The sigma virus is loose. Megaman and Zero are working to get the necessary items such that they can destroy it.
And as they work towards their goal, mavericks become more and more common. And so it's up to the less known hunters such as Klenzyr to stop them.

The year is 21XX.... Four of Sigma's attempts at world domination have failed thanks to the efforts of Megaman X and Zero. A few months later, he would try to conquer the world yet again. While X and Zero set out to get parts for a rocket and laser to keep the space colony Eurasia from crashing into earth, the Maverick Hunters that stayed behind were still doing their jobs......

Alissa woke up after a long nap. She had just gotten back from taking down a large Maverick in town square the night before. She looked at the time. It read 8:30 AM. "Well, I'd better get up." She said to herself. "Don't wanna be roused awake if a Maverick is detected." She got out of her capsule and went to go eat breakfast in the mess hall.

Klenzyr wasn't in the hall for breakfast. No, he spent his mornings in the training center, where battles with known mavericks were simulated through a virtual reality machine. The Maverick Hunter was hooked up to a large machine with a screen displaying exactly what he was seeing only just next to him.
And what was he seeing? The Maverick Hunter was seeing a red reptilian monster, a former maverick hunter - turned traitor. Magma Dragoon. It wasn't the original, of course, but the simulation copied his tactics, his abilities, even his personality so well that it may as well have been. The dragon grinned his soulless grin as he took a very familiar stance. The Hadouken.
Klenzyr was ready, of course; the reploid rapidly dodged to the side before shooting a barrage of beams at the dragon-reploid. The damage done was minimal, but he had known what he was doing when he chose his blaster. The Dragon rushed up to him with a fist readied with a fiery aura engulfing it, though again it was a simple task to dodge to the side. This time, Klensyr did not shoot a barrage of beams; instead, he took careful aim at the Maverick - even at point blank, he could miss. A tiny, almost unnoticeable purple dot appeared on Magma Dragoon, signifying the area that Klensyr would hit. The Reploid grinned as he pulled the trigger.
And immediately, that once-purple dot became black before disappearing altogether. In it's place was all but air. Not skin, nor any of the Maverick's insides. Just air.
And with that, Magma Dragoon fell to the floor, and the simulation was over.

Klensyr's 'kill shot' is a rather strange beam; it takes the form of a laser that pierces through any material it comes into contact with for 3 meters, replacing what substance was once there with only air. This attack would be useless to most reploids; there could be millions of holes in the body of a Maverick and it wouldn't mind. What made it work for Klensyr was his aim; though the kill shot would do nothing if it's user did not know how to use it, one precise shot could easily destroy vital wiring and mechanisms within a reploid. Any reploid. All Klensyr needed was a clear shot.

The Maverick Hunter opened his eyes and stepped out of the training center, now that the simulation was finished. He looked at the clock; 8:33. It was probably time that the reploid got some food; he hadn't eaten in a long time.
Not that he needed to; it wasn't like he was a human.

Alissa sat down in the mess hall and ate her breakfast, which consisted of some hamburgers, a can of soda, and some other stuff to get her going. She sat with some fellow maverick hunters from her regiment, and they talked during the meal. "So did you see that guy that was practicing in the training room a few minutes ago?" One asked. "Yeah, he was pretty good." Another replied. Alissa hadn't met the guy they were talking about, as she was sometimes sent on missions by herself. "I hear he's a reploid and not a human like Alissa." another added.

Alissa now really wanted to meet this hunter. Having heard about him for such a while now, she wanted to see what he was made of.

Klensyr entered the mess hall, unaware of the stares that a few hunters gave him. He came to a small human that sat behind a glass pane and said "The usual." Immediately a small mesh of dark brown unidentifiable foodstuff was placed onto a tray and handed to the Reploid. He had no idea what it was, and most people stayed away from the food, but he had a rather strange liking for it. He thanked the server and moved over to a non-regimented table.
Klensyr, still a new member of the maverick hunter forces, was not yet placed into a regiment and thus ate with other recruits. He sat down and started eating, ignoring the stares of his fellow teammates as he chowed down on the food.
"How the hell do you eat that crap?" A blonde human in casual clothing asked incredulously. Klensyr didn't bother replying.
"Klensyr, I've got a message for you." The reploid looked up and at a green-armored reploid with a sword not dissimilar from the famed Zero's one. Gale, he was called. He was the unofficial leader of non-regimented reploids, or of "Regiment 0" as they liked to call it. "You're to join regiment 9A effective now."
"Now?" Klensyr was surprised; he wasn't expecting to be sent to a regiment for at least another month, and he hadn't been given any prior notice.
"Yeah, now. The guys there requested you specifically." He nodded before getting up, leaving his food unfinished and walking over to the table of Regiment 9A.

Before anything more is said, the regiment system should be explained; there are 9 official regiments, each one subdivided into three mini-regiments. A means attack - these guys are sent in to take down mavericks and other threats to the world. X is a member of Regiment 4A. B means defense - these guys defend the base and areas with humans when necessary. Zero is a famous Maverick hunter that is in regiment 4B, though with what's going on he usually attacks Mavericks more often than defend people. Finally, C means intelligence; these people don't get their hands dirty, instead gathering intel on Mavericks and creating armor upgrades for members of A and B members. Alia, who is known for being X and Zero's intel provider, is a member of regiment 4C.
