The Cycles

The night was dark as a trio of teens neared the lab where a pokemon research center resided. The group mumbled between each other and constantly shushed each other as they made their way towards the window.
"Who's going to go in?" a masculine voice asked.
"I'm not!" A feminine voice snorted.
"Then why are we even here?" another female voice snorted, "If we're found here, we're DEAD. You hear me? My mom is already mad enough to keep me out of the house, do you really think I want another month added on to her anger?" This particular female had the name of Paige, she was medium of size, had blonde pixie cut hair, and two silver studded earrings. The group wore dark clothes and were sneaking about, the other two teens were her friends, Finch and Hinya.

"They have pokemon, and all I-I Mean we, have is a Drowzee and Paige's Froakie,Oshawott, and that black and white thing" Hinya huffed.

"That THING is a Tanussion, and Tawn and the others have names too!" Paige hissed in defense of her pokemon.

"Whatever, just go in and get us some pokemon!" Finch huffed.

"I'm not going in-hey! What are you doing!" Paige began to speak only to be interrupted as Finch grabbed and held her arms behind her, stepping back far enough so she could not back kick him in the groin. Paige looked in front of her, demanding the meaning of this to find a drowzee's hypnotic eyes and chant taking control of her.

Her struggles grew weaker until she stopped struggling at all, and she was under a complete hypnosis. She was a mindless drone now, as she opened the unreasonably unlocked window, maybe the lab was a little TOO trusting, and stepped in. A bag was tossed in after her, and her two "friends" guarded the window entrance for any sign of someone coming while they awaited their minion to get them their prize.

Paige made her way through the lab, searching for the pokeballs that held lab pokemon. She could not control herself, nor was conscious of her actions. All that mattered to this mindless robot was getting the job done by any means necessary.

Though the Noxigua had taken up a new position on Reese's shoulder, she had not neglected to keep tabs on the Litleo that was currently stalking her from the ground. As Litleo leaped, the Noxigua swiftly switched positions to Reese's head, her quick movements and nimble paws accidentally knocking the jaw clip from her ginger hair. This was surprise enough, but mere moments later the Litleo landed on her shoulder where the Noxigua had previously been, the momentum from which nearly knocked her over. Ryuu had taken a leap of faith off of Reese's shoulder to land on the ground and wandered back over to his trainer to see if she was alright.
Though it seemed like something she would get angry at, Reese was instead found to be chuckling at the entire scene as she crouched the pick her clip up off the ground. After all, pokemon would be pokemon... "..just be a little more careful next time, okay?"
Noxigua hung down from her position on Reese's head so that she could try and apologise for what had happened in a high, almost bird-like noise that sounded as if it were produced from the depth's of her throat.

Paige ignored the scene with the litleo to focus on two strange males in the distance, they seemed to be chatting with each other. The two blinked and turned towards them as if just noticing them. One had bright blue short hair as if it were dyed and the other had natural blonde hair that was slightly longer.
"Hey girls!" one of them spoke, "My names Jeremy, wanna battle?" It was the blue haired one, " One on one seems nice, but my pokemon are a bit weak and shy, so if we could only go one at a time that would be great" the man laughed nervously as if embarrassed.
Blondey merely rolled his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Paige blinked, wondering whether to accept the challenge or not. Sure a battle would be fun, or maybe Reese would wanna battle, she decided to wait for Reese's response to be safe.

Reese had reached out and petted the Litleo as she reclaimed her clip before getting to back to her feet and dusting her clothes off. She smiled at the Noxigua and reached up to pet her scaly skin too; despite how it felt to Reese, the Noxigua appeared to quite enjoy the feeling. Reese blinked however as the two males drew nearer, Noxigua hopping off of her head so she could clip her ginger hair back up to keep it out of her face. It was messy, but she didn't seem to mind, her green gaze instead interested in the blue haired guy -Jeremy's- proposal of a battle.
"There's two of you and two of us. Why not make it a tag battle? We could use one pokemon each, no switching out," she suggested, glancing from each of the new faces to Paige in a silent question of whether she wanted to actually team up or not.

