1st Person POV Intro:
You are a trainer. You can't seem to remember much of your past or why you're even here, but you don't seem to have forgotten everything. You can still remember who you are, and where you came from. (And some information about your Partner Pokemon if you have one already.)

You are currently sitting on a hastily cleaned chair, in an old lab. You're not alone though, there are a few others sitting nearby. They seem to be about as confused as you are. There was also a man who catered to you and the group not too long ago.

The man had been there when you woke up. You seemed to have been lying on the ground, seeing how your clothes are slightly dirty. It was a bit of a blur, but he seemed to have carried you to this place. Once you were inside the lab, he went back outside. He came back, carrying other people into the lab. Once he was sure no one was left outside, he'd given everyone some water and food.

His name was apparently Cory Carpin. Professor Carpin, as he wanted to be addressed. He had shaggy brown hair and wore an old lab coat and brown sandals. He left to another room in a hurry, saying that he had something to show you all.

You had no idea what you were getting into.

Plot Summary:

This RP will take place in HOENN, many years in the future. Team Magma and Aqua disbanded, but the joy of such news did not last, for a disease struck the region. It was called The 'Nuzlocke'. (LOL NAVI REALLY?) The disease doesn't affect the person's health, moreover, it affects the pokemon the person has captured. Because of this, battling was banned entirely for the sake of the pokemon.

After a few years, an organization called 'Team Sacred Liberty' stood up, overthrowing the Elite Four when Wallace, Drake and Glacia mysteriously disappeared (Rumors say that they retired, but it would be unlikely that they'd step down in such a time of need, wouldn't it?). With an iron-fisted ruler such as Team Sacred Liberty holding the Hoenn citizens back, and trainers refusing to act because of their disease, Hoenn was left in the dust. But soon, an opposing organization was created, called 'Team Cue'. These two organizations have been fighting ever since.

You're playing as a trainer who'll soon be sent on a journey through Hoenn, uncovering secrets that were better left uncovered. Professor Carpin will explain your goal once the RP starts.

General Stuff:

Setting
We're basing this off the Pokemon Emerald Game, but of course, with the whole twist to it. Although the setting is in Pokemon Emerald Hoenn, use the BW Pokedex/attackdex. This is so that the generations don't seem like years and programming apart, and instead actual regions in the Pokemon World living at the same time. Use Bulbapedia as a map guide, works like a charm. If only Ash had bulbapedia surgically implanted in his head at birth...

The Nuzlocke Disease
A mysterious disease that most of the inhabitants in Hoenn possess. This disease affects the person's way of thinking, and can be passed onto Pokemon that stay with an infected human for too long. Infected Pokemon, unlike the humans, are affected in terms of health, causing them to die instead of fainting. This makes Trainers to be the main carriers of this disease, and Pokemon to be the main victims.

Symptoms/Rules
That being said, these are the 'symptoms'.

1.) As stated before, Pokemon die instead of fainting.

2.) A trainer can only muster up the courage to capture the FIRST Pokemon they meet on the route. Gift Pokemon and Trades count. (You can trade between RPers, even with NPCs. Don't go too overboard though, reasonable people wouldn't give up a Vulpix for a Magikarp. Even though Magikarps are BOSS. P.S. Please ask for my permission before doing these NPC events.)

3.) No clones. Seriously, the original pokemon you caught is willing to risk their LIFE for you and you decide to catch a back-up? Shame, shame on you. You can catch the same species of pokemon once the original has been lost. This does not count for evolution lines. E.g. You have a Shiftry and encounter a Seedot. Feel free to capture it.

4.) No Shinies or Legendaries to be caught. They can be encountered briefly for the plot, but they should NEVER be captured. You don't need Sparkle Pokemon or Gods to make you a good trainer. You'll just endanger their lives anyways.

5.) Partner Pokemon can only be starters from other regions. Don't try the easy way for a strong pokemon. The trainers that are supposed to join were to be pretty new, but with some experience. Partners MUST be at first stage.

Partner Template
Partners are optional. If you do not want a partner at first, or are RPing a trainer who wasn't able to receive his first pokemon, you're free to not include this and get a Hoenn starter from Professor Carpin.
