| First topic message reminder :
The Ruined Chateau.... Given Sova had been here once already and explored the interior, it now looked smaller from the outside, all except for the massive double-doors. Then again, given the things he'd witnessed inside, it probably WAS somehow smaller on the outside. Still, this wasn't going to deter or scare him. The only thing he was worried for was anyone else aiming to go there. Today, the one who happened to want to go with him was Varda. This was odd, since the two usually only did missions together, but today.... there was no mission here. Actually, the guild had sort of made it a mission to explore the things happening and this seemed like the place to go, so maybe it was a mission. Just, without the rewards.
He looked up to the sky and stared at the gloomy dark clouds for a moment, as if just making sure the sky wasn't changing before he set his attention back on the Chateau. "Remember, Varda, stay close to me in here. This place will literally change with you in it, so if we get separated, we could have a lot of trouble finding each other. There's also a lot of really dangerous and hostile pokemon in here and since most of the rooms aren't exactly huge, I won't be able to go all out with you here," he explained, relaying his past experience in this horrible house to the swablu.
He wanted his ally to be ready for everything in here, after all. Especially since there was a good chance he was going to need some help.... if not with fighting, then with finding his way around. He would have brought some of his other new allies along, but oddly enough.... the little fluff-ball was still the one he trusted most alongside him. At that, Varda was the only one he trusted to manage to capably and safely navigate this place, and more importantly, to LISTEN to him. Sure, Dusk knew the area given she'd come with him before, but she had mostly just been a hindrance in fights and never listened.

| Completely ignoring Varda, Sova backed away from the door and allowed it to shut behind him. No, no, no, NO, he had not come here just to give up and LEAVE all because the house wanted to bring him back to the entrance! It didn't matter if he was injured and his friend wanted him to leave, he was NOT going to just give up, that was something that simply wasn't allowed for him. Death was preferable to cowardice in his eyes.... albeit he had a rather warped view of what qualified as "cowardice."
Without hesitating for even a moment, he turned toward the black spiral staircase in the center of the room and approached it. He knew Varda was going to question him, urge him to just leave, but that was something he simply could not do, something he didn't expect the swablu to be capable of understanding.... and he hoped it always stayed that way, no friend of his deserved to feel this way. This was one situation in which he was okay with Varda not understanding what he meant, at least not from an inside-view, and he doubted he could make the bird understand from just an explanation.
(Oh, the entrance isn't there for leaving, that would be far too boring. As for the battle, there's not really much to have a huge battle with. There's not exactly many threatening things to roll in this part of the chateau in the first place and I don't believe we have much stocked up right now. And anything that could potentially kill Sova would actually put Varda in more immediate danger than him.... for.... reasons, so don't you worry about your dickishness.)

| Varda liked looking outside after such a long time of starting at walls and darkness, his usual goofy smile explaining how he was feeling quite well. Yes, the yard of this rundown mansion wasn't exactly beautiful, but there was something about open skies a bird could appreciate. In an area like this, it made sense for the sky to be gloomy and cloudy, so dark even though he could clearly see the bright circle that was the sun behind the clouds, but... Things weren't going very well anywhere in the world, right? The same dark gloomy clouds just seemed to be everywhere now. It did again remind him why they were here in the first place...
He was so deep in his own thoughts that the door suddenly closing actually took him by surprise, causing him to blink in confusion and slowly turn his gaze towards Sova, who was just walking away by now. They... Weren't going outside? Yes, it was true that the Glaceon had never once liked the idea, but... The town wasn't that far away! If they only just got Sova's injuries treated, this would be so much better! "Oh, um, the stairs again?" Varda chirped as he hurried to waddle after his friend, seeing where he was being led again, "What if... There's another door outside that leads us closer to where we want to go?"
((Well, Sova is also breddy fukt! If there's one reason when he's ever going to have trouble with mooks, it's here. Besides, if there's never any danger for Varda, he never has to put in any effort and then he'll never evolve... PS am still a dick.))

