Hidon stretched his arms out and opened his mouth wide, letting a rather loud yawn escape his mouth. Today was a somewhat slow day. Usually, he would be out and about in dungeons, crawling through them in an attempt to scour for some items for his team to use as well as getting in some extra training against feral and wild Pokémon within them. But today, for some reason, Hidon wasn't particularly feeling up to it. His team was finally supposed to go on its first outing soon, and he couldn't be more excited for it. And so, he had decided to wait on that and have some fun somewhere in town in the meantime. In his mind, he had earned it with all of the struggles he'd been going through the past few days. He might have gotten defeated a lot in battles, but he was still stronger than he used to be. On top of that, he'd actually come out of a lot of tight spots victorious as well. So as far as he was concerned, he'd earned a day o relaxation.
Besides, who knows? He might end up coming across somebody strong willing to battle with him here in the town. Most of the residents didn't particularly care about getting stronger since they could simply file requests with the Guild. And even fewer were probably willing to spar with him, as they were often busy with this and that around town. Still, maybe he could get lucky today. After all, for all he knew, he could find a strong Pokémon to consider his rival.
With that thought on his mind, Hidon continued to lounge around in the town square, looking for any Pokémon wandering around that didn't look particularly busy and looked like they could be pretty tough or interested in some battling.

| Hidon was actually taken somewhat by surprise himself. He hadn't expected his Ember attack to work so well. He had actually expected the Timburr to dodge the flames by rolling off of him. That had been his real goal. But when his flames actually manage to find their mark, Mack not only jumped off of him and let out a cry of pain, he was clutching his face, momentarily blinded by the attack. That was the last thing Hidon had expected to come from his attack.
The Charmander quickly pushed himself back to the feet, seeing just how vulnerable Mack appeared to be. He was clutching his face, leaving his entire body open for attack. This could easily be his chance to turn this fight around! All he had to do was swing his strongest attack into the pit of his foe's stomach right here and now, and he'd potentially have this in the bag. With that, he clenched his right fist, pulled it back...and prepared for his next attack.
...But he couldn't bring himself to go through with it. He didn't want to win like that. Blinding an opponent? While some might argue that that was a smart way to fight...he couldn't help but find it cowardly. He refused to win a fight that way if he could help it. He stopped his concentration and stood back straight once again. "H-hey, a-are you okay?" he asked, concerned, stepping toward the Timburr. "S-sorry, I-I didn't mean it to hurt you that badly. I-I thought you were going to dodge it..."
{Hey, it's cool! =3 Don't even worry about it~}

| OOC: Why must life be so busy?
Sheering pain continued to torment Mack, but at this point there was no use in screaming. The Charmander had got him good, and if he didn't recover, he was going to be hit again! Quickly, the Timburr began to feel his face, expecting some form of disfigurement.
....
Nothing.
Almost shocked, Mack took his hands from off his face and looked around, key word being LOOKED. No changes in vision, and despite the pain, no serious injury of any kind! It seemed the Charmander's flame wasn't intended to cripple, but to deter.
The Timburr then grinned, "It did its job,"
Speaking of the Charmander, he should be getting attacked any moment now...
Once again, nothing.
The Timburr turned around, not to try and dodge an attack, but in shock that no attack was happening. He then saw Hidon, a concerned on his face, asking if he was ok! Mack just stood there for a moment, wondering if it was a trap or not.
"Nah," he finally decided, "I can tell that he's not the type of Pokémon to take cheap shots! Besides, if he wasn't being genuine here, he would have attacked me the second those fireballs inadvertently hit my face!"
The Timburr then simile, his cocky and boisterous demeanor slowly creeping back in,
"Am I alright? Of course I'm alright! You can't get as strong as I am without taking hits like that! There's nothing to be sorry about, I'm fine!"
The Timburr's smile then faded a little,
"There's no serious damage on my face, is there?"

| Hidon's face quickly changed to one of relief as the Timburr finally lowered his arms and revealed that there did not appear to be any serious injury after all. However, he couldn't help but sweatdrop as he realized that Mack had merely been overreacting to the attack to his eyes. Sure, it probably hurt, but he had acted like he was being blinded. "Uh...n-no, it doesn't look like there's anything there," Hidon replied flatly. "I mean...maybe a little bit of a singe, but nothing that won't go away." Personally, he thought that the small scorch mark actually made him look pretty cool. But he didn't want to admit anything like that to his face. At least, not yet.
He then smirked slightly, now that the initial shock of the attack had worn off. Something about that Timburr's demeanor caught onto him and made him act similarly. "Heheh...but that surprises me. You must be really something if you came outta that unscathed. Even my weaker attacks like that have some kind of lasting impact. 'Course, I shouldn't be surprised since you carry that log with you so easily. Still, though." He then put his claws to his waist, striking a pose, chest puffed out with pride, "You've got nothing on me. You might've tired me out a little bit, but it's nothing I can't handle. If you want to stop now and surrender after that, I wouldn't blame you. I wouldn't want to hurt you TOO badly, after all."

| Mack couldn't help but feel relived as the Charmander reassured him that his face was okay. Sure, maybe he was overreacting, but who could blame him? When a fireball smashes into your face, you can only expect the worst. Bottom line, he wasn't hurt, there was no lasting damage, and if he had a scorch mark or a singe on his face, oh well.
The Timburr then smirked as Hidon puffed out his chest and began to brag about himself, telling him to give up. Mack liked a Pokemon who could talk the talk and back it up as well. Something about this Pokemon, however, was different. Mack couldn't put a finger on it. He was very strong for a Charmander, almost matching up with Mack, and extremely smart as well. This Charmander obviously wasn't some random villager looking for a fight, he had to be something special. Something like an... explorer.
But that didn't matter, at least not yet. He could ask Hidon about his experiences as an Explorer later. Right now, Mack had to focus on winning this battle.
"Well, look who's talking big now. I'll admit, that fireball attack was pretty good, but it's not enough to even make me think of giving up! The only reason I asked you about my face wasn't for my safety, it was mainly for yours."
Mack then cracked his neck and got into a fighting position, a determined look on his face.
"Alright, because you had me in a vulnerable position earlier, I'll let you make the first move. I must warn you though, once you make your attack, I'm not going to hold back, and I know you won't either. It's time to see what you and me are really made of!"

| Hidon couldn't help himself. He let out a very audible chuckle. "For my safety, huh? That's some pretty tough talk, man." He grinned, looking over at Mack with a gaze filled with determination. There was something about this Timburr. His demeanor and the way he carried himself...he was quite a fun Pokémon. It was rare to find a Pokémon so into a battle. At the very least, somebody who was into the fight, at roughly equal strength with himself, and putting up a great fight. He couldn't help but wonder, though...why wasn't this guy doing something bigger? With an attitude and battle skill like this, he would've made a great teammate at the Guild....
But for now, he had more pressing matters to think about. "Alright, well, if you insist...I'll just have to take you up on that offer." He crouched slightly, raising his arms and preparing to make his first move to start their match back up again. "Just don't blame me if you end up getting pinned to the ground before you get a chance to land another punch." His usual confident smirk reappeared on his face, clenched his fists, and thought about what he should do next. He knew that he wanted to charge head-on...but the question was how? He didn't want to use his Dragon Rush just yet...so maybe a simple strike to start it off? Yeah, that might work best.
After a few moments of hesitation, he suddenly kicked off of the ground. He rushed straight forward, aiming himself right for the Timburr. As he drew closer, he pulled his right arm back, fist clenched. He intended to rush right past Mack to the Timburr's right and swing his fist forward at the same time, trying to throw a right hook into the side of Mack's face.