The two men seemed hesitant, but Paige agreed, "I'll be using Litleo."
Paige knew she probably wasn't supposed to use the research pokemon, but judging from how it ran around, it needed to spend some energy and get some fun at the same time. The two men turned to speak with each other, "How many pokemon did you bring with you again?"
"Three," said the blondey in a low voice.
"Shit I have two..."
"Why didn't you bring all of them!?"
"because I thought we were doing shopping errands! Not this!"
"You were told WEEKS before that we were going to get an important mission!"
"Cut me some slack man, they're just girls, I bet they have Skitties and igglybuffs!"
"Since when did you start judging based on stereotypes?"
"Since it was true!"
"Just send out the first pokemon, on my signal send out the entire team."
"What's the signal"
"Now."
"As in right now?"
"No when I say now you moron!"
"Okay okay!"
The two men turned back around and nodded.
The litleo gave a happy meow and leaped down from Reese's shoulder with ease, getting in front of Paige, ready for battle.

Reese shrugged, that was fine by her. Battling was beneficial to pokemon in many ways after all. She had been trying to decide which of her pokemon she would use, when Noxigua, seeing the Litleo's chance to participate, wanted to participate too. She tugged at the leg of Reese's trousers before Reese smiled, and glanced back to Paige.
"Alright, looks like i'm using Noxigua," she smiled, the Tox'Iguana pokemon happily darting forward a few steps where it awaited the battle's start. Ryuu looked a bit jealous but instead of voicing this or acting on the jealousy, he merely hopped back up onto Reese's shoulder to watch.

The two men took out their own pokeballs and unleashed their pokemon. One revealing to be a mew small feline like pokemon that was known as a Purrloin. The feline flicked its tail back and forth in boredom as it stared at the trainers, its eyes moved towards the pokemon, the opponents. It gave a mrowl before finally standing up on four legs, seeming to not prefer the two legs it was certainly capable of standing on.

The other pokemon revealed to be a houndour the dog like pokemon growled and snarled viciously as if in an unending fit of rage. The feline belong to the blonde while the houndour belonged to the outrageously colored hair man.

Litleo growled playfully, its tail whipping back and forth as if in a mock fight. It didn't seem to be taking this too seriously.

Reese was going over which moves the Noxigua knew as she awaited one of their opponents to make the first move. It was lucky really that she'd known all of the professor's pokemon so well.
Venoshock, Magical Leaf, Grasswhistle, Toxic, she remembered. She nodded to herself in relief, now knowing that she could accurately use Noxigua's skills to their team's advantage. She blinked however, when she realised that Paige wouldn't know any of Litleo's moves. She paused for a moment, trying to remember the moveset the young pokemon had.

"Ember, Noble Roar, Headbutt and Work Up," Reese said, quietly enough that their opponents wouldn't hear, but Piage could, "Litleo's moves," she clarified, realising that a random string of moves wouldn't make any sense to her tag battle partner.

Paige memorized the moves through repeating them over and over in her head, just giving a nod as a sign of thanks. The houndour had howled in rage before opening its jaws and unleashing an Ember attack of its own upon the Noxigua. The litleo gave a hiss before puffing out his chest and letting loose a proud and Noble Roar. The houndour flinched and his embers grew a bit smaller as his attack was weakened, the Purrloin covered its ears in attempt to keep out the roar, but failed and its attack was lowered as well.

The Purrloin used Assist, it turning out as the Houndour's Ember. Though this time the attack was aimed at the Litleo.
Grateful for the weakened embers as a result of Litleo's Noble Roar, Reese called for Noxigua to use Toxic whilst dodging the Ember attacks. The Noxigua parted it's own jaws and spat globules of poisoned liquid towards the Houndour and the Purrloin, colliding with some of the flames, but the Noxigua aiming for the Houndour's open mouth. The Noxigua's dodges weren't completely successful however, as the embers managed to singe her tail a little as she concentrated on aiming her Toxic.

The litleo growled in rage as its temporary partner was struck with the ember attack, and charged forward to Headbutt the Houndour that threatened the team the most. The blondie smirked and shouted, "Now!"
The blondie threw out two pokeballs, each one bursting into a different pokemon, a Noibat and a Charmeleon.
The blue haired man sent out another pokemon, a sigilyph flew out of the pokeball and hovered above its trainer.
"at least you brought the good one..." the blonde snarled.
"What the?" Paige blinked, "Hey, call your pokemon back, it's unfair!" she hissed, loathing how the odds were now against her.