| Sova glanced back at his friend as he walked along, just to make sure the bird was following. "Yes, the stairs. No, not outside," he replied, wanting to waste as little breath as possible in responding to Varda and giving his view on the situation. They'd already gone up this staircase before, granted he wasn't half-crippled the first time around, but still. It probably wouldn't be too difficult to go through an area they'd already been through once before, right? However, he had to admit there was the possibility of a more easily accessible door somewhere else outside that could lead to a different, less dangerous area of the house. Still, that seemed like very wishful thinking, too much so for his tastes.
As he'd just reached the staircase, placing a paw on the first stair, the door that'd led them into this room.... or what was left of it suddenly seemed to sink into the floor. Moments later, another, not-destroyed door came down from the top of the wall before settling in a normal place for a door, near where the last one had been. This wasn't exactly surprising, since he'd seen it happen before today already, but it was a very welcome development. This meant a new door that led to a new place, and what was more, he didn't have to climb an annoying staircase to get there!
(Breddy fukt tho. We DO still need the Varda magical girl transformation. And yes, you are and will forever be a dick, that's why we get along so well. <3
Seriously, though. I think I may be able to work my own magical girl-magic and think of a dangerous situation with the things we've got to work with, leave it to meeeeeee.)

| "Oh," Varda just replied, looking rather worried as the continued to hop after his friend. He felt like going outside would have been a nice change of pace that could have helped them get further in another way. Going through the same path they took last time expecting to get somewhere else... Well, it probably worked in this strange house, but it just seemed like such an odd thing to do! The stairs still looked the same as they did last time they were here... "Should I get a candle again?" The bird chirped, tilting his head. He was carrying a candle last time because it was very dark up there! An odd sound of muffled creaking wood came from behind, causing the little Swablu to look over his shoulder. The doorway they came from... Disappeared, moved away on its own! It was then replaced by another door, causing the bird to coo in awe. "Wow, look!" He chirped at his friend, flapping his wings, "Is it a door Pokémon? A door-type Pokémon? Hello!"((I believe in you senpai-sama-san-chan-kun, b-baka. Also this should teach Sova that when he doesn't let anyone else do anything, they will never grow! | Sova shook his head slowly to the suggestion of a candle, seeing as how he'd already been up these stairs before and Varda could just fly back down for a candle if it really got too bad. However, what was more, there was a new pathway revealed to them, so maybe they wouldn't even have to go up the dark stairway! Hopefully, this place would lead to somewhere better than the last door that'd been there. He stepped away from the stairs and cautiously moved toward the new door, a bit anxious to see what the house had in store for them this time.
He sighed as his friend decided this new door was a.... door-type pokémon. "No, it's not. This house shifts around and changes, remember? We just saw it change," he tried to explain as simply as possible for Varda to be able to comprehend it. As far as he knew, there was no such thing as a door-typing. However, if there was anything like that, he would argue this entire chateau was a haunted-house-type, because it really seemed like it was alive and had a very dark sense of humor sometimes. Of course, it was entirely possible that it was just random coincidence and they were merely unlucky, but who actually liked believing in coincidences?

| "Oh," Varda just replied simply, his theory – or perhaps wish – of a door Pokémon shattered. Doors usually didn't move on their own, so what if... What if all the doors really were door-type Pokémon after all?! There were other strange-looking Pokémon as well, like lamps and candles. A door honestly wasn't that much of a stretch! At least in his eyes. He thought it would be really good – though a bit odd. How would it feel like to have others walk through you like that...?
Sova was taking steps off the stairs and towards the door however, so that implied to him that his friend wanted to check it out – and the Swablu was more than happy to do this, as he was curious himself. Once again he waddled after Sova happily, his steps quick but tiny. "If it talks or bites, it's definitely a Pokémon, right?" The bird asked, tilting his head, "But if it doesn't, then... Then it's probably not a Pokémon. Unless it's sleeping!"

| Sova glanced toward his friend as they walked, listening enough to understand what the swablu was saying. It seemed fair to assume something that TALKED was probably alive, so he decided not to disagree, as the swablu had surprisingly said something that actually made sense. "Well, if it bites, it's not gonna be alive for long," he commented as he reached the door and placed a paw on it. "But it doesn't look like it's planning on biting," he continued as he pushed the door open to reveal.... an empty room.
He stepped through the door and looked around, there were candles on the walls as usual to light the room, but there didn't seem to be any doors! Other than the one that'd led to the room, of course. Yes, if this house was alive, it definitely had a very warped sense of humor. Maybe some day he'd be strong enough to just come back here and tear the whole place down from the outside.... or the inside, it didn't matter. The satisfaction would be worth any amount of infuriated locals he'd have to deal with.
(Wait a minute, I thought you said you were giving me two itemizer orbs. Where'd you get the second one from? I know you used one for me earlier, but I only see one other itemizer orb you actually rolled, so where'd that second one come from?)

