The Cycles

First topic message reminder :

The night was dark as a trio of teens neared the lab where a pokemon research center resided. The group mumbled between each other and constantly shushed each other as they made their way towards the window.
"Who's going to go in?" a masculine voice asked.
"I'm not!" A feminine voice snorted.
"Then why are we even here?" another female voice snorted, "If we're found here, we're DEAD. You hear me? My mom is already mad enough to keep me out of the house, do you really think I want another month added on to her anger?" This particular female had the name of Paige, she was medium of size, had blonde pixie cut hair, and two silver studded earrings. The group wore dark clothes and were sneaking about, the other two teens were her friends, Finch and Hinya.

"They have pokemon, and all I-I Mean we, have is a Drowzee and Paige's Froakie,Oshawott, and that black and white thing" Hinya huffed.

"That THING is a Tanussion, and Tawn and the others have names too!" Paige hissed in defense of her pokemon.

"Whatever, just go in and get us some pokemon!" Finch huffed.

"I'm not going in-hey! What are you doing!" Paige began to speak only to be interrupted as Finch grabbed and held her arms behind her, stepping back far enough so she could not back kick him in the groin. Paige looked in front of her, demanding the meaning of this to find a drowzee's hypnotic eyes and chant taking control of her.

Her struggles grew weaker until she stopped struggling at all, and she was under a complete hypnosis. She was a mindless drone now, as she opened the unreasonably unlocked window, maybe the lab was a little TOO trusting, and stepped in. A bag was tossed in after her, and her two "friends" guarded the window entrance for any sign of someone coming while they awaited their minion to get them their prize.

Paige made her way through the lab, searching for the pokeballs that held lab pokemon. She could not control herself, nor was conscious of her actions. All that mattered to this mindless robot was getting the job done by any means necessary.

Paige took on a face of disbelief, she was brought here just to do an errand, and to be forced into it at that?!
"Hey! I didn't volunteer, don't know about your assistant, but why should I have to do a job YOU were supposed to do?" She narrowed her eyes in anger, waiting for a response from the mischievous professor.
"I ain't doing anything unless I get some kind of reward of it," Paige was a bit of a scrooge when it came to favors and chores. If she didn't get some kind of gain from it, she wasn't going to do it.

Reese shot an irritated green glare at Paige, "Whether you want to do the errand or not, it doesn't mean you need to be rude about it. Even if you don't want to do it, you could at least be polite rather than mouthing off about getting a reward. Hell, you could even just go out of the goodness of your heart, after all you kinda owe us both for last night. If we hadn't stopped to listen to and consider your side of the story you'd probably be lay in a bunk in a juvenile detention center right now."  Reese's tone was calm and level despite the internal irritation and anger that evidently fueled the words. What annoyed her most was that the police hadn't neglected to tell her and Prof. Maple about Paige and her friends's previous arrests and thefts the night before, and still Maple had sided with Paige's story. It wasn't that Reese didn't believe her, but Paige and her friends would have deserved it if they had been sent to a youth prison. That and the girl's generally bratty attitude, expecting to only do things if there was something in it for her.
After Reese had voiced her thoughts, Aerona had fluttered over to Paige. Before the girl could swat the Steapie away, she was pecking at one of the silver earrings that she wore. Aerona's hurried wingbeats also hit Paige in the face as she worked the back off of one of the earrings. The earring then fell out, Aerona catching it before Paige had a chance to and taking it and it's back over to Reese before anyone could intervene.

"If I don't get that earring back i'm going to kill that bird," Paige growled in anger, regretting even coming here. The earrings held a sentimental value, since it had been a gift from her parents. Although she was terrified of her parents, it was probably the last gift that contained hope and respect in/for her.
The young girl glared at the flying bird, swearing to get some kind of rock type to combat it and get revenge. The aim of her threat was to get the other girl to hand it over, maybe her appearance would intimidate her like it did with other people.

Reese had blinked at Aerona's actions to begin with, but upon having an earring dropped into her hand, she chuckled, realising now what the Steapie had stolen it for.
"Well, since you're adamant on getting a reward for your troubles, how about we use this? I'll give it back if you agree to help the professor."
Reese would have previously admitted that the professor's assumption of them going on this errand was out of order, but Paige's reaction and rudeness had made her instead continue to be annoyed with the thief girl and instead attempt to blackmail her into doing the errand as a sort of personal lesson.

Professor Maple had been about to respond when Reese had spoken again. She instead saved her words for afterward.
"Now now, Reese, there's no need to be like that. If she doesn't want to go then she doesn't have to."
"Well she shouldn't have been so rude about it," came Reese's calm reply. It was a little petty, she had to admit, but at the same time it almost felt like some weird form of justice... or perhaps Reese was just a bit of a schemer. Either way.

Paige clenched her teeth in rage before snapping, "Fine! I'll go on your stupid little trip as long as I get it back!"
The entire world was just out to get Paige today wasn't it, well it sure felt like it to her. It's felt like that her entire life. She looked away from the two, waiting to be told the complete errand and who they would be transporting. Hopefully she didn't get stuck with something as annoying as the Steapie. Paige leaned on a nearby counter as she unwillingly waited for the torture to begin and get it over with as soon as possible.

"Okay... if you're sure," said Professor Maple, putting her hands up in the air as if to surrender. She had decided it would be best to send these two on their way before they leveled the town with their growing rage. Perhaps they'd be able to talk it out on the way or something. She headed into the next room and picked up two pokeballs that had been set aside, before returning and handing one to Paige and one to Reese.
"These pokemon are Litleo and Noxigua. Litleo is a normal/fire type and Noxigua a grass/poison type. Be careful with both of them since they're not highly trained like your pokemon," she explained, Reese remaining silent throughout. She had put Paige's earring in her pocket and had returned Aerona lest Paige decide to try and exact revenge. Ryuu was currently hanging from her shoulder. Prof. Maple had given Noxigua's pokeball to Reese, having confidence that she would be able to deal with the sometimes aggressive poison type. Not knowing much about Paige, she had given her Litleo's pokeball.

