A starlit meeting

It was late at night in Rainfront Town.  Most Pokémon had turned in for the day, leaving the warm air quiet and serene, but there were two that still lingered outside...  Near a row of houses built on a small ridge overlooking the road, at the top of a flight of stone stairs, A Skitty and a Delcatty were lying together on a grassy lawn.  The Delcatty was lost in thought as she gazed at the night sky...  It seemed full of even more glittering stars than normal since the moon was only a dim crescent.  The sight only made things more relaxing.  The Skitty had even nodded off a while ago, curled up as she was against the Delcatty's side...

The larger Pokémon sighed quietly as she glanced at her sleeping younger sister.  She wished they could have spent more time talking, but it couldn't be helped.  Darcy had just finished the long trip to Rainfront Town today, so of course she was tired.  It was too bad that she'd have to leave in the morning, though...  As a guildmember, the Skitty had taken a job to escort someone from Rainfront to Grassveil, and her client didn't want to spend their last night in Rainfront Town at their own home, for one reason or another.  That was why they'd arranged to spend the night here.  It was a shame, but the Delcatty wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to leave as soon as they could...

...Unless they could be convinced to stick around for just a while longer.  Who were they, again?  A Kecleon, Darcy had said..?  Well, whoever they were, the Delcatty wondered when they would arrive.  Gathering their belongings didn't seem like it should have taken this long...

Yooka did not dream and if she did, she couldn't recall it. She woke up feeling wrapped up like a present. She was curled up into a ball but couldn't unfurl. W-what is this? Was I captured? No I don't think the two would do that to me. She didn't panic as she just listened to her surroundings.

It took a bit of straining but she could hear what seemed to be laughter from another room. Mrrr... Did they play a prank on me while I was asleep? No, I don't sleep that heavily, I think... I must've moved in my sleep. Wait... when did I get a blanket?

She wiggled a bit but couldnt get a feel for it. however, her tail felt the floor from the outside. At this moment she not only had the idea to try and find where the blanket is tied, but she heard a door open. She stopped her attempt at an escape and went limp, curling her tail again. Mrrr... At least whatever I was on was soft. a pillow perhaps? "mrrr..." She couldn't stop herself from making a small 'meep'. If they didn't see her, they probably did then. I probably look weird. Yooka sighed at the thought.

Eventually, the two sisters exhausted all of their most interesting stories, and they simply spent a moment in silence, enjoying one another's company...  Darcy nuzzled her face against her sister's plushy collar of purple fur and sighed with contentment.  She had missed spending time together like this...  Maybe she should take missions in Rainfront Town more often...

But as much as she enjoyed it, the moment couldn't last forever.  "Well...  I think it's late enough to check on your client, Darce.  She's probably awake by now," Hazel said, climbing out of bed and languidly stretching out her body.

Darcy followed suit, hopping out of bed and doing her own morning stretches with an excited smile on her face.  "Yeah!  We're going to the park today, right?  Do you think she'll want to come too?"

"Who knows?  She seems like the mysterious sort.  But maybe she wouldn't mind..."  With an amused smile, Hazel shouldered the door open and the two of them entered the house's main room...

Darcy couldn't spot where Yooka was laying at first, but a quiet peep from the other side of the room quickly caught the Skitty's attention.  She trotted a little closer...  Yooka sure seemed comfortable, all wrapped up in her blanket like that.  But she was facing the wall and Darcy couldn't quite tell if she was awake or not.  "Yooka...  It's morning, ma'am..." Darcy said, gently prodding the Kecleon with a forepaw...

It took a couple seconds after making the noise did she hear the skitty mention the word morning, the skitty even teased Yooka's back with a paw... Well, yea... I figured. "Ay..." She moaned... and decided to try again, but still found it weirdly hard to even move, let alone turn herself. How did I manage to even do this...? "uh... heh. I could use some help..." She almost murmured. She tried to stretch outward but the fabric of the blanket was somehow pretty tough. She decided to relax and let the skitty get her out, if she didn't walk away already. Yooka's tail also twitched twice when she had to ask for help, she doesn't quite like the feeling of being useless and she didn't like being teased. However she sighed and sucked it up.

Darcy pulled her paw away and smiled as Yooka spoke up...  Then the Kecleon wiggled a little beneath her blanket and asked for help, and it took Darcy a moment to piece together just what she was being asked to do.

"Hazelll, did you do something weird while I was sleeping..?" Darcy said, casting her sister a suspicious glance, to which the Delcatty just snickered and shook her head.

"I know I don't have the best track record, but I'm as surprised as you are about this.  I promise.  You just must've been...  Very, very exhausted, Yooka," she said while laying down on a cushion.

"No kidding..." Darcy said, returning her gaze to Yooka and cracking a smile again.  Getting herself so thoroughly tied up was almost impressive, the Skitty thought as she stepped closer and examined the blanket.  "Umm...  Claws aren't very good for this kind of thing.  But I'll do my best..."

