First topic message reminder :

Reina Brightwell:

It was a quiet morning in Viridian City, the sun was shining and a few white, fluffy clouds could be seen in the vast blue of the sky. Reina yawned, splashing some water into her face. She had woken up rather early this morning in her excitement and still felt the effects of a mere few hours sleep.
Hurrying downstairs Reina grabbed herself some breakfast before grabbing her coat and scarf and heading out. She yelled a quick, "See you later!" to her mother, before closing the door behind her and jogging up the stone pathway to the gate that marked the edge of their house.

Carefully closing the gate behind her, Reina pet her mother's Doduo and Ponyta's heads before heading off. Today was of course the day she would get her first Pokemon and she would finally be able to start her very own Pokemon Journey!
Reina slowed down as she reached the edge of the City, passing through the gate area and waving to the guard as she wandered through. She continued this slower pace as she headed down Route 1 towards Pallet Town and Professor Oak's laboratory.

"I'm Reina! Pleased to meet you both. And I always assumed there were just the three starters..." she paused, her expression changing from a neutral one to a mischievous grin, "I guess i'll just have to choose the best one first!"
Reina was a bit shorter than average, but she didn't seem to mind, if anything it made her all the more determined in whatever she set out to achieve. In this case, that meant getting her own Pokemon and becoming a coordinator and pokemon breeder.

"That might ba a problem. I am most interested about the solution that will be found.", Richard commented as he sat down on the fence surrounding the laboratory.
Maybe one day he'd have a laboratory such as this himself. Maybe one day he'd be named alongside Professor Oak and all the other great Professors.
Where his journey would eventually lead him? He didn't know.
But he did know, that it would all start today.
That it would all start here...

"Hey, maybe the professor has an extra or something" Lucas said scratching his head. He was happy that the others were nice. He tried one more to fix his hair but there was no success. He leaned against the fence and smiled.

"Ah, I assume you're right." James commented in response to Reina, and followed her over to the two boys already there. He stood by, listening to the conversation between the other three and starting to tap his foot, looking from the lab and back to the group a few times.
"Well, we're not going to find out anything standing here, are we?" He said to the group, smirking. "Let's head on in and make a good impression." He continued, looking back to the Lab from behind the fence in front of the place.

"That's true," smiled Reina, stepping forward as if to enter the lab. She blinked however as she heard a small rustle in the bushes, pausing to glance over and take a look. The rustling seemed to have stopped, either that or she imagined it. Blinking, she shrugged to herself and headed on inside, now following the others as she had fallen behind whilst giving in to her curiosity.

As they all entered the laboratory, Richard found himself admiring the various machines and devices, that were standing around.
While he tried to guess, what they were used for, he also looked around, trying to find the professor.
He had to be here somewhere...

Lucas was surprised when he saw the lab. The pristine equipment attracted him, but he knew he wouldn't be alowed to touch. "T-this is incredible" he said just taking in the beauty. Then he stopped to look for the professer. Not to embarrass himself if he did get it wrong he whispered "I'm pretty sure it's the guy over there" pointing to the man in the back of the lab.

James took a moment to be shocked by the equipment, noticing its complexity and surprisingly clean look. It was definitely a surprising and awesome sight, but at the moment he could care less about that. What he cared about was the professor standing in the back of the lab.
"Hey, professor!" He greeted the man, immediately leaving the group and moving on ahead with a smile on his face.

After finally stepping into the lab, Reina glanced around. It was full of technology and equipment that she didn't understand how to use. She wandered ahead again, joining James near where the professor was fiddling around with some machine or another.

"Ah, hello!" smiled Professor Oak, grinning for a moment. His grin faltered however, when he realised there were four trainers-to-be and not three. Blinking he frowned, "There appears to have been a miscalculation somewhere..."

He didn't get any further, as there was a loud crashing sound heard from the back of the room. Rushing over to see what was wrong, he realised that the origin of the sound was the new equipment he had prepared for the new trainers, which was now scattered across the floor. Muttering apologies to the group before him, he gathered the assortment of pokeballs, pokedexes and maps up, temporarily shoving them back in a large cardboard box. Reina stepped up to help him, in doing so realising that there were only three sets of equipment here. She wondered if the professor had any more stored somewhere. She paused however, when she saw a flash of brown fur heading through an open door and going further into the lab.

Getting back up to her full height, Reina left the others company to follow the brown furball. She blinked, pushing open the door to Oak's library and peering inside.

