Bambi was back at the serene pond that she had previously met a rather rambunctious Dratini. After quite the adventure in the Pricklemist Forest, the young Mincinno had been relieved to be back from exploding. However, now she was rather on the bored side than tired.
Bambi felt herself sigh irritably at her lack of enjoyment. It may have been difficult to be at the forest, but at least it was fun to be around all of those Pokemon, even if she was sort of nervous at first. Now, though, she was all by herself, and that was boring. She could always go back to her home with her mother, but that wouldn't be any less boring.
Feeling frustrated, the young Pokemon wagged her tail ferociously before beginning to rub her forehead with her paws as she normally did when she felt that way. Bambi needed something new, an experience that would get her blood flowing.
Thinking back on her previous recent experiences she knew exactly what she needed: a battle.

| Hidon shook his head, starting to push himself back up and onto his feet again. However, what he wasn't expecting was for four paws to press down firmly onto his back, supported rather strongly by gravity. His body was pressed down heavily against the ground beneath him once again. And he quickly realized what was going on. He had been knocked down and Bambi was already pressing down on top of him for the pin. He soon felt her full weight press down as she sat on him and began to count. No...no, he couldn't let this happen! This little Minccino was already easily younger than him, less experienced and everything! If he lost a sparring battle to her, it'd be one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to him!
He growled, trying to squirm his way out from underneath Bambi's weight. Thankfully, his opponent was lighter in weight than himself, making her slightly easier to deal with. However, when she peered over his head, meeting his gaze with yet another Baby-Doll Eyes, he hesitated. Did he really want to be so rough with a Pokémon this adorable and young? Maybe he should just stay down...maybe he could just let her win this one time...?
But when the count of "four" met his ears, he shook his head. No, he couldn't lower his pride like that! At least not this easily! He suddenly shut his eyes, trying desperately to avert his attention from that adorable look that was constantly putting him at a disadvantage. Instead, he clenched one of his fists, and readied himself to throw his elbow up, hopefully knocking the Minccino off of him.
...But by the time he was about to swing his arm up, one more word pierced the air.
"Five!" came the count from the Pokémon on his back.
His arm stopped before he could even get a chance to swing it. He could hardly believe it. He'd really actually just let himself lose by getting lost in those adorable eyes of hers....

| Bambi could feel the lizard try to shake around underneath, but she was very careful to make sure she didn't speed up the counting. After all, she would want Hidon to do the same if she were in his place. She was also counting in the first place to make sure he knew that she was playing fair, and not just claiming that she won out of hot air.
He had stopped a little when her Baby-Doll Eyes once again took affect, but once she counted to four, he tried to resist them. It was clear that he was going to try to hit her off of him, but if was too late. "Five!" she squeaked, half expecting the impact of an elbow or a fist to hit her chin or face, but nothing came.
Bambi braved a glance from one of her eyes, and soon realized he wasn't fighting anymore. Bambi blinked, hopped off the lizard and walked to the front of the lizard. He did say five seconds, right? Did she count correctly? Either way, she did sit on him for five seconds, but did she do it fairly?
Well, she only had three moves to use, and one of them hurt her more than helped when dealing with his fire attacks. He could utilize all of his moves, even though he inevitably only used two. The only reason she won, she reasoned, was that they both underestimated her and overestimated him. If they had equal ferocity, then he'd clearly have this.
In the end, Hidon's cockiness seemed to be his undoing.
But whatever. A win's a win, and Bambi loved winning. Actually, she loved it a little too much. "Ha ha!" Bambi laughed, pointing her paw out in mockery of the Charmander. Clearly, this would be out of character for her in any other situation, but it was rather common when it came to winning. Bambi began dancing around in an immature, and rude manner. "I won, I won! You lost, and I won!"
Bambi continued dancing for minutes until she realized just how mean she was being to him. After all, she wouldn't have won if it weren't for his help. Even so, her mother always told her to be nicer to people regardless of whether you win or lose. Bambi wasn't very good at being a nice winner or loser, so it was something she tried to practice.
Bambi's ears drooped shamefully as she walked over to him. "You did a good job," she said unapologetic of her recent actions. "You're a really tough fighter, and you have neat moves! I thought I was going to lose. Thanks! Wanna take a break and battle again?"
This was so much fun! Now she wanted to try out a real battle.