| Varda nodded as they approached the door, his little heart beating fast in anticipation as he prepared to the possible discovery of a new door-type Pokémon. But no, the door didn't talk... And it didn't seem to bite either as Sova put his paw on it and pushed. "Thank you for being nice and not biting, Mister or Miss Door!" The bird chirped happily before he waddled after his friend and went through the door, entering...
And empty room? The Swablu let his eyes scan their surroundings, but other than the candles, he couldn't see much else that would help them. No doors... And no windows, for that matter. He couldn't even see any hidden doors – but that could have been because they were hidden! Or maybe the door really was a Pokémon and this was actually its belly... "Is a room a door's belly?" The bird ask, tilting his head and looking like this was a Very Important dilemma that truly bothered the bird.

| Sova turned and stared at his friend with an unamused expression at the question. Just when he thought perhaps Varda was becoming more intelligent, the opposite was proven. Or maybe the little bird was secretly a genius and just liked screwing with him, that was a possibility too. "I don't-," he began, but stopped as he heard the door shut behind them. He glanced back to see the door was.... no longer there. A trap!? "Oh.... oh no," he muttered as he realized they were now stuck in an empty room. Was he going to have to break through a wall? Given this place was old and he was strong, it wasn't too much of a task.... NORMALLY, but right now he was nearly crippled! Could he even do something like that in his current state? Then, as if the situation wasn't bad enough, a lampent flew up from under the floor to greet him, getting right into his face. It gave a very angry glare as fire began to swirl around its body. The glaceon took his time reacting, digging his head into his bag and biting onto a specific orb before lifting his head up and spitting the orb at the pest. "Die, trespa-," the lampent began, only to be cut off by an orb hitting it in the face, followed by a flash of light. Then nothing, no lampent. Only an item it seemed to have been replaced with. However, that didn't mean they were safe, there was still the issue of how they were going to get out of here! (O. By the way, I just came into ownership of four Trawl Orbs.) (Energy - 11, thank RNGsus for Itemizer Orbs. First item in the normal roll will be for the trawl orb. I guess if there's no items, uh.... | Varda looked back at Sova, just as serious. This was a serious question and it was really bothering him, not knowing the answer. Was the door what a door was, or were the parts connected to the door also a part of the door? This door anatomy was confusing – and he just had to know! He was waiting for the answer with bated breath, but the sound of the door slamming behind them, causing both of the Pokémon to spin around and look at it. Instead of a door... There was now nothing in it, just an empty wall. "Oh no! I'm sorry if we offended you, Mister or Miss door!" He chirped, not liking this one bit. How would they continue if there wasn't a door. Were they... Going to be digested by the room belly of the door?!
Another one of the lamp-like Pokémon flew up from somewhere, the Swablu didn't manage to quite catch the entrance but he did see the movement from the corner of his eye, causing him to look back in the other direction. Fire started to twirl around the floating ghost, but before it managed to do anything, a crack followed by a bright flash caused it to stop. A clink was heard as something dropped to the ground, and once Varda opened his eyes to see what had happened... The Pokémon was no more! Instead, there was some kind of small metallic piece on the floor. "Oh, Sova, look!"
((You mean Itemizer Orb for that second part, but I guess any mods checking this would probably understand! Just in case, mentioning it here. Piece Aaaaaaa. Guess we just have to do this fight and we're ready to move on!))

| Sova looked down at the metallic thing, a random object from the house that the lampent had been replaced with, with the two things switching places. Or at least.... that was how he assumed Itemizer orbs worked, though he wasn't really sure on it. Either way, it didn't seem to be anything particularly valuable. Actually, it reminded him a bit of the mechanical piece they'd found earlier! "Huh, reminds me of.... uh.... the thing. From earlier. That litwick earlier said it was a piece to a music box, so maybe this is a music box thing too?," he suggested as he looked down at the little piece, not making a move to pick it up. It seemed easier to let Varda carry these things, especially since he had an injured paw and thus would have difficulties picking up such a small trinket.
There was still the issue of the room they were in, of course, but he wasn't particularly worried about it at the current moment. Now that he'd had time to think about it, the worst case scenario was just them being stuck in one place for a while until another door showed up. Another door always showed up. And even if the house decided it didn't want to give them a way out, well.... sometimes you've gotta make a door. And then there was always the possibility another door would show up very soon, in which case they had nothing to worry about.
(Yes, I meant the first item rolled would be for the Itemizer orb. Woops. Now onto the pressing matter of PIECE A. Wanna have Varda evolve in the next area, then, since we're finally free to move on now? There's way cooler stuff to fight there and we don't have much to work with here anyways.)

