There were a lot of people here. The guild was loud, busy, a bit cramped, and great. Even next to the door for the Guildmaster's Quarters wasn't safe from the sound of people going about their day, it was nice if a little awkward. Arlo was nervous, to say the least. He wasn't particularly good at talking to people if he couldn't say what he wanted, and just leave he decided, plus folks with positions of power have quite the intimidating factor as is.
Never the less, even if Arlo was nervous and his instincts were telling him to turn around and run back to the forest he wasn't about to listen. With a couple deep breaths, he stopped the shaking in his hand and confidently knocked on the door a little too hard. Flinching slightly upon realising what he'd just done he took a couple steps back away from the door; secretly hoping the room was empty and he could just leave without actually talking to the Guildmaster.

| Arlo was wordless. He wasn't exactly prepared for this situation, to begin with, and now here he was with Maxie and he just sat there. Nervous, lost for words. Not that we didn't want to say anything. He just felt that if he opened his mouth he'd ruin the moment. So he sat there and watched as Faye poised themself over the paper...
A few thoughts did glance through Arlo's mind, like if it were possible to leave the Guild. He kinda figured it was possible, but the sudden concern over potentially signing his life over made him hesitate. "So long as we're not signing up for life, and can leave the guild if we want. Work your magic."

| Faye would find no hint of hesitation in Maxie. The mawile's whole life had been building up to this exact moment—the moment that pen met paper and inscribed in ink Maxie's name, officially committing her to the explorer's guild. A life of adventure laid ahead of her now. Adventure, rewards, stories she could later tell to young children like had been told to her. They'd be good stories, too. Exciting, interesting stories—she was sure Arlo would make sure of that fact, intentionally or not.
Speaking of, the emolga suddenly spoke up, and what he said gave Maxie pause. It was almost as if he was questioning whether or not one could leave the guild. Well, of course, you could leave, but why would you? Becoming a guild member and living the life of an explorer was Maxie's one true goal. She had just completed the first half and had only to live out an adventurous life left to do. She never considered what would come after that; never considered leaving the guild at any point. And now that she was, she didn't think she ever would. She had every intention of working at the guild until she truly couldn't anymore.
"Of course, you can leave whenever you like. Not that you'll want to," she said in a relatively quiet voice directed at Arlo. Every story she had read or heard had been full of excitement and intrigue—danger, too, but that was why it was so exciting! She was sure that after a truly thrilling mission Arlo would see how she does. Granted, Maxie may carry a rather romanticised view of the explorer's life.

| Faye looked up from the paper, her gaze shifting to the Emolga who was wishing that this wasn't some kind of a lifetime of servitude deal. She couldn't help but laugh softly. Well, that certainly was one worry a Pokémon could have. "Worry not, dearie. You can of course leave at any moment," she smiled before turning back to the book. She finalized signing up the names and put her quill pen on its small holder on the desk, leaving the book open for the ink to dry.
"There we go, all done," the Meganium looked up, her eyes going from Arlo to Maxie, "Now, the Guild also gives all new teams some basic starting supplies," she continued, moving away from the book and to the closet at the back of the room. Faye used one of her vines to open it, but what with standing in front of the closet, nothing really could be seen despite the door being open. Quickly, her vines picked a bag for both of the Pokémon, as well as some badges and maps she put in them…
And then she stopped, looking at the box full of colorful ribbons. Faye hesitated for a moment before getting a darker blue and a magenta ribbon from it, putting them into the bags as well. With that she was done, closing the closet door and turning around, her vines offering the bags to the newest additions to the Guild. "Here, sweeties: your own Guild bags. I put your badges and maps inside already – and there's a little extra surprise to both of you, from me."

| Gingerly Arlo took the bag from Faye, and placed it in front of himself. "Thank you Faye, I was worried this would be a whole thing, but we're already signed up and its been less than a few minutes." He spoke as he dug through his new bag. He soon found the ribbon inside and lit up. Though unsure of what to do with it, he tried wrapping it around one of his ears, then one of his arms, and finally settles on just draping it over his shoulders until he could find some better way to display it.
"So we're a part of the guild... I guess we just go do stuff now. Like look at that notice board we saw on our way in, or check out our rooms?" The latter statement was directed to Maxie as more a question than anything because he didn't want to be pushing about actually getting one. Though its nice to spend some nights out in the wild, a warm place to sleep never put a damper on anyone's mood; and he wanted to get Maxie's thought on what to do next.

| Maxie accepted the bag eagerly. but withheld the urge to dig through the bag immediately. "Thank you very much, Guildmaster!" She turned to see Arlo trying to find a place to wear a ribbon—apparently, it was from the bag. She took a quick peek into her own bag and saw a ribbon of her own; magenta in colour. She also spotted the guild badge, which spiked her excitement once again.
"Yes! Let's go do that—both of those things! We're explorer's now! We're going to be great!" Maxie grabbed her companion—her new teammate—and pulled him with her as she practically bounced to the door. She stopped at the doorway and turned to face Faye. "Thank you so very much once more! We'll do our best and make you proud!"

| Both Arlo and Maxie already dashed to the door, so excited over everything. Of course Faye felt good, a gentle smile still on her lips. Seemed like the two couldn't even wait – not even for her to show them their room! But that was just fine. Before the Pokémon managed to rush out of the door, she grabbed some paper from her desk drawer and took a step closer. "Before you leave, dearies… I'll write you the number of your room so you know where to look. It might be a bit difficult to find it otherwise," the Meganium chuckled as she started to write away.
"The room is mostly empty save for some bedding material you can use to make some beds for yourself. You can of course decorate it, if you wish," she continued, handing over the little piece of paper to the two with one of her vines when she was ready. Surely they would be able to find it on their own… Or with the help of some other Guild members who knew they layout better. "If your team ever grows, we will assign you a bigger room."
((I think you won't need Faye after this, so feel free to just leave and not wait for my replies anymore! Thank you for the thread.))

| With Maxie's confirmation to go look at their room Arlo started to put his bag over his shoulder to get ready. "Okay, sure, seems like the next logical step to ta-" but he was cut off as she suddenly yanked him off of his chair and started carrying him away, him squeaking a little in surprise.
His attention then turned to Faye, who was trying to hand them their room number. He gently reached out and took it, still being help by Maxie. "I'm sure we'll find it no problem. Thanks for your time Faye."
His attention then turned back to Maxie, and he made a quick motion with his one arm that wasn't being pinned to his side for her to head off in the direction of the rooms. "Onward, to ADVENTURE!!!"