| Hidon felt the weight of the small Pokémon come off of his back. A moment later, he saw those paws press down onto the earth right in front of his face. He looked up, seeing Bambi standing over his defeated form. For a moment, the two just seemed to stay there in silence, looking at each other. But of course, that silence did not last very long. A moment later, he saw a paw get pointed directly at him, preceded by a laugh he had heard before. He felt his face heat up slightly as a blush appeared. The mockery and ridiculous dancing and chanting was embarrassing to fall victim to. Especially considering that the very Pokémon that he'd been beaten by had never even been in a real battle before! No defeat could have possibly been this humiliating unless the other participant was actively trying to humiliate him in front of a crowd. How could he have let this happen!? Well...at least there was nobody around to see it, right?
Hidon was still relatively unharmed from the battle, although he did now have a slightly sore back. As such, he was able to push himself back upright, falling into a seated position, looing at the Minccino as she danced in front of him, not even a foot away from where his jaw had been planed in the dirt. As he watched, he felt his anger inside of him grow. Not even a child could get away with making fun of him and dragging his pride through the dirt! he'd just have to immediately demand a rematch and beat her this time! Of course, he still had to go easy on her, since he didn't want to actually hurt her, but...
Then, the Minccino's ears seemed to droop slightly and she approached him, almost as if she were ashamed of how she'd just acted. Taken slightly aback by the sudden change in mood, Hidon wasn't sure how to react immediately. "Uh...y-yeah, thanks," Hidon murmured in a confused tone after a few seconds of stunned silence. Suddenly, he felt his anger ebb away as he watched her demeanor. He did notice that she didn't truly seem a bit sorry, but what did he care? He was still a showoff himself, so he could hardly blame her for celebrating like that. So for now, he decided to just drop it.
The Charmander allowed a smirk to form on his face. "Yeah...you bet. I can't take a loss lying down. I've gotta beat you next time, so we can be even."

| "Yay!" Bambi cheered with a fist pumped into the air. "Okay, I won last time, so you can go first again whenever you're ready." Bambi sat on her bum, ready to battle, but tried to be sensitive to the possibility that he wasn't. Even if he needed a break, it wasn't like it wouldn't do her any good anyway. That was quite tough, and had he put up more of a fight, then she might not have won so easily.
"So, Hidon," Bambi said, recalling his introduction earlier. "You said something about being a leader of a team at the guild or something. So, you've been at the guild before?" Bambi's face flushed a little at her own question. What a stupid thing to say, of course he'd been there! "Sorry. What I meant to say was what's it like?" Bambi was eager to fight, but she had her own share of questions to ask if the Charmander was willing to answer.

| Hidon looked down at the Minccino with an inquisitive expression. What...was she doing right now? If she was ready to start, then shouldn't she be standing up and getting ready for his attack? Especially since she had offered to let him make the first move again, anytime he was ready to. He wanted to initiate the battle right there and then, looking to even out the score immediately. But at the same time, he didn't want to just attack an opponent that didn't really look like she was truly ready to start. Well, maybe if he would just warn her of his move ahead of time and announce when he was going to attack, she would quickly ready herself more?
He opened his mouth to do just that, but stopped when Bambi actually said something first. This took him momentarily by surprise, and he didn't say anything. However, after he recovered, he figured it couldn't hurt to answer her questions. Besides...this made him look like the senior again. With that, he grinned slightly and struck his overconfident pose once more, claws at his waist and chest out. "yeah, I'm leading Team Rising right now. The Guild, though...well, it's nothing that spectacular, honestly. It's more or less just a place for members to crash. Apparently, almost everyone applies can get in. At least, I didn't notice anything that hard when I applied to make my team." he then chuckled at that. "Or maybe I was just that good."