She put both of her forepaws up on Yooka's side and began feeling around in the folds of the blanket for a knot to undo, or anything like that, but she didn't have much luck...  The fabric seemed most wrinkled up in the area around Yooka's belly, so she climbed over the Kecleon and inspected the blanket from the other side.  Then she dug her paws into the clumped up blanket around Yooka's stomach, and after a good deal of fumbling she finally managed to pull a knot loose and free Yooka enough for her to move around a little, perhaps enough to squirm out altogether.

"There!  Is that good?" Darcy said, tilting her head and smiling hopefully.  "I'm sorry about that, ma'am.  U-um, would you like something to eat?  We were...  Well, my sister and I were thinking of going to the park after breakfast, if you'd like to come.  But just let me know as soon as you want to start our trip to Grassveil..."

Feeling the skitty search just teased her more. Then after a few moments she felt the skitty go over her. She let out a little 'meep'ish huff from that. After a few more seconds the fabric went loose. Yooka almost instantly shoved the blanket off her as she quickly got up, but she struggled with it in her arms for a few seconds.

"Well I officially don't like blankets... but nice to know it wasn't... uh, wait... You said park?" She looked at the Delcatty with fervent 'determination' and kid-like excitement. "Did you by any chance see a small little Noibat flying around there at night? It's been a few, maybe 7 or 8 years since I've seen my ...friend..." She slowed down as she said the word friend. I completely forgot to tell him I was leaving... whatever happened to him?

She looked between the two pokemon then asked in a more mild manner. "When were you leaving? now?? oh, and I don't mind waiting a few days if you yourself dont feel ready. I only need a few of the bigger apples... It's all I need. and also..." She looked at the Delcatty with a rather unneeded serious face. "thanks." she tilted towards where she slept.
after about a minute she fixed the blanket and was resting on the average pillow. Just staring at the ceiling.

"No trouble," Hazel said, smiling and standing up again.  "I don't think I've seen your friend before, but sure, we may as well leave now.  We could bring some food and make a picnic out of it.  That sounds nice.  Want to help me pack, Darce?"

"Yeah!  Definitely!" Darcy said with a huge smile on her face as she bounded back towards the center of the room.  The day had gotten off to such a fantastic start...  First hearing that she'd get to stay in Rainfront for a while longer, and now that she would be going on a picnic with her big sister...  She was so cheerful and excited that she got caught up in chasing her own tail for a moment, giggling as she scampered in circles across the wooden floor.  Chasing their own tails was something that most Skitty only did as children, but...  She was feeling so gleeful that she just couldn't bring herself to worry about that at the moment, even if they had a guest.

Still smiling, Darcy skidded to a stop as their guest crossed her mind.  The Skitty dizzily stumbled up to her client and took a seat, her fluffy tail sweeping back and forth like a broom...  Yooka was the one she owed all of this to, for being so nice and considerate!  "U-um, thank you so much, ma'am.  Getting to stay with Hazel for a little longer has been a really great surprise," Darcy said while gazing up at Yooka with starry eyes.  "I'll be the best guide ever on the way back!  I promise!  And I'll help you look for your friend if you need it, too!  Do they still live around here?"

The skitty surprised darcy with saying thanks and something about her sister. Yooka sat up as the skitty continued saying she'd be a better guide on the way to grassveil, she even mentioned helping find her friend and if he's still around here. Yooka couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh, no. I'm sure he's still at Aileron Village. He comes to visit this town with his parents when they are looking for some things unique found in this town. I wondered why they never just moved here... I could only think one of them was a member of a guild at the guild in Aileron. hmm... actually, I never asked where Aileron was." she laid back down on the pillow. "hmm. I guess I never thought about it before randomly leaving town. well I never actually left town, I knew I couldn't handle the outside by myself, that's why I sent that letter...

ah, now that I think about it, why didn't the letters I send to him in Aileron the year I left ever go through?" She paused realizing she was talking out loud. "uh... Don't worry about it. I'll look into it on my own. Although, most pokemon I talked to during my time working never knew about the existance of Aileron... the few that did said it's very high up and full of flying pokemon but never where or how to get there. They end up either confused or laughing. I don't care much about their reactions, its the little info I wanted." She closed her eyes and turned her body towards the ceiling again.

She was smirking. "If I can surprise him by showing up at the village by myself. I wonder what he'd say."

Darcy smiled and nodded at Yooka's explanation.  It was sweet that those two were such good friends even though they lived so far apart.  "Ohhh, the Aileron guild!  I've heard that our guild works with them sometimes!" she said.  "I'm sure that someone back at home will be able to give you directions.  The Guildmaster will definitely know how to get there if no one else does."

The Skitty had heard stories of the two guilds working together, but she herself was still just a novice guildmember...  She'd never been asked to help with anything important enough to span both guilds.  Still, she hoped that she could someday meet one of the Flying-type Pokemon that Aileron was known for.  She wanted to know all about their village, and what it was like up there...  Maybe Yooka could introduce her to her friend if they ever had the chance!

"It would be really nice to go there someday..." Darcy said as she paced over to her sister and set about helping her pack.  "My best friend is going to grow wings when she evolves.  Um...  I don't know if she'll be big and strong enough for it or not, but...  I daydream about flying there together sometimes.  What are Noibat like?  Could your friend carry you too?"

