Adrol Drake the Albino Snivy Adrol%20Transparent
Original Image made by kol98 on Deviantart.

» Name: Adrol Drake
» Sex: Male
» Gender: Male
» Species: #495 Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokemon
» Affiliation: Prince of Shyrsiire Meadowlands, a triangular piece of land surrounded by three dungeons and three untainted lands between them.
» Level: 5
» Energy: 19
» Ability: Contrary to popular belief, Overgrow sucks.
» Moves:
- Tackle (Level --)
- Leer (Level 4)
- Grassy Terrain (Egg Move)
-

» Natural Feats:
-His speed raises in the sunlight (because he's trying to run away from it)
-He can photosynthisize (and burn) by exposing his tail to sunlight
-When he is ill, his plant parts wilt and droop

» Personality: Adrol prides himself on being royalty, but he believes more in a code of knighthood and righteousness than a code of greed or power. He is extremely thoughtful and meditative when alone, and in fights he has a tendancy to be slower to action. When the situation demands action, he tries his best to only take the action that is required, and to reflect, but not regret, on those decisions later. He constantly looks for the right questions to ask. He believes that the world is both simple and complex. His mellow thoughtfulness may make him dreamy and bemused, but that ammount of intellectual reflection has backed him up with vast worldliness and wit.

» Likes:
Calm, Gentle Sunlight - Being of Albino genetics, Adrol cannot tolerate harsh, bright sunlight. He dislkes the concept of it even, as he feels that harsh brashness can do nothing but burn others in the wrong situations.

Solidarity - Of course, for a pokemon who relies on others to see, this trait is beyond important. He has learned over the years that no one pokemon can do everything alone; that every life relies on at least one other to reach a state of comfort.

Farm-Grown Food - While it is a luxury to have a farm in these lands, the kingdom Adrol hailed from was one of incredibly fertile land, so many farms were formed and food became one of their major exports. Since he lacked the ability of photosynthesis, he relied on the food of these farms for sustinence more than anyone else within the royalty of the Kingdom. He appreciates nothing more than a home-cooked meal.

Gentle Rain and Flowing Water - Both were very important landmarks that formed his entire kingdom, and both were also safe havens for him. The plants and trees near the rivers provided him with ample amounts of sufficient shade, and swimming in the water helped him cool off and relaxed him. The rainclouds blotted out the sun, making the terrain of his homeland navigable for him.

» Dislikes:
Harsh, Blinding Light - Many a time, the harsh sunlight wrought by the summer has made him meditate on quality of life. Does more of something ever make it better? What good is something when it benefits the few, and not the many? While sunlight may no longer be his primary example, the harsh light brings him under duress for a plethora of reasons.

Darkness - While he has no qualms with actual darkness, he does feel some anonymity towards darkness of the heart. He believes that true maturity comes through the concious decision to abandon innocence. He feels that those who cannot do this are still children of mind, and the choice to remain that way can be selfish and misguided, depending on he adamancy of the pokemon's decisions.

Being Without his Hat - He really likes his hat. Its name is Martin Franco, Duke of Cerebellum. Together, he and the Duke strive to live a life of "neochivalry" and handsomness.

Living la Vida Loca - Adrol wants nothing more than a peaceful life wherever he can find it. Of course, Adrol's definition of "peace" often varies due to his search for the true meaning of the word. Peace, to him anyways, is not so much of an actual state of peace as it is reaching a state of calm in a place where there is trouble and turmoil.

» History:
In a land ruled by a host of grass-type regime, Adrol was the first in a great many generations of candidates for royalty that suffered from albinism. It was not as common occurrence in the history of the royals, but it was a documented occurrence and at least one popular King had ascended to power in the past, so it was an accepted thing. This meant, however, that Adrol was made to live a life within the walls of castles, manors, and shines. He was also very sickly, due to his inability to photosynthesize (a trait that his other fellow candidates for monarchy did not suffer from). He was fortunate to have been born into the veritable fertile crescent that was Shyriire Meadowlands, however, as the land was fed by dual rivers and the kingdom's most profitable export was farm-grown food. This nutrient-rich fare allowed Adrol to shake his sickly fargility and achieve a state of health. As he grew, this dependence on the common mon humbled the white snake boy, and filled him with a sense of gratitude to the common laborer.

Rarely was Prince Adrol allowed the luxury of escaping the walls that confined him. Only when the sun was covered by clouds or when gentle rains swept the Meadowlands could he get out into the kingdom. Due to this ample time for thinking, Adrol developed a very thoughtful nature, utilizing his mind more than most to imagine what lay beyond the walls he was confined to. Everything he was taught he met with a question, everything he saw he meditated upon. Surprisingly, this life of confinement also caused him to become much more enlightened to the plight of the common mon, as he was often exposed to the ones who were hired to work in the royal halls and houses. He grew very much attached to many mons within the staff. It was around this time that he discovered the Dimensional Scream, and he soon had a small entourage of common mon that he connected with and relied on for use of the Scream in order to provide him with the occasional (but very rare) foresight that he needed to further supplement his candidacy. He would discuss visions with anyone who would actively participate for hours, sometimes even forgoing sleep to talk about such things.