As he saw the equipment lying on the floor, Richard attempted to suppress a snicker.
Almost immediately after that he went on to help the professor, a worried feeling in the back of his mind, as the professor clearly had only been expecting three new trainers.
Hopefully they would find a way to solve this.
But why were those pieces of equipment lying around anyways? Professor Oak had always seemed like a rather organised person, so it would have been untypical for him to leave things lying around. There probably was another reason for this...this and the strange sound...

Lucas cocked his head when he saw the unexplained mess and then instinctively went to help clean. It was in Lucas' nature to help others in any way possible, and smiled as he helped clean. One thing did bother him this "miscalculation". One of them was probably not going to get a Pokémon, Lucas sighed a bit. None of these people deserved to be left out, he thought maybe he would decline, but on his heart he wanted to start an adventure to much, Lucas felt a bit disappointed in himself.

"What? Maybe you just counted wrong, I'm sure the four of us are all supposed to be here." James quickly tried to rationalize the situation, not wanting to think that one of them was going to go home disappointed. That couldn't, and wouldn't happen.
Once the crashing noise was heard, James followed the group into the back and helped the professor clean up, taking a good look at everything that was there and noting that there was three of each. No, he probably has a fourth in the back. There can't have been a mistake. He continued to deny the fact that there was only enough for three of them.

A Kanto Journey - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Kanto Journey   A Kanto Journey - Page 2 EmptyMon Jun 03, 2013 1:03 am

In a corner of the library there was what seemed to be a small pile of books. Apparently something had knocked them off of the shelf. Blinking, Reina noticed one of the books moving and wandered closer. She nearly jumped out of her skin when a brown, fluffy Pokemon suddenly poked it's head out from under the books. Chuckling, she slowly moved closer, crouching down next to the pile of books.
The brown fluffy pokemon shied away, it's previously upright ears now flattened to the side as it hid once more under the top few books on the pile.
"It's okay..." smiled Reina, keeping her voice quiet so as not to scare it. She held out a hand, slowly moving closer until she could remove the books that were hiding the small pokemon. Once she had done that, she held out her hand, letting the small pokemon sniff and check it, hoping to convince it that she wasn't trying to do any harm.

Eventually, the brown furred Pokemon seemed to warm up to Reina's presence and she began to pet the pokemon, moving more of the books away and piling them up. When most of the books were cleared, Reina gently picked up the pokemon, eliciting a small protect of "Eev!" for a moment, before it settled down again.
"Shh, it's okay. I'm sure you didn't mean to knock the stuff over," she whispered, opening the library door and heading back into the other room.

Meanwhile, the professor had explained to the remaining three that whilst he only had three starters, he could get more equipment from behind back. He also offered to help one of them catch a Pokemon from Route one to make up for the mistake.
The Professor looked rather confused when Reina returned to the room, noticing the pokemon in her arms.
"Is that what was causing the ruckus?" he asked, Reina nodding in reply.
"Eevee are rather rare Pokemon. You are lucky to have encountered one," smiled professor Oak. Reina just scratched behind the Eevee's ear, the Evolution Pokemon nuzzling it's head against her other hand as she did.

Rather perplexed by the development, the Professor proceeded to fetch the three Pokeballs containing the starter Pokemon and all three materialized in front of him. He explained the name and type of each one, before asking the trainers which they wanted to choose.

Reina blinked as she examined the three starters. All of a sudden they all seemed less appealing partners. She smiled and continued to pet the Eevee in her arms, an idea formulating in her mind.
"So, little Eevee. Would you like to be my starter pokemon?" she asked.

PostSubject: Re: A Kanto Journey   A Kanto Journey - Page 2 EmptyMon Jun 03, 2013 7:41 pm

"So at least none of us will leave empty-handed...", Richard thought as the professor brought up the option of him catching another Pokémon.
But how could this have happened? Making mistakes like that wasn't common for Professor Oak at all.
As his train of thought was interrupted by Reina's return, Richard was quite surprised to see the brown, furry thing in her arms.
He soon was even more surprised, as this furry creature apparently was rather rare!
So maybe all of them would get a "good" starter.
Seeing the professor release the three starters from their Pokéballs, Richard found himself most intrigued by the Seed Pokémon. And judging from the way it looked at him, it seemed to like Richard as well.
"So...what do you guys think? Have you decided yet? I'm going to pick Bulbasaur if noone has any objections."

"I'm fine with it" Lucas said, happy that everyone could get a starter. "If you don't mind I want to get squirtle, it's my favorite of the three. Luca looked at the brown Pokémon and smiled, knowing that everyone was included made him happy. He turned to face the professor and asked "so which one of us was the mistake, if you don't mind telling us sir, it's okay to tell us we won't take offense, and there is a Pokémon for all of us so it won't make a difference".
