seemed to begin to glow and the chips in his icy body began to heal over again, regaining any damage caused by the icicle crash and icy wind. The beartic snarled before a glowing globe appeared before it, and launched into Jok, dealing super effective damage as the Focus Blast struck the body of the Avalugg.

Jok howled in pain, but began to glow again as the hail combined with the Recover set to work on bringing him back to full health.

"Oh no you don't!" the bear growled, the icicle beard beneath his chin beginning to glow as a rather large snowball formed at its mouth. The snowball seemed to grow in size and light as it was powered up, until finally the bear gave a deafening roar, and the large snowball shot forward in a beam. The avalugg was too slow to avoid it, and was struck with the beam.

Jok gave a loud screech of pain, the ice forming all over his body as he dropped to sub-zero temperatures, something even an ice type wouldn't be able to withstand. The air around Jok froze instantly, and suddenly shattered as another Focus Blast struck the ice that had frozen Jok. The avalugg groaned in pain, before collapsing, his eyes open wide and his limbs limp at his sides.
