First topic message reminder :

The Small Pond. A lovely little area Mim had the pleasure of being to before. Whether the title was actually its name or the locals were too lazy to give it one, the simplicity of it was...quite soothing to the small traveler.

Too bad Mim wasn't in a good enough state too enjoy it.

With a grey night sky stretching overhead, it was to be expected that a little area like this had no one in it. Except for them, of course. Mim and her...cold, questionable companion. Her first dungeon run had been an utterly ehxsausting experience. The amount of effort it had taken to get through Shaodowhue felt far too vigorous for any decent explorer to be expected to undertake. The thought of doing all that again...and again...made the reptilian almost want to puke. Despite this overwhelming stress Mim kept a bitter expression plastered over her face, partially because she still couldn't get get over the events that took place the hours prior.

It was no exaggeration to say that both pokemon were completely wrecked by the enemies back there, two in particular leaving the team with issues for the rest of the trek. The first enemy encountered had obliterated their energy, leaving them tired and even being the reason why the avian's wing was terribly injured now. The second one...Well, defeating them didn't exactly sit well with the slink. Knocking them out would've been one thing, but letting them crisp and fry in flames was another.

Sure, it may have robbed Pilot of his belongings, but it was a feral. It probably hadn't known any better. Watching two traspassers knocking out their comrade probably didn't give it a good first impression. No matter how hard Mim tried to ignore it, the image of the unlucky Paras and the uncaring words of her partner stayed in the fore front of her thoughts.

Finally, as they approached the round source of water, the rustling grass beneath their worn out feet and
ragged breathes breaking the silence, Mim couldn't hold it in anymore.

"So, are explorers always that merciless with their opponents? I could've sworn the point of being one was saving pokemon." She asked, her voice laced with a bitter and grudgeful tone one might refer to as 'salt'.

The distance they trudged over to Pilot's base was slowly beginning to wear down Mims legs, wobbling and buckling beneath the larger portion of her weight. She could only take several more steps before collapsing again. Judging by the fact that no other words came from her partner's beak, it was a thought worth considering. Eventually when they did make it to this base of his, Mim was half asleep. She mumbled what was meant to be a thankful, but probably came out inaudible. If Pilot had said anything else, it didn't reach Mim as she was already setting herself down inside the hallow tree and immediately passing out. She wasn't quite sure what plan they'd think of tomorrow, not that'd she care in a state like this. But as long as Pilot would be helping her with getting in the guild, she had no complaints. At least for now.

After several long minutes of dragging themselves through the forest, Mim and Pilot finally reached their destination. "Here it is~," Pilot chirped, waving his wings around in an amusingly momentous fashion. "Yeah, I know, it's probably not the mansion that you were expecting. But, well... That's why I'm in the Guild. So I can ditch this dump and buy my own place when I get the money..." The bird trailed, although he shut up once he realized that Mim was too tired to care. He watched the lizard hobble her way up the steps leading up to his base, following closely behind.

The inside of the structure, while small, had more than enough space to house the two of them. It was lightly furnished, with a tiny chair and table, each coated with a thick layer of dust. They obviously hadn't been used in a long time. The shoddily-built wooden plank walls were almost completely bare, only decorated with a lone map, which was nailed down. And finally, on the old, creaky floor was a small bed of straw. The Taillow motioned towards it, glancing at Mim. "It's not much, but you can sleep here," He told her, sighing. Within seconds, she had collapsed on it.

Hopping to the other side of the tiny room, Pilot perched himself on a small rod was sticking through the wall. "Err, sweet dreams," He told his future guild partner, a bit awkward on the delivery. He hadn't told anyone that since his early childhood, back when he lived with his mother and the rest of his brood... It seemed like a distant memory at this point. Huffing, he shut his eyes, and drifted off to sleep.