Due to the scream and his wisdom, Prince Adrol quickly won a reputation as a "prophet" of sorts, and his connections to the common mon made him a fan favorite in the community that was once considered the peasantry. Adrol's status among the other candidates rose even higher as his crusade for the commons continued, and with the added push of the Dimensional Scream he outshone his disability and gained a full, official Prince title and was set almost perfectly in line for the throne, with both a strong base of nay-sayers and a determined base of fans. This proved to be a great stress to the Snivy, however, as he soon fell into a self-fulfilling prophecy in which he believed that it was his job to have the visions, and the fact that they were so incredibly few and far led him to feel as if he were failing his job and letting the common mons down.

While addressing his critics one day, Adrol was sought out by a small group of pokemon interested in his "prophetic talents." They were foreigners, led by two friends: Mona-Solluxia the Braixen and Vermeer the Eevee. Vermeer the Eevee claimed to have frighteningly accurate dreams of new and transforming Mystery Dungeons, and Mona was the daughter of an obscure yet talented explorer named Markus Rex Delphox that had visited Shyrsiire back before Adrol had achieved Princedom. Markus Rex had been an extremely helpful ally back in the day, and had helped document a mystery dungeon that had opened up in the north and solidified the triangular borders. Adrol was intrigued by Mona's claims of a "Final Mystery Dungeon" and invited her into the kingdom. This was once again a widely disputed political move, as she was both the daughter of an ally and a foreigner, though the Foxtrot Plains that she hailed from were not known as a source of violence. For a month, Adrol deliberated with them, and reached the conclusion that if he could become close enough to them that he could achieve Dimensional Screams in their presence, than they could be considered worthy allies and that he would leave on a Pilgrimage of Passage (a ritual that could be optionally observed by potential royalty in order to better their chances of rising to power) and assist them in their search.

Months later, Mona was carrying Adrol to a place of shade after the two of them got caught in a particularly sunny noontime, and Adrol achieved a Dimentional Scream that featured Mona's father and another cryptic hint about the fabled "Final Mystery Dungeon." This convinced Adrol, and - true to his word - he left with them on a Pilgrimage in order to provide them with assistance despite the overwhelming rarity and briefness of what he saw. While traveling, he and Vermeer combined their abilities in order to scope out and more thoroughly research the Mystery Dungeons they traveled in and around. They tried to collect a general scope of the functions and causes of the Mystery Dungeons, but it seemed the harder they searched the less things made sense. The rules seemed to change just by mere observation. While his two companions became frustrated by this, Adrol found it simply fascinating. He found comfort in letting go, further solidifying him in his passiveness. He would often discuss this with his comrades, but they seemed to engulfed in their duress to fully comprehend it. During this time, Adrol looked back on the duration of his candidacy and became aware of how he had been using his power so selfishly as a means to an end. He felt ashamed when he recalled how he had been using a power that was at it's core a power for and by the people to fulfill the idea of a role of power, rather than using it to benefit the people for the people's sake. As his time with Mona and Vermeer dwindled, he reflected endlessly on this. As he reflect, he grew more and more humbled.

These trials of adventure with Mona and Vermeer and company drew to an end after a great deal of travels, and Adrol became separated from them at a crossroads the Mona and Vermeer had been to before. He told them that he could navigate back on his own, that he would be able to find his place as he knew it so well. This was far from the truth, but also not far. He no longer felt like he had lived his pilgrimage out to the fullest, and planned to continue wandering. Without the guidance of mons with sight, Adrol could not navigate well due to poor eyesight. This was the way he had wanted things. He did his best to follow a road leading to a road that he found led to a guild, and during that time he unknowingly crossed what he later learned to be a threshold of no return. Now stranded, Adrol began to wander in lands entirely foreign to him, yet he did not abandon what he held firmest to for dismay. Instead, he began to apply them in full to his life in the new lands since he was, after all, still technically on a royal pilgrimage and was held to acting with conduct that would be fitting of his stature and represent his homeland well.

» Other:
He's Albino, so he lacks the pigment that allows his chloroplasts to function. If he were to be dyed with natural pigments from actual leaves, he would have some photosynthesis abilities restored to him temporarily, or at least until the chlorophyll wears away. This would also restore the function of his natural feats for as long as the dye persists. He also has the Dimensional Scream, which he once relied on for the political edge but now hardly gives it a second thought. He thinks of it as a mark f a special relationship with another Mon. He also wears a khaki-colored Fedora with an elongated brim and a sage green ribbon trim, no effect of course. It is accented by a Braviary feather as a symbol of valiance and integrity.