Reese took a short moment to admire the Noibat before the Charmeleon sent a Flamethrower their way. Noxigua dodged rather skillfully and Reese grabbed the pokeballs belonging to Isolde and Aiden. "Well if you're gonna be rotten cheaters about it..."
The Elesagi and the Panzumi emerged from their pokeballs and stretched before getting into a battle stance.
"Alright, Sing-Swift combination! Noxigua, use Venoshock!" she called out, not willing to stand for this. The two guys clearly showed no intention of returning their pokemon, and so Reese would teach them a lesson.
The Elesagi's sing move sent multicoloured musical notes towards the newly released Noibat and Charmeleon, with expert precision, Aiden's Swift move then burst each of these notes, sending a sleep inducing powder upon the two pokemon that would be harder to dodge than the Sing move.
Noxigua meanwhile continued her battle with the Houndour. Using Venoshock, the Noxigua's tail leaves glowed a deep purple, before she flicked it at the dark/fire type, sending a vast quantity of poisonous liquid towards it. Already poisoned from Toxic, the Houndour would sustain vast damage from the Venoshock.

Paige growled, having enough of this fight, and unleashed all of her own pokemon. The number of their side now massively out numbered the other with a 4 pokemon difference. Croak had a determined face as she unleashed a Bubble attack on the field, aiming for every pokemon but the ally. Tawn growled as she used quick attack on the Sigilyph, seeing him as the biggest threat. Shelly took the shell off of her stomach and prepared an air slash for the sigilyph, the pokemon was known to be pretty defensive and offensive at the same time, so taking it down would be a problem. Although their attacks were weakened as the pokemon used Cosmic Power, powering up its own defenses.
Meanwhile the purrloin hissed as all of the pokemon suddenly appeared and the battle became an all out brawl. The feline hissed again and dove under a bush, this was too chaotic for it! The purrloin stayed where it was, hidden, as the bushes' branches scratched its back and ruined its fur.

With Noibat, Charmeleon and Houndour incapacitated, Reese turned her attention to the powerful Sigilyph that one of the trainers possessed. Deciding to lend a hand, she called for Isolde and Aiden to use Thundershock. The electric type move would be very effective against a Sigilyph due to it's part flying typing. Noxigua made it's way back over to Reese, a proud air to the way it walked. Reese couldn't help but admire the poison/grass type. Even in the face of a type she was weak to she'd proven herself able to handle it.
However it was then that Reese realised Croak's Bubble attack wasn't just aiming for those Pokemon that were still able to fight, but the pokemon that were sleeping. Not wishing to cause any unnecessary harm to the pokemon, she called for Noxigua to use Magical Leaf to protect the knocked out and sleeping group of pokemon.

Paige was a bit confused on why the Noxigua destroyed her oshawott's bubbles, since this was an all out battle and the goal was to knock out the other pokemon. The trainer decided to ignore the move for now, and watched as the attacks slammed into the Sigilyph. Normally, the pokemon would have been able to handle combat one on one, but the combination of all the attacks right after another and rendered it unable to move. The sigilyph remained silent as its ability to float was lost and it fell to the ground. The "trainers" quickly retrieved their pokemon.
"I told you that you should have brought all your pokemon!" blondie spoke.
"I said I didn't know we were going to do this! Now I'll never get her as a girlfriend!" the other trainer seemed as if they were about to burst into tears and took off running. His friend followed after him, not wanting to face the probably angry trainers alone with pokemon unable to fight.

Reese blinked as the two guys ran off after retrieving their pokemon, "...Girlfriend? What a creeper."
With a small sigh she turned to her pokemon, who had all made their way back over to their friend and trainer. She smiled and pet each of their heads in turn before returning them, save for Ryuu and the Noxigua. Scratching the Noxigua's head, she glanced over to Paige.
"I assume all your pokemon are alright too?" she asked. The question itself sounded a little cold, but Reese's tone was that of concern for the welfare of Paige's pokemon. Before she could get an answer however, she heard a rustling in the bushes and turned to see the Purrloin that belonged to one of the grunts.
"Oh.. they must have left you behind..." blinked Reese, unsure of what to do since the two were already long gone.