Hearing the skitty mention the two guilds work together from time to time caused her to jolt to her feet. However, that caused a shock in her system making her to cringe. She stared at the skitty as it walked over to the Delcatty, If that's the case then why dont we just- oh wait Darcy doesn't see her sister often. mmm... meh, I can still wait.

Yooka couldn't do much to prepare. She just checked her belongings and continued listening to the skitty. She mentioned her own friend but what caught her attention more was if Yooka's friend could carry her. It's been so long... "If he's the same as ever then no. He was only able to glide while holding me... actually, he more of... struggles than actually glides. Im not sure about now though... as for what he's like... I never paid attention to that kind of detail. I guess he could be a bit 'noisy' heheh... that wasnt just a joke. he really is noisy, just think the opposite of me in vertually every way except we both like weird things." Yooka shrugged while giving a small chuckle.

Darcy couldn't help but grin at Yooka's description of her friend.  He sounded like a fun Pokémon to be around.  "Well...  I hope you two get to see each other soon!  If there's ever anything I can do to help please just let me know.  I'd really like to meet him someday."

Darcy finished folding up a blanket and her sister packed it away in a basket along with all of the food she had picked out.  "Okay.  I think we're ready to go," the Delcatty said, stretching out her body and yawning.  "Yooka, if it's alright, do you think you could carry this for us..?  Darce and I don't have any hands, so we'd have to use our mouths.  I'd like to be able to chat on our way to the park though, if that's okay..."

Darcy gave Yooka an apologetic glance.  "Um...  Sorry.  Having four legs makes this stuff hard.  That's part of why it's been so nice to have teammates at the guild..."  She stared at her paws and swished her tail for a moment, but then her eyes lit up again.  "Umm...  Do you know what team you're going to join when we get there, by the way?  I can introduce you to some!  There are lots of really good ones looking for members."

Yooka nodded in acknowledgement. Although she looked down at the her backpack on the floor with a rather stern face. It may not be as simple as getting there and he'd be right there. He's probably taken his parent's job as Guild Explorer by now... Perhaps that's where I'll find him. heh... She blinked and almost laughed at the end of the thought. "Ah! That's ri--" She was interrupted by the Delcatty announcing she'd finished packing.

Yooka stared at the Delcatty blankly, with her mouth open halfway through 'right', and a finger held up as if an idea happened... She snapped out of it when the Delcatty asked for assistance. Followed by the Skitty asking aswell. Depends on it's weight... I'm not as strong as Delcatty. but I don't really want to... "Meh, why not." She said as she was taking the pretty heavy basket. However, she was expecting it to be much heavier according to it's size. Geez, this thing may be about fifteen or twenty-five... mrrr... Can't tell. Doesn't matter, It's not as hard as I thought, just weird to hold.

Yooka went over to the door and decided to wait outside. However, She forgot her pack inside, but she was already outside. She shrugged, Meh, It's not like I'm leaving now anyway... but I do feel like I'm forgetting something. Yooka looked puzzled for a bit but couldn't quite remember what.

Darcy nodded and sprang to her feet as Yooka took the basket, and the trio of Pokemon headed outside into the refreshing morning air.  The sky was cloudy, and the temperature was a little cool, but not enough to bring Darcy or Hazel's spirits down...  It would only get warmer as the day wore on, after all!  Hazel led the way down the flight of steps and Darcy pranced alongside her, looking so cheerful that she might break into song.

"I'm sure you've been to this park before, Yooka.  It's the one on that tiny cliff that overlooks the beach," Hazel said as she reached the bottom of the stairs.  She paused for a moment, giving the Kecleon a sideways glance before continuing.  "And...  Are you sure you're okay with being out and about like this?  It...  Would be awkward if you bumped into any of your family members, don't you think?" she asked.  Meanwhile, Darcy just smiled and looked up at the other two Pokémon, feeling a little confused...  She hoped Hazel wasn't being too nosy again...

It was when Yooka registered someone was talking to her that she snapped out of it. The Delcatty and Skitty were already at the bottom of the stairs. Yooka re-adjusted the basket and hurried down the steps. She didn't quite listen to most of it. What? It be awkward if I bumped into who? uh... Laylee? "Uh... yea. It would be awkward if I bumped into him. However, I'm pretty sure he has more important things to do than be around where we're going... I'd rather just take a break for a bit, than deal with stuff... call me lazy, if you want." She caught up to the two but continued on slightly ahead.

Yooka tilted her head towards the ground, "I've had a whole lot of bad days--" Alot more than whatever good day I possibly had. Yooka tensed for a moment before looking up just in time to see three Pelipper fly by. Yooka held in a laugh, but it somewhat showed when she continued, letting out a very slight and brief laugh, "--but I tend not to care much about how a day went, if you are able to learn something you can probably use later on, if it were to happen again. Yooka finished what she was saying before she went quiet and sighed.

Yooka remembered the Guild the skitty was a part of. "Hey, how exactly do you feel about the guild Darcy? Seems you take it pretty casually. Nothing bothering you about it?" She leaned down closer to her while asking.