| "Ah, you're right!" Varda chirped as Sova mentioned how he was reminded of the other odd little piece they had found earlier, something a Pokémon had called a music box. If it really was broken, then it made sense for there to be tiny little pieces everywhere! The bird quickly hopped over and stopped in front of the metallic piece, looking at it from multiple angles before he picked it up with his foot, giving it an even closer look. He sat down so he could have both of his feet ready, pulling out the other piece from his bag and looking at them at the same time.
It was obvious that these two pieces wouldn't make a music box. If it really was one, then it was very badly broken and they had only managed to find just a few of the needed ones. No matter how much he tried to play with the pieces, the Swablu just couldn't quite get them to stick together. It was as if there was another piece that would have to go there somewhere so they would stick... "I don't think this is enough," Varda cooed, putting the pieces in his bag and standing up.
((If he evolves here, he can start the other thread with a bit more energy though. And we have rolled some enemies we have to take care of... Earlier you didn't mention which Pokémon were in the spoopy room, so you could use some of the earlier rolls if you want more Pokémon, we rolled a lot back then, heh.))

| Sova watched as his friend tried to no avail to put the parts together, before guessing they didn't have enough. He nodded in agreement, figuring it would probably take more than the little bits they currently had to make a whole music box, under the assumption the litwick was even right. "Well-," he began, only to be cut off by the appearance of a door at the other end of the room, cycling into the middle of the wall from the edge.
He probably should have felt glad, but he couldn't help but think it was convenient.... a bit too convenient. Then, sure enough, his worries seemed to be proven more than just worries as the door creaked open, revealing.... well, mostly darkness. However, the most noteworthy thing was what seemed to be two blue gems in the darkness, reflecting the light of the candles in their room. Whatever was in the darkness didn't seem to make any moves for the time-being, maybe sizing the two up. Sova said nothing, hoping Varda would be able to gather that they were likely in danger on his own.

| Varda blinked and turned to look at whatever odd sound he heard, watching as a door moved into view out of nowhere! No matter how many times he saw it, it always looked so... Interesting! How often did one see doors moving like this? He hoped this door would be nicer and wouldn't just eat them. Or maybe doors didn't like it when Pokémon walked through them. He had no idea...
When the door stopped in the middle, it opened, revealing an inky blackness inside – and something else when the candlelight of their room reached them. Two shiny little reflective surfaces shining in the darkness, looking like... Well, they looked like two little blue gems floating in the air, right? The bird tilted his head in confusion before he smiled, looking rather happy. Gems were kinda pretty! "Do you think music boxes need gems?" Varda asked happily as he took a couple of steps forward, looking quite excited.

| Sova watched the eerie gems in the darkness, and as his eyes began to adjust to the low light through the door, something else became apparent.... he could just barely make out a silhouette of something around the gems. It was then that he realized what the gems were: eyes! A sableye! "Varda-," he began, only to have the owner of the gemstone-eyes step out of the darkness and into the well-lit room. It was indeed a sableye, and what was more, it had a rather confident and.... malevolent smile on its face, revealing its white, razor-like teeth.
"Hand over your bags. Now. Then you can leave," the sableye demanded with a rather scratchy, but still firm and audible voice, seeming oddly confident in itself. It didn't seem to just be blind confidence, though. No.... over his time as a member of Grassveil Guild, the glaceon had learned what blind overconfidence looked like.... and he'd stomped such stupidity out of many a foe. This was definitely not that, it had no traces of boasting, no outward aggression, just an eerie calmness. He immediately gathered that this sableye was planning to rob them and what was more, that it was probably a very experienced criminal to have such a demeanor about itself.
This scared Sova. He did not quite fear any mortal creature killing him.... normally, but he was currently rather badly injured and what was more, Varda was not nearly of strong of a fighter as him. Honestly, he was mostly afraid for his friend. If he could still take on an enemy in his current state, would he be able to protect Varda too? Either way, he wasn't going to just give all of his stuff to some thief.... so his answer, instead of words, was merely a very clearly hostile glare.