Paige took the litleo's pokeball grudgingly and headed for the door, not caring if Reese followed or not. The sun shone brightly in the sky with little clouds that were nothing but wisps in the sky. The day was great for travel, but Paige viewed this as one of her many bad days. She had been to the destination town before, she knew that she just had to follow a certain path and they would be there easily. As she got some distance from the lab, she stopped and looked at the pokeball. She studied it for a bit, before calling the litleo out. The ball opened and there was a flash as the cub pokemon appeared, looking around for a bit before looking to Paige, giving an adorable mewl before tilting its head in curiosity.

Reese had paused to let the Noxigua out of it's pokeball before following Paige out of the lab and had suggested that it walk alongside them rather than being shoved in that stuffy pokeball for the whole journey. It wasn't a long journey, but she knew that her own pokemon much preferred being out in the open, so it was only logical to think that this Noxigua would too. The Tox'Iguana pokemon seemed to appreciate the gesture as she walked quite happily and calmly with Reese as they caught up with Paige, despite the professor's warning about neither pokemon being very trained.

The litleo looked back at Reese as it followed Paige, curious about the other pokemon. Paige kept it with her with a gentle command, which was surprising that she had been gentle in the first place considering her mood, and it turned back around to catch up with her. Paige seemed to furious to speak with Reese and her pokemon to speak with them, but would have enjoyed a conversation. She sure as heck wasn't going to be the one to start it. It would look stupid of her to just up and talk to Reese after the recent events.
The litleo gave a meow followed by a pounce a bit forward, entertaining itself by catching an escaping blade of grass.

As Reese walked, she brought out something from her pocket. It was wrapped in a cloth. Taking it into one hand, she gently unwrapped the cloth with the other before taking something from within and passing it to Ryuu, who was still hanging on her shoulder and seemed to be quite comfortable doing so. Crouching down, she took another object from the cloth and gave it to the Noxigua, who accepted it readily and began munching on it.
Returning to her feet, Reese called ahead to Paige; "Want a poffin to give to Litleo?" she asked, offering the cloth forward for Paige to take one.

Paige didn't have time to respond as the litleo leaped up and tried to snatch the poffin from the girl's hand. It was quite an amazing leap for a small animal, but this was a feline like pokemon, it was practically built for jumping and agility. The litleo swallowed the poffin with glee and flicked it's tail as if to say, "Haha~" whether it snatched the poffin or not.
Paige merely shrugged, "I guess he's a little hungry." Her anger seemed to have disappeared now that they were on the quest, since she saw no point in staying angry other than being peeved that she was being black mailed into a task that Reese could have done by herself.
The litleo gave a meow and looked at Reese then Paige then Reese again, then the pokemon Reese was transporting.

Reese, with her naturally quick reflexes, dodged the Litleo's leap, retracting her hand for the cub-like pokemon could sink it's teeth into any of them. Apparently it was just as rude as Paige. They were a good match. Despite this, Reese selected one she hoped it would like and gave it to the Litleo, not before giving it a stern but not harsh comment about politeness and patience.
Handing another poffin each to Ryuu and the Noxigua, she wrapped up the remaining few in the cloth and tucked them back into her pocket before jogging to catch up to Paige so that they were walking alongside one another rather than at a distance.

"I'm sorry for getting angry back at the lab," she apologised after walking in silence for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, the Noxigua was watching Litleo curiously, flicking it's leafy tail. It knew that Litleo had a type advantage, but didn't seem at all bothered at the thought of it.

"Yeah well....I'm sorry for being rude," Paige mumbled lowly, she hated having to apologize, since most of the time she was apologizing for something she didn't do, but this time she really had been in the wrong. The young woman kept her eyes to the path, the litleo traveling around as it pleased, sniff a rock of there, scurry over here, sniff a tree root, dart back over there, catch a falling leaf. The pokemon's attention span was little until it looked at the Noxigua once more, dropping into a crouch and slowly stalking towards it from behind.

Noticing that Paige's eyes were firmly set on the path ahead of them, Reese took the chance to gently slip her silver earring, along with it's back, into one of her pockets. The object being so small, it was an easy task to do it without her noticing.
The Noxigua was aware of the Litleo as it stalked her and took great pleasure in foiling it's plans by bounding over to Reese and climbing up her to sit on her other shoulder. Ryuu blinked as the Noxigua did so, but didn't really question it, after all Isolde, Aiden and Aerona all liked to take up Reese's shoulder occasionally. It seemed to be a habit of her pokemon for some reason.

Not far off, two figures watched the two girls travel onward. They spoke quietly among themselves, "That her?"
"Yeah, not quite what I expected, but it's her nonetheless."
"That other one is kinda cute, maybe we can hold off on the attack a bit until I get myself a girlfriend?"
"Jeremy..."
"yeah?"
"Shut up."
"okay..."
"We'll wait a bit up ahead and pose as regular trainers, take down the pokemon in an "actual battle" and surprise them by sending out our entire team. We should have them wiped out by then. Then we just grab the girl and bring her to the boss."
"Why do we even call him the boss?"
"Because he gives us the orders you idiot."
"but he's just the admin?"
"Shut up and come on, we've got a plan to carry out."

Paige was slightly annoyed that Reese had not accepted her apology, but let it go. She felt nothing of the earring being slipped into her pocket and knew nothing of her Litleo's antics as he leaped up in attempt to jump on Reese's shoulders as well.
