» Personality:
Tropical is a quiet pokemon. He is kind-hearted and compassionate, and always has something good to say about anyone, regardless of anything they might do or say. He never gets angry, only slightly irritated when most pokemon would be ready to burn down the world. This can, unfortunately, lead to him being taken advantage of and being walked all over at times, as he doesn't have the heart to say no to a pokemon in need. He also doesn't like to fight. While he will defend himself if necessary, he will generally avoid fights unless he has no other way out; trying to reason with even feral pokemon.
» Likes:
Poffins - He grew up eating poffins made by his mother and grandmother, and to him, any poffin (other than foul poffins) are the best-tasting food in the entire world. He is always experimenting with making poffins and seeing what kinds of things he can do with poffins, which resulted in the shop that he hopes to make in Aileron Village.
Gardening - This sort of results from his like of poffins. Because poffins need berries and sometimes apples or seeds, Tropical learned to garden at a young age. He grew to really love tending to the garden, and thus not only grows ingredients needed for poffins, but also flowers and other plants, simply because he likes to grow plants.
Art - Though he himself isn't very good at painting, drawing, sculpting, or anything very 'art-like,' Tropical does enjoy looking at others' artwork. He believes that art is an expression of the soul, and he would love to spend hours staring at artwork if he could. Unfortunately, since he lives in Aileron, he doesn't get to see very much artwork, as not very many flying pokemon are suited for painting, and smeargle and other artful pokemon find it hard to reach the Floating Islands. Tropical hopes one day to find an art gallery where he can view art for hours, and maybe even buy a few statement pieces for his flat in Aileron.
» Dislikes:
Fighting - Tropical dislikes fighting of all kinds. He thinks that everything is able to be solved by calm words and compromises, so when other pokemon are not as amicable, he is disappointed. His dislike of fighting even extends to feral pokemon; he is much more likely to try and reason with a feral than attack it; only defending himself if he has no other choice.
Cold Weather - Cold weather kills plants and makes everything unbearably freezing. In addition to Tropical's grass typing that makes him particularly vulnerable to cold, he has never liked cold weather because it tends to kill his well-tended garden. He dislikes the disappointment of finding that his flowers and berries have died from the freezing temperatures.
Thunderstorms - Much for the same reason that he dislikes cold weather, Tropical dislikes thunderstorms because the wind from the storms have a habit of destroying all the hard work that he goes to in his gardening. Though he enjoys a good rain like any plant, the winds wreak havoc on some of his more sensitive plants, so during thunderstorms he can often be seen standing in the rain, attempting to ward off the wind from his plants with his own gusts from his wings.
» History:
Tropical was raised by his mother, father, and grandmother in Aileron Village. His family has a long history in making poffins, reaching all the way back to his great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, who learned the recipe from a cafe owner and then brought it back to his family. Because of this tradition, Tropical grew up on eating poffins and grew up learning how to make them. This made him fall in love with poffins, and he tried many different combinations to attempt to make new poffin recipes that his family hadn't bothered making before.
Tropical had a very good childhood. His parents loved him very much and he had a special relationship with his grandmother since he was so interested in poffins. He would spend hours in the kitchen with her, listening to her stories about times long ago while learning and helping to make poffins. Even as he grew older, Tropical never grew apart from his family. Even though he eventually moved out of the house, he only moved to a small flat that was only a couple blocks away from his parents' house.
Every weekend, he goes back to his parents' house and visits with them, and often they come to visit him at his flat. They are very proud of his plans to make a store selling poffins, and wish him good luck. They say that when he opens the store, that they will be his most frequent customers. He counts himself lucky to have such great relationships with his family members, and does his best not to take advantage of that fact.
In preparation for his shop, he has commissioned a shop to be built near the Aileron Guild. He hopes that the proximity to the guild will bring him more customers. He is also planning to move into the upper floor of the shop so that he can be closer to his work. Thanks to his good relationship with his family, he was able to borrow enough money for the downpayment on the shop/flat that is being built. He hopes that the cafe will bring in enough money for him to quickly repay his parents and allow him to be independent.
